* At school. In Subaru's and Yuki's Classroom. *
School just ended and the two students grabbed their bags, then walked out of the room. Once Yuki closed the door, she looked up and saw something move around the corner. It looked like a person.
A person? Yuki thought as she slowly walked towards where the "someone" walked off to.
"Where are you going?" Subaru asked, annoyed.
"I want to check on something..." Yuki said. "You can go ahead to the limo, since it'll leave in five minutes..."
She turned the corner and heard Subaru's steps faded away as she walked farther and farther away. She once again saw a figure enter a classroom.
Yuki ran towards the door and looked up to see what classroom it was. The label was too hard to read in the dark, so Yuki opened the door.
* In a classroom. *
Yuki entered the classroom and closed the door behind her. She looked around as she walked deeper into the dimmed room. All she saw were desks and chairs, until she noticed that a window was opened. She walked towards the open window and leaned out, looking if there was anything around.
Nothing.
Yuki stood straight and closed the window, locking it. She tilted her head to one side and had a puzzled look on her face.
"Huh...? I was sure that it entered this classroom..." Yuki mumbled as she looked behind her.
Yuki noticed something on the front desk where the teacher teaches. She walked over to the desk and noticed someone - or something - had left a closed letter with a black rose beside it. She picked it up and flipped the letter to see who it's for and from. It's addressed to "Yuki Komori" and the sender didn't put its name.
Yuki heard the clock ticking and decided to open it in her room, so she placed the letter and the black rose in her bag. She then walked out of the classroom and headed to the Sakamaki Manor by foot.
~ Later ~
* In the Sakamaki Manor. In Yuki's Room. *
Yuki had changed out of her school uniform and did her homework even though tomorrow was a day-off. After finishing her homework, she went to sleep since a bit later, she and Yui were going in the gardens to pick some white roses. Yuki completely forgot about the letter and the black rose that were deep in her bag.
~ The Next Day ~
Yuki had woke up earlier than she expected. When she looked outside, it seemed to be early morning with a cloudy weather. She got out of bed and decided to have a walk around the Sakamaki premises.
In the end, she ended up walking into the gardens with the white roses. The wind blew making Yuki shiver a bit because she only wore her pajamas with a jacket. She also tied up her hair in a high ponytail.
Yuki stared at the white roses and started daydreaming while staring at the rose.
Just some yards away, on the stone gates, there sat a boy with black hair and golden-colored eyes which gleamed as he stared at Yuki. He wore dark-colored clothes and completely blended in with the shadows. He's been watching her since she arrived at the Sakamaki Mansion and none of the Sakamakis ever noticed his presence. He's always been watching Yuki, always.
Next to him, his partner leans on the wall quietly.
"... The awakening will manifest without awaiting its time, huh...?" His partner mumbles.
"Seems so..." The boy with black hair answered.
"You left the rose and letter today, right?" The partner asks.
"Yeah."
"Did she see you?"
"No."
His partner looks at him and sighs quietly.
"What did you write-"
Before he could finish, the boy jumped from where he sat and looked at his partner.
"Let's go, Ren... The Sakamakis' have sensed us..."
The two moved away from the Sakamaki premises and disappeared.
Yuki -who's still in garden - decided that she should go get some rest since just a few hours later, she would be meeting up with her sister Yui to pick some roses.
~ Later in the Day ~
Yuki had dressed into her casual clothes and met Yui in the gardens with red roses. She noticed that her sister had already picked some of the flowers and had cut another one from its stem. She also noticed that her sister was spacing out.
"Yui!" Yuki called as she knelt beside her sister. She smiled. "Sorry I'm late..."
Yui didn't answer, she was still in "dream-land".
'You and your sister were offered up to us as a sacrifice... By the very church you have such faith in.' Yui replayed Laito's voice in her head from the night in the church.
That can't possibly be true... Yui thought.
"Yui...?" Yuki shook her sister's arm lightly. "What's wrong...?"
Yui snapped out of her thought and looked at her younger sister.
"Yuki..." Yui said. "I'm sorry. I was lost in my thoughts." She tried to smile and succeeded.
"You've picked so much already..." Yuki stared at the bundle in Yui's lap. "I guess rose-picking is finished?"
Yui stared at the bundle of roses.
"I guess so... Sorry, Yuki." Yui said as she picked up the bundle in her arms and stood up, Yuki stood as well. "Next time, all right?"
Yuki nodded. "Okay... Then, I'll be going back to my room." She said and walked away from Yui as she waved at her sister. Yui waved back and became lost in her thoughts once again.
"Yui..." Someone called her and Yui looked up. It was Kanato. "I would like you to bring those roses with you and follow me." He ordered.
Kanato wore a black hoodie-vest with a long sleeve, white shirt and a red ribbon underneath. The vest has straps that go over his upper arms. He wears it with black shorts and red pants with a checkered pattern that go below his knee. He also wears short black knee-socks and dark shoes. In his arms, as usual, was Teddy.
Yui hesitates of whether she should follow or not.
"I don't like to be kept waiting." Kanato snapped.
Yui followed Kanato with the bundle roses in her arms.
* In a Graveyard. *
Before Yui and Kanato left the garden, Yui wrapped the bundle of roses - that she picked earlier - with a black-colored paper and tied it securely to keep everything together. The two walked into the graveyard with a little bit of fog that blanketed the area. Yui continued to follow Kanato, but confusion swell up in her to why Kanato brought her here.
"What are we doing here?" Yui spoke as she looked around the graveyard.
"Graves are so deeply dark and full of the smell of death." Kanato explained as he walked towards a large grave stone. "I think they're great, don't you?" He asked and Yui didn't respond. "I love graves. They're so cold and quiet," he stopped in front of the large grave stone and some of the fog had lifted, a bit, "and indifferent to terror. My mother lies here." He informed the quiet human with the bouquet of roses in her hands.
"Your mother passed away?" Yui asked, not daring to stand beside the vampire.
"I killed her." Yui's eyes widened from the sudden information. "Would you believe that?" He added and turned around to glance at the terrified human. "Although it hardly matters. Right, Teddy?" He asked the stuffed bear in his arms.
"Please place those roses here." Kanato instructed.
"Um, sure." Yui answered as she set the roses on the grave. "Well, I'll be going now." She started to walk away from the grave and Kanato.
"You are very self-serving," Kanato commented and Yui stopped to look at Kanato, confused to why he said that.
Kanato tightened his grip on Teddy, holding the bear closer.
"I especially invited you here, but you leave the second it displeases you." Kanato said. "You have a lot of nerve!"
Kanato picked up the bouquet of roses and started hitting the grave angrily with the roses.
"Stop it!" Yui told Kanato, and he does. "You mustn't!"
The bouquet of roses became a bouquet of stems and Kanato released it from his hands, letting it drop to the ground beside him.
"Don't order me around, you lousy mortal!" Kanato hissed angrily.
"But this is your mother's grave, isn't it?" Yui asked as she locked eyes with Kanato.
"WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND ABOUT ME!?"
"I'm sorry." Yui apologized.
Kanato glares at Yui and slowly walks closer to her.
"It's tiring when you apologize, so please don't! Do you get a kick out of deceiving others!?"
Yui starts to back up, but trips, falling to the ground. Kanato laughs at her clumsiness.
"That's incredible, Yui! You should see how pathetic you look!" Kanato exclaimed.
Yui looks away, not meeting Kanato's eyes.
"Now crawl around in the dirt some more and cry like the pathetic girl you are." Kanato says with his eyes wide. "Then I may forgive you." He starts to laugh again.
"I'm... Sorry." Yui apologizes quietly.
Kanato stops laughing.
"You are very sweet." He comments, "That's enough."
Yui looks at Kanato and he suddenly pins her to the ground.
"Kanato?" She calls.
He smiles creepily at her and opens his mouth, showing his fangs. He slowly moves his head down, aiming for Yui's neck. She turns away and shuts her eyes.
"Stop!" Yui exclaims.
Kanato closes his mouth and looks at Yui.
"I forget... If mortal women aren't given a kiss before being pleased, do they become angry?" He asks.
Yui looks at Kanato with confusion to what he was saying.
"What are you talking about, Kanato?" She asks the vampire on top of her.
"You women are such a pain." Kanato sighs and leans towards Yui, now aiming for her lips.
"Stop it!" Yui protests.
Kanato kisses Yui.
After kissing Yui, he pierces Yui's neck and drinks her blood. He stops and just for a moment, sniffs her neck.
"You smell like something I remember." Kanato points out, then starts chuckling. "Why is that? You smell so familiar to me."
He then plunges his fangs again, a little higher than the first bite, and drinks. Yui gasps.
"N... No, that hurts!" Yui says, "Kanato...!" He stops.
"Yes, I forgot." Kanato says, annoyed. He then runs his hand through Yui's hair. "I should make it feel good, shouldn't I?"
Kanato starts to run his hand down Yui's throat and then he pulls her up. He bites her chest and Yui yelps in pain.
"You're so delicious." Kanato comments as he continues to drink.
"No, Kanato. Please, stop." Yui pleads.
Kanato stops drinking and his purple eyes looks at Yui greedily.
"I won't let you go."
~ Meanwhile ~
* In the Swimming Pool Room. *
Yuki was sitting on the edge of the platform. She took off her black stockings and shoes, placing them beside her. She had her feet splashing in the water softly, creating ripples on the clear surface.
Yuki was staring at the water blankly.
On the surface of the water, an image started to appear. Once the image was clear enough to see, the image showed a white feather.
As if she was hypnotized, she slowly reached towards the image.
Just before she her hand touched the surface of the water, someone pulled her back.
"Hey, Candy!" Ayato called. "What are you doing?"
Yuki didn't answer, but just continued to stare blankly as if she was a marionette, waiting for its master to pull its strings.
"Hey." Ayato called again and he turned Yuki around, staring at her. "Hey, Candy!" His hands on her shoulders, getting ready to shake her.
Yuki blinked once and she stared at two green-colored orbs that stared right back at her. She blinked again and notices that it was Ayato.
"Ayato...!" Yuki calls in surprise.
She struggles against his grip and steps back, except there's nothing to put her feet down. She plunges into the water.
Ah... I'm going to die... Yuki thought as she sees someone in the water, swimming towards her.
It only took Ayato a minute to get Yuki to the surface, but to Yuki, it felt more than a minute.
Once on the surface, Ayato swam - with Yuki in his arms - to the platform. He gently "threw" her onto the platform and he climbed out of the water.
Yuki isn't moving, nor is she responding. Ayato curses under his breath and calls her nickname.
No response from the soaked mortal.
He then rolls her over - so that she's facing him. He leans closer to Yuki and their lips touch. He breathes into her and removes his mouth from hers.
Yuki reacts and starts to cough out the water that had entered her body.
After coughing out all the pool water, Yuki turns around to look at Ayato.
"Ayato..." Yuki says. "... Thanks for saving me..."
"Hmph. Yours Truly got soaked after saving you, so of course you should thank me." Ayato said with a smirk.
Yuki stood up and starts to walk towards where she sat early, but is stopped by Ayato, who grabs her wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?" Ayato asks.
"To get my stockings and shoes." Yuki answers as she tries to pull her hand away, but couldn't. "Please let go."
"Give Yours Truly something in return before you go."
"'In return'?" Yuki says.
"Yeah. Like blood, or a kiss." Ayato suggests with a smirk.
Yuki thinks about what she should give in return. Blood or a kiss. She decides she wanted to stay alive, so she goes with kiss even though she doesn't want to give anything to him.
"Fine..." Yuki says as she kneels beside him.
Yuki quickly places her lips on Ayato's and removes them. She starts to get a bit red.
"There..." Yuki mumbles and stood up again, walking to her stockings and shoes.
After grabbing her things, she slips her shoes on and looks behind her to glance at Ayato - who had left already.
"Weird... Usually he'd be asking for more or something like that..." Yuki mumbles, then shakes her head. Her fingers then traces her lips. "His lips are cold..."
Yuki then left the swimming pool room and heads to her room.
~ Later ~
* In front of the Sakamaki Manor. *
Yui had walked back to the mansion by herself. She walks towards the mansion.
Someone was watching Yui.
"What are you doing here, Richter?" Subaru appeared beside the man.
Richter replied, "Won't you call me 'uncle', Subaru?"
"Shut up and get lost."
Then the wind blows vigorously and Subaru holds his arm up, covering his eyes.
"The awakening will manifest without awaiting its time." Richter said as the wind calmed down.
Subaru uncovered his eyes and saw that Richter was gone. He then looks towards Yui - who was entering the mansion.
"The awakening will manifest?" Subaru repeats.
* In Yuki's Room. *
Yuki pulls out the black rose and the letter that she got yesterday.
"I forgot about this..." Yuki mumbles as she opens the letter.
After reading it, her eyes widens in sudden fear and confusion.
