DISCLAIMER! (-_- LIKE WE DON'T KNOW)
"Gokudera!" Said person turned to see Yamamoto running to her, his hand waving the papers they held around. "Guess what!" He excitedly exclaimed.
Knowing to take the silence as a sign to go on, he did just so. "The guys' P.E class' going on a sports camp!" His smile wide.
Of course, not interested, Gokudera turned back to her book but was only greeted with a camping registration. Looking up, she saw that oh so wide grin. She closed the book, the paper inside and turned her attention to the idiot, in her opinion, standing in front of her desk, grinning like there was no tomorrow.
"And?"
"I thought you'd like it so I signed you up." He answered, of course smile unfaltering.
"Why would you think that?" Surprisingly, she calmly asked.
"You good in sports right? You have to love it a lot to be that good in it."
"Since I've been here, I have never participated in whatever the class had. If I loved it, I would've been attentive to it." Ignoring the other's thinking 'pose', Gokudera snapped her fingers and directed Yamamoto's attention to his bag with her finger then to the desk, indicating for his books.
Yamamoto just stared confusedly at her though the other didn't make a single move to clear his confusion. Waiting for him to understand and showing she wasn't going to tell him, Gokudera leaned back in the chair in a relaxing pose, arms and legs folded.
After about two-three minutes, Yamamoto finally noted her intentions and instantly pulled out his books, laying them on the table in front of him and oblivious to the throbbing vein on the other's temple.
Gokudera tried calming down as Yamamoto grabbed another chair for himself and lined it opposite her and was.. somewhat successful.
"What are your subjects?" She asked.
"Hmm.." He thought. "P.E, Home Economics, POB, Math, English, Japanese and IT. (Math, English and Japanese are automatically included subjects.)
"What exactly do you want to be?" Curious at the random subjects thrown to her, she asked.
"A baseball player!" She sighed.
"Typical." She muttered. But though it was covered pretty well, Gokudera felt a tinge of sadness radiate off him for a split second. "Then why did you pick the other subjects?" She asked decided not to prod on further.
"The kid said I could pick three and he'd decide the other. So I picked P.E, Home Ec. and POB for my dad's restaurant and he said he liked the choices. He never told me why he chose IT for me."
"Well, whatever. Go to the staff's office and ask for your subjects' test papers from beginners on my behalf."
"But we can't-"
"Just say I requested it."
"But-"
"Go. Now." She spat, trying to ease herself of the building irritation.
"Okay." He obliged, obviously not phased from her commanding tone.
As Yamamoto exited, Gokudera sighed. She re-opened her book and pulled out he intruding paper, scanning it.
"If he goes, you are also needed to be of presence with him. You are his tutor."
Gokudera grumbled at the voice and comment. Turning to the side with the windows, she saw a baby dressed in a wise man's wear.
She stared at him for a while before ignoring it completely. "Why are you here?" She asked.
"To observe the minds of youngsters these days." Though she just listened with a dulled look as the baby spoke in an old shaky tone.
"Whatever.: She brushed him off. "And it doesn't matter if I'm his tutor. Whether I want to or not is up to me."
"So you admit to being his tutor."
"I never wanted to be it in the first place. You're-"
Reborn shrugged cutting her off. "I remember not of that self-fact." Gokudera's eye twitched at his 'innocent' statement.
"Gokudera! I got the paper!" Shouted Yamamoto from just a distance of two metres. Gokudera's eye repeated its shaky movements from the unnecessary loudness.
Yamamoto dodged to the side form a face-pointed pen intently and quickly aiming to his head which was now lodged into the wall behind him.
Turning back to Gokduera, he saw her arm along with her fingers stretching out to his direction.
Reborn smirked as she lowered her arm, knowing full well that was done on pure instinct. "Don't be so damn loud. I'm right here." She said obviously annoyed and uncaring of the accidental attack.
"Haha, sorry." He casually walked back to the desk. "Oh, who's that? He looks like one of the kid's friends." Gokudera just watched him in a 'You-can't-be-serious...' look to which, of course, went unnoticed by him.
"Hello there, young boy." Reborn spoke. Gokudera watched him in a 'Don't-play-along' way which, of course, went noticed by the baby though had no effect whatsoever.
"Hi there!" Yamamoto was attacked by a book landing harshly on his head, swaying him a bit. "Haha, sorry." He sheepishly apologized, rubbing the assaulted area.
"My, my, what a cruel behaviour." The baby cut in. Gokudera just watched him with a scowl and threw a pencil his way, obviously annoyed of the stupidity travelling around.
Reborn smirked and used his the cane he held to swap the tip of the pencil to an 180, sending it back to its deploy-er. Gokudera took one of Yamamoto's books and held it in the stationary's line of attack.
Not even phased at the deeply lodged pencil, Gokudera set down the slugged book in front of the surprised Yamamoto and ignored the smirking old ma-baby.
"We're starting now. Sit." Gokudera said, catching Yamamoto a bit off-guard but he obeyed. "As I've said before, I'll be doing this my way." He smiled widely and her and gave an excited nod. 'Idiot.' She sighed. "Hand me your Math test." She scanned through the paper. "Bring me your bag."
Though confused at her request, Yamamoto obliged.
Receiving her requested object, she searched through it and finding what she wanted, Gokudera pulled it out, leaving an even more confused Yamamoto.
"Listen closely. I will not be repeating it. If you pass a copy of this test Saturday of seventy percent, then you can have a free request. But, if you fail, you can say goodbye to these." She held up two baseball tickets for the Final Match which is also said to be the best and one of the time's greatest playout in the history of baseball.
Yamamoto's expression turned from confusion to horrified but slowly nodded his head nevertheless.
Throughout the week, Gokudera studied with Yamamoto despite the murder-tempting, hair-pulling moments, Gokudera made it through and more importantly, so did Yamamoto.
It's the morning of the assigned test for Yamamoto. Gokudera made a different layout, more like a completely different test but still relating to the subjects from it.
Yamamoto sat in the dining chair of Gokudera's apartment, waiting for her to hand him the test.
As Gokudera laid his test in front of him, Yamamoto wasted no time in starting even though there was no time limit.
"Not bad." Gokudera commented scanning through Yamamoto's completed test. Seeing the anxious look on Yamamoto's face, Gokudera smiled a bit and continued. "Eighty-six. Congratulations." She repeated as his expression to see confusion mixed with surprise. "Eighty-six percent. You pass."
Gokudera almost snickered a bit when the other released a relieved breath.
"Haya-chan!" Was the first thing the two heard after the slamming of Gokudera's door. Etsuko was seen running in, looking around for called person and spotting her, he wasted no time in getting to her.
"Change of pla-! Takeshi-nii!" Etsuko exclaimed as he spotted his cousin nearby the other. "This makes it easier then."
"What does?" Gokudera asked.
"Well, there's been just a tiny change of plans." He closed one eye and pinched his forefinger and thumb together for emphasis.
"Like?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Well, instead of six, we moved the.. um.. date.. to the next twenty minutes." He explained, blushing at his chosen words.
"Eh? How come?" Asked Yamamoto, tilting his head.
"Well, when I told Grandma about how you guys agreed to.. supervise me," He forced the word out. "She was okay with it but when I told her when, she refused, saying it was too late and I could easily sneak out without you two noticing.. She exaggerates things..."
"Haha, that's just like her. For my first date, she stared down the girl saying her instinct was telling her the girl was just out to murder me. She was waiting for the moment for her to 'reveal her knife and her hidden intentions'. So when the girl picked up a knife and a fork to eat the steak, Ma tied her with a rope until she confessed. Haha!"
While Gokudera watched Yamamoto with a disturbed expression, Etsuko stared in horror. "Though her parents came to get her when it was late and law suited me and Ma to never come within thirty feet of her." He said, his index tapped at his chin and gaze in wonderment, recalling the events of the past. "But it was fun and Ma treated me to some ice-cream after too so, all's well that ends well, right?" He smiled his dopey smile.
"S-so what did the girl say?" Etsuko asked, gulping as he awaited the answer.
"Oh, she said she wanted to transfer schools and if she ever saw me again, she'll call the cops. But her and her family seemed to get angrier when me and Ma just laughed it off."
"N-no wonder Grandma favours you so much..."
"Haha!"
'Yamamoto Takeshi.. A philosophized formidable foe...' Gokudera mentally commented, vigilantly glancing at the baseball enthusiast.
"What do I do? What if Grandma decided to pull something like that?" He worriedly panicked.
"I thought you said she was going out?" Gokudera asked.
"Yeah, like an hour after the date starts." Etsuko replied, still in his panicked state.
'Ah, I see.' Gokudera smirked. 'Not just a 'kook' but a clever one.'
"Oh! Why don't me and Gokudera distract her until she has to leave?" Gokudera deeply sighed, closed her eyes and palmed half of her upper face while Etsuko just sweatdropped.
"And I though Math would've been the hardest for you. That's why I started off with it.." She whined to herself. "Genius, if we both distract her, who'd serve them?"
"That's true." Yamamoto replied. "Then I'll distra-"
"Haya-chan'll distract Grandma. Takeshi-nii, you can do the cooking." Gokudera raised an eyebrow at Etsuko. "Just.. I want sushi and Takeshi-nii can make the second best in the world. The first being Uncle's." He quickly covered to which Gokudera just rolled her eyes to.
"Haha, no problems here."
"Thanks guys." Etsuko showered them a smile. "Okay, here's the plan."
"Takenaka-san, I've heard from Renodo-san from the neighbouring street that his apartment surpasses yours." Gokudera said from the lady now entering the restaurant-like area that is used for the attendants.
"Grandma has a serious competitive streak and a deep hatred for the owner of the apartments next street. So all you need to do is accuse him of insulting her apartment and she'll be as good as gone after him for about half an hour. Renodo-san wouldn't even think of what we put him up for and just argue back since she'll start insulting him back."
"What?! Please, as if he can say that. He just
supervises little shacks that are usually occupied by those disgusting insects! I have a mind to set him straight of a thing or two." She said and hauled off out of the building and to her appointed destination.
"That's very sly Etsu."
"She's gone." Gokudera signalled, watching as the two boys entered the room.
"There are times when I need to be. Now after she's gone, inform us. Yamamoto and I will pick Yuko-chan up and be back before Grandma leaves. Still call out even if we haven't arrived yet."
Out from behind the boys came a timid looking girl. Well, who can blame her considering she's stuck in a room with three boys.. well.. on the outside. Yamamoto stood aside as Etsuko lead the way to a table position in the middle of the room, dressed with the utmost delicacies of utensils and serving settings, laid upon a seductive red clothing.
"Haya-chan, you'll serve as both the waiter and the look-out for when Grandma comes back and when she does, execute plan B and by that time, she'll have to leave."
Etsuko pulled out one of the two seats surrounding the table and allowed the girl, Yuko, to sit. As she does, he pushes the chair in a bit, settling her comfortably.
"Why do you sound so intelligent when your dealing with secret stuff like this?" Gokudera asked.
He then moved opposite her, also in angle of a viewpoint of the kitchen, settling himself.
"Because this deals with great importance. If taken lightly I wouldn't have been so successful at every attempt I've made.. well almost every attempt, thanks to you, Haya-chan." He pouted.
"Today, the course will be the underwater delicacies. If that fine with you, Mi lady?" Etsuko asked his companion situated in front of him, smiled at the blush he was given and ignorant to the suspicious eyebrow emphasizing the eye studying him.
'Mi lady? Don't tell me he has some wits on romance.' Gokudera thought.
"N-no, that perfectly fine." Yuko replied.
"I do what I can." Gokudera replied, trying to tame the 'moe' beast trying to escape from Etsuko's pouting actions. Etsuko sighed while Yamamoto just stared blankly at the two with an innocent smile.
Turning her head to the kitchen, Gokudera saw Yamamoto smiling at her. She returned her gaze back upon the couple and closed into them.
"May I attain anything, Sir, Madam?" Gokudera asked, bowing and gracefully resting her left hand to her left chest and her right arm tucked neatly behind her back.
"N-no, t-that's quite alright." Yuko spoke her blush darkening.
"Very well then. And you, Sir?" She asked in an elegant and suave manner, turning to Etsuko for the answer to her question.
"C-could you just bring water for us until lunch is ready?" He replied, a bit taken aback by the sudden change in the waiter's demeanour.
"Understood." She straightened. "Please enjoy appraising this musical interlude we have prepared for your wait and my time in enhancing the setting."
"S-setting?" Asked Etsuko but was answered by Gokudera's actions instead.
Gokudera walked to behind the counter, in front of the kitchen and in a few seconds, the voice of a supple violin, a poised piano and a fluent cello, engender an exquisite symphony.
She then slid to all openings of their surroundings and pulled a rope resting in front of them. She pulled all the tails of them and a heavy, red curtain fell over the outdoor communication portals, defying any light to permit its way through. Only the dimly lit bulbs accenting the ceiling added life to the room.
In accordance, she followed along into the kitchen where an awe-struck Yamamoto was stationed.
While Yamamoto was dressed in just apron over his clothes, Gokudera wore an all black outfit under a white, unstained apron.
"H-how did you do that?" He asked, his eyes refusing to abandon the scene before him.
"I set it up earlier in the week. I finish any required work early." She answered. Yamamoto was finally able to tear his eyes away from the scene only to be greeted by another, startling him a bit.
"You're not wearing your sunglasses?"
"You idiot, I can't wear that in here." She replied walking over to the refrigerator and grabbing two glasses along the way.
"Oh, right."
"Well?" Gokudera stated matter of factly.
"Huh?"
"Get to work."
"Oh, right. Haha, sorry." Though Gokudera just rolled her eyes.
Badump
Yamamoto's heart reacted from Gokudera's actions.
Gokudera stopped in the midst of pouring the water as she felt someone's eyes on her. Turning, she saw Yamamoto staring at her in astonishment.
"What?" She asked raising a brow. It seemed her comment snapped the boy out of his reverie resulting with a light blush creeping onto him against his will.
"Oh.. Ah.. Sorry.. Ha ha.." Though Gokudera just watched him suspiciously.
"Whatever." She said and walked passed him with two water-filled glasses to the other room.
After a few minutes, Yamamoto caught himself staring through the door Gokudera exited to her. "The food!" He caught himself once more and scurried along to the sink to start the preparations.
