Red orange skyline greeted Kate's opening eyes. Getting up, she relieved her bladder. Heading back to their camp, she saw Jess twirling a dull silver semi .45 automatic.

Tossing the pistol into the air, "Morning," she greeted catching it.

"Morning," Kate greeted.

Studying a MRE, "Eggs?" she asked tossing towards Kate.

Catching it, "Sounds delicious," Kate replied tearing the pack opened.

"How did you two meet?"

"Who's getting personal now?" stuffing cold scrambled egg into her mouth.

"Sizing you up."

"You didn't ask back at the house."

"Busy getting you ready."

"Didn't have time, huh."

Jess just smiled.

"Met him in a strip club," drinking her instant cold coffee, "and I was the stripper."

"Met him a way station on outskirts of Tulfort just before he met you."

"And we both couldn't him."

"Looks like it," looking over her shoulder, "Time to go."

Jess led the way with Kate in the middle and Rath bringing up the rear. Sections of the bridge was missing with a white silk like substance hanging like Spanish moss from the bridge ruin.

Coming to a missing section, Jess jumped onto the concrete railing. Running along, she towing the rope with her. Through the binocular Rath watched her secure the line.

Seeing her signal, "You're next," he said securing his end to a support cable.

Gripping the edge of the railing with her feet pushing against the railing surface, her chest pressed the surface. Don't look. Inch by inch. Besides her fear of splashing into what one would call water, the white substance proved to be sticking. She had to add effort to pull her hands free. Reaching the middle proved tough. If she had Jess's sense of balance, this prove to be easy. She was being a burden. Maybe prison…crap too much effort to free her hands caused her to fall. Bunging action let her eyes open. The cable didn't stop her momentum. It was some white sticking net.

"Oh shit," came from her lips as human sized spiders headed towards the latest visitor to their parlor.

Bright flames struck the spiders with flames exiting their wounds. Jess landed beside kate unloading death from Arrakis and Atreides onto those eight landed freaks. Landing Rath swooped up Kate using potential energy in the cable shot upwards. Kate slid onto Rath's back. His hands gripped the edge of the pavement letting Kate climb onto the bridge pavement.

Smoke filtered into air as Rath helped Jess up.

"Sulfur bomb," she commented reloading her semi automatic pistols.
