13 - Lurk
Bonnie had thought many times about what her first time might be like. It would be with someone she was madly in love with, and who loved her even more. He would be a man who'd cater to her every need and his main desire was to make sure she was getting everything she could out of the experience. He'd be passionate, loving, sexy, and make her feel things she'd never felt before. Maybe they'd be in a beautiful hotel suite, scented candles burning, soft music playing in the background. Very cliched but ideal. Most of all, there'd be no regrets afterward.
Bonnie foresaw no regrets as she and Julius melded into one. Completely naked, completely uninhibited, they claimed each other under his satin sheets. Her arms were pressed to her chest, her eyes shut and her breathing heavy as he gently stroked, breaking her body in. She could feel his beautiful hazel orbs boring into her so she opened her own eyes to meet his. A loud cry escaped her as he burrowed himself deeper inside of her.
"Are you okay?" He asked her, softly.
She nodded. "I'm okay." she breathed then cried out again. Julius slowed his movement and Bonnie caressed the side of his face before wrapping her arms around his upper body. Julius had been a little surprised when Bonnie told him she was a virgin, but his respect for her grew even more. He was honored to be her first, and he wanted it to be perfect. Bonnie had been warned before by friends about how painful a girl's first time could be, but the discomfort hadn't lasted too long. Julius was gentle, and could sense when it was becoming a little too much for her to handle and adjusted the rhythm of his stroke. The pleasure Bonnie was getting exceeded any pain, and what Julius was feeling surpassed anything he'd ever felt while in this position before.
Julius cursed under his breath as Bonnie's walls tightened around his rod, increasing the sensation. He was nearing his end. Bonnie pulled him closer. "I'm okay, baby," she assured him in a half-whisper. She brought her right leg over his bottom, burying him even deeper within her. His breath hitched and he stroked faster. Bonnie moaned, driving him even crazier. Her arm was still wrapped around him, her nails inadvertently digging into his skin as her cries of pleasure grew louder. Her upper body was slightly lifted off the bed as she held onto him, and his forehead was pressed against hers.
"Aah...I think I might..." Bonnie's sentence trailed off as she sighed heavily but Julius knew where it was going.
"Do it, baby," he coaxed as he was already riding the edge. "Come with me."
He pushed inside of her and she released him, falling back onto the pillow, crying out. He moved with her, burrowing his face into her neck as he rotated his hips expertly and pushed her over the edge. Bonnie could've sworn she literally saw fireworks as she burst open, releasing a wave that was met with Julius' own as he came gloriously crashing down from their sexual high. Bonnie held onto him, her chest rising and falling with her heavy breaths, even after they both came down.
Julius took a solid moment before pulling away and settling onto the bed beside her. He lay on his side so he could look at her and wrapped his arm around her, bringing her body into his. "Damn," Bonnie said. "I can't say I expected all of this for breakfast."
Julius chuckled and planted a kiss on the side of her face. "You're so fucking cute," he admired and gently gripped her by her face, planting multiple kisses on her cheek, trailing down to her neck. Bonnie's smile turned into giggling at his incessant smooching.
"Okay, okay, I get it!' She laughed, wiggling as if she wanted to free herself from his grip. He held onto her and moved on top of her again, his face serious as he looked down into her viridian eyes.
"I don't think I've ever felt like this," he said.
"I've never felt like this," she replied, honestly.
"You're mine, Bonnie?" He posed it as a question but it sounded more like a declaration to her.
"I'm yours and you're mine," she stated. He brought his lips to hers and drew her into a deep kiss. It wasn't long before she could feel him hardened and pressing up against her.
"I want you again." He made an obvious statement.
"I want you too, baby, but you have to give me a minute. I'm still sore," Bonnie told him.
"Of course." He moved away then he was off the bed in an instant. Bonnie sat up and watched him as he crossed the room, naked as the day he was born, to the table that held an expensive vase and a jug of water sided by glasses. He poured some water into one of the glasses then turned to face Bonnie. Her eyes instinctively dropped down onto his manhood, which now only belonged to her. She was feeling like a lucky woman herself.
Julius drank the water and watched her ogling him. "Keep staring at me like that and you'll be throbbing even more," he said with a smirk. Bonnie rolled her eyes.
"Still cocky as ever, huh?"
"I'm cocky for a reason," he bragged. "Many reasons, actually. One of which you just learned firsthand." He downed the rest of the water and poured some more. "Want some?"
"Sure," she said. "Have you seen my phone?"
"I think you left it downstairs," he told her as he passed her his glass of water. "I'll go grab it for you."
"It's fine, I can get it." Bonnie started to flip back the sheet she was lying under.
"I said I'll do it," Julius said firmly, placing his hand on top of hers. "Just relax. Let somebody do something for you for once. Okay?" Bonnie gazed at him then nodded. He pulled on his jeans, gave her a quick kiss then disappeared from the room. A wide smile spread across Bonnie's face. For the first time in a long time, she felt happy.
She got up from the bed and threw on the tank top she'd previously been wearing before making her way into the connecting bathroom. She took a moment to gaze at herself in the mirror. After years of hearing her friend's many, detailed sex stories and seeing it in movies and on HBO she'd finally experienced it for herself. And it had exceeded her expectations. She actually achieved an orgasm the first time around, something both Elena and Caroline had told her they hadn't experienced at all with their first partners, let alone their very first time.
There had been times she felt a little bad for depriving Jeremy, but now she was more grateful than ever that she'd held onto her virginity. As hot as Jeremy was she knew it wouldn't have been the same with him. He had to work hard to turn her on whereas Julius could do it with a single look. She didn't feel that fire within her when Jeremy touched her that she did when Julius was in close vicinity to her. Julius made her feel like a woman, and she loved him for it.
He was suddenly behind her. It had happened so fast Bonnie merely blinked then he was reflected in the mirror standing behind her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind, inhaling the scent of her hair, before holding out her iPhone.
"Here you go. Damon's been texting you," he said, stepping back.
"You looked at my texts?" She asked, her brow furrowed as she turned.
"No, the phone was blinking and I just checked who they were from," he explained. "I don't snoop in people's phones, I'm not you."
Bonnie sucked her teeth. "I thought you weren't going hold that against me," she said. She had a missed call from Damon and two messages. Hey Wicked Witch. What happened to contact?, the first one read. You left hours ago. If I don't hear from you within the next hour I'm going to assume Julius has done away with you and I have to kill him, read the second one. He'd sent that one fifty-six minutes ago.
Bonnie quickly sent him a text back. I'm fine. Everything is fine. Murder not necessary. "Everything okay?" Julius questioned.
"Everything's fine," Bonnie replied. "I had promised I would keep in contact with him when I left with you so he would know I was safe but I got distracted and forgot."
"When did he become so protective over you?" He asked. "You two seem...different from when I left. What changed?"
"We lived together," Bonnie said with a shrug. "That can change the dynamics of a relationship."
"Relationship?"
"You know what I mean," Bonnie said with a sigh. "He's still a condescending ass and he still thinks I'm 'judgy', and we still bicker like it's our day job. Things haven't changed that much it's just that in the past few days with our being forced to be around each other more we've tried to come to an understanding. We look out for each other, just like we do with everyone else in our group. That's it."
Julius nodded. "I get that. It's just that he's the only one who's called you since you've been here with me, he's the only one you were with when I went to the house earlier, and he's the one who's been actively trying to remove me from your life. I can't help but wonder why?"
"That's all just coincidence save that last part," Bonnie said. "You have nothing to worry about when it comes to Damon. He's dating my best friend, remember?"
"Didn't he steal her from his brother?" He asked. Bonnie had forgotten she had shared that piece of information with him. She hadn't expected it could ever be used against her.
"There's a lot more to that story than you know, Julius."
"My point is that boundaries don't seem to exist with this guy," Julius said.
Bonnie's phone beeped with a text message alert. She gave Julius an uncertain look before checking it. As she suspected, it was from Damon. I won't believe it until I hear your voice. Call me.
"Let me guess," Julius said. "He wants you to call him." Bonnie didn't reply. "Bonnie, I'm a guy who's always been secure in his relationships, and I wouldn't be with a woman I didn't believe was trustworthy, but I'm never going to put up with another guy trying to interfere in my relationship. If Damon has feelings for you that needs to be addressed because he's not going to be crossing any lines with you. Not while I'm around."
"Julius, that's crazy!" Bonnie exclaimed. "Damon does not have any feelings for me. At all. He's been in love with Elena since I've known him, almost obsessively so. He's my friend by default and after two years we're finally starting to tolerate each other a little better. What you're seeing isn't him being protective because he has feelings for me, it's because he knows they need me. I'm his girl's best friend, and maybe a small part of him doesn't want me to end up brutally murdered. But that's just a small part." Bonnie said the last part in a slightly teasing tone."You trust me and that's all that matters. I'm all yours." She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "But I really should call him back before he comes looking for me. I'll make it quick, then all my attention is back on you and there will be no mention of any Salvatore for the rest of the day."
Julius gave her a half smile. "Call him but first there's something I want to talk to you about."
Bonnie looked at him curiously as he took her by the hand and led her back into the bedroom. He settled on the bed and pulled her into his lap. "What's up?" She asked him.
"I'm not staying in Mystic Falls," he stated. "I had all intentions to come back for you but I was never planning on being back for long."
Bonnie's heart was sinking. He couldn't possibly be telling her he was going to be leaving her again. Not after what had just taken place. "What are you saying to me, Julius?" She asked, trying to keep the worry out of her voice.
"I'm saying that there's still things I need to do," he said. "I can't rest until I get Valerie safely away from Victoria. I saw her while I was in North Carolina, Bonnie."
Bonnie's eyes widened. "You did?"
"Yes. It was the most surreal moment of my life," he explained. "I found her room. She was sleeping when I went in there. She was barely a year old the last time I saw her and now...she's grown so much and it kills me that I've had to miss it. She was so beautiful. I could've watched her sleep all night."
"Wow," was all Bonnie could think to say in the moment. "It's great that you finally saw her, Julius. At least now you know she's safe."
Julius nodded. "She's safe as long as Victoria sticks with her original plan," he said. "I have to kill her before she gets pissed enough to throw it out the window and want to kill everyone. I have to go back to North Carolina and take care of that, get Valerie safely away from Victoria and all her minions, then I want to move on from there. No more crazy exes, no more threats to the people around me, no more fighting for my life. I want some kind of peace, but I can't see myself having that without you. I'm saying I want you to come with me, Bonnie. After North Carolina, we can keep going. I know you love this town and your friends but they're a burden on you and you're never going to have peace as long as they're around. There's nothing for you here and there's definitely nothing for me. We can find somewhere else where we can start over and be happy together. No drama. I want you and I to leave this place together and never look back."
Damon was at his usual spot at the bar in the Mystic Grill, but instead of drinking he was observing. Stefan, Elena, Matt, and Caroline were playing pool, laughing and carrying on like they were having the time of their lives. It was bugging the shit out of Damon. Just yesterday they were all in a battle, minus the bus boy, that could've ended their lives. It took a lot out of all them and there could possibly be a war coming but everyone was acting like it was just a normal day.
After Damon called them that morning and told them Julius was back, everyone seemed relieved and not at all annoyed that he'd taken off with Bonnie. Their road trip was quickly tossed aside and they all proceeded to carry on as if nothing was amiss. Why were they playing pool like this was a time for games?
Damon's eyes narrowed as he watched Elena laughing at one of Stefan's lame jokes like he was Eddie Murphy or somebody who was actually funny, placing her hand on his upper arm like she needed the support to let out a fucking laugh. She touched him when she wanted to point something out, she touched him when he said something "interesting", he touched her when he needed to "get by". Why did she have to be so fucking touchy-feely all the time, Damon thought to himself. You can get your point across to a person without making physical contact. She didn't extend that same courtesy of overzealous laughter and playful shoving to Matt and Caroline, so why Stefan? It was annoying.
Damon knew his feelings were petty, and that Elena didn't feel that way about Stefan anymore, but he couldn't help but be put off by their comfortability with each other. No matter how much he wished he could, he couldn't shake away the knowledge that they'd seen each other naked countless times. There'd been quite a few nights he'd been subjected to their sex noises coming through the wall while he tried to sleep. Everything intimate he did with Elena, his brother had done with her first, and nothing would ever change that.
His phone vibrated in his jacket pocket, breaking him out of his deprecating thoughts. He pulled it out and saw the witch was finally calling him. "About damn time," he quipped when he answered the call. "Did Australia have you bound and gagged or something?"
"Do you really want to know what we do when we're alone?" Bonnie questioned, suggestively. The smirk on Damon's face immediately disappeared.
"Joke's over. Where are you?" He asked, seriously.
"I'm still out with Julius," she said. "I was just calling you so can hear my voice as you demanded."
"You're seriously not going to tell me where you are?"
"Why is that necessary?" She asked. "You wanted to make sure I was safe, I'm letting you know that I am."
"When are you coming home?" Damon inquired. "We still need to figure out this Victoria situation."
"I'll be home later," she replied.
Damon's brow furrowed. "Something's up. I can hear it in your voice."
"Nothing's up, Damon," she replied, with a sigh. "A lot has gone down this week and I'm still trying to process it all."
"The only process you need to be making is permanently removing Julius and his entire coven of crazy."
"Damon..."
"Look, don't be out all night. You have more important shit to take care of than boning your boyfriend."
"Yes, Dad."
"I'll see you soon." Damon ended the call and pocketed his phone. He got up from his stool and approached the gang. Elena smiled at the sight of him and held out her pool stick.
"Your turn," she announced.
"Not in the mood," he responded with a scowl.
"We know you like to be miserable on a daily basis but you're not taking us down with you tonight," Caroline spoke up. He glared at her.
"Tell me again why this is the time to be playing pool and not preparing for another possible attack?" He sniped.
"When isn't there another possible attack?" Matt piped up. "We make a new enemy every single day. We can't stop living our lives because of it." All four of them nodded in agreement and looked at Damon expectantly. Elena held out the pool stick again.
"Your turn," she repeated. Damon sneered and snatched the pool stick from her. He wanted to snap it in half, but instead he decided to teach them a lesson or two in the art of pool. Beating them wasn't going to be any fun, however, because he couldn't get the witch out of his head. His intuition was telling him that something was up, and his intuition was rarely wrong.
Damon was still talking shit to Stefan when they returned to the boardinghouse. Stefan had learned to tune his brother out when he was in one of his moods and wanted to mouth off to the world. The Audi Damon had gifted Bonnie was parked in the driveway but the house didn't appear to be occupied by anyone when they entered it. Damon figured the witch could be holed up in her room.
"Bonnie!" He called as he wandered through the house. "Where are you, Witchy?" He headed up the stairs and noticed his bedroom door had been left ajar. He never left his door open when he was out of the house. He stepped inside and took a quick look around before his eyes landed on a piece of stationary paper resting on his pillow. He flashed over to the bed and picked it up. Bonnie's bubbly calligraphy flowed across the page from top to bottom.
A quick scan of it was enough to sober Damon up. "She didn't," he sneered to himself. slightly crumpling the letter in his hand. He sped out of the room, bursting into hers. With his vampire speed he moved around the room, opening all the drawers and the closet. All of it had been emptied of Bonnie's belongings. Her scent still lingered faintly in the air but it could be assumed she'd left awhile ago.
"Fuck!" Damon shouted, furiously slamming shut one of the dresser drawers.
"Did you get one of these?" Stefan had entered the room, holding a personalized letter of his own. "She left town with Julius. She said she's not coming back."
"I've always taken the witch to be irritating and stubborn but I never took her to be stupid," Damon sniped, glowering at the empty room. Within the span of ten minutes Elena, Caroline, Matt, and Jeremy all found letters addressed to them sitting on their beds. One by one they all placed calls to Bonnie and got the same message. The number you are trying to reach is no longer in service. Then they all began to call each other.
Damon stormed out of Bonnie's room and went back into his own. He placed her letter on top of the dresser and dialed her phone. The number you are trying-. He hung up and quickly dialed again. The number you are-. He growled angrily as he ended the call and refrained from smashing his phone against the dresser. She'd deprived him of the opportunity to even curse her out on a voicemail. He didn't need to read her stupid letter, he thought to himself but he picked it up again anyway.
Damon,
I want to thank you for attempting to make my stay at your house the least bit tolerable. That will be the Damon I choose to remember in the future. I've decided to leave Mystic Falls with Julius. It may seem like an impulsive decision, or plain stupid in your eyes, but I thought it over and decided it was the best thing for all of us. Yes, I do love Julius and that's part of the reason why I'm doing this, but it's also to keep everyone in Mystic Falls safe. Victoria and her coven have no use for any of you now and no reason to go after you without Julius or me in the picture. I'm sure you'll understand in the future.
I'm sorry I didn't tell you of my plans when we spoke on the phone earlier, but I didn't want you trying to interfere. Please, don't come looking for me, and don't allow anyone else to attempt to. You will not find me, and I don't want to be found. I'm going to take care of this problem that I brought into our lives, I promise. Then we'll all be able to move on. I'm hoping you, more than anyone Damon, understand why I'm willing to leave everything behind for someone that I love. I'm sure if you were in my position, you would run away with Elena in a heartbeat.
There's a lot of things I could thank you for, Damon Salvatore. If you hadn't blown into my life and implanted yourself against my will, been exactly who you were, I may never have become the witch I am today or the person I am. You taught me a lot of things, but do not take that as me excusing your past behavior. You're still a jerk.
I hope you and Elena continue to make each other happy. Take care of her and yourself. Stay out of trouble. I don't want to have to use my witchy juju on you from a distance.
Bonnie
As her friends were reading her departing words to them, Bonnie and Julius were driving off into the night, Mystic Falls already miles behind them. Julius was behind the wheel of the Mercedes, the sounds of Lana del Rey filled the vehicle, and Bonnie was filled to the rim with emotion. She gazed at her man as he drove them into a new life and a future together. He could feel her eyes on him and turned his head to meet her gaze.
She gave him a small smile. "I love you," she told him.
"I love you too," he replied with no hesitation. He focused his attention back on the road but his hand lingered between them. It wasn't long before he felt Bonnie intertwining her fingers with his and holding onto his hand tightly. They drove on as Lana sang of being her lover's National Anthem.
Julius may have made Bonnie feel like a woman, but she made him feel human again.
A/N: Yeah, I know a little cheesy. There's a reason I usually stay away from writing romance but I wanted our girl to be happy for a little while. Anyway, leave me your thoughts and I'll see you next update. :)
