~ The Next Night ~

* In Shu's Room. *

The sun gradually dipped behind the horizon and the last rays of the late afternoon sun fell slanting through Shu's window. The dim room slowly darkened as the sun finally disappeared from the sky; and in its place, the moon rose. The lights switches on, brightening the room with its dull light.

Yuki's eyes slowly opens as she awakes from her sleep. A smile spreads over her mouth which then spills into her eyes as she stares at Shu, who's still sleeping. Then, Yuki decides to get up after watching Shu sleep. She begins by first sitting up on the bed, careful not to wake the sleeping vampire. Once she was up, she winces in pain and wonders where it came from.

Slowly, the angel realizes where the pain was from and her face reddens. She shakes her head and slides out of the bed.

Yuki finds her clothes under Shu's light blue sweater and picks it up, then drapes it on his desk chair. After that was done, she picks up her own clothes and dresses herself.

As Yuki pulls the white dress over her head, she hears movement from the bed and turns around. She sees Shu turn on his side and hears him mumble something, but the angel didn't catch what he said.

Worried, Yuki gets back on the bed and sits on the space where she just slept in.

"Shu...?" Yuki calls quietly as she looks down at him.

Shu groans and turns his head.

His breathing sounds heavier... A nightmare? Yuki wonders.

"Ed... gar..." Shu mumbles. "... Fault... Edgar..."

"Edgar...?" Yuki repeats. "Shu―"

Suddenly, Shu wakes up with a gasp and is heaving and shaking. Yuki leans closer and looks at him with worried eyes.

"Shu? Are you all right?" Yuki asks the vampire, who turns his head and looks up at her.

"Yuki..." Shu says slowly.
"Yes...?" Yuki answers.

Shu's eyes widens a bit, then closes as he chuckles at himself. This makes Yuki look at him in confusion.

"Shu...?"

"You're not Edgar... You're different him." Shu notes as he pulls Yuki's hand and pins her to the bed.

"What's wrong, Shu...?" Yuki asks as she looks up at the vampire.
"Even if... this house was burned down... you would still remain by my side." Shu leans down towards Yuki's neck. "You will never... be separated from me."

Yuki lets out a gasp when she feels Shu's fangs piercing her neck.

Shu... He must still be shaken up from his nightmare... Yuki says as she places a hand on his head.

"What am I going to do with you...?" Yuki asks as Shu removes his fangs from her neck.
"... Yuki..." Shu calls and kisses her. Then, he bites down on her shoulder and drinks.
"... I won't leave you... I'll stay beside you, Shu..."

Yuki faints from blood loss and Shu stops drinking. He looks down at the unconscious angel and a wry smile appears on his face.

"I've warned you... But in the end, you came to remain by my side." Shu leans down, his lips close to her ear. "Yuki..." he whispers darkly. "To the point of wanting to suck you dry... I... love you..."

~ Later ~

* In Yuki's Room. *

Yuki's eyes opens and she stares up at her bedroom ceiling, wondering where she is.

"I'm back in my room..." Yuki points out and sits up. She feels herself losing strength and places a hand on her forehead, rubbing her temples.

Must be because of blood loss... Now that you mention it, I haven't eaten anything yet... Yuki says to herself and slides out of her bed. I wonder what Shu's doing... He brought me back to my room. I wonder why?

Yuki walks to her dresser and fishes out a black cardigan, a black tank, a dark blue pleated skirt, black leggings, and a pair of black boots.

I'll grab something to eat later... First, I'll take a bath to clear my mind. Yuki takes the clothes she just took out and leaves her room.

~ A little later ~

Yuki enters her room and closes the door behind her. Her eyes widens when she sees Ayato sitting on her bed.

"Ayato..." Yuki calls out. "What are you doing here?"
"I can go wherever I want." Ayato responds.

Yuki lets out a sigh and walks to her dresser. She places the clothes she just wore on the top.

"Hey, Candy." Ayato calls out.

"What is it?"

"I was so sure that you died."

"What are you―"

"You can't fool Yours Truly."

Yuki turns around and her eyes widens in surprise. In a blink of an eye, Ayato was already standing in front of Yuki.

"You... You're the girl who played with us when we were younger." Ayato says. "You're not human."

Yuki turns her head to the side.

"As I slowly remember about that time... I realized that you've already belonged to Yours Truly even before you came to this mansion. But..."
"But...?" Yuki repeats. I have a bad feeling... Why?
"You've disobeyed Yours Truly and gave your body to Shu. And for that, Candy, you should be punished."
"Wait, Ayato―"
"Don't talk back to me!"

Suddenly, Ayato slides Yuki's cardigan off her shoulder and clicks his tongue when he sees the bite marks that Shu made earlier. Ayato then leans close to Yuki's skin and bites down, blood trickles down. Yuki gasps in pain.

Ayato stops and moves up to bite her neck.

"Ayato... It hurts...!" Yuki whimpers as she grips his clothes tightly.

"It hurts?" Ayato chuckles. "Your face strained with pain… is the highest temptation. Let me see more of it."

As Ayato continues to drink, Yuki begins to feel her consciousness slip.

"Please stop... Ayato," she mumbles.
Ayato stops and Yuki falls against him, breathing heavily.
"Your blood... It's thicker now that you had fun with that sluggish man."
"Please... don't take anymore... I'm already feeling... faint..." Yuki says.

Ayato chuckles at Yuki, but his smile quickly disappears as he leans down close to Yuki's ear.

"Promise me that you will only look at me. If you can't, then forget about seeing anyone... I'll make it so that you can't move." Ayato growls. "Until you remember it, I'll teach your body over and over again... That your mine, that is."
