Whatever You Need Me To Be
William was cursing Bella as he threw up what he ate just a few hours ago.
"First I had to shallow that disgusting food and now this!" William said before continue emptying his stomach.
No! It wasn't Bella's fault it was Jacob and Edward's fault. Jacob's for answering the phone and talking about a funeral without mentioning it was Harry's; Edward's for not asking for Bella and deciding to just go and get himself kill. William concluded as he flushed the toiled and went to the sink to wash his mouth only to realize that water wasn't going to help him get rid of that disgusting taste on his mouth.
There was a knock on the door. "Bells? Are you alright?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine dad." William answered as he opened the door. "I think I eat something that upset my stomach."
Charlie nodded and allowed William to pass as he entered the bathroom.
William gave a sigh of relief and went to Bella's room.
"I shouldn't have let Bella talk me out of going with them to Italy." William said as he sat on the bed.
He was worried sick since it has been 3 days since Bella left with Alice. He had managed to avoid eating for the pass 3 days but today Charlie was home all day and he had to cook him something that he couldn't avoid eating since Charlie had asked him if he wasn't going to eat with a confused face.
There was something else worrying him. After Bella left William went back to the house to get his laptop. By chance he caught his reflection on the mirror, it seems like his gift decided that he not only needed to make sure Charlie was safe, he also needed to cover up for Bella, since it wasn't his face that he saw but Bella's; but there were some small differences, the most obvious were that her skin was a bit more pale and her eyes were bright red. He had to get some contacts but the contacts would suddenly not being there anymore, it confused William but he got more and constantly replace the contacts before they banished without him realizing.
But what bother him the most was that he was stuck in Bella's form! He thought that as soon as he left the house to go hunting he was going to get back to his original form but soon realized with horror that he was still in Bella's body. He tried to change back but he didn't know how his gift worked. Was he going to impersonate Bella until her return? He was contemplating going to Volterra and look for Bella. But he knew that if his worst fears were true he wasn't going to find her. So he hoped and prayed that Bella would come back soon.
In the end William decide to relax and listen to music. He missed being able to sleep, for those few hours of rest and not having to worry about anything that was going on around him. He decided to just not think about it anymore and try to enjoy his new life, no regrets.
He reflected on the last three days and how he had to go work and meet that Newton guy and tolerate his pathetic attempt at flirting with Bella. He just played dumb and made Newton feel stupid. Yesterday Lauren and Jessica decided that it was a good idea to imply that she was a slut in front of Mike and the few clients that were in the store. Only for him to make them run out of the store in tears, Bella was going to be so mad when she finds out about that one.
Bella. He had been thinking about what he learned 3 days ago. Bella didn't only know about vampires, her ex-boyfriend and his entire family are vampires. The Cullens had taken her in and then left without thinking about the danger that they had already got her into, leaving her at Victoria's mercy. Jacob was also an enigma, for some reason he stink like the wolves that tried to attack him when he was fighting Victoria. Before he could interrogate him the whole fiasco of Edward going to the Volturi happened and he hasn't seen the teen since.
As soon as he heard Charlie snore he was out of the room and running toward the woods to try to find a decent meal.
When he finished draining the deer that he caught, he realized that someone was following him. He listened and hear not only one set of foots but 5. He began to run in the opposite direction, he could hear them getting closer. Up ahead of him was a river that he was about to jump to get to the other side when he saw a wolf trying to hide behind a bush, and he didn't doubt that the other weren't far away.
He decided to use a tree to impulse himself to jump over whoever was following him. He managed to do just that and ran as fast as he could toward the north. After a while he left them behind. William looked at his phone and saw that it was barely 2am. He was about to look up where he was when he caught Victoria's scent, it was fresh. William decided to follow it.

William was frustrated because he hasn't been able to catch up with Victoria yet. He checked his phone to realize that it was already 9pm again. William gasped and started to run toward Forks. Hopefully Charlie hasn't notice Bella's absent.
William became aware that he was being followed. He could tell there were vampires, maybe Victoria got some friends. William changed direction as he didn't want to take Victoria and her friends back to Bella's place. He knew the odds of taking more than 3 vampires at a time and by what he could hear there was a total of 5 vampires right behind him. He was about to jump across a river but he noticed the wolves were on the other side.
He had to stop himself, as he turned around he came faced with the vampires that were chasing him. They were 3 men and 2 women. He stared at them while he tried to coming up with plans that would allow him to come out of this in one piece.
"Bella?" The tall burly guy said confused.
This had William's worried eased since they knew Bella they could be the Cullens. Besides they had the golden eyes that he knew the animal drinkers should have.
"You must be the Cullens." William said.
"Yes, I'm Carlisle Cullen and this is my family. This is my wife Esme, next to her is Rosalie and these are my sons Emmett and Jasper." Carlisle said not sure what to think, who was this vampire that looked just like Bella.
Rosalie looked at William with a look that showed her confusion at seeing Bella.
"My name is William Evans. I'm Bella's friend." William said. "Do you have any news when Bella is going to come back?"
"Their plane will arrive in two hours. Alice saw a vampire running around in the woods and we decided to take a look." Carlisle said.
William gave a sigh of relief when he heard about Bella's return.
"Alice saw a vampire in the woods?" William asked and then he remembered Bella saying something about Alice having a gift but she never specified what kind of gift. "Is she some sort of seer?"
"Yes but we could discuss the rest when we are on our way to pick the other up." Carlisle said gesturing toward the way they came from.
William nodded and followed the Cullens. He could see how Jasper was cautious about him with the way he keeps looking at him with a calculative look. When they arrived at the Cullen's house William suddenly became self-conscious since he could tell that they knew that he and Bella had been coming to their house.
He suddenly felt at easy but was confused by the sudden feeling. He looked at Jasper, he had to be the one trying to influence his emotions since he knew that he had a gift like Alice.
"So, did Bella and Alice manage to save Edward?" William asked. He wanted to say Romeo but thought better of it since he didn't know if they saved him.
"Yes, they made it just in time. They are safe and on their way back to us." Carlisle answered.
They piled up on the car and were on their way to the airport. William decided to go with Carlisle and Esme since he wanted to talk to Carlisle some more.
"Carlisle. I was wondering if you knew something about the Quileute tribe. There was this guy, Jacob, that seem to know a bit too much about vampires and he kind of hates you." William said.
"We have a treaty with the people of the Quileute tribe that allows us to live in peace. They don't expose us or attack us and we don't kill any human or set foot on their land." Carlisle said.
William thought about it for a bit and then he realized something. "Hey, since you lived here before do you know why there are wolves the size of horses?"
"Wolves?" Esme asked. "There are wolves still around?"
"I thought they died out." Carlisle said.
"Hmmm? What do you mean?" William asked.
"Some members of the Quileute tribe have the ability to become wolves." Carlisle said.
"Oh, so that's why Jacob smelled like the wolves. He is one of them." William concluded to himself.
"Who is this Jacob? How do you know him?" Esme asked curiously.
"He was one of Bella's friends. Apparently they grew apart a couple of weeks ago." William said.
"Bella is friend with a werewolf?" Esme asked with worry on voice.
"Like I said they grew apart and she doesn't know that he is a werewolf." William said.
William realized that they arrived at the airport and were out of the car in less time than he expected. He soon found himself waiting with the Cullens in the waiting area. They didn't have to wait long and soon he could see Bella, Alice, and another guy that was obviously Edward. Jasper went to Alice and Esme hugged Bella thanking her, she then hugged Edward and chastised him. Carlisle thanked Bella.
William took a step forward to let Bella know of his presence. Bella noticed him and her eyes widened in horror.
"Hey." William said as he hugged her even though Edward kept his arm around Bella, he also notice how Edward stiffened when he put his arms around Bella. He then took a good look at her. "You look like shit. Did you have any sleep while you were gone?"
Bella was still in shock and only managed to shake her head. William only shook his head and then looked at Edward.
"You must be Edward." William said as he offered his hand to shake while he made eye contact with Edward.
Edward only frowned when he saw his crimson eyes.
"Yes William this is Edward. Edward this is William." Bella said after she notices how stiff Edward was. William frowned and dropped his hand.
"We should get going." Esme said.
They got to the parking lot and got in the cars. William wanted to talk to Bella but seeing how Edward was with her he decided to drive back with Carlisle, Esme, Jasper and Alice; while Bella and Edward went with Emmett and Rosalie.
On the drive back Alice explained everything that happened on their trip. William was overwhelmed by everything. So Bella have to become a vampire?
"Where are they going?" William asked after he noticed that the others were going to take a different road. He also noticed with relief that he was back on his normal body.
"They are going to drop off Bella." Carlisle said. "She needs to sleep."
"Oh yeah" William said. "They know that I was impersonating Bella while she was gone?"
"Don't worry, I already told Edward that he needs to take Bella to her room, after all she is supposed to be sleeping." Alice said.
William relaxed and lay back on his sit while he contemplated what to do now that Bella was back. Where the Cullens here to stay? Why Bella didn't tell him that she had a vampire boyfriend or well ex-boyfriend? Were they back together? Judging by the way Edward had his arm around her they were. William was so confused by how things were changing suddenly. He wished Bella could be there to talk to. He had gotten used to talk to her about everything.
They parked outside of the Cullen's house and he decided to just stay outside until he could talk to Bella.
"Excused me" William said as he ran to the forest to hunt and wait until Bella contacted him.

William had been walking around the forest for the last 14 hours and he hasn't gotten a phone call from Bella.
Maybe now that the Cullens were back she didn't needed him around anymore. William felt dejected after he thought about being by himself in this new life. For some reason he felt worse than when he lost his parents. He was contemplating what to do now when his phone began to ring.
"Hello" William answered.
"William? Where are you? Are you ok?" Bella asked.
"I'm ok, I was just waiting for your call." William said.
"Oh, alright. I'm sorry, I'm just waking up. Can you meet me at the Cullens' house?" Bella said.
"Sure." William answered with a smile.
He ran as fast as he could to the Cullens' and soon as standing outside their door. Before he could knock the door was opened by Esme and she greeted him with a smile.
William couldn't help but smile back. He followed her to the dining room and found everyone in there. Bella got out of her seat and went to hug him but almost tripped over her own feet before she reached him. William caught her and chuckled when he saw her blush. He the hugged her, he could finally feel how the stress of the past few days left his body.
They separated after a few seconds and Bella dragged him to the table. He sat beside her and looked around the table. Everyone was looking at him with curiosity on their eyes, well except Edward; he was looking at Bella with a worried face.
"So Alice told me that you all know what she promised to the Volturi." Bella said. After she saw everyone nod she continued. "So they will send someone to check, and I'm sure that's something we want to avoid."
"So now this involves you all. I'm sorry about that." Bella said and looked around. William was confused by Edward's grimace face. "But, if you don't want me, then I'm not going to force myself on you, whether Alice is willing or not."
Why won't they want Bella she was one of the nicest persons William had ever met. William notice that Esme was ready to protest but Bella stopped her before she could.
"Please, let me finish. You all know what I want. And I'm sure you know what Edward thinks, too. I think the only way to decide is for everyone to have a vote. If you decide you don't want me, then… I guess I will go back to Italy alone"
William's eyes widened and he couldn't help but grab Bella's hand. Bella looked at him surprised.
"Bella, I'm not sure where you want to get with this, but I want you to know I will always want you in my life, you had become by best friend so quickly that I can't imagine my life without you on it." William smiled at her. "So I don't know what you are asking but if I can help all you need to do is ask and I'll do it."
Everyone was quiet around the table looking with stunned faced, even Alice was surprised. Edward was looking at William and Bella with shock and uncertainty clearly on his face.
"I want to become a vampire." Bella said without thinking.
"I don't see how that's a problem." William said with a smile.
Edward snapped out of his shook and stood up growling. "NO!"
Everyone was ready to stop a fight if it got to it.
"I don't see how you get a said in this. I understand that you are her boyfriend but this is her life." William said as he stood up. "She is free to do whatever she wants with it."
"She doesn't know what she is asking for!" Edward shouted.
"In the contrary, I think she knows exactly what she is getting herself into. She taught me everything that I needed to know about vampires and I'm doing just fine." William said as he smiled triumphantly. "I own her big time; if I haven't found her with that other vampire then I don't know what would have happened to me."
"Other vampire?" Esme asked.
"Laurent, he was about to kill me when William showed up." Bella said.
"WHAT?" Everyone around the table yelled, except Alice and Edward as they already knew what happened.
"He hasn't been around; I think the wolves scared him off." William said.
All the Cullens knew that Lauren was most likely dead as it was unlikely that he was able to outrun the wolves.
"William, thank you for your offer but I want to know what the Cullens think about the current situation." Bella said.
William nodded and watched as everyone around the table voted and he also noticed how Edward became more upset with every 'yes'.
In the end yes won. Edward had to take Bella back home and William stayed with the Cullens after Esme insisted on him staying.
"Besides, you are my cousin." Alice said. "Bella told me the cover story you guys used."
"I'm sorry; at the time I thought it was a good idea." William said.
"Don't worry, we don't mind. We are grateful that you were here for Bella." Carlisle said. "If you don't mind me asking, are you able to take the appearance that you want?"
"Unfortunately I don't. For some reason my gift decides what my appearance will be." William replied. "The first time that I changed appearance Bella was thinking about Alice."
"Interesting" Carlisle said with a thoughtful look. "I also noticed that you don't act like a normal new born vampire. Normally they are too thirsty to be able to be around humans without killing them."
"Well, when I'm away from Bella or humans in general I become really thirsty. I guess the last thing they need is a blood thirsty vampire." William said with a smile.
Carlisle smiled at that but he also thought about that.
"So, you think it has to do with people's needs?" Carlisle said.
"That's what I think. I had always been willing adapt to the needs of the people around me." William said.
"That amazing" Esme said with a smile.
"Well we can discuss more of that in the morning, right now I want to see if William can handle his own in a fight." Emmett said with a smirk. "Don't worry I'll go easy on you."
