You know, I have to be honest, I was planning on putting this story up for adoption. I mean, look at it, seven chapters and I barely get a review in one of them. And before I realized it, I was rereading the story and saw that I can't just let it leave like this. I mean, no offense, but I just can't trust anyone to follow it like I want it. So, I won't stop, unless I really get a headache from it.
So, here goes, another chapter.
Chapter 7: Second Half! Kyuubi vs Majin!
Endou was never someone who would be afraid in the soccer field. Why should he be? Soccer was the game that he loves with all his heart, with his friends fighting alongside him, he shouldn't be afraid here. But now, he was feeling fear.
Right in front of him was such a terrifying monster that was staring at him like he was prey. The fact that it was coming from his friend wasn't helping a bit.
"Kyuubi(Nine Tailed Fox) Strike!" Naruto shouted as he kicked the ball. The Kyuubi roared and released a strong ray, shooting towards the net.
"God Hand isn't strong enough for this!" Endou thought as the shot was flying towards him. "I have to use it!"
"Majin the Hand!" Endou shouted as he raised his right arm. A golden glow covered his body. He then tried to block the shot. He dug his feet on the ground, feeling himself getting pushed towards the goal.
The glow then disappeared and the shot flew in the net, destroying Endou's glove.
"GOOOOAAAAL!" Oushou shouted as the audience cheered. "Teikoku's captain has scored again! The score is now 2-0!"
The whistle then sounded, signaling the end of the first half of the game. "And there goes the first half! Teikoku is on the lead! Will they keep this up, or will Raimon somehow turn the tables?"
"Captain!" Kabeyama and Kurimatsu shouted as they rushed to Endou, who was slowly standing up. He looked at the ball with wide eyes, never experiencing such a powerful shot before.
"I'm alright," he said as he looked at his hand. "Man…that was some shot."
He looked at Naruto and saw that he was kneeling, taking deep breathes. He was also sweating a bit. Sakuma and Kidou, noticing this, quickly rushed to his side.
"Captain, what's wrong?" Kidou asked, never seeing their captain like this before. Fudou walked towards them with a frown on his face.
"You…why did you used that move?" Fudou asked as they helped Naruto up. "You said that technique isn't complete yet."
Naruto took some deep breathes before he looked at Fudou and grinned. "Remember, play without regrets. I want to see this move Mamoru has."
Fudou looked at Naruto before he snorted. Only Naruto would exert himself to help someone, even if that someone is their opponent.
The players all walked back to their respective benches to recover from the first half. Everyone was tired, hydrating themselves and relaxing their muscles. Endou was having his left hand iced by Natsumi, who had a worried look on her face.
"Are you alright, Endou-san?" she asked as Endou just grinned at her.
"I've never been better," he said honestly. Once the feeling fear was gone, he started to become excited on trying to block that move. He looked at the other side of the field and saw Naruto being tended by Hinata, who placed an ice pack on his knees. He was squirting water into his mouth to quench his thirst.
"You sure you're alright, Captain?" Kidou asked as Naruto wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"Don't worry Kidou," Naruto said as he stood up and stretched. "I'm alright. That technique wasn't complete yet. I'll figure it out later."
"…If you're sure," Kidou said. He trusts his captain and he hadn't let them down. "What's the plan for the second half?"
"We do our usual thing and play with all we got," Naruto said with a grin. "Don't hold anything back!"
"Hai!"
"So, how are we going to score?" Someoka said with a deep frown. He thought they could beat Teikoku, but they became stronger the last time they fought.
"We need to increase our attacking power," Coach Hibki said as he looked at his players. "Someoka, I'm substituting you with Shadow."
"Hai," Someoka said before he nodded to Shadow, who nodded back.
"Jimon, You'll be substituted with Fudou," Kakashi said to his team.
"Hai, coach," Jimon said before looking at Fudou. "You better score, Fudou."
Fudou just smirked before he started warming up. He's been busy studying Raimon's formation and saw a few weak points in their defense.
Naruto tested his legs and saw that he can still play. He looked at the other side of the field and saw Endou put on some worn out, maroon goalkeeper gloves that seemed a bit big for him. He didn't mean to destroy Endou's gloves. He was just glad that he had a backup.
Endou looked at the gloves, clenching his fists. He brought his grandfather's gloves for good luck, but he never thought he'd used them.
"Grandpa, give me strength," he thought as the referee blew his whistle, signaling the end of the break. All the players ran on the field, this time they switched fields.
"It's time for the second half of the Football Frontier finals!" Oushou exclaimed as the audience cheered. "It seems that both teams exchanged some players. Teikoku has substituted Fudou Akio for Jimon Daiki and Raimon has substituted Yamino Kageto for Someoka Ryuugo!"
It was Raimon's kickoff, and the two players on the center were Gouenji and Shadow. The whistle was blown and Raimon started the kickoff. Shadow kicked the ball to Gouenji, who kicked it towards Ichinose before they ran towards Teikoku's goal.
Ichinose ran up before Narukami and Wataru ran towards him. The two blocked his path and tried to steal the ball, but Ichinose expertly dribbled passed them.
"Shadow!" he shouted as he kicked the ball towards Shadow, who jumped up. He started spinning in the air, covered by dark fire.
"Dark Tornado!" he shouted as he kicked his shot towards the goal, towards Genda.
"Spiraling Claw!" he shouted as he blocked the shot, the claw-like hand meeting Dark Tornado head on. The ball was bounced away, right towards where Ichinose was running. He jumped and landed on his hands before he started spinning, creating a small tornado.
"Spinning Shot!" he shouted as he kicked the ball back towards the goal.
"Spiraling Claw!" Genda shouted as he quickly blocked the shot. The ball was deflected back into the air, but he didn't see Gouenji preparing for a shot.
"Fire Tornado!" he said as he kicked the ball. Genda couldn't move fast enough for a hissatsu, so he dived towards the side. His fingers grazed the ball as it went in.
"Goal!" Oushou shouted as Genda fell. "Raimon has tied the score thanks to their relentless efforts! The score is now 2-1!"
Gouenji smirked as he walked towards Shadow and Ichinose, his hands raised. The two smirked and grinned as they slapped his hands as the audience cheered. Genda looked at the ball before at the three Raimon players before he grinned.
"It's Teikoku's turn," Oushou said as Naruto and Fudou stood at the center with the ball between them. "Will they be able to get a score?"
Fudou kicked to Naruto, who kicked it to Kidou. Just like the first half, Naruto led forwards while the midfielders were on the sides.
"Hissatsu Tactics: Cross Paths!" Naruto shouted as they all ran in cross patterns, passing the ball to each other as they passed Raimon.
"Fudou!" Narukami shouted as he kicked the ball towards Fudou, who jumped up and started using the move Lions' Barrage.
"Lions' Barrage!" Fudou shouted as he heel kicked the ball towards the goal with the lion's head roared.
Endou prepared to block it, before Shourinji and Kabeyama got in front of him. The small Raimon player did a few karate stomps before he jumped towards the shot.
"Kung Fu Head!" he shouted as he head butted the shot, he tried to send it back, but he got blown away.
"The Wall!" Kabeyama shouted as he made a wall appear behind him, blocking the shot. The ball bounced towards Kazemaru, who dribbled it towards Teikoku's goal, only for the ball to be taken by Kidou.
"Captain!" he shouted as he passed the ball towards Naruto. The blond grinned as fire erupted from his body.
"Fire Fox!" he shouted as he kicked the ball. Endou prepared himself, only for the fox-shaped fireball to fly up, right towards a jumping Kidou and Fudou.
"Air Strike!" they shouted as they kicked the ball towards the goal, creating a tornado that powered the Fire Fox. Endou watched the two Hissatsu technique flew towards him.
"Majin the Hand!" he shouted as he raised his left hand, causing a golden glow to appear around him. He then tries to stop the shot, and he struggled for a few moments, before he was thrown off his feet, and the shot entered the net.
"Goal! Teikoku has taken the lead again!" Oushou shouted as Naruto high-fived Kidou and Fudou. "3-1, with Teioku on the lead!"
Endou looked at the ball before at his glove before clenching it. What was the secret of Majin the Hand?
"Don't worry, Captain!" Kurimatsu shouted, causing him to look up, seeing his team and smiling supportively towards him. "You can master Majin the Hand!"
"And until then, we'll help you protect the goal," Kazemaru said.
"Everyone…" Endou said before he grinned. "You're right! Don't worry, I'll master Majin the Hand!"
"This is getting intense ladies and gentlemen!" Oushou shouted as the fierce battle between the two schools continued. The ball kept changing and Hisatssu techniques kept appearing.
"Quick Draw!"
Wataru dribbled to ball, only for Max to steal the ball from him.
"Cross Drive!"
He made a cross-shaped shot, and it sailed towards the goal, only for Oono to appear in front of the shot. He jumped to the air and went falling with full force.
"Earthquake!" he shouted as he created a strong shockwave that stopped the shot.
He then kicked the ball to Narukami, who started dribbling it towards Raimon, only for Shadow to appear in front of him, his right leg glowing with purple energy. He swung his leg, cutting the ground with purple energy.
"Diabolical Cut!" he shouted as a purple wall appeared with an evil face, knocking Narukami off his feet. He got the ball and dribbled it back towards Teikoku before Gojou ran towards him, kicking his leg towards him.
"Cyclone!" he shouted as the cyclone surrounded Shadow. He looked for a way out, but there was none.
"Shadow!" he looked and saw Gouenji running towards him before jumping. Shadow's eyes widened before he looked up, seeing that there was an opening.
He kicked the ball to the air before jumping. Gouenji and Shadow then spun in unison, there feet about kick the ball the same time. "Double Tornado!"
The glowing ball flew towards as he pulled his arm back. "Spiraling Claw!"
The tornado claw met the two tornado powered ball, and the two techniques clashed until Genda was pushed back, letting the ball went in the goal.
"Goal!" Oushou shouted as the audience cheered loudly. "Raimon has scored again! 3-2!"
"It's not over yet!" Genda shouted as he kicked the ball towards Naruto, who caught it with his chest.
"Sakuma! Fudou! Kidou!" he shouted as he dribbles towards Raimon's goal.
"It looks like Teikoku's preparing for their four-man Hisatssu, Naruto Rendan!" Oushou shouted as they got in position.
Endou raised his hands, preparing to stop the shot, when he noticed something. The left glove was more beaten up then the right glove, with a scorch mark on the center. His eyes widened with realization as he grinned.
Meanwhile, Naruto kicked the ball to Sakuma, who kicked it to Kidou and Fudou before he catapulted Naruto into the air.
"Naruto(Maelstrom)!" Kidou and Fudou shouted as they kicked the ball towards Naruto.
"Rendan(Barrage)!" Naruto shouted as he heel kicked the ball towards Endou.
Endou suddenly twisted his body to the right, confusing everyone. That confusion turned into surprise when the golden glow appeared, this time more stable than before.
"Majin the Hand uses energy from the heart," Endou though as he focused his right hand on his chest, gathering as much energy as he can. "That's why Grandpa uses his left hand. So if I do it like this, I can use 100% of its power with my right hand!"
He opened his eyes and lifted his right hand. Above him appeared a giant, golden Majin, which roared loudly.
"This is my Majin(Devil) the Hand!" Endou shouted as he threw his right arm towards the ball, the Majin following his move. The Majin's palm met Naruto Rendan, and stopped it with authority.
"He did it…he did it!" his teammates shouted with big grins.
"He mastered a move that only Endou Daisuke can do," Hibiki said in an impressive tone. "No, he made it his own."
"So that's Majin the Hand," Naruto said with a grin. "Impressive."
"I don't think we can break it so easily," Kidou said as he crossed his arms.
"When did that stop us," Fudou said with a smirk.
Endou kicked the ball towards Kazemaru as Wataru and Sakiyama ran towards him.
"Shippu(Hurricane) Dash!" he shouted as he dashed through them, disappearing right in front of their eyes before appearing behind them. He kicked the ball towards Ichinose, before he was intercepted by Kidou and Fudou.
"Ichinose!" a voice shouted behind him. Without looking, he kicked the ball back, passing it to Endou, surprising the two.
Endou ran passed them, before he was intercepted by Naruto. The two grinned at each other as Endou tries to get pass him while Naruto tries to take the ball.
"You're pretty good, Endou," Naruto said as his friend kept moving the ball away from him. "But you can't keep this up forever!"
"I don't have to," Endou said before he kicked the ball to the side, passing it to Domon. "I have my friends to help me get through you!"
Domon kicked it to Ichinose and he dribbled it towards Teikoku's goal, with Domon and Endou beside him. The three intersected through the ball, creating a column of fire that transformed into a phoenix. Suddenly, Gouenji was spinning towards the ball.
He kicked the ball with his flaming foot, causing it to go towards Genda, the phoenix screeching. He grabbed his right wrist and raised it up, causing the panther's head to appear.
"Beast Fang Number 2!" he shouted as he slammed the glowing ball to the ground, the panther head biting on it. His hand shook before he was blown off his feet, the ball going in the net.
"Goal!" Oushou shouted as the audience cheered. "Raimon has tied the score! Which team is going to win!?"
"It's not over yet!" Naruto shouted as Genda grabbed the ball and kicked towards his teammates. Endou quickly rushed back to the goal as Teikoku made their counter attack.
Raimon tried to stop the rushing players, but thanks to Fudou, they didn't get the ball. Fudou passed to Kidou, who was blocked by Domon and Kurimatsu. He smirked as he grabbed the ball between his ankles and somersaulted. When he hit the ground, the ball split into three, floating around them.
"Illusion Ball!" he shouted as the ball floated pass the two, letting Kidou ran pass them and grabbing the real ball. "Captain!"
Naruto got the ball using his chest before looking at Endou. He grinned, feeling excited for a while now. A red aura appeared all over Naruto before it turned into a giant nine tailed fox. The fox looked ready to roar as Naruto prepared the kick.
"Kyuubi(Nine Tailed Fox) Strike!" Naruto shouted as he kicked the ball and the fox roared a giant ray out of its mouth.
Endou watched the shoot going towards him, but unlike the fear from before, he was feeling excited, just like Naruto. He twisted his body, gathering all the energy he could handle before he unleashed his Majin.
"Majin(Devil) the Hand!" he shouted as he and the Majin pushed their hands towards the red shot. The palm met the roar and the two Hisatssu techniques struggled against each other.
The Kyuubi and the Majin seemed to be glaring each other, trying to gain superiority over the other. Both of these great beings roared as they try to gain the upper hand. Naruto and Endou refused to give up as they both shouted.
"Go Captain!" both teams shouted, cheering for their respective captain.
"Go, Mamoru!" Endou's mom shouted, holding a picture of her deceased father.
"Go, Sochi/Nichan!" Kushina and Mito shouted as Tomo yipped, wagging his furry tail.
After what seemed like forever, the clash of the two beings ended when the ball suddenly exploded, making a small explosion that sent everyone nearby off their feet. Only Naruto and Endou remain standing, though they were barely able to stand.
The two of them stared at the ball in surprise just as the referee blew his whistle, ending the game. The two friends looked at each other before Naruto laughed a little. Endou started laughing as well. Soon, the two friends were laughing until they fell to the ground.
"The game is over with a score of 3-3!" Oushou shouted as all the audience cheered. "For the first time in history, two teams had tied in the finals of the Football Frontier! What an amazing moment in soccer history! These two teams gave it their all in this match, and it was a match that will be remembered by coming generations. These two teams truly are Japan's best!"
As like they were one, all the players fell to their knees or bottoms, panting for air. The ones sitting on the benches rushed over to help their tired teammates up their feet, congratulating them on a game well played.
Naruto winced as pain flooded through his body. Kyuubi Strike was his strongest move, but it gave the user's body a heavy toll. If another player uses it, then they could never play again. It was only thanks to his Uzumaki genes that he could recover from such a toll.
"How ya feeling, Mamoru?" Naruto said, still looking at the sky.
"I'm good," Endou replied, lifting his head to look at his friend. "How about you?"
"I'm fine, just a few painful cramps here and there," Naruto said with a slight chuckle. "Nothing some sleep and ramen can't fix, 'ttebayo."
A hand suddenly entered his vision. He looked and saw his team all smiling and grinning at him. The hand belonged to Kidou. With a grin, he took the hand and he was helped up his feet. He winced a little from his complaining muscles, but didn't pay heed to it. He looked at all his teammates and grinned.
"We didn't win, and we didn't lose either," he said with a pained grin. "But we gave it everything we had and didn't leave any regrets. That, and we had the best game this team ever played."
"Hai!" some of them shouted with grin. Despite not winning, they really did have fun, something Kageyaman never let them have.
They then turned to Raimon, who also have the same expression in their faces. Naruto and Endou looked at each other before grasping each other's hands.
"What an amazing conclusion to the Football Frontier!" Oushou shouted, shedding manly tears. "After such a fierce match, the players are showing such sportsmanship! I can't think of a better end for such an amazing match, ladies and gentlemen!"
The audience agreed as they applauded, chanting the names of both teams. All the players looked at the cheering crowd before they smiled at each other before looking at the crowd, waving a hand or two as thanks for their cheers.
Even though no one won, it felt like they did. Naruto and Endou held the Football Frontier flag together and raised it the air as their team gather behind them, letting the photographer immortalize this moment forever.
Unknown to them, something big was happening all over Japan.
And there it is! Surprise by the conclusion? Good. I couldn't decide which team to win, so I decided to do this, making them both win. I know, in real soccer, there's supposed to be a tie breaker game, but let's face it, there's been a lot of ties in the game, but they never did overtime.
Well, hope you like the conclusion of the finals. Like I said, I was almost close into letting this story get adopted, but after rewatching Inazuma Eleven, I got my funk back. Despite not having so many reviews, I won't stop updating. Though the updates won't be frequent.
