Chapter 30
Tatoe donna ni... - Kana nishino
"Ma… I'm sorry I couldn't do much to help you all this time."
"Why are you crying? I'm just happy to know that you guys are together. You, Merli and Kiyoteru are healthy and take care of each other. You have friends that are there for you. What else can I ask for? I can finally rest peacefully." Kaito's mom smiled.
"Can we come in?" Merli said, knocking on the door.
"Yes dear… I think it's time for Kaito to rest. He's overwhelmed with me." Kaito's mom laughed.
"Eh? How rude" Kaito said, laughing and wiping his tears. "I'll be heading out."
"He headed out to the waiting room where everyone else was waiting and put his hands on his face holding in the pain.
Rin stood up and hugged Kaito.
"It's ok. You did everything you could." Len said.
"I… can't think that I won't be able to see her again… It can't be her last day…" Kaito sobbed.
"I need to go home and think." He wipped his tears. "Thanks for everything" He smiled.
"Let us know if you need anything, ok?" Rin said.
He nodded and walked out.
"It really hurts to see him suffer like that..." Len said. "I don't completely understand what it's like to be in his situation, but if it hurts me just watching him, I can't imagine how much worse he feels."
"I have to be stronger than this." Kaito said to himself as he walked into his room. His sleeve got stuck on a wood chip on the side of the door. He sighed and pulled on it, revealing the flower mark. "Aoki!" He gasped and ran in.
He looked all over and couldn't find her.
"Kaito?" Merli peeked into his room. "What's going on?"
"Oh nothing!" He smiled and picked up something random. "I thought I lost this"
"Oh... kay." Merli said unconvinced and walked away.
"It can't be..." He mumbled to himself.
His phone made a sound, and he looked at it. "Hey... uh... I know this is probably not the best time... but I still wanted to let you know... we're having a concert in a week and wanted to know if you want to join? If you don't feel ok that's fine... We will understand." It was Miku.
He sighed. The only thing that was attatching him to the village was his mom, and she refused to have a funeral. She had already passed away and staying there would just make him feel worse. But now there was Aoki. However, something told him she would be ok.
"It's ok. I'll be heading out to the city today. I'll join." He typed.
He packed up everything and looked at his room one last time. It was like when he first left his house. Sad, but exited. Scared but ready to move on. It wasn't a new thing he hadn't gone through.
A/N: If you're confused on the beggining, I did not skip a chapter. I was just mean enough to skip a scene and leave the door open to ideas on what happened in between.
"Why?" you ask?
Have you ever seen a movie then wondered why they skipped something? Shhh... just sit and enjoy the movie. Err... I meant story.
