Gunslinger Girl Shadows of war Ch. 30: Blades and blood

Looking at Mimi, all while nursing two broken ribs as the rounds he had caught to the chest had done some damage but not enough to kill him Chris muttered
"God damn I figured being bulletproof meant bullets didn't hurt like what the fuck" and Mimi ran her hand over the dents caused by the bullets before saying
"I know you have a girlfriend but it makes you look sexy as fuck so don't worry boy the chicks dig it" and Petra, who came to visit under the guise of a prospective student, said smiling
"He is really cute what a shame that he has a girlfriend even though I wonder who it could be. Are you the one who has his soul?" and both blushed and Mimi stuck her hand out saying
"Matter of speaking yes" which to most may have meant anything but in code it proved she was the protected. Watching as he blew her a kiss and grabbed Mimi's hand Petra remarked
"Damn I wish he was my boyfriend because he is hot as shit so I am really jealous" and Mimi chuckled as Chris blushed as both girls had just admitted they loved him. Turning around Chris walked into his class and sat down with his trusty .40 caliber and a 380 P320L hidden in his boot because shockingly enough combat boots were good at hiding guns and knives, of which he had 2 stiletto knives in his boots based off the V43 knife. As he sat in his desk periodically fidgeting with his pistol as the holster had shifted during gym and with a teacher watching, it wasn't prudent to pull out a handgun to adjust a holster less he put the whole damned school on lockdown and risk making many sitting targets. Raising his hand Chris asked
"Ma'am can I get up for a minute?" and after the teacher said yes he got up and walked toward the bathroom and after ducking in the stall adjusted his handgun to a comfortable position and quickly swung around doing a quick recon before returning to the class and sitting down smiling at Mimi flashing one half of a heart. Returning the gesture the teacher yelled
"both of you, eyes back up here now and if you two keep looking at each other I will separate you" and both fell silent until the bell rang and Petra and Triela slid close and Rico tried to run the lockers. Watching that and laughing one of the angels yelled, her amber brown hair swaying
"I can beat you in this race" and Richard laughed saying
"Well brother Breanna is very special but what can we do eh?" and right as they started running Pretty boy stuck his leg out and rico just jumped on it shattering it before kicking him in the face, landing and slamming him into the group of boys who were videotaping as one yelled out
"Street fight" and Richard laughed yelling
"Her CQ game is strong don't you say boss?" and Chris yelled
"Hell yes now let's head to the gym" and looking at the group of troopers, who pulled the hound dog patches Richard said
"You all need yoga and I need a shower" and Rico yelled
"You all need to learn how to handle real power!" and everyone laughed as Chris jumped up in uniform and said
"Did someone say real power?" and they all laughed as the uniform was of a arditi member and he saw a man with his hair shaved close and a lightning bolt tattoo and Chris assumed where he saw one he would find another. Grabbing his shank Chris motioned by rubbing his belly then running a finger along his ear and they all knew, target stabbing, break him combat roles only and they all brushed hair meaning understood. Spreading out Chris put a hand on the skinheads shoulder and asked
"So is there any parties soon?" and smiled as Chris heard the boy tell him about the party and the young man remarked
"yeah we are doing one and if any girls are there well they had best not be wearing panties and I wonder is the girl who hangs on you, is she wearing any now?" and before Chris could do anything Richard shoved one of the colts starting a fight. As the brawl started Chris stuck the knife in his side and muttered
"I know you are FRF not skinhead so just die quietly okay asshole?" and as Chris looked he took off running before the teachers spotted him and his handiwork. Slowing around the corner with Rico hot on his heels he heard a voice yell
"Oh god that man is dead! Who killed him?" and no one answered as the colts and section two all ran to the gym. Panting Chris locked eyes and said
"Well shit the man is dead and I take it I am to blame so if you all want to kill me for it I understand" before pulling the knife he had and slammed the tip into the bleachers. As the others saw the look Rico said
"Why the fuck would we kill you because well we are all killers and that just proves we are skilled and hey you never got caught so check your six" and she helped him run only for the school to decide, although everyone in the group knew the government was involved, that the wound was from Chris trying to save the young man's life as his lung collapsed. Realizing it Chris laid against the wall and jokingly said
"Well damn the first aid sucked but oh well" before lighting a cigarette. Watching as the ember glowed when he blew before muttering
"well one day these will kill me if they aint got me yet" and Petra smiled as Mimi laid close to him. Watching as she took it Mimi said
"This belongs to me and boy I really wish you would quit smoking because they could kill you and I really don't want to lose you" and Chris just smiled before muttering, his voice as low as the Seminole wind he knew of and felt but couldn't remember where or when
"It's not that easy for me. I really wish it was believe me so I am doomed to be worthless" and Mimi slugged him before saying
'Bull shit now let's head to the gym because I know what we need to do" and he smiled knowing it would be a bad day for Pretty boy and Ponyboy smiled yelling
"Yo boss is it knife training or firearms? You know I am skilled in both methods" before Richard tossed him a stiletto knife and said quietly
"Game on and victory belongs to me" getting everyone calling him Zim. Watching as Ponyboy and Richard started to fight Nick jumped in and slashed Richard along the neck getting him smiling feeling the warmth just drip down his neck. Reacting on pure adrenaline Richard smashed him and knowing that Nick's right arm was all pins he laughed saying
"You still haven't learned your lesson eh? Well this ought to teach you and yes I know I am destroying what I already broke" before the arm was bent at an uncomfortable angle causing the pins to stick out of his arm dripping blood and glinting in the lights. As he fell screaming again Richard remarked calmly
"Your nickname is now Krilin so run chicken-shit RUN!" as Nick ran from the others so they wouldn't see him cry. After cleaning up the blood Chris locked eyes with each one of the students he had trained and said like a proud teacher
"It has been an honor and a privilege to see all but one of you lot make it through selection and contrary to popular belief this isn't just a game and it is life or death so upon graduation you will all join the military of your choosing or even become a PMC the call is yours" and they all saluted before Chris said smiling
"Let's see if you can pass one final test and it is this-there is a cell of enemies who really need to die out there and you are tasked with using the skills we taught you to find them and kill them. Guns are out of the question so its blades, hands and garrotes. Good luck" and they all nodded before heading out looking for the targets and Chris said, looking at mimi
"I get the feeling the hit I heard of on the radio will be coming toward us so you may want to pack up quickly" and she nodded before saying forlornly
"I really loved calling you my boyfriend and I doubt I will ever find one as cute as you are" and as they kissed passionately he said
"You will find someone and I am anything but good so you don't have to worry you will find someone better than me". As she smiled Chris looked and handed over the knife he had made for her. As Mimi grabbed the knife she saw it was a dagger, similar to a shortened rapier in the hand guard and a ladder and twist Damascus stiletto blade with an acid etch, and that brought a smile to her face.
As she smiled Chris said "I am glad you like it because I bladesmith in my spare time and figured I could try something new based off your last name" causing a smirk to make its way across her face. As the two started looking at the blade he had hand forged Mimi tucked it into her waist band with the scabbard and smiled before walking away looking cute. As the colts and angels all gathered in the gym and Chris looked at them all as every one of them stood at attention and he saluted all of them before saying, a smile bearing ill intent on his face,
"Well we all have had our time and now is your version of a final exam and it combines everything you learned in SERE and other training so the Angels will get the first crack and next the Colts will head off and try to raise hell all the while being hunted by me and my group of instructors" and Mimi walked in with Triela and Petra, before they all smiled saying
"Well the game is on so let's let the girls start run as the boys have to prep for their time and if you get caught doing illegal acts during the course of this event you will be disavowed understand?" and everyone hollered "SIR YES SIR" causing Chris to laugh saying
"Don't call me sir I work for a living". As they all started to move out Chris saw the look from Petra and sang
"You have me living in a ghost town, you just keep hanging around" and she nodded and said
"Days of gold is a better song but it's up to you" and the group all started to run and Chris just laughed as the group was all rounded up one by one and Pony boy looked and said
"What unit are you in so we can all join that one?" and Jean, who had just walked in as Chris had not answered his phone, retorted
"The folgore brigade and he is the CO but due to issues we have decided to make it a youth outfit so do you all want to join?" and they all hollered out
"SIR YES SIR!" and Chris remarked
"The unit has a small walled villa about 35 minutes into the country and you all will train there and even though I am SWA we are an elite counter-terror and special operations unit and we take our orders from the president and the head of the ministry of defense but even that can be transferred to the president so we take orders from ourselves" and then saluted as the group snapped a roman salute. As Mimi watched Chris take command of a military unit, she couldn't help but feel the love he had for her was real and not something he had made for the operation and Triela said, her voice a whisper
"He really likes you but doesn't know if you like him back because you are a human and well he isn't and to be quite frank the relationship would be hard because Petra is madly in love with him but she says you are his out of agency girlfriend for in case anything goes wrong. I personally think he is more of your brother from the way he cares but that's up to you to now go kiss the boy". After the worlds left Triela's lips Mimi planted a gentle kiss and walked up to Chris and held him kissing passionately, and Petra not to be out done kissed him before Breanna blushed hollering
"As the XO I say we leave the boss alone with his girls and head out toward our new home" and as they all left Chris, Richard, Petra and Triela all formed a diamond on Mimi but the formation was broken up as a car bomb exploded covering them in shrapnel. Seeing Mimi was okay Chris sent the others to get her to safety and stood with her dagger and his before hacking away at the enemies who were close, only stopping when they opened fire with a MG4 machine gun and MX4 and M12 submachine guns. Running with the asphalt being turned to shreds around him Chris lobbed a M26A2 fragmentation grenade and jumped in his Ferrari slamming the pedal down to get off the X. Pulling into the villa he owned, even though the government had classified his units existence making them known as "I fantasmi" or as he preferred to be known, "fulmini del diavolo" and they all saw the patches that they could Velcro onto the uniforms being the only distinguishing marks that they were a military unit and they were all glad that was the case. Looking at Chris as he walked in they all saluted and said
"Boss we swear allegiance to you and to each other and will go to hell to protect each other" not knowing the prophetic words they had all just spoken.
