Chapter 10 – Crossover with Haikyuu!
Drottningholm Palace Stockholm, Sweden
It's been two months since he visited his sister in Japan, since he come home, he's been busy and didn't get a chance to talk to his father.
"How's your sister Erik?" His father asked. His father called him to his room, he wanted to talk about his trip in Japan.
"She's doing fine, father. She even meet a good friends, and she even have a nice part time job"
His father was silent. "Who would've thought that she can live by herself in a foreign land"
Erik softly smile "Yeah. Madeleine is no longer a kid. She can already made a decision by herself now"
His father stood up, and walk towards the window "But she didn't forget her duty, right?"
He saddened, so it's about that, he thought "Yes. She didn't, father. She will come home for her engagement"
"I see, then good. You're dismissed"
He thanked his father, and slowly walked out.
Shibuya Psychic Research, Tokyo
"Mai –"
The clad in black young boss halted midway when he saw his assistant bringing his Earl Grey tea. He smirk and plan to pissed her off again for his own amusement.
"You've grown Mai, I don't have to waste my precious voice to call you just to make my tea" he started
She glared at him "Why of course Naru, you trained me a lot. Calling for a tea every ten minutes, my body get used to it you narcissistic jerk! Why don't you stand up once in a while and get out from this cave, and make your own tea for a change!" she sarcastically said. Red face, and that fierce look that she's giving to him, that what made him fall for her deeper. She's not afraid to confront him, and she's not affected by his charm. The door in his office opened and saw his brother, grinning at him.
"Hey Mai, will you be so kind and make me a cup of tea?"
Mai put down the cup on Naru's table, when she looked at Gene she throw the tray.
"Make your own tea! You are really brothers! I'm not a tea maker!" She yelled, as she storm out the office.
"What?" Naru asked his brother, he know he's going to tease him seeing how he grinned at the door earlier.
"You really like her that much, huh? Li'l brother" Gene said, in a playful voice.
Naru blushed, and he's thankful that the room is dim enough for Gene to not to see his blushing face. Gene giggled. "I know your blushing, NARU." Gene teased, emphasizing the word NARU.
"What? I'm not blushing. And I don't like her…" he said. I LOVE her he wanted to add, but control his tongue.
Gene walked towards the door, and opened it, ready to leave "Yeah, yeah. You don't like her, but LOVE her, right?" he winked at Naru, hurriedly walked out before Naru can defensibly deny it. Gene smiled as he went to Lin's office, "Good luck on your way to love, Noll" he whispered to his self.
Mai was still busy filing the papers when the chime on the door rings. She welcomed the visitors who looked like a high school students, except for the two, the orange-haired guy, and the other guy who's smaller than the orange-haired one.
"Hey Dai-chan, is this the right place?" Tanaka whispered
"Yeah, this is it."
"But it's so… neat" Kageyama said
I can here you Mai wanted to say. She looked at the orange-haired guy who looks so amazed at the place.
"Is this really a Psychic Research Office?" He excitedly asked
She smiled at his question "Yes it is. Please have a seat, and I will call our manager right away." She guided them to the common room, and went to Naru's office.
Kageyama smacked Hinata's head "You look like an idiot"
"Ouch! You don't have to smack me, Kageyama"
"I was expecting some… intense atmosphere. Like statues or magic circle something" Tanaka commented
"Are you sure this office is reliable, Hinata?" Nishinoya asked
"Yeah. Kenma said they already solved a lot of paranormal phenomenon. Their record is clean." Hinata answered.
After some minutes, Naru come out from his office same with Gene and Lin too.
Hinata – the orange-haired guy gulp as he saw the tall Chinese man, he's scary he thought.
"What can I do for you?" Naru asked
Daichi told him what happen last week, in their gym…
FLASHBACK – Karasuno Gymnasium
"All right, don't forget to clean the gym before going home" The team captain, Daichi's last order to his teammates before they end another day of rigorous training as a preparation for the Volleyball Spring Tournament.
Nishinoya, their libero, pouted "What's with that Daichi-san? Don't be stingy. I have some story to share with you" he said.
"Oh! What kind of story Noya-san?" Hinata asked excitedly
"A ghost story from long time ago" he said in such serious tone.
All the members looked at their 'Guardian Deity'
Ghost story? They all thought.
"So, there was a story like that in here too?" The king of the court, Kageyama asked. They all started to gather, and listened to his story.
"Yes. They said, there were players who died from an accident, on the day of the national tournament. And it seems, their spirit still wanders in this gym." They remained quiet to hear more, but when the lights started to flicker, they are all frighten.
Asahi was shaking in fear "N-n-n-nishoya…. I t-t-think… w-w-we should g-g-go home now"
They all laugh seeing their ace's fearful expression.
The captain taps his shoulder "You're still a goofball despite of your huge body, Asahi"
They all halt from laughing when they heard a ball being dribbled, and a man's laughter. And as if their necks gone stiff, they are too afraid to look back.
"Hey…" a soft voice called.
When they all turned, they saw a man slightly taller than Nishinoya, and a man with the same height as Kageyama, wearing the Karasuno jersey uniform, covered with blood and bruises. And the two of them grinned.
"Wanna play volleyball?" the two ghosts said together as they toss the ball.
They are all frighten, screaming as they ran outside the gym. They are all panting, catching their breath still can't believe what they just saw.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" they asked their selves
"What the hell was that Noya-san? Was that a ghost? Or some punks who want to scare us before the tournament?" Tanaka, a fellow second year student, hysterically asked grabbing his collar and shake him.
"I… I don't know" Nishinoya answered with teary-eyes "Asahi you're not scared ri-" he didn't go on with his question when he, and the other members, saw their scaredy-cat ace in the corner trembling with fear. They all laugh at him, making them forget what they saw earlier. Then, they all decided to walked home together, and thinking a way on how to get rid of those ghosts.
"And that's what happen" Daichi ended his story.
"What's the name of your school again?" Gene asked
"Karasuno High School"
"Ah! So you're the team who lost against Aoba Josai in the semifinals during Inter High?" Mai asked. That's why they all looked familiar to her. She's been watching the volleyball tournament lately.
"Yes. And that's why we want to practice with all our strength in preparation for the Spring High Tournament, and go to Nationals" Diachi said with full of determination. "That's why…" He looked at Naru "Please help us to get rid of those ghost" he bow down, and his teammates do the same too.
"Your school is in Miyagi Prefecture, right? Who brings you here in Tokyo?" Naru asked.
"Well… about that" Hinata stated how they get to know the SPR.
FLASHBACK
"What should we do now Daichi?" Sawamura, another setter and the vice-captain asked.
Daichi was thinking when they heard a phone ringing. It was Hinata's phone.
"Hello?"
"Shouyo?" the person on the other line asked
"Kenma! How was it?" Hinata switch the loudspeaker on his phone so everyone can hear.
"There is a psychic office here in Tokyo, in Shibuya. And it seems, they are the most reliable office here and no bad records. Even their clients have good records too."
"Thanks a lot Kenma! What's the name of the office?"
"The office's name is… Shibuya Psychic Research"
"That's how we get to know this office."
"I see." Naru looked at Mai
"What?"
"Nothing" He look at the clients "We will be there three days from now"
"Thank you very much!"
"Mai. What are you doing?" Naru asked as he saw her calling someone
"Well, I have to call Bou-san and the others right? It's a case after all"
"Did I ask you to do so?"
"Eh?"
"The two of us is enough for this case" He said seriously
"Huh?" Now she's confused
Naru heard Gene's giggled, and he understands what he just said, Damn "I mean… We don't their help. We are enough for this case, you, me, Gene, and Lin" and he stood up, going back to his office. And he heard Gene laugh.
