Buckingham Palace, London, England. 7:00AM
Ren was about to enter the gate after his morning exercise when suddenly, several reporters bombard him with questions that he don't have any clue about.
"Your Highness, do you know the man who wanted to ruin your relationship with Princess Madeleine?"
Ren blinked few times "Pardon?"
"Your Highness, what's your reaction about the leaked video of the two?"
"Will your engagement tomorrow be cancelled because of this?"
"How do you feel that she cheated on you?"
"Do you know the man's identity?"
"Are you still going to –"
Ren ignored the reporters and went inside the palace. The guards stopped them from entering, but he can still hear them, yelling questions at him.
"What was that all about?!" He wondered on his self.
"Ren!" He turned around and saw his sister and brother with worried expression on their faces.
"What's happening?" He irritably asked, looking at the two.
"You better watch it." Sam stated and they went to parlor. Their parents, namely, the King and Queen are already there, watching the news.
Ren gaped as he watched the leaked video of Mai and Oliver kissing under the oak tree, near the lake. The reporter asked a question before switching to another news.
"Is he the one who will ruin the 'happy ever after' of Europe's Fairy Tale couple?"
Ren widened his eyes. That idiot! What the hell is he doing in Sweden?! "What in Mai's name was that?!" Ren exclaimed.
"We're also asking that question Ren. Do you know who that man is?" His father asked seriously. The boy didn't answer.
"Ren, you will go to Sweden right now, clear that misunderstanding, the engagement will still commence tomorrow." She ordered.
"I think Madeleine was force by that man, there's no way she will cheat on you." His father added.
"Mother, father, Mai and I are not in relationship. She didn't cheat, because there's nothing between us in the first place." He informed. "But, I will go to Sweden right now."
"We will go with you." Sam said, and Annabelle nodded.
Ren strides out from the parlor and to his room.
The king smiled seeing his youngest son's desperate expression, and brought his wife to his arms.
"I wanted to see how they will handle this as a grown and mature people."
His wife hummed in agreement.
Drottningholm Palace, Stockholm, Sweden. 5:45AM
Naru woke up by the cold wind, he snuggled closer to the person in his arms. Then he remembered the occurrence last night.
"Mai wake up, we need to get up. It's already quarter to six." He mumbled
She stirred, and slowly opened her eyes. She rubbed her eyes few times before she's fully awake. She maneuver from his hold and face him.
"Good morning." She softly greeted.
Instead of responding, Naru leaned down and softly kissed her. He smirked at her blushing face. They both rose up and stretch, Naru yawn and shake his head to be fully awake.
"Did you use the back door when you sneaked out?" Mai asked.
Naru nodded "Yeah, you?"
"I jumped from the window." She smirked at his surprised reaction "I often sneaked out when I was younger, so I'm used to it already."
"But you can get hurt." He scolded.
"I have a great reflex." She proudly stated.
Naru snorted. They started to walk back to the palace, hand in hand.
Back in to the boys' room, Gene woke up by the constant ringing of the phone. It not his ring tone, it was Noll's! He glanced at the bed next to him but he didn't find him there.
"Idiot scientist, waking up so early." He grumbled and answered his phone. "Hello?"
"Eugene? Is that you? Where's Oliver?" His father's stern and serious voice throw his sleepiness out the window.
"He's not here."
"What?! How's everything in there?"
Gene raised his eyebrow "Well, it's fine." He peaked on the window "It unusually noisy, there are several reporters outside." He heard his father cursed softly.
"Father what's wrong?"
Before his father can answer, Lin and Madoka abruptly open their door, followed by the other members. Ayako smack Bou-san's head with a pillow.
"Wake up, you old man!" Bou-san grunted and glared at Ayako. Gene ignored their usual bickering and looked at Lin.
"Where's Noll?" He asked.
"I don't know. He's no longer here when I woke up." Gene handed him the phone when his father asked to talk to Lin.
"Good morning professor... No, I didn't know that he sneaked out... I'm sorry, I failed to watch him..." The young man in question entered the room with a confused expression.
"What are you all doing here?"
"He's here professor." Lin handed him the phone "It's your father."
Naru accepted the phone from him and put it over his ear "Father."
"Noll what have you done?"
"I'm afraid I don't understand what you're talking about."
Gene irritably sighed and turned on the TV in their room. His eyes widened when he saw himself kissing Mai. Bou-san and Yasuhara dropped their jaw on the floor.
"How?" He managed to say "I'll call you back, father." Before Martin can protest, he ended the call.
"Naru! You are all over the news!" Madoka angrily exclaimed.
Gene rubbed his temple "As much as I love seeing you with Mai, I don't like how it was perceived by the public."
"True. They are bad mouthing you!" Bou-san exclaimed when they read the subtitles.
Yasuhara laughed "They even called you a relationship wrecker!" Ayako smacked his head.
"What will the King says about this?" Masako asked softly "That's what you get by getting involved with her Oliver, you hate to be in the spotlight, but she's a high profile person. Being involved with her means getting into the spotlight."
Naru heaved a sigh and ran his hands thru his hair.
"Where's Mai? How did she take the news?" Ayako asked him.
"She's in her room, probably she already watched it by now." Their eyes focused on the TV where they saw the England's Prince being bombard with questions.
"And he's genuinely confused from what's happening." Madoka stated, shaking her head.
"Let me get ready first and let's go to see Mai."
Akira was pacing in her room, she jumped when she heard a knock on her door.
"Gene." She breathed.
The medium raised his eyebrow "Are you alright?"
"No!" She cried out, she blinked and composed herself "I mean, I'm worried about Mai."
"Us too, but she's not in her room."
"Oh, The King asked for her presence."
"I see... Naru and the others are going downstairs. Come on?" He held her arms to her.
Akira smiled and gladly took it "Yes."
They met with the team at the hallway and together, they went downstairs hoping to meet with Mai alone. Erik glance at the descending people and greeted them.
He narrowed his eyes upon seeing Naru. "Oliver, I hope you can clean up the mess that you did."
"I can, and I will."
They all heard voices that were arguing in the parlor.
"What have you done! You are shaming not only our name but also the name of the British Royals!" Her father yelled. "I don't want them to think that you want to cancel the engagement! And that will be tomorrow Madeleine!"
"How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want to marry him!" She angrily exclaimed. "Ren don't want to marry me either!"
"Ridiculous!" The King breathed. "Ren wished for the throne, and his ticket for that was to marry you."
"That was when he's still a kid, father! Ren don't want the throne anymore!"
Their butler whispered something on the young prince's ears and Erik widened his eyes. He looked at Carl for confirmation, the middle-aged butler nodded.
"Father." Erik entered the parlor, interrupting the argument of the two. "The British Royals are on their way here." Mai groaned and slump her body on the couch.
"I forbid you to come out from your room until this issue was cleared Madeleine. Do you understand?" Her father sternly ordered. When she didn't answer, he asked again. "Do you understand?"
"YES!" She stumped her way out and ran to her room, ignoring the calls from her friends.
"Oliver!" Ren's voiced echoed the whole palace, he strode towards the parlor, ignoring the greetings of the palace maids and butlers. He saw the team sitting on the couch with troubled and worried expressions, his anger raised when he saw the man he's been looking for.
He gripped his clothes and glared at him. "What have you done?!" He exclaimed.
"I don't regret it. I love her." Naru slapped his hand from his clothes.
"Being involved with her means being in media's eyes 24/7, are you ready to have that kind of life?" He asked seriously. When Naru didn't answer immediately, he clicked his tongue. "I'm disappointed on you, Davis." He turned to faced Felix, Mai's footman, and asked. "Where is she?"
"In her room, Your Highness." Ren left the parlor at once to see his suffering best friend.
The room was filled with uncomfortable silence, and Erik was staring at Naru sharply. "Oliver, you said you love her, but there are consequences you need to face when you decide to be with her."
"I know." Naru said seriously. "I'm already prepared for it."
"Sorry for the intrusion Your Majesty" Erik noticed their butler's busyness "His Royal Highness, Prince George, The Third Prince of Norway, and Her Royal Highness, Princess Vanessa, The First Princess of Monaco, have arrived." He announced. "Together with their butlers." Then a couple entered the parlor, immediately sighted Erik, they are talking with him in a language that the team couldn't understand.
"Wow." Ayako and Madoka gasped. "Gathering of the royals."
The Princess, with blond hair and green eyes, took notice of them. "And they are...?" She asked Erik in English, pointing at them.
"Maddie's friends in Japan."
The other royal faced them, suspiciously studying them. "When I heard that she went to Japan three years ago, I thought, she's going to acquaint herself with Emperor Hakutokou's grandchildren."
"No." Erik shook his head "Japan's royal family wasn't even aware of her, being in their country." The two royals looked at him. "But they are nice people. They are –"
George raised his hand, stopping him from introducing them. "Don't bother introducing them to me, I'm not interested." He said sharply.
The team felt so small when he looked each one of them, when his eyes landed on a black clad young man, he glared at him, and Naru glared in return.
"Oliver Davis." He said. "You are from England, and Madeleine was England's Second Prince's betrothed, aren't you feeling guilty at all?"
"No, Your Highness." Naru answered, meeting his gaze, there's no way he will let himself get intimidated. "Mai and I love each other."
George's eyes slightly widened, and then he scoffed. "Then prove it." He said seriously. "Madeleine and Richard was seen as a 'perfect couple from a fairy tale', many people will judge you from destroying the 'happy ever after' of the two. How are you going to handle it?"
Naru remained silent. He's still thinking about it, and he swore that he won't give her up.
The young prince softly shook his head. "You should be thankful that you're not a Norwegian, nor I'm from British Royal Family." The team looked up at him, curious as to why he said such thing.
"Because if this mess was happening to me, I will instantly execute a death warrant for you, first thing in the morning." He threateningly informed before leaving the room, leaving them speechless.
Naru heaved a sigh before standing up. "I'll be in my room, I need to think."
Ren shooed the two guards standing in front of Mai's room. "It's just me, so it's alright." The two men make way for him. He knocked on her door, and it took a while before the door opened.
"Your Highness." Amelia curtsied before him.
"Amelia." He greeted "Where's Mai?"
"She's inside." She opened the door wider to let him in. He heard Mai's sobbing, she's lying on her bed, covering her face with a pillow.
"Mai, talk to me." He ordered.
The girl peeked on him from her pillow. She straightened herself and took a sit. "I'm worried about Naru." Ren frown at her, but didn't make any comments yet. "They are badmouthing him, he's not like that!" She sobbed.
"They also talk about you being a cheater, you know?"
"I don't care about that!" She exclaimed. "Naru is good guy, and he only got tangled in this mess because of me, I want to, at least, clear his name."
"I can help you." Ren grinned at her.
"How?"
Ren reached his hand and said "Let's go the garden."
Mai took his hand, and let him take her to garden. She noticed the people buzzing around the hall preparing for tomorrow's big event, they gasped and greeted when they saw the couple.
The reporters outside the gates become alerted when they saw the controversial couple. They yelled some questions about their engagement, and they yelled some questions about the leaked video.
"Ignore them." Ren ordered.
Mai groaned as they strolled in the garden. "How can this be helping Naru clearing his name?"
"I'm going to get in that part."
The girl looked up at him in confusion, but he suddenly grabbed her small waist and planted a kiss on her lips. One second later, a collective gasped was heard, and several camera lights were flashed on them.
Her cup slid from her hold, crashed and spilling her favorite hot chocolate on the floor. She saw him, on the TV news, his lips on her betrothed.
She covered her mouth as she gasped softly, as her tears flow unknowingly.
"R-Ren..." She whispered.
