What You Wish For
Chapter 11
Thank you everyone for your reviews! Good, bad, indifferent – I appreciate them all! I know this story has taken a different turn and its sort of the one in charge at the moment, not me. I'm just going along with where it leads me. It's been three years since I worked on this piece and I'm a very different person to the one I was when I started it. I'm also VERY out of practice with the writing so please be kind! I'm getting back into the groove. As I have stated from the beginning – this is an eventual E/O Story. I know that disappoints some of you and I'm sorry! But I have got other Olivia/Fin stories on here. And there are more in the works so hang in there.
I know the last chapter was a bit of shock to people – me too haha! And there were a lot of questions about Fin's reaction. Don't worry! That's going to be in the next chapter! This chapter is a VERY short chapterette. It's an interlude so just go with it. There's another chapter coming soon! Please stick with me! I appreciate you all so much and love the feedback you give!
I don't own ANYTHING!
Everything was glowing a dull golden hew. That was the first thing she noticed. It was warm. Not too warm but a nice comforting warm that held her in its embrace. The air was thick and smelled faintly of eucalyptus. That was weird. Why would it smell of eucalyptus? It was hard to remember how she had gotten there. Or why she was there. Time didn't seem to be moving in a linear fashion. Had that door been there the whole time?
She was in a room. A hospital room. There was a window and sun poured through it cheerily. White lilies stood tall in a vase on the table by the window. There in her arms lay a tiny baby. Dark hair and dark eyes, olive skin; beautiful. His little hands gripping her finger tightly. She smiled down at him, rocking him gently in her arms. Brushing a dark strand of hair from his face she breathed him in. That milky, soft smell that babies have. He was hers. She knew this, even if she couldn't make sense of anything else that was happening. He was hers and she was his. They completed each other. She would protect him with her life.
There are smiling faces all around. The faces are blurry; hard to decipher, but she can feel that they are friends. Possibly family. Her new family perhaps. A future that she had never imagined having. This is it now; in her grasp.
Suddenly he is gone. Her arms are empty. Looking around the room in case she has misplaced him to no avail. The light has drained from the window. The flowers are wilted. This would all feel incredibly cliché if she could stop the horrible churning of her stomach, the racing of her heart. Where is her baby?
Sadness. Immense, immeasurable, insurmountable sadness. She feels it flooding through her, filling her being. Tears fall, unhindered, down her cheeks. Great rolling droplets of sadness splattering onto the tiled floor below. Her limbs feel heavier than before, dragging her down. It's hard to breathe. She can't will her lungs to draw oxygen. She can't find the will to move. What is happening? Where is her baby?
Her eyes fog; hindered both by the tears and pain and the fading light. What is happening? The darkness is consuming her. She can't breathe, she can't see, she can't move. Darkness is taking over.
Everything fades to black and nothingness.
I know it's short! There's more to come soon! Fic xox
