Late? Wha? Psshh~ Please, I was so on time. I mean, a month late? Like, ha, somebody's dreaming~ It's only been.. you know, like.. an amount of days. It's just that I was so on time, that time itself thought it was being f*cked therefore making you think and believe I was late, which I so was not...
..Theory.. right there for you... (I'm sooo sorry~) Perfectly on time.. Yup..
Okay.. So, um.. DISCLAIMER!
"And I kind of fell into the water, ha..ha.." Etsuko shyly told.
"So you lost you balance.. s-staring at me?" Yuko, equally shyly summed. With a nod of the other's head, her blush deepened.
"Well, surprise from the surprise-er. He has some way with the girls." Gokudera commented, smiling a bit slyly.
"..." Yamamoto stared at the other, possibly unable to hear as his sight refused to release its guest.
Both Gokudera and Yamamoto stood at the doorway of the kitchen, watching the young couple, well, one of them.
As Gokudera stood with her arms folded and eyes front, Yamamoto stood straight, eyes sided.
"What?" Gokudera asked, feeling eyes upon her.
"E-eh?" Yamamoto stuttered from the sudden question. Gokudera raised a brow, her attention now to the jock. "Oh! Um.. Just-ah... The food!" He exclaimed in attempt to abandon the topic. "T-the food. We need to prepare lunch for them! Haaha, let's get to work!" He laughed a bit nervously.
"Yamamoto." Gokudera called as she saw the other scurrying to the stove.
"Hm?" He asked, holding energy to complete his task.
"They're eating their lunch."
"... Eh?" He questioned, frozen in place.
"They're eating the lunch you made for them." She replied.
"A-haha, I know just making seconds in case and for Ma."
"They just started eating fifteen minutes ago. And you already made extras. Are you losing the only smitch of intelligence left in that void head of yours?" She watched him suspiciously.
"Haha-haha-..haa."
"What's wrong with you?"
It's not like Yamamoto could really help it. Everytime he sees her eyes, it's like he's pulled in. Tranquillized, mesmerized, it's like his entire body aflutter. Sounding as weird as it does, it sticks as fact and he can't help getting flustered and or nervous sometimes as he's talk to by her.
"Yamamoto." He snapped forth from his relative distraction to the source of it all. "Stop staring at me, you're freaking me out."
"Eh? O-oh-ha.. right." He said turning his gaze onto the happily chatting couple. 'What's wrong with me?...' Yamamoto took a secretive side glance at Gokudera whose eyes were back upon the two. 'He's a guy. And I'm a guy..' He turned his attention back to the couple. 'Could it be possible to have something like that with him...?'
Yamamoto blinked.
'Ahh! What am I thinking?!' He mentally exclaimed, ruffling his hair with both his hands.
"What's wrong with you?" Came Gokudera's voice again snapping him back.
"O-oh, ha-" Yamamoto was silenced as Gokudera walked from him and to the door, heading outside. "Gokudera?" He muttered and walked her tracks a while after.
As he opened the door, he saw Gokudera conversing with his grandmother and thought she was probably initiating 'Plan B'. When the woman ran away, in the opposite direction from her previous destination, he headed back inside, or at least was about to.
What prevented him from returning into the outdoors was a baby, he knew as Reborn, strut up to Gokudera with a solemn countenance. He couldn't make out what they were talking about but it seemed quite serious, and though the curiosity was pushing, he decided against it and carried back in.
It was just his head poking through the door but when retreating, he felt two pairs of eyes indirectly upon him, yet brushed it off.
"Alright. I accept." Was the only thing Yamamoto could make out before he was fully inside.
"Something wrong, Takeshi-nii?" Asked Etsuko and secretly sending a 'did it work?' question to him, hoping he would understand.
"No, everything's fine." Yamamoto replied with a smile.
Behind him came Gokudera walking past the other and straight to the kitchen.
"Do you guys need anything?" Yamamoto asked again. And with a 'no' from the couple, he straightened to the kitchen also.
"Hey Gokudera," He called. He stopped as he saw Gokudera reaching for the sealed bowl filled with sushi that was made for her. Yamamoto smiled and watched as the other took a seat near the counter and unsealed the container, popping a salmon roll into her mouth.
"So how is it?" He asked moving closer.
Gokudera looked at Yamamoto then continued on with her meal. "Normal." But he could see the hidden content on her though it was concealed quite well, he just felt it like an aura.
"Oh, right! Almost forgot. You'll be coming to the Sports camp, right?" He said with growing hope in his voice only to be-
"No."
-Shattered down. "Why not?" He whined.
"Because I don't want to." She simply replied, chomping on a wiener.
"But.. Please?" He cried, carrying a tone that was starting to pester Gokudera.
"No."
"Please, please?"
"I said no."
"Please, please, please?" Gokudera just ignored him from then on, continuing with her meal which Yamamoto knew to take as a 'No'.
"Please, please, please, please, please~?" He whined even more. Despite the obvious growing annoyance in the other, Yamamoto continued on.
50 seconds- Non stop..
1 minute- Not a break..
2 minutes- Failure to cease..
3 minutes-
"Ow!" Yamamoto cried out in pain as a saucer met his forehead. "Why did you do that?" He pouted.
"You're annoying!" Gokudera exclaimed trying to stay calm but failing miserably.
He tried rubbing the sore spot in hopes of easing the pain but it wasn't really immediately successful. "Oh!" He suddenly exclaimed throwing Gokudera off a bit. "I've got an idea!"
"Do you now?" She said with a few hints of sarcasm lacing her voice but still kept her curious and cautious glance at the other. Though, if she squints or may not need to, she can see a little baby-like-Yamamoto smiling like never before. Resembling what they call a 'chibi'.
"Yeah!" Yamamoto nodded his head in eager and excitement. "For the entire camp I won't annoy you so you can just enjoy it."
Gokudera sighed. "Why do you want me to go so badly?" She asked.
"Because it'll be fun with you there too. Plus you don't seem like someone who goes out on like group adventures or anything to do with crowds, right?" Taking her silence as a yes, he continued. "So now you can see what's it's like and have fun." He said, grinning from ear to ear. 'And it's a whole lot better whenever you're around.'
"You're not going to give up, are you?"
"Nope!" He replied, determination radiating off him in waves.
Gokudera sighed once more. "Fine."
"Ye-!"
"But," She cut in. "I'm leaving once you or that camp pisses me off, understand?"
"Mhm!" He eagerly nodded. "By the way,"
"What now?" She asked laying her food on the counter and going over to the fridge for a drink.
"How do I stop being annoying?"
.
.
.
"Ow!" He still kept that innocent look on even as a cold bottled water flew to his same abused spot.
"Don't make a deal with someone when you don't even know how to fulfil it!"
"But~!" He whined.
"Honestly. My world centres around idiots." She mumbled.
"What are you doing?!" They heard Etsu shout. Running out into the dining room they found the unexpected.
Yamamoto and Gokudera stared at the old woman they know as the cousins' grandmother and Gokudera's landlady holding Etsu's date up by her dress' collar with interrogating eyes.
"Ma!" Yamamoto called. Turning to her eldest grandson, she restored some calmness within herself.
"Oh, Tashi!" She replied to his call and released the girl who ran to Etsu's side.
Hearing a snicker from beside him, Yamamoto turned only to see Gokudera willing her head opposite him and trying to contain possibly a series of laughter. He blushed as he realized why when she muttered his grandmother's nickname for him.
"Ohh, look at you in that apron! You're so cute!" She commented heading off to him.
"M-ma.." As Yamamoto's grandmother approached him, she held his head in her hands and kissed both his cheeks then pinched them. Hearing the fit of suppressed laughter beside him, his blush darkened.
"You should've been out here watching them. I know you wouldn't allow such an abomination to do such an unsanitary.. thing." She said with disgust, glancing to the side and sending a glare to the frightened girl hiding behind Etsu.
"Huh?" He asked confused.
"And what did they do?" Gokudera asked. Out of her laughter battle.
"She was hugging my sweet boy, trying to take him on her side, I'm sure." His grandmother said, turning her whole body to glare at the girl.
"Her side?" Gokudera asked again.
"Ma, Yuko-san isn't a bad girl." Yamamoto said.
"Are you sure, Tashi? She seems like one to me." She said, keeping herself facing the girl.
"Really? I thought she was nic-ow-.." Yamamoto's voice reacted when Gokudera smacked the back of his head but was muffled as she covered her hand on his mouth to not draw attention from his grandmother. She then pulled on his back collar, drawing him further from his grandmother in hopes of a private conversation.
"It's still sometimes a surprise at how ridiculous you are." She exasperatingly said. "Do you realize the power you hold in this situation?" She asked, not noticing the blush on the other at their little 'private' moment.
"P-power? What do you mean?"
"Your grandmother seems to agree with you easily. So you have the ability to convince her to accept their relationship without any illegal assumptions, actions or court dates." She exasperatingly said, remembering Yamamoto story.
"Really?" Yamamoto asked a bit surprised.
"Yes. Now go out there and convince your grandmother otherwise." She said and pushed him a bit forward.
"O-okay." Ignoring, or just blatantly unaware of the gruesome glare shooting from his grandmother to the trembling girl behind Etsu, Yamamoto walked up and called for his grandma's attention. "Ma!" Having all eyes on him now, he spoke up. "Ma, I support Etsu and Yuko-san's relationship."
"But Tashi, don't you think she's-"
"Yuko-san's a nice girl, so I think they're great for each other. We have been serving them all this time so-"
"-So she is a pleasant girl." His grandmother commented with a much peaceful demeanour and you can see little Etsu and Gokudera incredulously gawking at the bi-polar attitude of the elder. "If Tashi accepts you, then you must be a wonderful girl. Dear, why don't you come out and continue your lovely lunch." She said to Yuko, a smile of a sweet elderly gracing her features. "You know, why don't I leave you two alone. I'll be home if any of you need me. It was nice meeting you, Yuko-chan, right?" Receiving a hesitant nod from the girl, she carried on to Yamamoto.
"Thanks, Ma." Yamamoto said, matching her big smile.
"Of course, my little adorable Tashi." His grandmother said in a smothered baby tone and walked out, leaving a happy Yamamoto, a confused as hell Yuko, and a gaping Gokudera and Etsu.
"I knew she might have accepted but that smoothly? There was not even a valid fight or stand..." Yamamoto heard Gokudera murmur behind him.
"Um.. Yuko-chan.. Are you okay?" They both heard and saw a visibly scared or probably scarred Yuko slowly nodding her head.
"Umm.. I'm-.. I'm really sorry about my grandma!" Etsu exclaimed, bowing lowly. "I don't know if you would want to see me again and might not want to be near me but I really hope you won't hate me, if it's possible! But it doesn't look like she hates you.. anymore so.." He said the last with a bit of noticeable hope.
Recovering from her surprised look, Yuko walked back to her chair and picked her stuff up.
As Etsu peaked up, he saw her throwing her jacket on and grabbing her little purse but the one thing that saddened him was the emotionless-like expression. "Yuko-chan?" He called, straightening.
She turned her back and walked to the exit despite the calls from behind her.
Etsu watched frozen as his crush and possible chances of filling his heart's wishes and contents walked right out the door without so much as a glance back.
"Yuko-chan.." He whispered, eyes glued to the door.
"Etsu.." Gokudera mumbled.
"Etsuko.." Yamamoto followed. As he was about to step forward, closer to Etsuko, Gokudera stuck her arm out in front of him, preventing him from continuing further. Turning to her, he saw her shook her head., indirectly telling him, 'Not now, not yet' to which he agreed.
They both turned their attention back to the person of interest, watching whatever moves he makes. They just stood, looking off sympathetically, saddened as the slumped figure spun towards them and passed by, moving to the way from the kitchen's exit which exists as a short-cut to his house.
"Ah~! This is amazing!" Yamamoto excitedly exclaimed as he stepped out of a bus marked for school trips to the introduction or meeting of the campus they'll be staying at for a while.
The first they were greeted with was an office, a booth on the right side after entering the gate, gardens flourishing around the office, and beyond all of that was the meaning of it all. Larger buildings stationed around and labelled, like to the far left held a white building in the shape of a dome with 'Indoor Soccer Field' written on it. The dome was about 200 feet long and 80 feet wide. Basically the entire campus could not be seen nor measured to hint how large it was.
"Nothing 'Amazing' to me." Came the voice of Gokudera as she exited the bus.
"Come on!" He said ignoring her comment and, of course, dragging her to the administration's office where their coach and a few of the students were.
"All right, listen up!" The coach addressed. "Since we'll be staying here for a week, and they also have career trainees here, there isn't much cabins for every one of you so you'll be bunking with the other. They've already moved the second beddings into each cabin and I'll be assigning you your partner." He said and pulled out a folder containing the names of everyone. "They'll be showing us around tomorrow so you guys can settle in and scout the area for the rest of the day if you want."
Searching through some papers, he finally stopped, looked it over then started talking, putting who with who. "Alright. Akiyama Hisao will be with Fujimoto Shiro..."
"What are you doing?" Yamamoto heard from beside him.
"I'm excited. This is the first time I've ever been to a camp." He replied, a grin like no other on him and looking around frantically, taking every aspect in and missing the sigh from the other.
"Gokudera Hayato will be with..." Gokudera sighed again, so not in the mood for this. "Goto Toshio. Guionu Mitsuo will be with..."
"So he's doing it alphabetically. The best laziest way for organization." Yamamoto heard Gokudera say.
'That sucks. I was actually hoping to get Gokudera..' He sulked.
"And Yamamoto Takeshi will be with.. Yoshida Satoru. From A-M; take Dorm 6 and N-Z Dorm 7. Sort by surname initials. Now head out." The coach instructed and left with the assistant manager.
Turning to his side, Yamamoto realized Gokudera had already left the building. So he met up with his cabin partner and headed to his room to unpack.
Yamamoto wandered around the campus, amazed by it all. Everything was in the style of professionals.
'This is so cool! They have both indoor and outdoor sports. Indoor football, basketball, swimming and outdoor football, basketball, swimming and I'm pretty sure I missed like 50 others! I can't imagine what the baseball field is like.' He excitedly and inaudibly voiced.
"Aright! I'm gonna make these two weeks the best in my entire life!" He exclaimed, pumped. "And I'll definitely let Gokudera experience how awesome this'll be. Weird feelings aside, this will be the best camp ever! He's gonna love it!" Yamamoto said, obviously determined.
Passing by the last and furthest building which is labelled to be the storage, he caught a glimpse of a shimmer from behind.
Rounding the corner, he found a dazed Gokudera, sitting on the edge of a pier innocently atop a lake surrounded by two large mountains for a complete circle. For how big it was, it would probably take half an hour for a speedboat to round about.
"Hey, Gokudera!" He called running to the other. "What are you doing here?" He asked finally caught up though she just ignored him.
"Ah~ This place is soo amazing, it even has a lake!" Yamamoto said, staring out to it. "The water looks really nice."
"You're just like a child." She said.
"Haha! That's true! I feel like one!" Interested, he bent on his knees for a better look into the water. "It's so heavy. You can't see much." He commented.
"It's a lake, not a pool. It's doubtful to be able to see the bottom from above."
"It's weird. Some you can see crystal clear, some you can't." Yamamoto said, propping himself on all fours to stare at the water comfortably and a bit closer."
"If it's shallow, it's bound to be crystal, once it's clean though. If it's deep, it'll be thick. Basically, the deeper the darker." Gokudera stated.
"Oh, I see." He slurred, a fundamental and childish smile spreading across his face. "Gokudera knows so much!" He said turning to her.
"It's normal knowledge."
"Haha, probably. Oh, I know," He suddenly jumped up, earning a weird look from the other. "Let's go check out the swimming pool! It's probably awesome! Come on!" He nagged, updated excitement coursing through him.
Gokudera sighed and got up. But as she did, she felt a tug on her collar, abruptly throwing her back.
Yamamoto swore he saw a lock of silver or possibly grey as Gokudera was engulfed by the water, back-first.
"Gokudera?!... Gokudera!" Yamamoto shouted, starting to worry as he received no response. It was the sight of a crawling creature that blasted his worry into fear causing him to frantically call the other's name.
As Gokudera fell into the water, she felt the wig she had slip off, releasing her natural hair. Quickly, she grabbed hold of it and sink herself a bit lower for the sake of not being seen. She can swim to a free side of the lake and since she has great stamina, she has no worries for her oxygen.
She was a bit closer to a wall of rock in front of her which hosted something that intrigued her. But all of a sudden, her name was hastily chanted through the water. She spun herself to head for clear land only to be filled with the urge to slap herself for her idiocy.
It was swimming towards her, targeting her either because it was not happy about visitors or its hunger strike was on edge of blasting away to nothingness,
Hayato watched as a very matured crocodile made its way to her, already baring its teeth before it's even two feet to her.
She just stared at it as it closed into her. Unmoving.
Finally, it was up to her, widening its mouth for its meal. And as it was about to chomp down, it's mouth was stopped halfway.
Hayato stood with one foot holding up the roof of its mouth and the other holding down the bottom with her shoes which cause absolutely no harm to her. She reached up inside her jeans to her ankle and pulled out a hand-knife, flung it through the crocodile and immediately sprinted away.
The crocodile thrashed about while blood spurted out of its mouth then falling to the floor of the lake.
She watched as mixed water and blood filled in front of her, sinking and rising. She was about to swim to where she was going to before she was interrupted when she suddenly felt eyes upon her.
Hayato again spun only to be seen by a very surprised and frozen Yamamoto. 'Crap..' She cursed knowing full well that she was not in the appearance of a guy.
Then suddenly...
She felt it. She felt furious and desperate movements from the right. Turning, she saw that same crocodile twitching, coming to the direction of the other who has not yet noticed.
Hayato immediately grabbed her knife from her other leg and swam to the other. Just then, Yamamoto caught his senses and realized the danger approaching him.
It was unstable, the reptile looked engorged and flooding in anger, set on its target whether it was its previous or not. Ready. Set.
