Chapter 21: Journey to the Falls I

"How long are we gonna continue on this endless journey." Itsuki whined as the horse continued to trot deeper into the jungle. "Where are we going anyway?" He yelled out to make sure everyone could hear him.

"We'll probably reach soon." Toya replied from the front of the line in contemplation after a short pause.

"Ugh! How long is soon?!" Itsuki exclaimed at his words, letting out a pent up frustration. "I didn't sign up for this you know."

"I don't think anyone would willingly signed up for this anyway." Fujisawa growled in contempt in response. "Not just you."

"I bet it was all randomly selected. Else why would you, of all the people, a prison guard be chosen as one of the fifty to come on this expedition?" Itsuki refuted, his brows twitching at the younger male for his "insolent" reply. He simply felt insulted for brushing his grumbles aside.

"It just didn't make sense alright?" He stated, looking around at the people surrounding him for confirmation, to receive a whack in the head from a spiky haired Hashiyama.

"Ouch! What's your problem! Hashiyama!" Itsuki growled, whacking Hashiyama's hand away from his head.

"Don't bully the kid." Hashiyama chided with a smile.

"You talk too much." Fujisawa frowned, glaring at the the older male two horses away, not bothering to speak in honorifics. Before Itsuki could add in another line to counter Fujisawa's remark, another voice sounded which took his attention.

"We're probably gonna reach the falls by nightfall." Toya added right from the front, cutting into their conversation to answer Itsuki's question.

At his answer, Fujisawa raised his brows in astonishment, unable to hide his surprise. "How did you know where we're going? Mizuro-sama didn't specifically tell us where we'll be going did he?"

Falls? At those words, Kurogane could not help but pick up those words. Falls as in waterfall? Could it be..?

"Oh! You mean that waterfall which Kurogane-san and Fai-san were first captured?" Itsuki voiced out the exact thoughts he had been thinking. His voice volume decreased significantly as he mentioned the names, taking a small glance backwards to check if Kurogane had any reaction. "Come to think of it, we're definitely heading in that direction.."

At Itsuki's behaviour, Kurogane pretended he hadn't heard anything. Instead, he sped up his horse slightly in attempt to catch more of the conversation that was taking place in front him.

To be honest, he had not wanted to be anywhere near to Toya or the gang which was found at the treatment tent after all that had happened. But this was the only way he could let Fai come along with him for the expedition. Given the choice between leaving the blonde and joining Toya's group, obviously he'll choose the latter. Hence the groupings was arranged as such.

The fifty people expedition group was divided into 5 groups of 10 with the exception of Kurogane's group which happened to be have 11 due to the addition of Fai.. And of course, Toya was the leader of the group.

The groups were then split in a such way that each group was only a maximum of two hundred feet away from one another with Mizuro's group positioned at the center and the other four distributed at the North, South, East and West wings. This was to prevent any sudden attack from their enemies and to be better informed of the changes to the surrounding as they travel to their destination. For them, they were assigned to be on the East Wing.

The sudden movement of the horse trotting a little faster made Fai's head bounced gently on his chest in front of him. The blonde groaned, frowning slightly before falling back into deep slumber. For some reason, he had stayed asleep for the past two days they were on the road. Kurogane looked down in concern, slightly bothered by the fact the blonde had not awaken after so long.

"When are you gonna wake up?" He muttered gently, pressing his chin against Fai's forehead to check his temperature. His hand reached out to his head, hovering above it before gently running his fingers through the mob of blonde hair. A sense of protectiveness welled within him.

"Wait! Is this the falls which everyone had been talking about?" One of the guys, Sadamori who had been riding somewhere close by suddenly snapped and joined in the conversation from behind. Everyone turned their head over at his remark, including Kurogane.

"Why are you so interested, Sadamori?" Hashiyama smirked, giving Sadamori a hard punch in the shoulder to receive a hearty laugh from Itsuki and a look of disapproval from Fujisawa.

Beside them, Hitsuda chuckled silently, his bow and arrow hilt bounced in sync with his horse footstep. Hashiyama simply leapt from his horse to strangle the male, choking him jokingly. "What do you think you're laughing at?"

Kurogane raised his brows at the interaction between the men, taking his eyes off the blonde for the only had a self introduction session shortly after they split into their groups. During the introduction, it was obvious that they were not close to one another. There were probably a few who already knew each before embarking on this journey but majority seemed to be new to each other. Yet, from they way they talk to one another now, it seemed like they had already known one another for a long time.

So far, Itsuki, Fujiwara, Sadamori, Hashiyama, Toya had taken part in the massive conversation in the middle of the group. Hitsuda and Ogari simply rode nearby and, like Kurogane, listen to their endless babber as they head towards their destination. The other two, Tanaka and Yagane simply remained in their own world, solemn and unwilling to join in the bonding session that was taking place.

"Wait let me see.." Hashiyama grabbed the male by his face and stared intently at his face making Sadamori blush heavily, turning a bright red. After a delayed reaction, Sadamori then forced his face away from him.

"What! Don't stare into my face like that!" He muttered, his face still red from Hashiyama's sudden act.

"Ahh.. Dark brown.. No wonder. You're so interested. You haven done it yet right."

Done it? Kurogane frowned at those words.

Sadamori blushed even harder at those words. "Nobody brought me there before. How would I know?"

"Maybe you're gonna do it today when we reach?" Fujisawa commented in a thoughtful tone. "After all there's also somebody who haven done it yet too."

At Fujisawa's last comment, Sadamori's eyes darted back to meet with Kurogane's, making him raise a brow.

Huh? Did he meant.. Me? But if they're talking about what he's thinking.. Then it couldn't be. He's definitely not a virgin anymore. Did they jump into conclusion that he's still a virgin? Or the it they're referring to is something else?

The boy's sight only loitered on him for an instant before traveling downwards, stealing a glance at Fai who was still asleep in his arms. Then he spotted Kurogane looking and he swiftly looked back to the front.

Wait. Did he meant the blonde? He's the virgin? At the thought, Kurogane could feel a slight blush forming on his face before he quickly brush it away. He had never thought of the blonde that way, neither have the conversation topic swing into that direction in their days of travel. After all you don't really discuss such things in front of kids, do you?

"Anyway if you really wanna know about the falls. Yes. It's the same place. It's our country's sacred ground. Especially for our camp. The area had been heavily guarded for the longest time. Only authorized people are able to enter and leave the place as they want.." Itsuki continued dismissing the awkward silence in the air.

"Well.. Except for a certain pair.. Nobody knew how they ended up within the circle of protection.." His voice dropped down to a low hush, obviously trying his best to lower his voice but still letting Kurogane hear intentionally.

"If you really want to know how.. you're have to ask.." He then threw a look backwards at Kurogane.

Everyone turned to look at him expectedly.

Kurogane twitched his brows a little, slightly taken aback at how the conversation was suddenly thrown in his direction. For a moment he contemplate whether to answer the question or to simply ignore it.

"We just happened to land inside. It's nothing to marvel about." After a short pause, Kurogane grunted answering the question. After all, they'll be traveling together for the next three weeks. It's better to get acquainted for better teamwork later on.

His body then tensed at a soft rustling from above. Gripping Souhi, his eyes shot upwards into the tree branches all ready for any sudden attack. His red eyes squinted into the tall trees, darting around to catch signs of anyone.

"Someone's up there." He grunted, and everyone's attention shot to him for a brief moment before proceeding upwards.

Another rustle from opposite the tree made him snap his head to the other side. Even though he could not spot the guy lurking in the shadows, he was sure of his presence.

The group came to a halt, keeping silence as they waited for any signs of human presence. But the forest just remained as silent as it was except for the occasional rustling of the leaves and the _ of the crickets.

"Relax.. It's just the security." Itsuki laughed after a minute of quietness. "Told ya this place was strict!"

"No. Shh." Toya hushed the group as he raised an arm to signal for the group to get off their horses. Any possible threat is not to be taken lightly. He had felt something too. If it was their people, he would have received a signal from Mizuro.

While everyone was debating if there were any possibilities of intruders or was it simply just the right security near the falls, Kurogane's senses were high on alert. This was no security. He was sure of it. The aura that the man in the tree gave out was menacing. It was their enemy.

That was when the first arrow came down.

"Look out!" Kurogane yelled at the same time he flung himself in the direction of Hitsuda, just in time to deflect the arrow away from the boy.

But no. He was a bit too late. His sword had not reached in time to clear the arrow's projectile from Hitsuda.

"Ugh!" A sharp groan of pain sounded as Hitsuda collapsed onto one knee, clutching his right arm which was bleeding profusely. The arrow had brushed across his arm briefly, creating a thin laceration.

While the attention was focused on Hitsuda, another arrow was fired and this time, it hit its mark and the target, Tanaka collapsed with an arrow straight through the heart. His bow and arrow tumbling onto the snow with a small thud.

"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" Toya yelled, blowing the horn hung across his chest, giving a kick to his horse's chest. The leaders were each given an alarm horn which was to be sounded in times of danger.

As the words filled the air, a similar loud horn sounded from the south-west direction. The group could hear screams of pain as well as clashing of swords in the far distance.

That was when arrows begun to rain down upon them. The men which had scattered briefly conjugated once again taking shelter behind their combined shields. Very quickly, Kurogane carried the blonde down from the horse and secured him on to his back with bundles of cloth. The mob of blonde rolled from side to side with every jerk Kurogane _ due to his movement.

Once in a while Yagane would stick out to fire some arrows into the trees. But it took too long for him to aim. He knew the chances of him reaching his target was small. By exposing himself to shoot, he already making himself an easy target for their enemies.

No. He must land one on the ground. He had to. From the rate of the arrows, it seemed like there were at least three archers up in the trees shooting down at a time. He stuck a head out briefly, his eyes caught sight of a flash up on the tree.

There! He shouted to himself as he pulled an arrow aiming in the direction. The moment it left his bow, he knew it was going to hit his mark. He could almost watch in satisfaction as a dark figure fell from the trees landing on the ground dead as a rock.

But that was also the moment he let his glory take hold of him. And a sharp pain shot through his shoulders. In the lag time when he was still exposed to their enemies, an arrow hit him straight in his shoulder causing him to retreat back into the makeshift cover.

"We need to assist them." Toya yelled as he quickly hopped on his horse steered it towards the direction where everyone lies.

"We need to find cover." Kurogane yelled waving his sword around meaningfully as he block each arrow with intent, hurrying on his way to stop Toya.

"There's no way we can win against them. They're up in the trees with arrows while we're down on the ground with swords. They had purposely targeted our archers first to prevent us from attacking back. Tanaka's down and the two that's left are both injured."

Damn. If Fai was awake now, he'll be really useful in this situation. But he wasn't. So the best thing to do now is..

"We should take cover first and treat our casualties, gather our remaining forces before launching an attack."

That was when a second horn sounded, this time it sounded twice, each only lasting in a few second each, signalling to seek cover. Toya nodded in agreement, raising his arm to signal for their retreat.

By now, everyone was more or less high on their alert as they quickly hopped back onto their horses.

"Here. Ride with me." Hashiyama said as he offered his hand to a flustered looking Sadamori who seemed relatively new to these attack. His horse had taken a few arrows and was whimpering in agony, breathing its dying breath upon the snowy ground. At Hashiyama's offer, he seemed to regain his composure and swiftly hopped on to his horse, sitting in front of him.

"We need to go now!" Itsuki urged in an urgent voice, suddenly appearing beside Hashiyama. Slumped on his lap was a pale-looking Hitsuda, still clutching his bleeding arm. Kurogane tightened his grip on the blonde and swiftly hopped on to his horse, swinging the male from his back to his front. The mob of blonde now rested gently upon his shoulders, leaning on his left ear as Fai's arms and legs dangle uselessly behind his back.

"Come on! Let's hurry on. There's a cave right in front in another five yards. We'll take cover there for the time being and assemble back with the rest later." Toya called out, directing his team to safety.

It was as though the enemies had achieved what they wanted.. or they simply did not bother to give chase. The rain of arrows slowly decreased with each step they gain and then there were none left. The ambush that they had walked right into suddenly ceased as it started.

Soon they reached the cave which Toya mentioned earlier.

If he had not told them to stop, Kurogane wouldn't even have known that they had reached. The area had slowly turned mountainy during the time they galloped towards their destination, going through paths that was bumpy but still sheltered by trees. Then they stopped in front of what seemed like a huge rock all covered in twines and leafy crawlers.

Toya hopped off his horse and lifted the curtain of plants to reveal a 8 foot tall hole leading into the darkness.

"Wow.. I totally didn't expect the cave to be hidden in such a place." Itsuki muttered softly, giving a jab in Toya's ribs. "How did you find out about this place."

Toya simply rolled his eyes at his friend. "Did you forget I was here longer than you were?"

That was when a blue light shot into the sky and exploded in all direction, making a loud crackling sound. At the sound, Toya looked up and squinted at the light. A look of understanding flashed upon the face.

"Come on. Go in and rest." He added, pulling the twines further to widen the entrance hole. "We'll join the rest at the falls at sundown."

xXx

"That brat. Fancy spoiling my plan." Shozu growled.

"Maybe Mizuro won't let him bring Fai along?" The man who had been carrying Fai spoke.

"No. He will let him bring Fai along."

"What do you plan to do now, Shozu-sama?" Rikkudo asked watching Kurogane's horse galloped towards the edge of the forest.

"I wonder.." A smirk crawled up his face as a new idea flashed into his mind.

"RIKKUDO-SAMA!"

"Had everyone left? I had a terrible stomachache and I thought you guys were gonna leave without me!" He panted, stopping in the middle of his sentence here and there to catch his breath.

"Kakaname, I need a favor from you." Shozu said.

"Can you pass this to Kurogane?"

"Mizuro told to me prepare this for Kurogane but I had forgotten to give it to him."

"Oh! Sure! What is it?" Kakaname said with a tinge of enthusiasm, receiving the brown package from Shozu.

"It's a special charm made for him. After all he's new here. Help me tell him it's from Mizuro. Tell him Mizuro said it would be useful in the future and that he should wear it."

"Make sure he puts it on alright?" Shozu added, putting on a sincere yet nonchalant face.

"I will!" Kakaname nodded, his head bobbing rather rapidly from his enthusiasm.

"Come on Rikkudo-sama! Let's go." But before Rikkudo could reply, the male already kicked start his horse and was on his way. "I'll go pass Kurogane-sama the package first alright!" He yelled as he left.

Rikkudo eyed the male as he rode away, his brows furrowed just so slightly.

"Why didn't you just let me pass to him?"

"It'll be too suspicious. I got a more important job for you to do." Shozu replied as he too watched Kakaname leave. A smirk spread across his face. The expression on his face.. It was pretty obvious he was conspiring an evil plan.

"Remember what I told you to do?"

"Yes." Rikkudo nodded slightly. He had not forgotten what his master asked him to do in the underground cell.

"I have one more thing for you to do." He said gently, his smirk widened into a smile.

xXx

"Hitsuda doesn't look too good." Ogari remarked as he put the boy down against the wall of the cave. The boy was turning paler by the minute and his breathing was jagged and uneven.

"Are you alright.. Yagane?" Sadamori asked as the injured archer entered the cave half supported by Kurogane. The stub of arrow which had landed on his shoulders was still stuck in his shoulders even though the bleeding had more or less been slowed down by the compression Kurogane applied on the wound.

Fai lied in a corner, slumped against the cave wall. Beads of perspiration now hung on his face as his brow furrowed seemingly still stuck in his nightmare.

"I'm fine.. Just need to get rid of this." Yagane smiled weakly, pointing to the remaining arrow which was still embedded in his body. But he, too, was looking really pale and weak, just not as bad as Hitsuda.

"Pass me that bottle." He grunted, pointing to bottle hung upon saddle of his horse as he bent down to look at Yagane's wound.

"Hold on. This's gonna hurt like a bitch." He warned, putting a piece of cloth into Yagane's mouth. Using his mouth, he bit open the cap and poured abit of the liquid on his hands.

In one swift motion, he yanked out the rest of the arrow. But before blood could spurt out, he pressed his sterilized hand onto the wound and poured a generous portion of the sake in the bottle down into the wound. Yagane jerked violently the moment the sake hit his wound and he left out a loud scream which got muffled by the cloth he was biting on.

"Go wrap him up." Kurogane grunted as Fujisawa bent down with bandages. Beads of sweat and an evident sign of relief that the treatment was over as Yagane leaned back onto the cool cave wall.

"That's not good enough. I think the arrow's been poisoned." Fujisawa commented, the moment he caught sight of Yagane's wound and he promptly picked up the broken arrow head Kurogane had threw aside. "Sadamori. Hold this bandage in place."

He then went over to examine Hitsuda's wound. Like Yagane, his laceration had begun to puss and a skin around it had begun to turn a dangerous dark purple. But the situation for Hitsuda was abit more serious than Yagane's seeing that the affected area was bigger.

"Yagane-san, Hitsuda, try moving your arms."

Yagane attempted to lift his arm but it only hovered a few inches off the ground. At Fujisawa's words, Hitsuda's eyes slowly fluttered open. He looked as though he was trying his best to lift his arm but it just remained slumped on the floor.

"There's no doubt. It's Jakori poison. It attacks the nerves around the muscle tissues making them numb. We can't leave them as they are. I'll find the herbs required to make the antidote."

"We need to reach the falls by night fall. By horse we'll probably need another few hours. Can we do it when we reach there?" Ogari questioned.

"Well, if we leave them be, they'll lose the ability to use their arms. But judging by Hitsuda's condition, he might not survive until night fall." Fujisawa said in a thoughtful but matter-of fact tone. "Guess it's really up to you which is more important."

Everyone turned expectedly to Toya. He was the leader of the group and if there's a need for decision making. He'll be the one to have the final say.

"Get the antidote." Toya instructed after a short pause. "This cave will lead to another exit nearer to the falls. It'll be an hour lesser compared to taking the outside route. That means you only have an hour to do so."

"That's more than enough." Fujisawa nodded in acknowledgement.

"Alright then. Go ahead. Make sure you're back in an hour's time. And it'll be good to make more of it." Toya added giving Fujisawa the green light to proceed. "Don't be late."

It took longer than what Fujisawa had thought to gather the herbs for the antidote. To complete the recipe for the poison, Makori roots was required. But no matter where he looked, he could not find the one last ingredient for the antidote.

Time is running short. It'll take some time to make and apply the medicine. He needed to go back now. Left with no choice, Fujisawa bent down to pluck the alternate roots in replacement of the Makori roots he was looking for.

"I'll have to make do with this then." With that, he turned to hurried back to cave to treat his fellow comrades.

"Where are the rest?" A rough voice grunted making Fujisawa jump up in shock as he turned around to see who had called him.

A tall man of seven foot met his eyes and his black iris widen in surprise.

"Rikkudo.. What are you doing here?"

xXx

"Such a burden." A whining voice reached his ears as he slowly gain conscious. "What are we supposed to do with an unconscious person?"

His blue eyes flickered open as he groaned slightly, registering a dark figure hovering above him.

"I think he's awake." The dark figure commented as he placed a cool wet piece of cloth on the blonde's forehead. Instinctively, Fai slapped the cloth together with the unknown hand away from him and he cowered backwards into a hard surface. His head shot backwards to meet with a hard layer of rocks.

The male seemed taken aback by his reaction but nevertheless an understanding look soon replaced his surprised one.

"Just leave him be." A deep voice grunted to his left and Fai's eyes shot to the source. A unknown man sat with his legs bent in front of him met his eyes. "He just woke up."

Where am I? A gush of panic flooded through his mind as his eyes darted around to register the surrounding.

"Let me take a look at him." A concern but familiar voice reached him just as a dark shadow cast upon him, making him unable to see clearly for a while. The face behind the voice remained too dark for him to recognize properly.

"Kinomoto-kun?" His blue eyes widened in surprise the moment he recognized the face before a series of indescribable feelings and emotion crashed upon him.

Most people would forget about the dreams they had after awhile no matter how vivid they were when they were having it. But that did not apply to Fai. Every single nightmare he had until now remained vividly in his mind and once in a while would flash back at him when he's awake and conscious. He had not forgotten the one concerning Toya. It was so vivid yet surreal that he had no idea if it was real or just a fabrication of his imagination.

"He knows you, Toya?" Another male of barely sixteen commented in awed from the other corner as the male stood up and walk toward him.

"You have no idea what kind of relationship they two had." The third male laughed slightly to receive a whack in the head by another male with spiky hair who had not spoken before. "It's not the time for jokes." The spiky male chided.

Wait.

Something is wrong.

That was when he suddenly realized how he could understand everyone. A certain conversation during his attempt to escape flashed into his mind.

Calm down. Calm down. Don't freak out.

He took a deep breath, forcing his heart to slow down its pace as he forced his brain to reason logic.

Wait.. If he could understand everyone.. That would mean.. Mokona's nearby. That's good news! It probably means that they're going to gather again and continue on their journey! Before that, he needed to find out..

"Where am I?" He took a deep breath and asked everyone in general, cocking his head slightly as he smiled his usual smile. "Where's Kuro-tan?"

His eyes darted around, registering the environment. It seemed like they were inside a cave of some sort. There were eight people in the cave. Two of them were lain on on some rocks which were elevated from the ground seemingly sleeping. He could see a gaping hole in the distance with sunlight streaming through the vines which was acting like a curtain blocking the exit to the place.

A long silence that followed after his question. He watched as everyone suddenly became alert and begun giving eyes signals to one another.

As the time ticked by, the uneasiness within him grew. Why aren't they answering him?

"What is he saying?" Sadamori breathed as though marvelled at the sudden knowledge, breaking the silence. "He doesn't speak our language?"

His blue eyes widen slightly, his heart beat leapt up a notch.

What did he meant by he didn't speak our language? He could understand him properly. Didn't Mokona translate his words for him?

"I heard Kuro.. I think he's asking for Kurogane. Anyone knew where he went?" Fujisawa said picking up the only word he could understand.

No wait. Unless.. Mokona's not here.. It couldn't be.. He had experienced this before..

"He just left." Ogari growled in response in the corner he was sitting.

"How are you gonna tell him that?"

Left? Kuro-chan left?

"He's leaving you here.. for good.. He doesn't want you anymore." Shozu's words echoed in his mind making his head spin.

No.. That couldn't be true. Pure panic flood through his insides. No. Don't leave me here alone! He screamed internally as he dashed out towards the exit.

He couldn't have left too long ago. I can still catch him.

Just at the moment he was about to dash out through the cave's opening, a dark figure came back in and he bumped right into it. The force from his dash did nothing to move the body. Instead, Fai flew backwards at the collision, landing on his butt.

"Ugh." He groaned. His bottom still hurt from the days in the cell.

He could vaguely feel a hand reaching out to him to help him up. Who is it? Instinctively, he slapped the hand away as he tried to stand up. In the midst of things, his legs wobbled and he tripped over his own legs, falling backwards...

Just as he thought he was going to crash into the ground, a huge hand came out of nowhere and supported his back. He felt his body crashed into another who was bigger and larger than he was.

"Kuro?" His first thought went to him before he opened his eyes and looked up to check.

But the face that met his eyes wasn't the familiar face of his traveling partner.

HIM?!

He could almost feel his heart leapt out of his mouth. That face.. He could never forget that face. It belonged to the man he who forced himself on him the first time he woke up in the cell.

What happened next happened so fast that almost nobody caught it.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" He screamed as panic and anxiety swallowed his vision in one whole. In his shock, he tripped over a protruding rock on the ground and fall backwards.

"Careful." The man growled. The huge hand that supported his back now gripped harder as the other hand now grabbed his wrist, stopping him from moving.

The twist of events led them into a position such that they were almost clinging to each other. Fai could feel the breath of the man on his neck and immediately his body reacted to his touch.

His mind went black from the shock as his hand automatically snapped to the scar on his neck. Even though he could only feel the bandage upon his skin, the pickling sensation and the heat that coursed through his body when his slimy tongue swiped over it was still evident. It felt as though it had happened just moments ago.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" He screamed, shoving the man away and snatching his hands back. He then charged forward blindly, shoving away any obstacles in his path. It's him! He had to get away from here. Fast! He need to run away from here as far as his legs could carry.

"Hey somebody grab him!" Hashiyama yelled, watching the blonde go crazy as Fai ran out of the cave.

"You got to be kidding me." Itsuki rolled his eyes and remained standing where he was.

"Get him back!" Toya ordered, swiftly jumping onto his feet, heading towards the exit. At Toya's order, Rikkudo nodded briefly as he too dashed out of the cave.

"What's going on." Almost immediately after Toya and Rikkudo left, a deep growl came as the vines of an entrance of the cave opened to reveal a tall man with red eyes.

"Fai-san just woke up and he just freaked out and ran out." Sadamori reported, a tinge of panic and nervousness rang out in his voice. "Toya-sama and Rikkudo-san went to chase after him."

At his words, those red eyes widened in alarm.

"That bloody idiot." Kurogane spat turning around immediately to chase after the blonde.

Fujisawa shook his head, closing his eyes as he sighed. "He's hysterical."

"You need to stop being so foul-mouth." Hashiyama strangled the male violently.

"Aren't you guys gonna help chase after him?" Sadamori questioned, almost on the way to follow Kurogane out.

"It's no use. He doesn't know any one of us. Even if we chase after him, he'll only run further away from us." Yagane commented, pushing himself up from the makeshift bed Fujisawa made for him. His face was gaining more color and he looked like he was feeling a lot better than when they reached.

Fujisawa and Ogari nodded in agreement.

"He seemed pretty normal when he just woke up.. Why did he suddenly have such a big reaction when Rikkudo touched him?" Sadamori asked again as though the question was simply directed to him and not other people.

"Maybe he just hates people touching him?" Hashiyama replied, shrugging, landing his arms across Sadamori's shoulders.

"Let's hope they find him." Sadamori replied thoughtfully.

"You know.. It's better if he just doesn't come back. He'll drag us do-wn.. OUCH!" Itsuki remarked but before he could finish his sentence, a karate chop came down on his head making him wince in pain. "HASHIYAMA! STOP WHACKING ME!" He yelled, slapping Hashiyama's hand away before pouncing on the spiky hair guy attempting to get back for the painful hit.

Beside them, Fujisawa listened to their conversation without adding a comment. He casted a concern look at the exit of the cave, briefly worried about the blonde before turning his attention back into the cave.

"Yagane-kun, let me see your wounds."

xXx

Fai simply ran.

He with all his might, he urged his feet to move as fast as he could. The splitting pain on his back and bottom was excruciating but the need to get away from the man and the place was ever more overwhelming. The thought of getting caught flooded his brain, replacing any thoughts and logic that could possibly exist, propelling him through the forest.

In and out through the trees and bushes he weaved. He had no idea where he was going but he knew the right way was only forward.

"Fai!"

He could hear someone calling his name from behind as rustling followed. The thumping of footstep accompanying each rustle grew louder each time it sounded. An indescribable pang of fear shot up his guts as his hands shot to his ears, blocking out the calling from behind.

No! GO AWAY! He screamed internally, his vision blurred threatening to dissolve into the darkness engulfing from the rim of his sight.

His heart thumped violently as his chest heaving, panting, sucking in air to fuel his run and the rising anxiety within him. Subconsciously, his hand went up to his heart, clutching it tight as though trying to hold it within his fist.

In the course of it all, he failed to notice a small pothole, a concave spot on the ground and his right leg plunged right into it.

A sharp pain shot up his ankle, making him lose his footing as he fell forward, landing on his hands.

In the period he fell, the man chasing behind him caught up and a huge force grabbed onto his right arm. His blue eyes widened in fright, another wave of panic course through him.

I NEED TO GET AWAY! NOW!

Immediately he pushed himself off the ground and continued running forward, violently jerking the hand upon his arm.

But the first step he took with his right leg made him stumble, almost crashing into the ground. In the course of his leg landing into the hole, he must have strained his ankle. A sharp pain ate into his ankle.. He could feel the swell already taking place. But he took no notice and continued to put pressure onto it as he took another step forward.

But the man was already on him.

He let up a cry of surprise mingled with shock, horror and fear as he crashed face down onto the icy ground all covered in snow with the man pressing on top of him.

"NO! GET OFF ME!" He screamed hysterically.

A/N:

Hi guys it's me again. This was the part i said i written during my trip and i didn't add on anymore after that. To be honest i was pretty disappointed. I'm reading other people's work and they have like over 100 reviews with just 5 chapters and when i look at mine.. i just feel sad. It's probably my story is boring that no one wants to read it.. guess i'm just disheartened. Maybe writing just isnt my thing. I'll see what happens over the next few weeks/ months? Maybe i'll just discontinue this and stop writing.

Thanks Aroisu T for the nice review though :) But really sorry if this story never got to complete.

Anw, cos i added alot of new characters (and some who appeared briefly before) in this chapter, i decided to do a character intro here to make things easier for you guys.

Toya's team: East Wing

Kinomoto Toya - leader of the group, good with coming up with plans, possesses leadership skills

Kurogane Youou - you know him

Fujisawa Ryuji - the prison guard who guarded Fai's cell in chapter 10, good with herbs and treatment. Slightly foul mouth but possesses a kind heart

Itsuki Hikari -loud, outspoken and slightly whiny guy, guy who brought Toya to the underground cell, doesn't seemed too bothered by what he did in chapter 10 (no guilty conscious), super realistic and pragmatic person

Sadamori Kai -inexperienced soldier who haven't done it, blushes super easily, naturally good hearted, innocent, generally curious

Hashiyama Junta -slightly over touchy guy who likes to whack, strangle people and ruffle their hair, good at sword fighting

Hitsuda Kesuke- soft spoken, another archer inflicted with Jakori poison via a cut across the arm

Yagane Shio - person of little words, has great pride as an archer, inflicted with Jakori poison via an arrow in the shoulder

Ogari Hirochii - quiet guy who doesn't speak unless necessarily, solemn but gives off a reliable feeling

Tanaka Mitori- DIED

*EXTRA MAN: Fai Flourite-you know him too

Oh. The new title i wanted to change to was "Untold Story in Shara Country".
