~Chapter 23~~
"How long has he been like that," Black Canary asked as she stared at the hand-cuffed teen laying on a tan cot. She frowned apprehensively at the look of despair and agony with a hint of insanity on his face.
"About 5 hours," Batman answered, eyes narrowed behind his cowl as he stared at teen with a scrutinizing gaze. It was when he had arrived only just a few moments ago to check on the boy when he saw the look on his face. Just the look itself sent a familiar feeling up the adults spines as they looked at him. He had the same look as those who were imprisoned in Arkham. It was not a pretty sight to behold at all.
"The boy must've had a mental break down while we were away. I can feel that his mind is slowly deteriorating, even as we speak," J'onn relayed, eyes emitting an orange glow.
Batman furrowed behind his cowl at the martians words. "What do you mean his mind is slowly deteriorating?"
"It is just as I said. Young Jakan's mind is fading away into nothing so long as he stays the way he is now. I fear that he may stay this way if we keep him imprisoned here. It will only make things worse."
Canary sighed. "Where do you suppose we take him then? There are no other known places where he can stay in league custody."
"I might know of a place," a voice spoke making the three leaguers turn there attention to the teen. Jakan had gotten up from his cot and walked over to where the three were standing outside of his cell. An insane smile was now adorned on his face and his dark hair was wild and disarray. His clothes were wrinkled and his shoes were next to his makeshift bed. His time spent in this cell had majorly screwed with his mind and the three heroes could see that, or in J'onn's case, feel that.
"You are not leaving this cell," Batman grounded out gruffly as he glared at Jakan. The teen did not so much as flinch at the man's glare but chuckled.
"Ha I can't really do that now can I," he lifted his cuffed hands and shook, "I'm a little tied up remember. I couldn't leave even if I tried."
"You are lying. Your powers could very well break through those cuffs," J'onn replied. Canaries eyes widened at the martians words. The kid had on inhibitor cuffs yet he could still break through them? How powerful is he?
"Okay so I can get out but that doesn't mean that I want to."
"Why is that," Batman questioned.
Jakan smirked and waved his hands back and forth between the three of them. "I don't want to get my butt beat by three Leaguers. It's a waste of time and energy trying to fight back." There was also the fact that they could find out more about his powers.
"So you think fighting us would slow you down and prohibit you from escaping," Canary deduced.
Jakan nodded.
"There's something else that has been bothering me," Batman began catching everyone's attention, "Why are you after Tori?"
"...I'm not really obligated to answer that, Batman," the teen spat out the last word in a cold and icy tone. His eyes narrowed into slits as he stared at the male.
"You're not obligated to tell us or you won't tell us?"
"Both. I don't have to say squat to you know it all's. My business is my business." Jakan and Batman glared at one another before the former stepped back from the see through door and walked back over to his cot. The latter growled lowly under his breath and turned to walk away, with the other two staring at his back in confusion.
"He's a piece of work," they heard Jakan mutter under his breath.
"I believe it best that we leave the boy for now." Canary nodded in agreement.
"That sounds good. We can pick up on this matter later." The two league members gave the teen one last look before leaving.
It was quiet. The hallway outside of his cell was eerily silent like his mind right now. The voice that had spoken to him a few days ago was definitely his mother, Camellia. Jakan thought he would never hear her voice again but he did, and he was more than happy for it.
"I wish to hear your voice again mother. Please let me hear your voice again," his voice called out, no louder than a whisper as stared up at the clear ceiling. Dark blue eyes glistened over with unshed tears as he continued to stare up. His mind drifted back on what she told him, something about him not really being a Noah. He pretty much knew that already, but...
"She told me that I'm a 'Gyphen', whatever that's supposed to mean." He believed her since she was his mother but the stuff about helping the Justice League's band of sidekicks was just something he couldn't get with. They had had way to many bad encounters with each other and he knew that they knew he had teamed up with all of their villains. There was no way he could join them.
"It's not too late son. You can still change sides and do what you were destined to do, for the greater good," Camellia's voice assured him. Her voice was not too loud but not too quiet either. He could hear her sweet voice flow into his ears like a beautiful melody.
"Mother, where are you? I know you were captured by the Millennium Earl all those years ago, then you were thrown into a dark abyss, but you must have found some way to escape."
"... I-I can not tell you that."
Jakan sat up on his cot, eyes bulging from his face in frustration and anger. "Why not?! I have a right to know where my own mother was exiled to?!"
A soft sigh echoed through his mind calming him down just a bit. "Honey, if you knew where I was at this very second you would try to find me, and the way your mind is now... I would not recommend that you do that."
Jakan stared out in front of him in disbelief. How could she say that to him? His mind was perfectly fine, in fact he hasn't heard that other voice speak since he's been here. It was like whatever was controlling his mind before was gone now: it ceased to exist.
"Listen, Jakan, I wanted to tell you something before but you were indisposed and unavailable. Now I feel like it is the right time to convey this message to you."
"I'm listening."
"...About 16 to 17 years ago, a man approached me, on Gyphtyn soil outside of my home. His name was Nathaniel. At first I was confused as to why an outsider would be loitering around, but I knew for a fact that he was not human. He had the same dark complexion that you have now and his eyes were about the same shade as yours." Camelia continued telling of how the man asked where he was and how he got there. She did not relay that info until she was fully sure that he was not a threat to her homeland, then, she told him. She told him of the planets people and their land. She told him of how the planet was as cold as the Arctic on Earth, all year round. The biggest thing she told him though was that she came from a royal family. From the tight tone in her voice Jakan could tell that his mother had a personal vendetta against her royal title. For that he did not know why, but she was sure to tell him later on.
"After about a month or two my brother, F'ai found out about me harboring an outsider in my quarters. He was mad at first, he practically spit out ice when he yelled at the two of us, but he came to find out that my friend was not as bad as he had thought. It took him a whole month for him to completely trust him though," Camellia chuckled at the memory. She ceased her chuckles then sighed. "I had grown rather fond of that man and as time went on – as we spent more and more time together – I fell in love with him..."
"There's more isn't there?"
"Yes there is...Soon after we got together I decided to introduce Nathan to my family. He was skeptical at first of me wanting to bring him to meet my family, but he could not sway my decision. I wanted my parents and siblings to approve of my relationship with him, so that we could be together, forever." The more and more Jakan listened the less he did not understand. Why was this Nathan guy so important...wait?
"You said that Nathan showed up around 16 to 17 years ago. Does that mean that he's my-" Jakan paused. He didn't want to finish what he was going to say because he wanted what he was thinking to not be true.
"Yes, Nathan is your father," Camellia finished for him.
He knew it. From the way she spoke of his appearance to the tiny details of his personality, he knew that the man was his father.
His true father. A hidden member of the Noah family that the Millennium Earl did not think to tell him of.
"All this time, back then I had thought that I was born a human with strange powers and discolored skin, but now come to find out that I'm not human at all. I'm half Gyphen half Noah!...Why? Why didn't you tell me," Jakan bellowed in anger.
Camellia said nothing, for a good few minutes actually, making Jakan think that her presence had disappeared again. The teen pulled his knees up to his chest and laid his forehead against them. Tears fell from his eyes slowly making their way down his face and onto the fabric of his jeans.
Why would she tell him something like that all of a sudden? Why? It would've been better if she had told him nothing at all, then maybe be wouldn't be so torn up inside, well more torn up inside. His time with the Noah family had truly messed his mind up. He wasn't like he used to be and he doubted that he would ever be that way again, but-
"Son, truly I am sorry for hurting you. I never meant to bring this up with you until you were ready for me to tell you about my past, your past, but it had to be done. My time grows short as I continue to remain where I am, but I took advantage of it to talk to you. I wanted to see how you were fairing...but-"
"Mother, there's no need for you to apologize to me," Jakan replied, lifting his head up from his knees. His dark eyes were downcast with tears still leaking from them. He let out a shaky breath and closed his eyes. "I'm still not 100% , as you can tell from my sudden outburst. Just, give me some time to think about all of this, okay? I need to calm down." He needed to stay calm or else there would be no way to quell his anger.
"I-I see, then I will try to speak with you later...before I go there is one last thing I would like to share with you. If you would like to listen that is."
"Whatever." Camellia took that as an okay.
"The girl you are after, Lenalee, she was sent here through a worm hole in time and space by an unknown force. Do you know why?"
Jakan shook his head. "No, nothing more was told to me other than her being here in this world."
"Jakan, I was the one that brought her here."
"What?" How was that possible? He didn't even have that much power to get here. The moment he arrived he had fallen out on a street somewhere from shadow reduction. Dimensional travel depleted at least 50 to 60% percent of his powers.
" I know it may sound impossible but this is the truth. I sent her here in hopes of saving not only my home planet, but you as well. I didn't want you to become lost, like your father."
"...My father huh." He didn't give it much thought since there was so little to go on, but he had a feeling there was still a lot more his mother wasn't telling.
His father being of the Noah family, how he arrived on his mothers home world, and his birth were all things she still had not relayed to him. But, she would tell him, soon.
Sooner than he might he think.
September 26
6:00 A.M.
Still aboard the U'tai (ship), the team along with Crow and Jasmin awaited their arrival on Gyphtyn. It wasn't only moments ago that the captain of the ship announced that they were 3 minutes away from their destination. Pretty much everyone was excited to see what this new planet was like, except maybe one person.
"Come on mom, you know as well as I do that there's nothing remotely wrong with this planet. Da - the prince and B'ana said it themselves that we would be safe," Raider said trying to reassure his mother. The masked woman shook her head.
"Just because he said it doesn't mean that I'm going to believe it," Crow spouted. Raider sighed at his mothers stubbornness. His friends always wondered where he got it from, well here she was sitting right next to him.
Jasmin, who had been sitting on the floor of their very white room, looked up at her mother and pouted. "Why are you being mean mommy? Daddy didn't do anything wrong." Crow and Raider stiffened up. If she only knew.
Crow put a hand to her face, slowly moving it up past her brow to her ebony colored hair. She was irritated and tired. Mostly tired. She didn't get that much sleep last night. She can thank the team and her niece for that. They were up late last night talking and joking with one another. Usually she could sleep while the world around her was loud, but since seeing Christopher again sleep wasn't just didn't come to her. Images of the past buzzed through her mind when she slept, making it pretty hard to get some shut-eye.
"Mom," Raider called grabbing his mothers attention. "We should probably head back to the throne room now. We don't want to get left behind when the ship lands."
Crow nodded and stood up from the large white queen sized bed. "I agree. Come one Jasmin lets go." The little five year grinned up at her mother and got up from the floor. She grabbed her mothers hand and grasped it. "Son, be sure to inform the team."
Raider gave his mother a mock salute as he moved to open the door. "Yes ma'am." He stepped outside the door and walked to the room across from them, which was the girls room. Once there he knocked.
"Hey guys it's me," he called out. He heard footsteps approaching the door and took a step back. The door slid open revealing Artemis, Lenalee, M'gann and his cousin B'ana. He was about to say something but paused when he saw what they were wearing. They all (except for B'ana. She had on her outfit from when they first met her) had on white parka's that went down to their knees, a pair of white tights underneath and white knee length boots with fur around the top of the boot. Lenalee had her dark boots on instead of the white boots just in case they were needed. Their hair wasn't any different aside from the white bird like accessories pinned on the side of their heads. There were different light blue swirl designs on the boots that curved and weaved through each other creating something-alien- if he wanted to to put it that way. Over all they looked nice.
Radier smirked when he saw his girlfriends expression and was about to open his mouth but stopped at her glare. "Don't even think about it," she warned as she stepped out of the room.
"What? I wasn't going to say anything." Artemis' glare deepened. "...Okay, I admit I was going to say something, but it wasn't like I was going to say anything bad about how you look."
Lenalee rolled her eyes as she watched the couple begin to squabble back and forth. "I hate to admit this but watching those two always makes me feel better about my relationship problems with Wally."
"How so," M'gann asked curiously.
"I got used to Wally complimenting me after the first three dates we had. Though they're constant and sometimes really annoying, I still love to be complimented for how I look, when it's necessary." Lenalee smiled coyly making the other two girls giggle.
B'ana stopped her giggled and sighed as she moved her light green eyes over to the couple. "A relationship huh," she thought. She looked down at the palm of her hand then turned it around. There on her ring finger was a small silver ring with a small white diamond on it in the shape of a dove. She scowled at it and clenched her other hand around it tightly.
"B'ana are you coming," Lenalee asked, her amethyst eyes hinted with a tinge of worry as she looked at he younger girl. The other three had already gone off to where the others were staying, though Lenalee stayed behind when she saw that her new friends was not following.
The Gyphen princess nodded her head, hands un-clenched and head up-lifted. She gave Lenalee a small smile. "Yes, just needed to collect myself. I haven't been home in over a year now," she chuckled.
"A year," Lenalee gasped in shock. She was away from her home for that long?!
B'ana chuckled again. "Yes a year, but it is at least a week or so for Earth."
Lenalee blinked. "Amazing." B'ana shrugged.
"I suppose so but having a long span of time just to go from place to place is quite unnerving, even for me, and I love to travel."
The girl continued to chat as they walked to the other end of the hall where the team, Crow and Jasmin were standing. It looked like they were all chatting as well.
Wally sped up to Lenalee and threw his arm around her. "Why, don't you look exceptionally beautiful today babe," he smirked as his eyes moved from her face to her legs. He yelped when a hand swatted the back of his head. "Ow!" He moved his arm from around her so his he could rub his head. He pouted at her. Lenalee shook her head and walked over to where B'ana was standing.
"Man, I'm still wondering how on earth you managed to get together with Lenalee. I mean you say all the wrong things, well, do the wrong things," Robin cackled. It was his turn to get smacked upside the head. He winced in pain, turning around to see who had hit him. He gulped when he saw Crow glaring at him.
"If you have nothing kind to say then keep your mouth shut." Robin nodded.
"Yes ma'am." He scowled when he heard chuckling coming from Raider and Wally. His face turned red when he saw B'ana doing the same with Artemis.
How embarrassing.
"Alright, that is enough," Kaldur reprimanded as he looked at his team. "Since we are all together than I suggest we make our way to the throne room. The prince insisted that we be there in the next 10 to 15 minutes."
"Before we do can I ask why we have to wear these outfits again," Connor grimaced as he looked down at himself. He said this time and time again that he was not a fan of tights or the like, even if they came with cool white boots.
The other males winced at his remark and looked down at their attire too. They had on something similar to what the girls had on aside from the extra fur on the parka and boots. It looked more girly than manly, and Christopher said these were the male ones.
"It's really cold on Gyphtyn so everyone is required to wear these types of clothes," B'ana answered.
"If that's the case then why do you get to wear that," Artemis questioned as she looked at the girls thin white robes skeptically. The princess smiled nervously.
"Yeah, um you see the thing is that I'm required to wear this. Gyphen Royals must wear what is ordered for us to wear. No exceptions." At her own words she moved her right hand over to her left, touching her ring lightly.
Robin nodded in understanding. "I see, so who was the guy that made that rule?"
"...My grandfather," B'ana spat out with a frown. No one asked anything else after that. They could clearly see that she was not all too happy, but it didn't seem like she was upset about the clothes rule.
It was about something else entirely.
6:58 A.M.
Everyone had finally made it to the throne room. They did make some pit stops along the way but other than that they were ready to see Gyphtyn. Jasmin was especially excited to see the U'top's (Gardens) that her father spoke tons about since they got the ship. She loved flowers a lot and she showed it by how big her garden was at home. Alfred supervised her of course but everything else was all her. Her mom made a joke of it saying that she had such a green thumb that plants were springing up in the mansion, which they were because she brought so many inside.
Crow on the other hand was still slightly wary of stepping foot on a foreign planet. She never went on off world trips unless her brother forced her to and boy does he force her. He literally has to handcuff her to his wrist so that she wouldn't have anywhere to run. After they get back she would ignore him and who ever else agreed with the handcuff idea. Right now she was tempted to saying 'screw this I'm outta here' but her motherly instincts were telling her to stay with her kids and the team. Her brother put her in charge of supervision after all.
Aside from the woman's mental banter, everyone stood awaiting his 'royal highness' to show up. They had arrived in the throne room hoping that he would be in there waiting for them, but when they did show up they saw that he was no where to be found. The only ones in the room were four of the royal guards standing at attention when they saw B'ana coming in. That was 5 minutes ago.
"Wonder where Christopher is," Robin said aloud voicing everyone's thoughts.
"I hope nothing happened," Lenalee spoke worry.
"Knowing my uncle he'll be here in the next 2 to 3 minutes." B'ana sighed, looking down at her ring again. Robin caught her staring down at her hand and stepped next to her making her flinch slightly. A blush flushed across her pale cheeks as she felt him move closer to look at her ring.
"That's a pretty nice ring," he said as he got a closer look. At his word Lenalee and Artemis turned to see what he was looking at.
"So pretty," Lenalee stared in awe at the ring.
"Where did you get that? Wait let me guess, your grandfather," Artemis snickered causing B'ana to chuckle just a bit. She shook her head.
"No, my fia- friend back home gave it to me," B'ana replied nervoulsy. She was so close to saying 'fiance' but caught herself. She had mentioned the first day they had all arrived on the ship that she had a choice whether to be wed or not. It was a lie. Her father had ordered her straight out not to break off her engagement.
It looked like Lenalee and Artemis did not catch the change in B'ana's tone when she said the word 'friend', but Robin managed to hear it. The princess was hiding something, it was not his place to pry though. She would tell them when she was ready.
"That's cool. So, does the ring represent anything," Robin asked changing the subject.
"Oh, um yes it does," B'ana began looking grateful that he wasn't going to ask about her little slip up. She moved her left hand further out so the three could see her ring clearly in the light. "The J'uva or what you earthlings call the dove represents a new beginning. On Gyphen the dove signifies that a great change will come for my people and that bad times will soon be washed away. It also signifies marriage which is huge deal for the kingdom..."
"What's wrong?"
"N-nothing, I was just thinking about my mother. At one time she had to wear a ring similar to this one when she was engaged to my father. I guess I can see now what she meant when she said that marriage started a new beginning," B'ana smiled, "I was young and naive back then."
Artemis smiled and shrugged. "Weren't we all."
"Maybe some more than others," Robin snickered, ducking his head when he saw Artemis' arm swing out. "I can see now why Wally calls you a harpy." The blonde growled and was about to try and hit him again when Lenalee caught her by the arm, pulling her away from Robin before she tried anything else.
"Alright guys, please no violence," Lenalee scolded as she held Artemis back by her arm. "We're here to help not to argue or make fun over stupid stuff. That goes for you too Robin." She gave the teen a scolding glare making him slump down a bit. Said teen's face flushed when he heard a giggle coming from the girl standing next to him. He did have to admit though that her laugh sounded nice-
"Hahahaha you guys are so funny, oh man it's making my sides hurt," B'ana giggled out moving one of her hands to cover her mouth. Her eyes were semi-closed, her mouth was halfway open as rounds of giggles continued to flow from her lips, and her light green eyes shined brightly like two small emeralds sparkling in the light.
-she looked really pretty when she laughed too," Robin thought, his masked covered eyes watching as the girl tried to stifle her laughter. He couldn't help but smile at her adoringly. Unbeknownst to him Lenalee and Artemis saw how he was looking at B'ana and smiled. The picture was too cute not to look at.
"The guy really gets on my nerves sometimes, but this is kind of cute," Artemis admitted looking slightly taken aback by his expression.
"I told you," Lenalee said as eh bumped shoulders with the blonde.
"What's cute," Wally asked when he sped up next to Lenalee. He followed where her gaze was and saw Robin. He pouted. "Aw man, I owe Raider ten bucks."
The latter smirked as he approached them, raising one of his hands for a high five from Artemis which she returned. "Lesson number one of making bets with me Wally is to never make a bet with me." He held out his white gloved hand and flicked his fingers back and forth. "I'll take my prize now."
Wally gives him a sour look and softly hits his hand down. "Dude, I didn't bring any money with me, only what I was allowed to bring along with a few essentials."
Raider rolled his sea green eyes behind his mask. "I know that you dunce, I don't have any money either, but I know you have your goggles on you. So~ hand those over please."
"What?! No way, I need these!"
"You don't need them right this second." Wally moved his gloved hands up to his red goggles, softly petting them as if they were actually alive. Raider and Artemis looked at him with an 'are you for real' look.
"But, dude-"
"Nope. Hand them over." Raider summoned his shadow power, making it move towards Wally's goggles and grabbing them from around his forehead. He pulled the shadow back and grabbed the goggles, then put them around his neck. He stared triumphantly down at his prize, gave Wally a mock salute and left with Artemis right behind him.
Lenalee sighed when she saw Wally pouting and gave him a pat on his parka covered back. "It's going to be okay Wally. If something does happen then he'll return them to you."
"That's the thing, he won't give them back." The red head had a crest-fallen look on his freckled face. She didn't want to admit it but Lenalee thought he looked really cute like that. She wouldn't say that to his face though, he would get upset.
"His majesty Prince Christopher has arrived," one of the guards randomly shouted out makign everyone turn in their direction.
"What did he say," M'gann asked.
"He said that my uncle has finally shown up," B'ana translated.
Crow peeved look as she crossed her arms. "It's about time."
The large white and gold double doors opened up with a creak. On the other side of the doors stood Christopher wearing all white (robes, spaulders, and white boots), the same as everyone else besides the guards. He made his way into the large throne room smiling to everyone as he walked up the short flight of stairs to his rather large seat.
"I apologize for the wait. The ships captain asked to speak to me for a few seconds," the man said giving a a furtive look. From the look in his eyes it was obvious that he felt bad for being late.
"M'iona te rai P'igai (You're horrible uncle)," B'ana muttered. It was more than a few seconds that he spent talking with the captain.
Christopher sighed. "I know I was gone for a while but I assure you that your wait is finally over."
"Really," Wally asked, eyes still droopy from his goggles getting taken.
The prince nodded and smiled. "Indeed it is young man. Take a look for yourselves." He pointed his hand out to the large circle like window near the entrance. With a flurry of sparkles and what looked like white snow the window magically opened revealing a very magnificent sight.
There outside of the large window were large floating buildings that were surrounded by blue and silver mist. Not to far from it was a water fall that extended from one side of building to one that was at least 20 feet long and 20 feet wide. It was that huge. Beneath that was a vast amount of hills and plains that were covered by snow and ice. There were people riding by on weird looking animals that looked like a cross between an eagle and a crow. They had white saddles on them and armor which Wally thought was pretty cool. There were also other creatures that looked to be carrying small white vases and clear glass jars.
"Wow," Jasmin chirped with excitement as she watched as they passed by all the people. Connor, who was standing next to her blinked when he saw a large white wolf carrying three small Gyphen children on it's back. They seemed to be having fun from the smiles that were adorned on their faces. Just the sight of them made him miss wolf, and sphere.
"Never in my years have I seen such craftsmanship," Kaldur addressed in appreciation. The designs on the buildings looked to have been carved by hand, not machine. It reminded him a lot of the buildings in Atlantis.
"Look," Robin pointed out towards a statue that they were about to pass. The statue was white of course and had a woman wearing a long sleeved mid thigh length dress with knee high boots that had sparks flying all around it. Her hair was also long and in two pig tails that swirled around her like silk dancing in the wind. The strangest thing was that when they got a closer look at the face mouths dropped immediately.
"That looks a lot like-" M'gann paused and turned to look back at Lenalee who looked as shocked as the others.
"Is that supposed to be you," Artemis asked looking back and forth between the statue and Lenalee. They looked exactly alike.
"Who is that?"
"That is Hai* which means coming of the sea in Chinese," B'ana answered, "Funny thing is she literally did come from the sea about 400 years before my grandfather took up the crown. She was an exorcist just like you," she explained as she looked at Lenalee.
"How do you know I'm an exorcist?" Neither B'ana nor Christopher answered her question, bringing up more questions on this mystery exorcist woman.
Christopher coughed. "I believe that's enough of a history lesson for today. We'll be docking in about two minutes so if you forgot anything make sure to get it now." No one moved from their spot. "Okay then, if no one left anything then let's head to the exit shall we." He got up from his seat and held out his hands.
"Transport us," he blurted out in a booming voice. Like magic (hah XD) everyone slowly faded away not fully understanding what was going on. Then like a poof they were all gone.
Docking Bay
7:12 A.M.
Poof!
The team, Crow, Jasmin, B'ana and Christopher appeared out of thin air right in the middle of the docking bay where a group of royal guards and F'ai stood waiting.
"Welcome back, brother, B'ana. And welcome earthlings to Gyphtyn," F'ai bowed along with the guards behind him.
Christopher grinned at his brother. "It's great to be back. Team this is my brother F'ai who is also B'ana's father. He'll be taking you the rest of the way to the palace."
Crow narrowed her eyes. "Where will you be going?"
"To see my parents. I was requested to report back to them once we landed." He smiled and gave a one armed bow. "I'll see you all later." And he was gone.
"...Well there goes the guy we were supposed to be keeping an eye on," Wally whispered to the others. They all looked to Kaldur who only shook his head.
"It would be best that we stay with Prince F'ai for now. We might be able to gather information from him as well."
Robin sighed. "I guess so. But don't you think we should ask more about that statue we saw first? I mean it was pretty freaky."
"Nah," Raider answered, "I think it would be in her best interest that we wait until later. Right Lenalee?"
She nodded. The mission was their first priority after all.
Wally moved his hand and touched her shoulder giving her a worried look. "Are you sure, cause you know we can ask B'ana's dad about it." Lenalee shook her head.
"We can wait."
"If you say so." He grabbed her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"Come on guys, we're leaving," Artemis called out to them. While they had been speaking to each other everyone else had already started walking ahead.
"Oh man! Come on Lena!" Wally and Lenalee sped forward as they caught up to the group.
There was no way they wanted to get left behind in an unfamiliar place.
And I'm finally done with chapter 23! My God that was a real hassle, I mean geez. Thank God for youtube though. I found some really cool songs that I ended up downloading just for this chapter, as well as for the rest of the story. I was pretty much in a slump when I started this chapter. I didn't know what else to write or what else to put that would be appealing to you all, then that's when I remembered a song that I had, which led me to a whole boat load of awesome songs.
If anyone is interested in finding out what the songs are here's what I found:
Most Emotional Music Ever-Flower Petals (Cheerful-Light).
Most Epic Music Ever-A man of his word
Most Epic Music Ever-Rise of an Empire (start the song at 2:39, it sounds really nice)
Most Epic Music Ever-The Honor of her Efforts
They all sound really good and when I heard them I thought they all fit perfectly with the image I have going for my story, especially since their on a foreign planet now.
Anyway, I would just like to point out that the statue of the woman that looked like Lenalee will get a further explanation in the next chapter, and there will be glimpses here and there of when she was chained down by those scientists. You all just have to be patient, I'm getting there. It's going to be maybe about three to five chapter before I start back up on Canon again. This part of the story is my own original work. Gyphtyn and all of the people on it are mine, that includes Christopher, B'ana, and F'ai. You all already know that Raider, Crow and Jasmin are mine...good.
Well thanks for reading this installment of Wilting Flower and I hope, I hope somebody review this chapter. No flames please. I worked my tale off from 2 o'clock this afternoon to 9 p.m this evening, and I am tired.
See you all next time.
