I'm back. Let me just say I'm kinda embarrassed that my last chapter didn't get any reviews. Well, hope I get reviews in this new chapter. Who will win? Teikoku or Raimon? Read and find out!
Chapter 6: The Finals! Teikoku vs Raimon
There was a sense of excitement in the air as the Teikoku Eleven got in their gear. Finally, they get to play a clean match in the finals, using their strengths and not relying on their former commander's dirty schemes.
Kakashi stood in front of them, a proud look in his eyes. Ino, Hinata and Haku stood beside him, all looking ready to support them.
"Alright team," he said, getting their attention. "Remember, to just give it your all out there, and you won't have any regrets."
"Hai, coach!" his team exclaimed with excited smiles. Kakashi walked back as Ino stepped forward, holding her clipboard.
"Okay, here are the teams!" she declared as the team paid attention. "Defenders are Gojou Masaru, Banjou Kazumich and Oono Densuke," the three grinned when they heard their names. "Midfielders are Kidou Yuuto, Henmi Wataru, Narukami Kenya and Sakiyama Ahuuji," Kidou smirked as Henmi, Narukami and Sakiyama high fived. "Forwards are Jimon Daiki, Sakuma Jirou and Namikaze Naruto." Naruto grinned as he fists bump Sakuma and Fudou. "Goal Keeper is Genda Koujirou." Genda punched his palm as Naruto patted him on the back.
With that, the team exited the locker rooms. They walked through the halls and towards the bright light at the end, where the field was. When they walked out the field, they were greeted with cheers from the audience. Naruto looked at the large audience, holding banners of either Teikoku or Raimon.
He looked at the opposite side of the field and grinned as he saw Raimon, who were warming up. He saw Endou, who was talking to Gouenji and Ichinose. He also noticed that they have a new teammate. A guy with white hair with black rings under his eyes.
"That must be their new player, Yamino Kageto, or Shadow," Kiduo said as he stood next to Naruto. "It's because of him that Raimon got the upper hand over Kidokawa Seishuu."
"They keep getting stronger from every match they have," Naruto commented. He then noticed Gouenji and his eyes widened. Kidou noticed the look and was about to ask what was wrong when Naruto started walking towards Gouenji. "Captain?"
"Hey, you!" Naruto called, getting Gouenji's attention. "I wanna ask you something."
"What is it?" Gouenji asked as his friends all looked at Naruto, serious expressions on their faces. Naruto pointed at Gouenji before he pointed at his socks.
"Where'd you get those socks, 'tebbayo?!" he asked. Gouenji sweat dropped as his teammates face planted. Kidou sweat dropped as he stared at his captain.
"Why do you want to know?" Gouenji asked.
"Because it's orange," Naruto replied simply. That just made the sweat dropped larger.
"Captain! It's time to line up," Kidou said as he grabbed Naruto by the back of his jersey and drag him back to their side of the field, ignoring his protests.
Everyone watched as the two teams lined up at the center of the field. Naruto walked forward and faced Endou. The two friends were grinning widely. The two shook hands as the referee walked towards them.
"I've been looking forward to this, Mamoru," Naruto said as they let go.
"Me too, Naruto," Endou said with a wide grin. "We finally get to play on the same field."
"Though we didn't think it'd be as opponents," Naruto said as he turned to the referee. "Tails."
The referee flipped the coin before he caught it and placed it on his arm. He then looked at the coin and gestured at Teikoku to get the first ball. With the ball in hand, Naruto walked towards their side of the field and Raimon did the same.
"Welcome everybody to the finals of the Football Frontier!" Oushou exclaimed excitedly. As the crowd cheered, the Teikoku Eleven were huddled up for one last pep talk. "It's been a hectic season, and we're all pretty excited to see this match! Teikoku Academy, the returning champions three years in a row, vs Raimon Junior High, who were the champions forty years ago! Will Teikoku claim their fourth win in a row, or will Raimon reclaim its lost fame after decades of waiting?"
"Now remember, everyone," Naruto said as his team were huddled together. "We play it with everything we got, and more! And think of it as revenge to Raimon! Revenge for them stealing your girlfriends…but we don't have girlfriends, so let's use another motivation. Hahahaa!"
"Don't laugh at lonely peoples' sadness!" half of his teammates exclaimed angrily at their laughing captain. Kidou sweat dropped at them before Naruto calmed down.
"Anyway, like Coach Kakashi said, let's not have any regrets!" Naruto said with a grin. "Whether we win or lose, we just give it everything we've got!"
"Right!" his team roared before rushing to their positions.
"Okay, you guys!" Endou said as his team huddled together. His team were Gouenji, Kurimatsu, Ichinose, Kazemaru, Kabeyama, Someoka, Domon, Shourinji, Matsuno and Shishido. "This is the finals; the moment we've been waiting for. We may have faced Teikoku before, but they're different than they were before, but so are we! Let's give it everything we've got!"
"Hai!" they shouted.
With the audience, Kushina and Mito, who was holding Tomo, were waiting for the match to begin. Kushina smiled as she remembered being down there when it was her and Minato's match. Looking at Naruto, he looked so much like his father.
"Kushina?" a voice said on her right. She turned and saw a woman with brown hair and brown eyes holding a bag.
"Atsuko-chan? My, it's been so long!" Kushina said with a smile as the woman sat next to her. "How have you been?"
"I'm fine," Atsuko said before looking down on the field. "It's been a long time since our sons played soccer together."
"It is," Kushina said with a smile. "I'm sure they're really happy about this."
"Kaa-chan, who's that?" Mito asked with a curious look as she and Tomo looked at Atsuko.
"This is an old friend of mine," Kushina said as she introduced her daughter to her friend.
On the field, the referee started the match. Once the referee blew the whistle, Naruto kicked the ball to Jimon, who kicked it to Kidou. He then kicked the ball to Sakuma.
"Midfielders, to the sides!" Kidou ordered.
"Forwards, with me!" Naruto shouted as he charged forward, leading Sakuma and Jimon.
"Seems like Teikoku is starting their attack!" Oushou declared.
"Like we're gonna let you!" Someoka exclaimed as he and Gouenji charged towards the Forwards. Gouenji's eyes widened when Naruto smirked.
"Gotcha!" Naruto exclaimed. "Hissatsu Tactics: Cross Paths!"
"Hissatsu Tactics?" Endou said in a confused tone.
To everyone's shock, the Midfielders and Forwards started running in a cross pattern. The ball kept changing dribbler. First, Sakuma had it, then Kidou, then to Wataru, back to Sakuma, to Jimon then to Naruto before to Kidou.
Someoka and Gouenji couldn't move, since they couldn't follow the ball. No matter how much they try, they couldn't get it. Soon, Sakiyama got the ball pass the two Forwards.
"We won't let you pass!" Ichinose shouted as he, Matsuno and Shourinji charged towards Sakiyama.
"Hissatsu Tactics: Cross Paths!" Naruto shouted. Just like before, the ball was passed by the players running in a cross pattern. Ichinose, Matsuno and Shourinji couldn't move as the ball kept changing players. It was like the ball kept disappearing whenever it was close to them.
"What an amazing tactic!" Oushou exclaimed as Naruto passed the last Midfielder, running towards Domon, Kabeyama and Kazemaru.
"Speedy Fox Illusion!" Naruto exclaimed. Disappearing in front of them, the Defenders were shock when Naruto appeared behind them. Naruto grinned when he was face to face with Endou. "Let's see how strong you've gotten, Mamoru!"
"Bring it on, Naruto!" Endou said as he readied himself. Naruto kicked the ball up in the air before jumping towards it, spinning.
"Maelstrom Drive!" Naruto exclaimed as he kicked the ball, covering it in swirling energy. The ball was flying towards Endou, who then raised his hand. In a flash of light, a giant hand made of yellow energy appeared.
"God Hand!" Endou exclaimed as he moved the hand forward. The Maelstrom Drive clashed with God Hand. Endou clenched his teeth as he felt Naruto's technique pushing him back.
He could see that Naruto got stronger when the first time he saw this move. But he got stronger too. With a roar, he stopped Maelstrom Drive, his hand smoking at the ball stopped moving.
"No goal!" Oushou exclaimed as the audience cheered. "Endou has stopped Namikaze's attack, but what a clash it was!"
"Are you holding back, Naruto?" Endou said with a grin.
"No, that was just a warm up," Naruto said with a chuckle. "You better get ready, cause the next one is going in."
With that, Naruto ran back to his side of the field. His teammates followed him, not really disappointed that their captain didn't get a point.
"Now it's Raimon's ball!" Oushou shouted as Endou carried the ball. "Will they get the first goal?"
Endou then kicked the ball towards Ichinose, who passed it to Someoka. He charged towards the Teikoku's side of the field with Gouenji behind him. Doing a one-two, they managed to pass by the Teikoku's Forwards and Midfielders.
Once they were close enough, they started their attack. Gouenji jumped into the air as Someoka prepared the shot.
"Dragon!" he shouted as he kicked the ball into the air, a blue dragon flying with the ball, which was heading towards a spinning Goeunji, his foot on fire.
"Tornado!" he kicked the ball, causing the dragon to turn orange, wisp of flames covering the ball. The dragon roared as it flew towards Genda, who smirked. He raised his right fist before punching the ground.
"Fire Wall!" he shouted as a wall of fire appeared in front of the goal, blocking the shot. The ball then bounced away, back towards Gouenji.
"Gouenji!" a voice shouted behind. He turned and saw Kazemaru running towards him. Understanding what to do, he ran towards his teammate, dribbling the ball. When they were closed enough, the two kicked the balls using their shins, sending it spinning upwards.
They then jumped, with Gouenji doing a bicycle kick, and kicked the ball as one.
"Honoo no Kazamidori(Flame Weather Vane!)" they shouted as a fire bird appeared behind the ball, flying towards the goal.
Genda stared at the shot before smirking. Pulling back his right arm and made a claw-gesture. He then threw his arm, twisting it.
"Spiraling Claw!" he shouted as a claw-like hand appeared, surrounded by a typhoon. The claw met the burning bird before the ball was pushed away.
"No goal!" Oushou shouted as the ball flew away.
"Endou! Domon!" Ichinose shouted as he caught the ball with his chest and ran forward.
"Right!" the two said, seeing what the plan was. As one, the three ran forward in a triangle formation, with Ichinose on the center, Endou on the right and Domon on the left. The three then intersected with the ball on the middle, causing it to spin in the air by a flaming pillar.
When the ball stopped in the air, a phoenix blazed from the ball, spreading its wings. The three players jumped towards the ball and placed their foot on it.
"The Phoenix!" they shouted as they kicked the ball towards the goal.
Genda watched the shot get closer to the goal before he grabbed his right wrist and raised his arms up. With a roar, a black panther's head appeared behind Genda.
"Beast Fang Number Two!" he shouted as the panther bite the ball. With a bright light, the Phoenix was defeated and Genda was holding down the ball.
"No way!" Ichinose exclaimed as their shit was stopped.
"The Phoenix didn't work," Domon said as he wiped the sweat off his face.
"No goal!" Oushou shouted. "Despite their insistence, Raimon doesn't get a point! What an exciting match this is!"
The crowd cheered their agreement as Genda started bouncing the ball on his hand. He was smirking at Raimon as he
"If you guys wanna score, then you have to go through me," he said with a challenging smirk. They grinned at the challenge Genda was giving.
Once the Raimon players were back in their places, Genda kicked the ball towards Kidou. Matsuno and Shourinji tried to block him, but he skillfully got past them before passing the ball to Naruto.
Naruto caught the ball before he started running towards the goal, getting past the players that tried to block him. Once he was close enough, his entire body was covered in fire.
"Fire Fox!" he shouted as he did a roundhouse kick at the ball, causing a fox-shape fire to run towards the goal. Kabeyama ran towards the shot, looking determined.
"The Wall!" he shouted a wall emerged behind him. He shouted as the shot hit the wall. He tried to stop it, but the strong shot was too much for him. The wall broke and Kabeyama was thrown off his feet. The ball was then going towards the goal, the momentum still strong.
"God Hand!" Endou shouted as went to stop the shot. The big, golden hand met the fox head on. The two techniques clashed. Endou gritted his teeth as he felt himself getting pushed back. Even when he put his other hand over his first hand, he was still getting push back.
With a roar, the fox broke through God Hand, shocking Endou. The ball flew through the side of his head.
"Goal!" Oushou exclaimed as the audience cheered loudly. "In a short amount of time, Teikoku has taken the first goal!"
Endou looked at the ball with wide eyes. He knew this was a possibility, that his God Hand could be defeated in the finals, but it was still a shock. He looked at Naruto, who was grinning at him.
"This is just the beginning, Mamoru, dattebayo," he said as he pointed at his friend. "I'll keep using my best techniques to fight you. So I expect you to give me your all too!"
Endou looked at Naruto before he started grinning himself. He sees that Naruto hasn't changed a bit. He was still the same guy who helped him with his soccer skills when they were kids. He stood up and he grinned.
"Just wait, Naruto," Endou said. "Because I still have one more technique up my sleeve."
"Well I can't wait to see it," Naruto said as he ran back to his side of the field.
Gouenji and Someoka were dribbling towards Teikoku's goal, intending to even the score. Suddenly, Narukami and Gojou ran towards them. The two lifted their legs and kicked towards them
"Double Cyclones!" they shouted as two cyclones moved towards Gouenji and Someoka. The two were blown away from the technique, causing them to drop the ball. Ichinose quickly ran forward and caught the ball, dribbling it towards the field.
He was shocked when Kidou suddenly blocked his path, his goggles glinting in the sunlight.
"Let's see how good the Mid-Field Magician is!" Kidou exclaimed. Ichinose gave a smirk, accepting the challenge. He tried to move right, Kidou got in his way. He moved left, Kidou was there again. He turned and kicked the up before running pass Kidou, who smirked as he jumped towards the ball.
His eyes widened behind his goggles as the ball suddenly curved down, right towards Ichinose.
"He predicted I would try and get the ball in the air, so he did a feint," Kidou said, impressed.
"He managed to keep up with me, I didn't know someone was this skilled here," Ichinose said with a grin as he ran passed Kidou.
"Clone Defense!" a voice shouted in front of him. He looked and saw Naruto running towards him. Three Narutos suddenly appeared and ran towards Ichinose. The first one kicked the ball towards the clone on the left, who kicked to the air. The real Naruto caught the ball and landed behind Ichinose, the two clones merging to him.
Naruto started running towards the goal before Matsuno and Shourinji blocked his path. He stopped before he smirked and kicked the ball to the side. The two were shocked when Sakuma caught the ball and dribbled it towards Raimon's goal.
"No way," Matsuno said as he looked at Sakuma.
"He passed that ball without even looking!" Shourinji exclaimed.
"They need complete trust to pull that off," Gouenji thought as he chased after Sakuma. As Sakuma was near the goal, Domon ran towards him.
"Killer Slide!" he shouted as he slid down and started kicking a lot. Sakuma just smirk before he jumped up and kicked the ball towards Naruto.
"Kage Bunshin(Shadow Clone)-," Naruto exclaimed as he kicked the ball up in the sky. He did a cross hand sign and two more Narutos appear beside him in a puff of smoke. He jumped towards the ball and kicked it with his heel, sending it towards the two clones below.
"Storm!" the two clones shouted as they both did a roundhouse kick to the ball, sending it towards Endou. Endou watched as the shot was going towards him, raising his right hand.
"God…" he started but then realized that the shot was too strong. He quickly changed his stance, hoping this would work. "Majin the Hand!"
His body was covered in a golden glow before he used his hand to block the shot. He gritted his teeth as he felt the shot on the palm of his hand, spinning wildly. He managed to stop the ball from entering the goal, but he got push down on his butt, the ball flying back to Naruto.
Naruto caught the ball with his chest, staring at Endou with wide eyes. He could feel the power of that technique. It felt incomplete, but it was strong. The Goalkeeper inside him wanted to see that technique.
He grinned as Endou stood up, looking more determined than before.
"I'll stop you no matter what, Naruto," Endou declared as he tightened his gloves.
"And I'll answer your challenge with my strongest techniques," Naruto said with a smirk.
Endou felt a cold chill from his spine as a red aura surrounded Naruto. Everyone from Raimon watched as a giant, monstrous figure appeared behind Naruto, feeling afraid.
"Are you ready, Mamoru?" Naruto said as his grin widened. "Because this is my strongest technique!"
The monstrous figure changed its shape, looking like a giant fox with nine tails, its slitted eyes staring at Endou.
"Kyuubi(Nine Tailed Fox) Strike!"
And that's it! The finals have started and already it's an intense match. Two friends now as rivals facing each other in the finals. Hope you like the moves and the comedy in it. That girlfriend thing was something I saw in Eyeshield 21. That was a good manga, not so much for the anime, though. Also, Gouenji's orange socks, that's something Naruto might like to have.
