Chapter 34
Brand new me - Kana nishino
"That concert went so well. I don't understand how we're still so famous after so many years." Kaito said, holding a blue ice cream.
"Gah. It's weird that I still get nervous at times." Len said, looking into the mirror and fixing his ponytail. "It feels like the crowds at concerts just keep getting bigger."
"Are you thinking of doing another song? Because there's no way I'm fixing my hair once the concert is over." Gakupo laughed, approaching Len and messing with his hair.
"Eh! No.. just... why not fix it?" Len sighed and fixed his hair again.
"Maybe he finally has a girlfriend..." Gakupo said winking. "He's been single for the past century."
Len glared at Gakupo.
"Uh.. well.. changing the topic... I'm thinking of going to the village. I haven't visited my siblings in a while." Kaito stood up and looked at a calendar. "Since we just had the concert I thought it would be a good idea to go tomorrow since we'll be having the next concert in over a week. And it's not that far from where we'll be having the next concert."
Len took a look at the calendar too. "I want to go. "It's been a while since I last got out of the city. Can't forget that I also came from a village."
"Cool! Sounds like a plan. I'll be leaving on the first shrinkasen tomorrow morning to get to the village by noon. I'll meet you in the lobby in the morning."
Len nodded. He reached out for his phone and looked at a message from Rin.
"Look at this late present I got for my 21st birthday! Isn't it cute?" Len scrolled down and saw a photo of Rin holding a huge orange plushie. He bursted out laughing.
"Look at this" Len said, showing it to Kaito.
"Oh! She finally got it?"
Len looked at Kaito, and Kaito's eyes turned big. "You got it for her?" Len said with a smirk.
"Shhh... you know nothing!" Kaito pointed at him and then left.
Len laughed to himself. "It's funny that after so long they still don't tell anything to each other." He thought.
He left to the hotel and quickly ran up the stairs to avoid crazy fans. Once he went into his room he opened the window and felt the fresh air go into his room.
"Ah, the village. I'll finally get to feel free!" He threw himself onto the bed picturing himself when he was younger.
"How strange is it that it feels like just yesterday I was still living in a village. Time passes too fast. As a child we wanted more, but now we just want to run away to somewhere calm. I would love to be little again."
He got up and packed up his things to go with Kaito. He was exited as he was when he first became a Vocaloid.
"I still can't believe nobody has suspected anything yet!" Merli whispered to Aoki as she headed to the counter.
"Yeah! I really thought they wouldn't let us work together because we look like siblings. The hair thing was a great idea. I still feel weird with this hair color though." Aoki touched her hair.
"It looks great on you! You pull it off really well." Merli said.
Aoki smiled. "Oh! I almost forgot that I have to pick up the paint today! Sorry I have to leave a little early. I'll see you later!"
"I'll leave the keys under the flower pot. I left the window to your room open in case you do freak out and can't find them."
"Hey! I'm not that forgetful, am I?" Aoki said, removing her apron.
"Maybe?" Merli laughed.
"Ok, well I'll see you!"
Aoki ran off to the paint shop and picked up the paints for her house. She got out and put the paint cans on her bike, then drove off home.
As she stopped in front of her house, she looked at it for a little while. "I really would like for Kiyo to still be here sometimes." Aoki sighed, then went inside, leaving the paints in the kitchen. The house was completely clean as she had put everything in the storage room. Now that she was living alone, she didn't need many things. She had more than enough.
She went to the garden shop and watered all the plants. Kiyo had left her the garden shop, but with all the repairs over the years, Aoki now worked two jobs. The garden shop and now at the convenience store with Merli.
"Hey! I'll be there in a minute." Aoki said, calling Merli.
"Perfect. I just got home. I'll wait for you here."
"Ready?" Kaito said to Len.
"My brain tells me I shouldn't have woken up so early." Len yawned. "But yeah. Let's go."
They went to the station and Len followed Kaito onto the shrinkasen.
"If you're tired, you can sleep." Kaito looked at the map. "I'll let you know when we get there. It'll take a while."
"Sleep is for weak!" Len yawned.
"What keeps you awake now? Is there someone you've been thinking about?" Kaito said with a smirk.
"EH?" Len pushed Kaito. "Why does everyone think I'm seeing someone? I don't really talk to many people in general to even see someone."
"Mind if I ask something personal?" Kaito said.
"Sure, why not. We got a million hours to spare."
"Have you not dated anyone all this time because of what happened with Aoki?"
Len sighed. "To be honest, I'm not sure. I guess if I found the right person, I would probably consider dating. I try to look forward."
"Yeah. You still got time to look anyway. I'm starting to get old."
"Psh, you don't have to look. You have your person except you're still too chicken to say anything."
Kaito pushed Len. "Hey! I like being patient."
Len laughed. "I think 6 years is way too patient! You could totally be married by now!"
"You're too young to understand." Kaito said, petting Len's head. "Watch and learn."
A/N: Yes, this chapter is after a long time passed. Literally and also in the story!
It's funny because as I am writing this story.. The time passing there is almost the same as to the actual time that passed until I started writing this story again. So as I change the characters personality a bit, I can't help to think... Wow! I too have changed. Thinking of how I was years ago when I started writing this story... Oh gosh. Here I'll agree to what Len said in this chapter... "I try to look forward" Lol
