~ The Next Night ~

* At school. *

Yui was asked by her teacher to go and get materials needed for next class. As she walked through the halls of the school, she realizes that she should have asked the location of the needed materials. Yui sighs at herself and continues to walk aimlessly through the halls.

The mistake of forgetting to ask the teacher where the materials were was soon replaced by the response of why her sister was absent today. She remembers what she was told earlier...

~ Flashback ~

"Where's Yuki?" Yui asks as she looks around the limo, not seeing her sister anywhere.
"You do not need to worry about your sister." Reiji says. "And I advise you to not go find her when we return."
"Why? Did something happen to her?"

No one answers.

~ Present ~

Yui kept replaying what Reiji told her: ...I advise you to no go find her...

Why...? Why... can't I go check on Yuki...? Yui wonders and stops in the hall. Are you all right... Yuki?

Suddenly, Laito appears and calls out to her questioningly.

"Little Bitch?"

"Laito..." Yui calls, turning around to see the hatted vampire.
"What are you doing~?" Laito asks with a grin. "Are you waiting to be assaulted by standing in a hall with no one else around~? If that's the case, I'll happily answer to that hope of yours~"
"You're wrong... I'm searching for the materials that my teacher told me about." Yui says.
Laito tilts his head. "What a coincidence~ I happen to have some business in the Reference room as well."
Is that where the materials are? The Reference room? Yui smiles in relief. "Then, if you don't mind, can I come with you?"
"I don't mind~" Laito says with a grin and gestures for her to follow him.
"Thank you!"

"You're a dim-witted person, aren't you?" Laito asks and Yui looks at him in confusion. "Did you not think what would happen if Kanato saw you walking together with me like this?"
"Wha-Wha-" Yui stutters.
"I'm joking~ You don't need to worry since Kanato must be in the classroom right now."
Yui hesitantly nods at Laito's reassurance.
"What a liar you are, Little Bitch~" Laito snickers. "Your expression clearly says that you hadn't thought about that at all~ Some time has passed since you and Snow came to us and you should understand Kanato's temperament by now."

Laito stops and looks at Yui.

"Is your heart fickle because you haven't completely become Kanato's?" Laito asks curiously. "If so, you can always come to me," he adds with a wink.
Yui didn't hear Laito's last statement and mumbles the word: "Completely", to herself.
"Even if Kanato is still drinking your blood, you're body is still pure."
Yui blushes and sputters out unrecognizable words, but her expression clearly asks how he knows this.
"Nfufu~ I can tell by your scent, Little Bitch." Laito smirks.
"Such a thing... can be known from a scent!?" Yui says in shock.

"You're becoming nervous, Little Bitch~" Laito points out, pleased. "I can smell your sweat."
My...!? Yui thinks and blushes even more.

Then the sound of footsteps echoes in the quiet hallway. Laito looks up and grins, looking accomplished.

"This took faster than I thought," the vampire comments.
Yui looks at Laito with confusion and he gestures with his hand to the side. Yui follows his hand and her eyes widen.

"Ka-Kanato!?" Yui gasps.

The triplet with Teddy appears with a cold expression, his eyes glaring at Yui.

"Kanato's mood seems to be in a perfectly bad form~" Laito snickers.

Kanato stays silent, but continues to glare at Yui before walking up to her.

He really is in a bad mood... Yui thinks as she watches Kanato walk closer to her. She yelps in pain when he grabs her by the wrist.

"We're leaving," he says quietly.

"Stop it, Kanato~ You're hurting, Little Bitch~" Laito says.

"It's none of your business, Laito." Kanato replies.

Kanato's grip tightens around Yui's wrist and she winces.

"It does seem like that, doesn't it~" Laito agrees cheerfully.

"Don't open your mouth then," Kanato says, his eyes narrowing at Laito. He then turns to look at Yui. "Let's go."
Kanato begins to drag Yui away and she struggles against his grip.
"W-Wait, Kanato!" Yui says. "I've got to go get materials from the Reference room."
"Silence." Kanato said coldly, his grip tightens more.

Yui shuts her eyes from the pain.

It feels like my bones are breaking...! Yui says.

"Kanato," Laito calls with a chuckle. "Would you like an advice?" He asks.
"I would not like one." Kanato declines angrily.
"Don't say that when you haven't heard it~" Laito says with a smile. Then, he approaches Kanato and his smile disappears. "If you continue to dawdle, then Little Bitch will be snatched away." He whispers to his younger brother.
Kanato's breath catches and Yui looks at the two with confusion. She couldn't hear what Laito said to Kanato.

Before Yui could ask about it, Laito grins at her.

"Well, I guess I, the intruder, is going to make his leave now~" Laito says. "I'll see you later, Little Bitch. Work hard to pacify Kanato~" With that, Laito leaves.

After the hatted vampire leaves, Kanato begins to drag Yui again, heading towards the staircases.

"Kanato! Please let go! It hurts!" Yui pleads. "Please, Kanato!"
"SHUT UP!" Kanato yells and begins to breathe heavily.

The human notices and her expression changes from a pained look to a concerned one.

"Kanato...?" Yui calls worriedly. "Kanato, I... didn't do anything with Laito." She assures him.
"Do not speak of another man's name." Kanato hisses, his eyes narrowing at Yui, who flinches. "... It's always... and always... like that. Every time I see you, you're... with another man..."
"That's not my intention! We met only by coincidence!"
"I don't believe that," he snarls. "I don't believe you!"

"Kanato!" Yui snaps.
"WHO, EXACTLY, DO YOU BELONG TO!?" Kanato asks loudly.
Yui's eyes widens. She tells herself that she can't give Kanato an answer that's wrong, especially when he's in a state like this.

"T-To you... Kanato..." Yui stutters.
"Is that true?" Kanato asks quietly.

The human nods and the boy smiles.

"Yui is... mine..." He says in a dazed voice. "If you belong to me, why won't you become what I want you to be? WHY RESIST ME THEN!?"
"No, I'm not!"
"You are! And that's why you were with Laito without a problem! You belong to me and yet it doesn't seem like you have enough awareness of that!" Kanato points out. "That's why I'll teach you a lesson."

Kanato leans close to Yui's ear and whispers: "I'll teach your body fully who it belongs to." He then licks her ear.

"W-Wait! We can't be doing it here...!?" Yui quickly stutters out.
"The location shouldn't matter." Kanato says as he takes off her ribbon.
Yui blushes. "People might pass by though..."
"It's even better if we're seen." He smiles. "Look at that mirror over there."

Yui looks at the mirror and sees the reflection of her and Kanato in the full-length mirror. She watches Kanato move towards her right side and starts to suck on her skin, earning a gasp from her. Kanato chuckles.

"Look at yourself in the mirror," he says with amusement. "It's a good opportunity for you to see what dirty expressions you normally make whenever you're in my arms."
Don't look... Yui tells herself, but she can't deny it.

Kanato continues to assault her neck as Yui quietly watches.

"The Yui in the mirror seems to only belong to me," he points out. "You're cute." He whispers, making Yui blush.

"Yui, make more noises so that it resonates throughout the school... Like this," he asks as he bites down, earning a gasp.

It's just a lie... His words... are a lie... Yui tells herself as Kanato continues to drink. Please... God!

~ Later ~

* In the Sakamaki Manor. In the Halls. *

Yui was on her way to Laito's room with orders from Reiji.

So, the brothers despise each other…But they sit down for meals together, like a shallow parody of a normal family... Yui says as she stops suddenly. She looks up to see that she had unconsciously came to her sister's room instead of Laito's. Oops... I accidentally walked to Yuki's room instead of Laito's...

Yui stares at the door quietly. She raises her hand to knock, but before it could come in contact with the door, someone grabbed her hand. Yui turns around to see a pair of blue eyes and blonde hair.

"Shu..." Yui calls out in surprise.

Shu narrows his eyes at Yui.

"What are you doing?" Shu asks, releasing the human's hand.
"Um," Yui says. "I... I wanted to check up on Yuki. What are you doing here, Shu...?"
"Checking up on her," he replies while gesturing towards the door.

Shu reaches for the door knob and turns it, but doesn't push open the door. He releases the knob after turning it back and faces Yui.

"... You're not allowed inside." Shu says.
"Can I just see her? I need to know if she's all right."
"... No..."
"Please!"

Shu closes his eyes in annoyance.

"Reiji told you to go fetch Laito for dinner, right...? Go and get him." Shu says as he reaches for the door knob and turns it. He opens the door a bit and carefully enters the room without letting Yui have a glimpse of anything beyond the door. He closes the door behind him.

Click.

Yui reaches the knob and tries to turn it, but Shu had locked it. She removes her hand from the knob and gives up, remembering that Reiji does not appreciate tardiness. The human begins to walk down the hallway. This time heading for Laito's room. The person who Reiji asked Yui to get.

* In front of Laito's room. *

Yui arrives in front of Laito's door and hesitantly knocks on the door.

"Laito! The monthly dinner's today, remember?" Yui announces.

No answer.

Maybe he's sleeping? No, we just came back from school... Yui says and knocks again, a little louder than the first knock.

"Laito?"

"... Oh, I'm not eating dinner." Laito responds, his voice sounding out of breath. "I'm a little... busy..."

As Yui stands outside, she hears muffled grunting and gasping coming from the other side of the door.

Huh...? Those weird noises, he's... Yui begins her thought, but Reiji appears at the end of the hall.

"Yui? Are you dawdling for a reason?" Reiji asks, clearly unhappy about her progress in getting Laito.

"No," she answers and the bespectacled leaves. "So... What should I do...?" She asks herself as she looks at the door.

... I guess I'll just leave... There's no way I can get Laito to do anything... Not to mention those weird noises coming from the inside... Yui says and turns to leave, but stops when she hears her nickname.

"Little Bitch~? Where do you think you're going~?"

Before Yui could turn around, Laito grabs and yanks her into his room. She yelps in surprise and is thrown onto the ground of Laito's room.

"... Ow..." Yui says and looks up at the hatted vampire. "Wh-What was that for...!?" She asks him.

"Did you think you could get away from me~?" Laito asks playfully.
"No... You didn't need to be so rough," Yui says.
Laito smirks. "Did I scare you?" He asks.
Of course I was! Is what Yui wanted to say, but instead says: "What are you doing anyways? Reiji says dinner can't start without you..."

"Let's just say I'm... enjoying myself. If you know what I mean~" Laito replies, his smirk widens.
"Eh...!?" Yui says as she slowly realized what Laito meant and looks away, embarrassed.
"Nfufu~ What's the matter?" Laito asks. "Don't look away... In fact, I think you want to watch..." He snickered.
"No! No! I don't want to!" Yui quickly blurts out.

Laito grabs Yui to stand, then pushes her onto the bed. She closes her eyes quickly. He gets on top of her and smiles.

"Alright then~ I'm gonna whip it out!" Laito says happily. "Look at it."
"... What...?" Yui says.
Yui slowly opens her eyes and watches Laito reach into his pants. He pulls out... a crossword puzzle.
"Nfufu~ I love crossword puzzles!"

"Wait, so that's what you were... enjoying?" Yui says, completely embarrassed for thinking of something else. "You-You tricked me!?"
"Me? Trick you? But I didn't do anything~" Laito says innocently with a pout. "I didn't tell you a single lie!"
"Yes, but you..."
"So what did you think I was doing~? Really, Little Bitch..." Laito wonders and snickers at her. "Get your head out the gutter~"

"What...! For-Forget it!" Yui says angrily. "Reiji's been calling you downstairs. He says it's dinnertime."
"Nfufu~ Forget about it. Let's just ignore him." Laito says with a grin.
"But..."

"Anyways, don't you think it's strange for us to learn how to eat like humans?" Laito asks.
"That did cross my mind..." Yui replies hesitantly.
"But you want to know why we go on like this. Right~?"
Yui nods. "... Why do you do this...?"

All emotion disappears from Laito's face.

"Because we're all scared of... 'that man'," he says.
"'That man'...?" Yui repeats with question.
"Once a month, this tyrant forces us to sit down and eat dinner together." Laito explains.
The human blinks in confusion and asks, "... Okay... So who's this... 'tyrant'?"
Laito seems to look like he'll tell her who, but changes his mind at the last moment. He grins and shrugs mockingly.
"Who indeed?"

"Nevermind. That sort of thing doesn't matter. If the others are too scared to defy our household tyrant, that has nothing to do with me. So let's enjoy our beloved crossword puzzle together." Laito adds as he sits on his bed, opening his crossword puzzle book. "Just. The. Two. Of. Us."

Yui sits up as well, watching Laito look for an empty box.

"Now... onto the next box..." He hums.
Yui frowns as she watches Laito.
He dodged my question... Just who was he talking about?

"So..." Laito says, bringing Yui out of her thoughts. "What do you think this next word is?" He shows her his book.
"Huh...? You're asking me?" Yui asks.
He nods. "Yes, didn't I say we'd be solving the puzzle together?"

Yui takes the book and looks at the question Laito pointed to. She hands the book back.

"Do you know, Laito?" She asks.
Laito narrows his eyes, but his smile remains on his face. "Maybe, maybe not... Either way, it's boring to straight-up tell you~ Right?"
"... But you already started the puzzle yourself..."
Laito chuckles. "Yes, but I already know the final answer. So I want Little Bitch to do what's left~ So you really don't know the answer?"
Yui shakes her head. "No idea."

"Oh, well~ If that's how it's going to be... Looks like it's time to punish you~!" Laito hums and grabs her wrist.
Yui shrieks as he pulls her towards her. She blushes.
Wh-What does he think he's doing...!? She wonders.

Laito moves her hair and sees the bite marks that Kanato made earlier at school.

"Did Kanato do this~?" He says with a grin, then pierces her neck.

Yui winces from the pain as Laito drinks.

"Ah... Oh... Little Bitch's blood is as sweet as it always is..." Laito says between gulps. "... Let me suck on you more~"
"It hurts!" Yui whimpers as she clutches Laito's clothes tightly.
"Oh... Your twisted, suffering face... It's incredible!" Laito whispers in her ear and continues feeding. "Oh... mmm..."
"But... it was just a question... Why are you punishing me...?"
"Nfufu~ Thank you, Little Bitch... Thank you for not answering the question," he says with a contented sigh. "... You're so nice. This was the best dinner ever..." He sighs again. "... My stomach's so full it's about to burst."

Yui releases his clothes and scoots back.

"Oh..." The human says stiffly after hearing Laito's cheeky thanks accompanied with a smirk and a shrug.

"What's the matter?" Laito asks as he tilts his head. "Are your wounds hurting you? Or maybe... it's your chest that hurts?" He chuckles.

"Of course my wounds hurt! They're wounds!" Yui states angrily. And now that he mentions it... My chest... is starting to hurt too.

"Tell you what, I'll let you in on the crossword puzzle's final answer." Laito says, ignoring her anger.
Yui stares at the vampire in surprise. "... Eh?"
Laito smirks. "The final answer is... 'Sacrifice.'"
"... 'Sacrifice'...?"
He snickers. "What kind... of sacrifice would you become?" Laito wonders out loud.

"Don't lump me in... with a stupid crossword puzzle!" Yui snaps and slides off the bed. She runs out of Laito's room, not caring that she'll get punished by Reiji for not completing his orders.

"Oh, look... she ran away," Laito points out with amusement. "And I'd only told her half the answer... The complete answer to this crossword puzzle is 'Sacrificial Bride.'"

Laito finishes his crossword puzzle. He flips the page, starting another puzzle and grins.

"Little Bitch, you are the bride who became a sacrifice. What kind of an idiot would give his love to a sacrifice?" Laito murmurs. "... Honestly, humans... they're so interesting."

~ The Next Night ~

* In the Halls. *

Yui was on her back to her room and wonders what Reiji will do since she didn't show up at yesterday's dinner orbring Laito down either.

I wonder what kind of punishment Reiji will give me... I hope I'm forgived, but that isn't possible... Yui says as she shivers. Her eyes widens as she sees Reiji down the hall. Speak of the Devil...

The bespectacled returns her look in silence, then narrows his eyes at her.

"What is it?" Reiji asks. "How rude... staring at someone's face like that." No answer. "If that is all, then excu-"
"Uh, umm...!" Yui stutters out and he raises a brow. "That is... What are you... doing here?" She asks, trying to start a conversation.
"... Huh? I do not know what you want to hear... but I am simply returning to my room?"
"I-I see. I'm sorry for bothering you..."

Just what am I doing...? If Reiji suddenly remembers what I did yesterday, I'll definitely get punished! Yui scolds herself.

"... However, I have changed my mind. I am going to make a minor change to my schedule." Reiji says, pushing his glasses up.
Yui looks at him in surprise. "Eh...?" Did he remember?
"You shall be keeping me company for awhile," he requests with a smile.
"U-Understood..." She replies hesitantly. That's a relief, but... "B-But where exactly are we going...?"
"How troublesome. Do you honestly need an explanation for every little thing?" He asks, then continues down the hall. "It is a waste of time. Let us go."
"Alright..." Yui quickly hurries after Reiji.

~ Some Time Later ~

* In the Game room. *

"... Checkmate." Reiji declares. "This should make it the 15th time."

Yui winces from reality and groans from frustration.

"If I did not know better, I would no doubt assume this was your first time playing chess. It is clear that you are lacking in both sense and intelligence."

I can't exactly... deny that... Yui says.

"Shall we play another round? Perhaps this time, the Goddess of Victory might smile upon you."
"I-I'm done!" Yui says.
"What a shame. For me, that was an enjoyable pleasant way to kill time..." Reiji says, disappointed. "That bitter expression you wear is not so bad either," he adds.
"P-Please don't make fun of me!"
Reiji smiles at her. "I was not teasing you, my dear. I do not lie."
"I'm leaving!" Yui stands in frustration.

"My my, how frightening..." He chuckles, but his smile falls from his lips. "However, you are not allowed to leave the room without my permission. I might reconsider your punishment for yesterday and today's if you get on your knees, lower your head and beg... Well then, go on."

T-There's no way I'm going to do that...! But... Yui thinks as Reiji suddenly chuckles.

"Please do not take it seriously," he tells the human.
"Huh...?" She asks, looking at him with confusion.
"It was a joke. There is no merit in detaining you. You are free to go as you please. Like a prized doll, there are many substitutes for someone like you."
So mean... Like always, Reiji really is an unrepentant jerk... Yui notes as she sits back down in her chair. Reiji raises a brow.

"I would like to play another round." Yui says, determined to win.
"If you say so," Reiji says, amused and resets the board.

~ Meanwhile ~

* In Yuki's room. *

Reiji had fixed Yuki's room back to its livable state. All her furniture (that was destroyed by Subaru) were replaced with new ones. The glass shards were cleaned up and the window had new glass fitted back into them. Except the motif of her room was changed from blue to black since they had no more blue curtains and only had black or white. Reiji settled with black and with that, everything was the same except for its color.

Yuki lays stomach-flat on her bed. She groans and writhes in pain... Her left shoulder blade hurts. The excruciating pain had dared her to scream out loud, but she bit her bed sheets and used her pillow to muffle her cries. Tears ran down her face as she clutched her bed sheets with her hands.

It... hurts... so much... Yuki cried as she felt the pain coming back.

Then it finally happened. The thing that gave Yuki endless pain was her prized treasure that she had forgotten about which was her wing.

Yuki's wing was large and if she had her other wing, she'd be able to encase herself within the feather-like shell. Unfortunately, she only has her left wing left and her head throbs. She winces and closes her eyes as she sees her memories, that she had willingly forgotten, all come back to her. The sudden remembrance was too much for the poor one-winged angel and she faints.

But... Yuki's wing was black like a crow, and not white like a dove. What happened?

* In the Game room. *

Yui lost another game and Reiji chuckles as he asks if she wants to play another round. She accepts the challenge and he nods, resetting the board. Yui began to space out from sleepiness and Reiji began to speak. He notices her dazed look and raises a brow.

"... Are you listening?" Reiji asks, making the first move."Well then, repeat what you just heard."

"Eh?" Yui says, looking up at Reiji.

O-Oh no... I dazed off... Although I'm slowly adjusting to this way of life... I still have a long way to go. Yui notes to herself, but beings to panic. What should I do? Alhtough, I should've been listening, it all just flew over my head...

"You are truly hopeless," he says with a sigh. "Falling asleep in the middle of a conversation and a game like that."
"I'm sorry..." Yui apologizes quietly.
"It cannot be helped. Let us change the subject." The bespectacled suggests, gesturing her to make her move on the chess board. "Since you seem to be falling asleep from the long night, I shall recall to you an exceptionally pleasant tale."
"From your past...?" Yui asks, moving a chess piece.
"Yes." Reiji smiles and moves his piece. "If I remember correctly, there is a full moon today, just like that night. Indeed, that night I met your father-" He begins.
Yui's eyes widens at the mention of her father. "M-My father...?" She repeats.

~ Flashback ~

* In the Garden. *

"Karl Heinz... Why are you-" Beatrix, the mother of Shu and Reiji, asks, her question directed to an empty garden. She hears footsteps and gets startled, only to find that it is only her first son, Shu. "... Ah, it's you. What's the matter, Shu? What are you doing in this place?"

"... I should ask you that," Shu says.

"Ah... That seems to be the case," she agrees with a wry smile. "What does it look like I am doing...? Please stay with me for a while, Shu..."

Shu stays silent and obeys his mother's request.

~ Meanwhile ~

In another part of the garden, Reiji watches the two in silence and leaves.

* In Reiji's room. *

"Is this a photo of the woman who's the target?" Someone called Seiji asks.
"Yes," Reiji replies with a cold smile, "so do not make any mistake."

"... However, this truly is an unusual situation. It is almost unbelievable that there would be a day where I would exchange words with... a Vampire Hunter." Reiji remarks. "Now, will I be able to rely on you?" He asks.
"...I'll definitely complete this request." Seiji replies coolly, tucking the picture in his coat. "And one day I'll be back to kill you too."
The bespectacled smirks. "Indeed, you are always welcome. I shall look forward to," he says with amusement; "a very long term... relationship with you."
Seiji scoffs and then leaves.

Alone in his room, Reiji chuckles.

"Soon, you will personally find out," he begins. "Who the superior one is... Isn't that right, mother...?"

~ Present ~

After hearing Reiji's "pleasant" tale about his past, Yui stays silent and decides her next move on the chess board.

"What is wrong? You look quite astonished." Reiji says with a chuckle. "I had my mother killed by your father- Do you not think it is an amusing story?"
"... Why..." Yui asks weakly after moving her chess piece.
"Regardless of what it was, the reason does not matter, does it? Either way, the story is not finished."
"Eh..."
"Using his splendid skills, your father efficiently took care of my mother. Then, in the few minutes before that person ceased to breathe... I made my way to that place. When I arrived, your father has already left- My mother's breathing has already grown faint."

~ Flashback ~

* In a field (the place that Reiji mentions). *

Beatrix lays on the ground, gasping in pain. She flinches when she hears footsteps. It's Reiji and he looks at his mother dispassionately.

"... Reiji..." Beatrix whispers out his name, but Reiji remains unresponsive. She coughs and blood comes out. "... I... see... this was by your instigation... wasn't it..."

The bespectacled continues to remain silent.

Beatrix laughs in pain. "Indeed. Finally I was able... to... witness your capability."

Reiji narrows his eyes in confusion.

"I... always thought... that you would... be the one...to k... ill me..."

Her son inhales a breath of surprise.

"... I am... satisfied..." Beatrix coughs out, then smiles at her second son for the first time. "... Thank... yo... u."

"... Wha..." Reiji says, stunned from his mother's last words. "... In her final moment.. she dies smiling? That is... unforgivable. I will not allow it." A snarl twists in his face. "I have no intention of giving you a peaceful death, Mother... That is something that I simply will not allow."

"... I will not let you," he adds, furious.

~ Present ~

"... How terrible..." Yui says. The person who killed Reiji's mother is my father, who is a Vampire Hunter... And the one who instigated this was Reiji... This has to be a lie, right? The human asks herself. Why? Having his mother murdered... Why would he do something like that...

Reiji chuckles. "You look quite pale. Did you find this story unsatisfactory?" He says.
"I... didn't want to hear such a story," Yui tells him.
"My my. Are you saying you are displeased even though I graciously took the trouble to tell it to you? You certainly are rude."
"But... such a awful tale has to be a lie... right?" She asks hesistantly. "Please tell me it's just a story you made up, Reiji."
"Why ever would I bother creating a story just for the likes of someone such as you?" Reiji asks. "Do you think yourself worthy of me wasting such time and effort?"
Yui flinches from this and he smirks.

"Ah, yes... There is actually more to that story."
"More?"
He nods. "Indeed... That woman probably intends to make a fool out of me by dying with a smile."
Make a fool out of him...? Is... that really how it is? Yui wonders. As far as I can tell after listening to that story, she doesn't feel like the type of person to do that.

"That is why I have come to decision. Next time, I will make certain that she suffers through all kinds of agony as I kill her." Reiji says.
"... Huh?" Yui says with widened eyes. "You're saying 'next time' but... Reiji, your mother is already..."
Reiji chuckles. "With this, the story reaches its end. What is your impression?"
Yui has nothing to say.

I'm not sure what to think... All of this are just things I can't bring myself to believe. Reiji committed matricide? My Father is appearently a vampire hunter? I... don't know anything. Just what is going on...!? Yui says.

"It seems you are so lost that you have been struck speechless," Reiji notes with a chuckle. "... Splendid. I would like to see more of such an expression from you."

"Reiji..." Yui murmurs. Don't tell me that he told me such a story only for that purpose...?

"From here on out, I shall give you more things to be bewildered about." The bespectacled informs the human, then laughs lowly. "Please do look forward to it... Checkmate."
