Chapter 16

Lenalee sighed as she made her way to school. Today was going to be one of the most stressful days of her life. After school, the team is supposed to meet Allen...that was also forcing her to tell who she really is. She sighed again. It was great that Allen had come to get her but it was also bad because she wasn't ready to go. She had seen so much in this dimension that interested her, that she had grown attached to, but the one thing that she really liked was her relationship with Wally. Since she had first met him he had always tried to get her to chuckle, which she did. He was a sweetie in her eyes and she was grateful for that. The one thing that bothers her though is how he'll react when she tells him everything...she was scared.

"Yo, Lena why are you just standing there," a girls voice yelled from behind her. Lenalee turned around and smiled when she saw her friend. An light skinned African American girl with light brown hair in a small fro, an silver eyebrow piercing above her left eye. She had on black eye-shadow, mascara, eye-liner, lip-gloss, a striped tank with a red cardigan, khaki pants, and black baby flats. The girl ran up to her with a grin on her face.

"Oh, hi Rene," she greeted. Rene grinned and put an arm around her friends shoulder. Lenalee and Rene have been friends since the year before when she first showed up. She hadn't known what to do in a high school setting and didn't really have anyone to help her on the first day. Rene, being an open and spunky girl introduced herself to the girl and even gave her a tour or the school. After about a a day or so the two girls became fast friends which is something that Dinah suggested she have; a normal friend outside of the hero world. This was something she desperately needed though; a close friend who could help her out when she needs it, and for that she was grateful.

"Sooooo," Rene smirked, "How's it going with your beau," she asked with a mischievous glint in her eye.

Lenalee's cheeks flared and she stuttered. "W-What do you mean by that?"

"Oh nothing, I was just hoping you would give me some juicy details on how far you two have gotten."

If it was possible to blush anymore than she would. Lenalee's face was beet red and her face started to get hot. She waved her hands back and forth in embarrassment while her friend was laughing.

"Hahahahaha calm down Lena, I was just joking. I mean you guys have been together for how long now, almost a whole month? I wouldn't expect you two to get that far."

Lenalee pouted and lightly shoved Rene. "That was still uncalled for though."

"I said I was joking. What? Do you want me to get you a yogurt as an apology...wait-"

Lenalee grinned. "Yeah, I would like that. Thank you Rene," she said with a smirk as she walked off, her friend right behind her.

"Hold on! I didn't mean today, I meant later! Lena!" The girl laughed as the two walked down through the doors of the school. The halls were already bustling with teachers and students headed for their classes.

Lenalee's first class was Algebra which she was grateful for. English was nice, so was Art, but History and Biology were a little iffy for her. She was lucky though, Rene was in those last two classes of hers and was very helpful when she didn't understand anything. There was also another thing that bothered her about being here...

"H-Hey, Lenalee! How's it going," a males voiced shouted from behind. Lenalee turned around and saw a tall boy with shaggy brown hair and glasses approaching them. Ruben Young, a causcasian boy who had a small (huge) obsession with Lenalee, and was very weird. At first it seemed like the boy had a crush on her...some of the boys in her grade and lower did, but after awhile it had turned into something much worse than a simple crush. (It was not love either).

"H-Hey Rubin...what's up," Rene said nervously. Rubin shrugged while staring at Lenalee.

"Oh nothing much. I-I just wanted to talk if that was okay...um I mean we have our first class together so we should walk there...together," he stuttered out with a blush on his face. This would have been cute if it weren't for the fact that he was sweating too.

'Ew," Rene thought as she stared at his shirt starting to get wet. She nudged Lenalee who looked at her in confusion.

"Lets ditch him," she whispered.

"What? But that's not very nice," Lenalee blanched/whispered.

Rene rolled her eyes. "So what, we've done it before and today is no different."

Unbeknownst to the both of them Rubin had slightly heard what the two were saying, and honestly he thought it was rude. "Um, hey guys," the two girls turned to look at him, "Class is about to start...don't you think we should go now," he said pointing at his wrist watch.

Rene took out her phone and looked at the time. Her eyes widened and she started to shake. "Oh crap! Fitzgerald is going to eat me alive again if I'm late," she said in panic. She grabbed Lenalee's wrist and began to drag her down the hallway, completely ignoring her friends please of letting her go, all while leaving Rubin behind. He sighed and began to walk to class behind them.

~Break~

Lenalee's first class had gone on without issue, but she had felt a feeling of unhappiness come over her. She was still thinking about what Allen had told her the other day, and honestly it bothered her. She felt conflicted between going home or deciding to stay here with her mentor, her friends...and Wally.

She blushed. Wally, she couldn't imagine being with any other guy besides her lovable red-head, and she wasn't planning on it. As she continued to think about how she was going to tell her friends about her issue, Rubin had been staring at her. Now a thing about Rubin is that he wasn't really one for interacting with the opposite gender. He was more of a loner and a self-proclaimed introvert. He didn't do friendly relations with anyone, that is until the day he met Lenalee.

It was love at first sight when he saw her. If it was possible he could have sworn he saw hearts and little flowers around her. The problem is that he's socially awkward along with his loner like behavior; he didn't have the guts to ask her out and even if he did he wouldn't have a chance. Apparently his love interest is already in a relationship with someone or so he heard.

His hopes were utterly dashed that day.

!

"So, I was thinking," Rene began.

"What are you thinking," Lenalee asked.

"I was thinking about talking to Rubin, you know like as friends," Rene said as she picked her books out of her locker.

Lenalee gaped slightly then smirked. "And why is that, is there any particular reason why?"

Rene blushed slightly. "N-No, I just think that I should be nicer to him you know," she sighed, " I heard a rumor about him, that his dad is abusive. I don't know if it's true or not."

Lenalee frowned. "His father abuses him, where did you here that?"

"Um, you see, on my way to second period I over heard these two guys talking," she said as she closed her locker, "supposedly one of them lives across the street from him, and they said that they heard yelling. The guy also said that he heard something shattering too."

Lenalee could only stare at her friend in shock and sadness. She turned and looked down at the floor as memories began to flow into her head. She could remember scientists, men, holding her down, prodding her body with their needles and 'special tools'. The feeling of their hands touching her as she screamed for them to stop. She shook her head and bent down to pick up her bag.

"...I think...that Rubin is the way that he is because of how he's been treated. He's afraid that he'll get hurt again if he lets someone get close to him. You and certain others have treated as if he was something to poke and prod," Lenalee clarified in a serious tone. Rene looked at her friend and frowned in sadness.

"I know...and I shouldn't have treated him like I did this morning," she said in shame. Lenalee nodded.

"Your right, and I think you owe him a big apology too," she said as she pointed behind her friend. Rene turned around to look and saw Rubin at his locker putting his books away. She stared at him for awhile then straightened herself and walked over to him.

Lenalee stood and watched the two talk. She saw Rene express her apology and tell him that she is sorry for the way she has treated him. Rubin stuttered back with an 'it's okay' and a small blush on his face. The two smiled at one another and shook hands. Lenalee smiled at the display of friendship, then chuckled when Rubin accidentally tripped on his own feet and dropped his books. Rene bent down to help him pick them up while Rubin told her that it was okay.

"I think that is the start of a beautiful relationship," she said as she saw the two accidentally touch one another then turned away with red cheeks. 'How cute,' she thought.

At Mount Justice~

"I still think that you should have asked him first," Robin said.

"Dude, he said that I could and that automatically allows me to go for it," Wally declared as he munched on a granola bar.

Robin sighed. "I highly doubt that Rai would let anyone, including you, see his limited edition Dominion ball cap. The guy is obsessed with that thing."

"But it's true," Wally said as he took the last bite of his granola bar.

"What's true," a female voice said. The boys turned and saw Artemis, M'gann, and Superboy coming into the kitchen.

"Kid-thief over here thinks Raider let him see his favorite hat, but knowing my friend better than him, I know he didn't."

Wally scoffed. "Yeah, well your mischievous."

"What does that have to do with anything," Robin argued. Wally smirked at the younger teen.

"You do know that Rai has as much on me as he has on you. Don't you remember the incident of '08?" Robin gaped and turned way in embarrassment.

"What happened in '08," Artemis asked curiously.

Wally chuckled evilly. "Well-."

"They don't need to know," Robin said in anger and embarrassment. Wally burst out laughing and slung an arm over his friends shoulders.

"I'm only joking with you, and this is kind of like revenge for blurting 'things' out to Lenalee," He said as he let go of the younger boy. Robin had a scowl on his face and punched Wally in his side.

"I will get you back, I'll make sure of it," he said with a smirk. The red-head shivered when he saw the evil smile. Artemis smirked while the other two looked confused. Aqualad sighed and shook his head.

Recognize Tori

Wally perked up when he heard the computer announce his girlfriends arrival and ran straight for the zeta tubes. The others stared at the the dust cloud that the teen had kicked up.

"...he's certainly eager," Robin said as he poked at the dust cloud.

"What do you expect. He's hopelessly in love with Lenalee. It's so sweet that I feel sick just watching them get all lovey dovey," Artemis commented.

"Says the pot calling the kettle black," Robin teased. Artemis blushed.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about," she said as she tried to turn away.

M'gann chuckled. "I think it's cute."

"I'm not cute,"Artemis screeched.

"Don't say that, I think you're plenty cute."Artemis turned around and saw Raider approaching them with a small smile on his face. He still looked kind of pale but much better than he did a couple of days ago.

Artemis' face turned beet red when she heard Raider call her cute. She speed walked out of the kitchen and towards the zeta tubes. The male in question stood there with a confused look on his face then smiled.

"What just happened," Superboy asked in confusion. Aqualad walked up to him and gave his shoulder a small pat.

"It would be best if you just leave the matter alone. Raider does things that confuse us all." That only confused him more as they all made their way towards the zeta.

Lenalee walked out of the zeta with a new air around her. She felt lighter than she did when she went to school this morning, much more energetic. All she had been thinking about for the past couple of days is how she was going to tell everyone about her life, and how she was from a completely different dimension; a different world. It sounded terrifying yes, but after thinking about she had a feeling that it wasn't going to be that bad...she hoped.

"Lena," a voiced shouted. She smiled as she saw Wally jog up to her with a grin on his face.

"Hey Wally," she said with a smile. She walked up to him and gave him a peck in his lips. He returned the kiss with a peck behind her ear, which she blushed at.

"W-Wally, you know how I feel about you doing that."

Wally smirked and gave her a peck on her cheek. "I know but I can't help it, you're so vulnerable, and very cute. Did BC buy you new make up?"

Lenalee nodded. "Yeah, she thought that something new would make me look a little more different when I'm out doing hero work. I still don't see the appeal though."

"It's appealing to me," Wally muttered. Lenalee rolled her eyes and laced her fingers into his.

"Of course it is."

"Everything that has to do with your girlfriend is appealing to you Baywatch," Artemis said. The two turned around and saw her walking towards them.

Wally frowned. "I don't want to hear that from you harpy. You have no room to talk."

"Wally, what did I tell you," Lenalee frowned at him as she squeezed his hand. He flinched and pouted.

"But baaaaaabe~ she's being mean to me," he whined. Artemis rolled her eyes. 'So childish', she thought.

"Dude, you are so childish," Raider said as he approached them. He had a grin on his face as he looked at the three.

"How are you doing Raider? Are you feeling any better," Lenalee asked with concern.

Raider nodded his head. "Other than small relapses from my attack, I feel good."

Lenalee smiled. "That's good." The other three that were in the kitchen walked into the room. Everyone greeted each other and mostly talked about their training and daily duties.

Recognize Batman 02, Crow 03, Black Canary (unsure what hers is)

Authorize Guest- Allen

"Whose Allen," Raider asked.

"I have no clue, maybe it's a new teammate," Robin said as he saw the three heroes and new guy approaching them.

"I don't think so," Wally began, "Who would use their real name as their hero name...nevermind," he said as he saw Artemis glare at him.

"Nice going 'Baywatch'," Raider smirked. He gave a pointed look at the blonde girl when he said the last word.

"Team I would like to introduce you to someone," Canary said, "His name is Allen Walker and he is a...friend of Lenalees. Lenalee would you like to introduce him to the team?" She nodded her head slightly and turned to the team.

"Um, everyone this is Allen Walker...he's a friend of mine..." The team stared at her than turned to look at the new guy. He had white hair which was pretty weird, a red pentacle above his left eye that ran down to the bottom of it, a long black coat with gray in certain spots, a pair of white gloves, dark brown boots, and a silver pin on the left side of his jacket.

Allen looked to each of the teens and smiled. "Hi, it's nice to meet you all."

"He will be joining the team temporarily, but for the mean time show him around," Crow said then turned to her brother.

"The three of us have business to attend to but will be back later," Batman said as he walked towards the zeta. The two League women watched as he left through the zeta then turned back to the teens.

"Lenalee," the girl turned towards her mentor, "I think you also have something to say to the team as well." She nodded and turned towards them. Black Canary gave the girl a small pat on the back and walked to the zeta with Crow behind her. It was suddenly quiet after the two women were gone.

Lenalee took a deep breath and spoke. "...Um guys, t-there's something that I've been meaning to tell you all for quite awhile now...I-I'm," she gulped slightly, "...I'm from a different dimension!"

The team gaped at Lenalee in shock. "Your what?!" Apparently it was Wally that yelled.

She flinched at his tone. "I'm sorry for not telling any of you. I never meant to hide any of this from any of you, please believe me."

"But you still hid it from us though. I mean why didn't you say anything sooner...why didn't you tell me sooner," Wally said with a hurt look on his face.

"Wally I-" He cut her off.

"I don't wanna hear it," he said as he turned away from her.

"Lenalee, why didn't you tell us," Robin asked her with a stern look on his face.

"I-I didn't want any of you to think differently of me. I just wanted to go about being apart of something, like this team, without any worries. Without having to worry about my normal worries and strife for awhile."

"And let me guess, your friend here came to take you back home right," Wally said in anger. He glared over at Allen who didn't flinch.

The white-haired male nodded his head. "Yes, I was sent here by her brother to bring her back home." Lenalee flinched at the word 'home'. She didn't want to think about home right now.

"If that's the case, then you should just go back home then," Raider said as he glared at the girl.

"Raider that's uncalled for," Aqualad reprimanded.

"Why? She hid something, you know that we started this team because the league were keeping things from us. I thought we were all going to start this team fresh."

It was quiet. No one was saying a word which made the tension in the air worse. Wally was glaring at both Allen and Lenalee. Robin and Raider were shaking their heads. Artemis was glaring at Wally and the other two were just standing there. Nothing seemed to be going well.

"From what that man and those two women had told me, you all seemed to be pretty nice, but if this is how you treat a friend that I guess I was solely mistaken for taking their word for it," Allen said as he glared at everyone.

"Lenalee...are you okay," M'gann finally spoke up as she stared at her friend with concern. The girl was shaking and M'gann could feel a wave of emotions flowing off of her. It felt like she was going to...oh no.

M'gann flew over to her friend and hugged her as she began to cry. Artemis walked over to the two and and looked at her friend. "Come on Lenalee," she said as she and M'gann lead her out of the common room and towards the rooms.

"And now she's crying," Raider frowned as he stared at the three girls leave. Okay, no he felt bad for saying what he said, but still...

"I need to go see how she's doing," Allen said as he sighed, "I'm also to blame for her tears." He began to walk to the back but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw the dark skinned teen shake his head.

"I believe that we should leave her be. I do not think it wise to confront her right now," Aqualad said as he took his hand off of Allen. He turned to look at Wally who looked crestfallen. He sighed and walked up to him.

"I-I didn't mean to make her cry, I was just upset that she had hidden something from me," Wally said dejectedly. He turned to look at where the girls left to and sighed. He would try to apologize later.

"I think she wanted to tell us but didn't know how to bring up...now I feel despicable heavy on the des," Robin muttered sadly.

"We can all apologize later but for now I suggest we move on to what we usually do," Aqualad suggested.

"I second that," Robin and Raider said in unison. Superboy, who had been quiet the whole time, grunted in agreement. The boys began to walk away towards the training circle. Allen and Wally had lagged behind them.

"Hey, I have a question to ask you," Allen said. Wally looked at him with a scowl.

"And that would be?"

"Are you and Lenalee together, cause you sounded more upset than the others."

"Yeah, so."

Allen's neutral face turned into a glare. "If you ever make her cry again, I will hurt you," he said venomously.

Wally blanched. "Would do you mean by that, of course I'm not going to make her cry again. Who do you take me for?"

"I take you for someone who should care for his lover and treat her right, not make her cry," Allen scowled at the red-head.

Wally scoffed. "Who are you to tell me how I should treat Lenalee? I treat her just fine."

Allen was silent for awhile. He contemplated whether or not he should tell the red-head off some more, but decided against it. He sighed and walked towards the training circle then stopped a foot away from Wally and turned to look at him.

"I've known Lenalee for quite a long time and all I've seen is her giving to others. I honestly think that she's wasted on you...she's been through too much already," Allen said as he continued to walk again.

"W-What the heck? What does he mean by 'he's known her longer'. What does he mean she's gone through a lot..." Wally frowned as he stared at the white haired males back. He glared at it and walked.

~Break~

"Sir, we have received reports of an unknown power source coming from sector 2814," a random male said.

"...What are it's readings," another male asked. The previous male turned to look at the light up screen before him. He gasped when the readings finally popped up.

"S-Sir, it says that the power source belongs to one of ours," the male said nervously.

The other male hummed in thought. "...It seems that we will be making a trip."

"T-To where sir?"

The man chuckled. "To earth."
