This chapter was fun to write, because I've read so many Treasure Planet romance fanfiction, and the OC always stayed with Jim while he is in the centroid. Not one story I read had something different.

I wanted to see what happened to Doc, the captain, and B.E.N. when they took The Legacy back. How would they have taken out all those pirates? I dunno, I just thought it would be interesting to see a different side of the story.

R&R~!

The only thing on Vanessa's mind as she was forced back onto the vessel was how Jim was doing, and hoping he was better off than they were.

"Hurry up! Let's get off this blasted planet before we be blasted into wee wee bits!" Mr Onus ordered.

Vanessa was thrown over the shoulder of a man who took her up the ladder. She struggled in attempt to be too much for him to handle, but his grip was too strong.

"Where do ye want the prisoners?"

"The brig, dumb dumb, where else?"

They took Doc down first, then the captain, then B.E.N., who tried to play dead like it was going to free him. Vanessa's captor had taken two steps down the stairs to the brig when he was interrupted.

"Hey guys . . . Silver be gone . . . who wants to be havin' a bit o' fun with the cabin girl?"

Oh no . . . no! No! NO!

The cat calls and whistling started up instantly, striking fear into her very heart. She toiled and flailed as hard and fast as she could, "No, p-please!"

"Aww, eyeball that, lads! She's so eager to get started!"

"One at a time, or all at once?"

"We be on a planet 'bout to explode! We canna be usin' the lass at the same time,"

"Who wants the lass first?"

After being jostled around from crew member to crew member, they settled on the obese alien that worked the laser cannon. He took her down a separate staircase to the cots below while covering her mouth with his sweaty hand to keep her from screaming.

"Relax lass, ye'll get yer medicine in a few," he sniggered.

The man took her to a corner of the room and slammed her down on the hard wood floor, sending painful shocks to her spine. Vanessa tried to scramble away, but with her hands bound behind her back, she could only get a few feet away before he was on her.

"None a that escapin' stuff, ye hear me?"

"G-Get off of m-m-me!" she shrieked, continuing to squirm. She heard the "snip" of a knife being unsheathed and gasped as she felt the sharp blade stab into her side, "AH!"

"I told ye none a that!" he slapped his meaty slab over her mouth, almost covering her nose to the point where she couldn't breathe and his putrid stench filled her nostrils. The pirate towered his knife to the bottom of her white blouse and tore it open, revealing her low cut, dirt covered tank top.

"We be gonna havin' a great time, ye and I,"

Vanessa realized her chest was heaving with fear and her honey eyes filled with tears. All she could see was his small head and tiny round eyes gaping at her hungrily, licking his lips in anticipation. She closed her eyes against the brute and whimpered helplessly. He cut open her tank top, exposing her bare breasts and shame of what was to come over powered her. He grabbed her right breast in a rough and painful manor, and when it had become swollen and bruised, switched to the left one. She winced and yelled as he violated her body.

STOP! PLEASE STOP! DON'T DO THIS! She shrieked inside. The tears streamed down her cheeks, slightly distilling the stench of his hand.

"Oh, I love it when they cry," his deep voice hummed in her ear. After he had punished her chest enough, his touch trailed south of her stomach. Instinctively, she closed her legs and arched her back to try and push him off, but his massive body fat glued her to the floor.

"Ye know ye love it, lass. I can see it in ye eyes,"

Her eyes snapped open, and for a few short seconds she became immobilized.

Ye know ye love it.

I can see it in ye eyes.

Shut up an' take it, girl.

Scream all ye want, nay one soul will save ye.

Do ye miss ye mommy an daddy?

Ye can't do nary a thing 'bout it.

Ye know ye love it.

The sound of her shorts being sliced open was the last straw. Anger sparked deep inside her and grew into a roaring flame of powerful hatred. Vanessa Kendrick wasn't going to take this abuse and feel ashamed about it anymore!

She bit down on the fleshy palm of his limb, hard enough to make him bleed into her mouth. He yelled in pain and retracted his hand.

"You filthy bitch!" he grabbed her throat and shook her violently. Vanessa rammed her knee into his crotch, making him groan in pain and roll off of her. Quickly, and full of adrenaline, she got to her feet and aimed a powerful kick to his skull, knocking him out cold.

"I will n-n-never submit to any l-low life s-scum like you ever again!" she spat.

His knife lay abandoned on the floor. Vanessa turned her back and clumsily inched it into her palms. Pointing the blade away from her, she hacked into the ropes.

"Ouch!" the blood trickled down the creases of her flesh. She but herself many more times before she sliced through the last thread. Then she used the ropes to tie up the pirate.

"Okay . . . okay, I g-gotta get them out, we n-need to t-t-take over the p-pirates, g-get Jim, and get off this p-planet . . . right,"

Vanessa took a moment to examine the damage down to her body. The wound on her side still leaked blood, and her breasts were blotched dark purple. The wound on her side wasn't very deep, but was bleeding pretty heavily. She was able to take the ends of her shredded blouse and tank top and tie them together to cover her chest. She grabbed the knife and shoved it in her pocket and, upon noticing the pirate had a laser pistol, took that as well. She patted him down and found part of her gold in his pockets, and gratefully took it back. Carefully and quietly, she went to the top of the stairs. Three of the remaining pirates stood on the main deck, their backs turned to her.

"What on Neptune be takin' so long?"

"Some idiot tore out all a the wires that make the ship run. Ain't goin' anywhere till it's fixed,"

"Who be the idiot that did that?"

"Beats me,"

She tip toed into plain sight and slid to the other staircase leading to the prison, having no problems on the way. Vanessa ran down a last flight of stairs to a hallway lined with cells. The first cell on her left contained Doc, who looked overjoyed to see her. Vanessa pointed her stolen laser pistol at the bars.

"You m-might want to m-m-move, Doctor D-Delbert. I d-don't know how t-to use this thing,"

Doc moved to the side of his cell. Vanessa glanced over the gun and found the button she thought worked the laser and cut a giant hole in the bars. Then she went inside, removed his gag, and untied him.

"Vanessa, how come they didn't put you in a cell?" he asked as he rubbed his wrists. Vanessa's cheeks reddened, nevertheless, she didn't answer, instead, going to the captain's and B.E.N.'s cell, freeing them as well.

"What happened to you? You're hurt," the captain noted, gently touched her side, "And why is your shirt torn?"

"Um . . . it's nothing. We need t-to take the ship back. One of them is fixing the w-wiring, and the other th-three are on the main deck,"

"What do you mean 'fixing the wiring'? What's wrong with my vessel?" the captain asked fiercely.

"They s-s-said someone tore it all out,"

"Um . . . uh . . . heh heh," if robots could blush, B.E.N. would be bright red. "That's my fault. I, um, I had trouble disabling the, uh, the laser cannons,"

Captain Amelia glared menacingly at him, "Then you go and take care of the one fixing the breaker,"

"H-How am I to do that, exactly?" he asked nervously.

"That's for you to figure out, you hunk of useless metal, now get going,"

"Right, right! Gotta go, gotta get going before the, um, the planet explodes," B.E.N. turned on his heel and shuffled down the hall.

"Wait until he's finished rewiring before you attack him!" she called after, then turned her attention to Vanessa and Doc, "Alright, Lady and Gent, we have a limited amount of time before we're all dead. We're going to retake The Legacy, and we're going to snail into space and never look back,"

"B-But we have to get J-Jim, he's s-s-still in the c-centroid," Vanessa informed her.

"Fine, then we'll pick him up between retaking our ship and sailing into space. Did you acquire any other weapons?"

"J-Just a knife,"

"Each of us is going to have to take on a pirate. Doctor, you take the gun, Ms. Kendrick can keep the knife, and I'll -"

"Wait a minute, wait a minute, neither of you can fight, you're both injured."

"Oh pish, it's nothing but a bruise," Captain Amelia disagreed.

"I'm f-fine," Vanessa insisted, "C-Come on, we have n-no time to waste," she put the laser pistol in Doc's hands a little roughly and ran up the steps. They stopped just below the main deck and checked the locations of the pirates. Mr. Onus stood at the right edge of the boat ahead of them. The only female pirate hung from the shrouds, and the last one, the pirate that had the appearance of a red starfish, was nowhere to be seen.

"Doctor, I want you to shoot Mr. Onus, not killing him, but stunning him enough that we can capture him, effectively," Captain Amelia ordered. She poked her head up just the slightest bit and scanned the hard wood floors and discovered long coils of rope by the main mast, "Due to my injury, I will not be successful in subduing him. That means Ms. Kendrick will have to do so. I'll see what I can do about the other two,"

"Captain, you shouldn't -" Doc tried to put his word in, and was cut off.

"Enough fuss, get into position,"

He sighed and cocked the gun, pointing it at Mr. Onus' side. Vanessa readied herself, tension and adrenaline running through her, her knife held tightly in her hand, eyes squarely on the would-be victim.

"Ready . . . and . . . now!"

BAM!

As Mr. Onus' high pitched scream filled her ears, Vanessa zipped up the stairs to the pile of rope and threw it over the fallen alien. She was able to wrap it around him two times – while he flailed in pain, no less – when she was forced onto her back.

"How'd ye get out of ye cells?!"

The female pirate hopped up and down on her bruised chest. She grabbed her by the throat with her gnarly, skeletal hands. Vanessa swung her knife into the woman's head. She shrieked, releasing her, and Vanessa grabbed her wrists, then a piece of rope to tie her up.

"Vanessa, help me!" Doc yelled, who had taken to subduing Mr. Onus when she was attacked. Vanessa took the end of the rope and the two ran around him until he could no longer squirm.

"Perfect, now the last one – where's the captain?"

At the sound of her high hiss, Vanessa glanced to the quarter deck to see Captain Amelia knocking out the last pirate, using only her legs and one arm, it appeared. Standing up straight and brushing a strand of hair back into place, she ordered Vanessa to tie him up as she perceived any damage done to the control center and the wheel. Vanessa went to all of the pirates and checked them for her stolen gold, finding more with each of them. She guessed that the one pirate in the breaker had the last of it.

"That lame robot is taking too long. Doctor, go check on him while you take the prisoners down," she commanded.

"There's another one in the s-s-sleeping area that n-needs to be removed," Vanessa added, "And, if you w-wouldn't mind, the l-last pirate has s-s-some of my g-gold,"

Doc nodded as he slung the female pirate onto his shoulder, and then dragged Mr. Onus with him down below.

"Ms. Kendrick, come here,"

She ran up the steps, and regretted it as her head spun and her vision blurred. Vanessa fell to her knees and groaned, pressing a hand to her side, which was bleeding heavily. The captain ran to her and inspected the wound and her hands, which were no longer bleeding.

"It's not too deep. I don't have much experience in medicine but I could perform some first aid," she said. She took the bottom of her precious blue coat and ripped the bottom off into a strip, then swathed it around her thin stomach over the injury.

"There, that might help until we can get you properly taken care of. Now, what happened to you? Why weren't you put in a cell like the rest of us? Why is your shirt cut?"

Vanessa felt shame and embarrassment and she started to hang her head. However, she forced the unwanted emotions from her body and took a deep breath, "They, um . . . one of th-them tried to r-rape m-me, and he s-stabbed me, and t-tore my sh-shirt,"

There was a short pause before she felt arms around her frame. Vanessa's minor shame was replaced with surprise, as she had never felt such a level of affection from the captain.

"I am so sorry, Vanessa,"

His heart pounding wildly, mind still on his almost death, Jim jumped through the portal onto the planet's surface alongside Silver. He looked at the cyborg, feelings of remorse, hatred, and betrayal completely gone. He didn't have to save him, Silver could have taken the boat and leave him hanging over a pit of lava.

"Silver, you gave up?"

Silver waved away the boy's words, "Just a lifelong obsession, Jim. I'll get over it."

"Aloha, Jimmy!"

Jim gaped up as The Legacy floated down before them. Doc stood at the wheel, looking quite flustered, and Vanessa and B.E.N. were working the control panels. It was revealed that the compass in B.E.N.'s torso had a second function as he held it in his metal hand, calculating timing and trajectories on it.

"Hurry people! We've got exactly two minutes and thirty-four seconds till planet's destruction!"

"You're doing fine, Doctor," the captain directed from her spot on the floor behind him, fortunately being of sound mind after a few minutes of recuperation, "Now ease her over gently, gently!"

Doc eased the ship against the cliff, not as smoothly as the captain would have liked, crashing metal against wood and most likely leaving some scrapes. Jim pull vaulted over the edge, then grabbed the back of Silver's coat and helped to haul him over. He had backed up a few steps when something slammed into him from behind and arms came around his torso. He turned, the first thing he caught sight of being poppy red hair. Jim smiled and pulled Vanessa close to him, resting his cheek on her head.

"I'm s-so glad you're alright," she mumbled into his chest.

"Take us out of here, metal man!" Captain Amelia told B.E.N. as she slid up the mast and pushed off it,"

"Aye, Captain!"

The engines roared with fury, and the ship sailed across the planet's crumbling surface. No longer did mushroom trees and moss exist on the mythical orb. It was all metal plates, rivers of lava, laser beams, and fire. Doc zoomed in and out of the beams and fires, sweat building up on his brow and spectacles slipping down his nose.

Silver climbed halfway up the stairs and removed his black captain's cap in respect for The Legacy's real captain, "Cap'n, you dropped from the heavens in the nick of -"

"Save your claptrap for the judge, Silver!" Captain Amelia interrupted, her glare cutting through him like a knife to butter. Silver laughed uneasily as his schmoozing smile transformed into a frown.

Jim pulled back to survey Vanessa, and noticed her shirt in a different style, her hands were cut, and the bottom of the captain's coat wrapped around her waist, "What happened to you?"

"I . . . um . . . I'll t-tell you l-later," she muttered, staring down at her feet. Jim's brow furrowed in concern, but he let it go for now.

All of a sudden, a giant hunk of metal slammed into the mast just under the sail. The hunk of wood and material tumbled down, smashing one of the biggest laser cannons the ship had. The Legacy slowed down significantly.

"Missile tail demobilized, Captain. Thrusters at only thirty percent of capacity," B.E.N. informed.

"Thirty percent? That means we're – we'll never clear the planet's explosion in time," Doc discovered with a devastated tone.

Jim ran to the side of the vessel and regarded back at the still active portal. This wasn't how it was supposed to end! He was supposed to have tons of gold, at least enough to rebuild his mother's inn, and live in the lap of luxury. If he couldn't have the treasure, he sure as hell wasn't going to die now. He turned his attention to the failed missile. It appeared to have some life left in it. Maybe he could . . .

"We gotta turn around," he decided.

"What?" The captain asked.

Jim jumped from the quarterdeck to the debris, pointing behind him as he moved, "There's a portal back there. It can get us out of here,"

"Pardon me, Jim, but didn't that portal open onto a raging inferno?!" Doc questioned.

Jim rummaged around the pile of destroyed material and found a strip of metal about the size of the board on his solar surfer, "Yes, but I'm gonna change that. I'm gonna open a different door,"

Silver gawked between Jim, the destroyed laser cannon, and the portal, putting together the plan in his head. If Jim could put together a surfer that got him to the portal fast enough, maybe, just maybe, they would be able to get out of here alive.

"Captain, really, I-I just don't see how this could possibly -"

"Listen to the boy!" Silver shouted, running down the stairs to the teenager working his tail end off.

"One minute, twenty-nine seconds till planet's destruction!" B.E.N. announced.

"What do you need, Jim" Silver asked.

Jim had pulled the laser cannon onto the strip of metal. As he grabbed a length of rope, he motioned over his contraption with his free hand, "Just some way to attach this," he wrapped the rope around it, but he knew it wasn't going to hold.

"Alright, stand back. Stand back now," Silver turned his robotic arm into a welder and turned on the flame, aiming it at the contraption. In a few seconds flat the makeshift surfer was put together.

"There you go," he helped to lift the surfer onto the edge. Before he jumped onto it, he glimpsed back at Vanessa, who stood on the side with one of the most distraught expressions on his face. Jim strolled up to her and took her face gently in his hands. He looked between her golden eyes and her rose red lips. Before he could even lean in, she stood up on her toes and kissed him. It was a brief moment of affection, nonetheless her skin tingled just the same. Jim himself halted at her boldness. He recovered quickly and enfolded his arms around her waist.

When they broke apart, she whispered, "P-Please come back s-safe,"

"Of course I will. I'll see you soon," he whispered back, stroking her cheek. He kissed her on the forehead, and then hopped onto his surfer. He gazed at Silver, his facial features contorted in determination, "Okay, now, no matter what happens, keep the ship heading straight for that portal,"

"Fifty-eight seconds!" B.E.N. declared.

Jim stared at Silver, willing him to say he would do everything in his power to do as he asked. Silver grimaced, not knowing if he would be able to, but knowing he would certainly try. Jim sighed and turned away, kick starting the missile and speeding off. He had a little trouble controlling it, however, within seconds he turned around and headed straight for the portal.

"Well, you heard him! Get his blasted heap turned around!" Silver ordered.

Captain Amelia pondered the idea before speaking, "Doctor, head us back to the portal,"

Doc exhaled hesitantly, "Aye, Captain,"

"Ms. Kendrick, I want you up here helping B.E.N. on the control,"

"Yes, Captain,"

Jim felt in his natural element, the wind running through his hair and clothes, the high speeds, the head rising up. It took all his power not to go off his war pat. He sped through the slabs of metal and blasts of fire with blinding rapidity and precision. He kept the portal in sight at all times, increasing his speed as much as he possibly could. He had to speed up, he wouldn't be able to make it! None of them would!

Vanessa scrambled on the upper deck, checking the planet's temperatures, incoming projectiles, and the time until their impending doom. The Doctor himself was having a hard time bobbing and weaving to avoid flying wreckage.

"Down on the right! The right!" Captain Amelia shouted.

"I know! I know! Will you just let me drive?!" he retorted, putting her in a semi-permanent shock.

"Twenty-five seconds!"

The teenage girl left her post to check on Jim's position. He spend along below, and it almost looked like he was going to make it, until his missile failed to work. He pressed on the trigger with the heel of his foot, but nothing he did, no matter how much strength he put in his stomp, it wouldn't work.

"No! NO!" Jim yelled. His surfer lost altitude above a crack in the planet's surface, over a river of lava. He desperately stamped on the trigger, feeling his heart stop and fear pierce his very soul.

"Jim?!" Vanessa screamed, her eyes widening. Fear injected into her as well. She could feel her lip tremble, her legs quake in her boots, "Come on, Jim! Come on! You can make it!"

"Come on, lad," Silver murmured desperately.

Jim disappeared from her sight. She felt tears welling in her eyes. The ship passed over the crack he fell in, and she ran to the other side to see if he had made it out, which he hadn't.

Please be alright! Please make it out alive!

But as they came closer and closer to the portal, Jim hadn't reappeared. Vanessa started to hyperventilate, falling to her knees and clutching her head as if she were in serious pain. The tears fell down her cheeks at a rapid pace, and she screamed his name over and over.

"Seventeen seconds!"

Morph whined and closed his eyes. Silver hung his head, like he'd already given up.

"Seven!"

"Six!"

"Five!"

Doc headed straight toward the portal, toward what he called the "raging inferno." His jaw was set, teeth grinding together. He closed his eyes and tensed up, waiting to crash and explode.

"Four!"

"Three!"

"Two!"

"JIM!"
