I closed the book I was reading and put my head on the table with my arms surrounding my face so no one could see me. I couldn't stop thinking about what was happening. I had finally admitted that I did find Draco Malfoy attractive but his personality definitely meant I just found him attractive nothing more. If that was the case then why couldn't I stop thinking about him? He wasn't particularly interesting. I have always admired how he works hard in class though, strangely he hadn't been putting that much effort in his classwork recently which was strange. Should I ask him about it? No, he would probably use that as an excuse to tell me to get my nose out of his business.

Maybe I keep thinking about Draco because I have Ginny and Blaise in the back of my head. I want to tell her it won't work because he is a Slytherin and this war will separate them but I don't want her to be mad at me for telling the truth. But then again he did seem to really like her and she seemed to really like him. I bit my lip anxiously. Why does life have to be so complicated? I sighed but kept my head down.

My thoughts travelled back to Draco. Hopefully he would be horrible to me so I didn't have to keep thinking about him. I bit the inside of my cheek and raised my head. It was now 5:00 so dinner would be ready. I put the book back and walked towards the Great Hall with Draco Malfoy still occupying my thoughts.

Draco was already there when I got to the Library to work with him on the project. He had his head in one hand and was drumming the table with his other hand. He raised his eyebrows when he saw me.

"What I'm not late. It's not even 7:00 yet." I defended myself feeling slightly nervous around him so I awkwardly stood in front of the table.

"I didn't say you were." He said his voice smooth like freshly melted caramel. I placed the parchment that we had been working on in front of him with a quill and some ink and went to find some books. When I got back he was writing on the parchment which made me stop walking suddenly. So he was willing to write tonight? Odd? I put the books beside him and sat down on the chair opposite him. I watched him for a moment, he looked troubled like he was thinking about something; the work we were doing wasn't complicated so something else must have been plaguing his mind. "You're staring at me." His voice cut through my thoughts. I quickly grabbed a book and started flicking through it feeling slightly embarrassed that he knew I was looking at him.

"You are being quite reasonable tonight with working considering your friend called you a twat earlier." I said hesitantly. His eyes darted up to me but I kept my eyes fixed to the page.

"So you would prefer you did all the work." He asked and raised his eyebrows questioningly.

I met his gaze and saw that his eyes were soft but had a slight look of worry in them. I shook my head and focused on the book again, a few seconds later he looked back down at the parchment and continued writing.

We worked quietly until Draco sat up straight and put his arms behind his head. I looked up at him and raised my eyebrows to question why we had stopped working.

"We have been working for an hour we deserve a break." He said but then raised his eyebrows suggestively at me which made me blush, this caused him to laugh at me, I then realised he was joking. What is happening? Why is he joking? Why is he joking with me? I then realised he was still laughing. I looked at him curiously, he definitely looked better looking with a smile- WAIT WHAT! I did not just think that. I smiled nervously at him. This was such a strange few days. He finally stopped laughing and looked back down at his book biting his bottom lip as he did this. I drew my eyes away from him and got up to put some of the books away. It was hard to admit but he wasn't that bad to be around. Oh Ginny is going to love this, I shook my head and smiled as I thought this. When I got back to the table I looked at the parchment and realised that we had almost finished the project. We had a month to do the project yet we had almost finished in a few days.

"We will probably just have to get together one more night and we will be finished with the project." I said to him softly. "I guess that's good for you right because you get to focus on what ever the hell you are troubled about." This caused him to stop writing abruptly and he looked at me with a soft expression rather than the cold expression I had expected.

"How do you know something is troubling me?" He asked softly and quietly.

"I just...erm..." I tried to quickly think of a reasonable response. "I can just tell because of your eyes." I said awkwardly.

He looked at me shocked. "You aren't allowed to know why I am feeling troubled and no one can know that I am troubled, okay?" He said still with a soft tone to his voice. I nodded in response.

He put the books back and gave me the parchment, ink and quill before going out the Library without another word.
