Wally wasn't sure what was going on. He was sitting innocently in the lab when he noticed a news story on the television. There were heroes being bad mouthed by a hairylipped reporter. As irritating as the man was, it wasn't what confused him or held his focus. The young heroes were digging through the rubble, a civilian possibly trapped.
Those were never good. Tight space. No way out. Oh no.
He took a few deep breaths and looked away from the screen for a moment. He did not need a panic attack. Not in front of these practical strangers. It was maybe four seconds before he looked back. His heart seemed to shoot out of his chest seeing an all too familiar face being pulled out from the rubble. His heart soared as his blood turned to ice. Both fear and joy coursed simultaneously throughout his body.
"Oh man."
Blue Beetle. Jaime Reyes. From his dimension. He knew in an instant, he had to find out where he was being taken to.
Well, it seemed to be good luck then, that his boss was an Avenger. It was as good an equivalent as being a member of the Justice League so Wally wasn't complaining too much. Granted, he was really hoping he would be caught. Not only would getting caught doing what he was going to do list him as a potential terrorist, but could also cost him his job.
Eh. Freshman Beetle was more important.
Now he just needed to steal one of Stark's suits...
"Are you sure it's a good idea letting Webhead talk to it?"
"We'll be watching. And Fury has it restrained. Nothing is going to happen Tiger," Nova commented leaning back in his chair.
"It seems quiet enough. And it hasn't done much since Fury talked to it."
Danny hummed quietly as the monitor came to life with the restrained beetle individual and their leader Spiderman.
"So, it's been awhile Blue Beetle."
"Ah. Not so long P-Spiderman."
"About a month."
"H-Has it really been that long? Time sure does fly," Blue Beetle squeaked.
"Why does the robot sound Mexican?"
"Nova!"
"What? He does!"
"Since when did we start callin the robot a 'he'."
"Since he sounds like a Mexican guy!"
"Okay you two cool it-"
"Stay out of it Powerman!"
"We were worried when we found you under the rubble."
"Uh huh."
"You're not much of a talker are you?"
"Not really, ese- Wai- uh, what were you saying?" Blue Beetle asked looking embarrassed. His eyes seemed to dart from Spider-Man's lenses to far to the right, as if trying to look behind himself with a small glare.
"You've just been kind of... Distracted. Are you alright?"
"Ye-No! Yes! I mean, yes. I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Si. Lo siento. I'm just... Tired. A building falling on you takes a lot out of you."
"Don't I know it," Spiderman chuckled.
Blue beetle gave his own small smile. They continued with small talk until an alarm went off.
"Stay here," Spiderman stated quickly.
"Uh..."
Spiderman darted out of the room before Blue Beetle could say anything.
"Where was I going to go anyway?" he scoffed looking down at his wrists.
Great. A red alert, and he was strapped in a chair. Well, if he listened to the scarab...
No. It had already caused some trouble that he regretted. He leaned back and kept an ear out, unaware of what was occurring elsewhere on the ship.
My brain feels like pudding. But I have this... I think it's an update.
