When I went back to the Gryffindor tower I went straight up to the dormitories. I told Ginny about what happened except for something troubling him because even it was Draco Malfoy, I still didn't want to say because she would probably try to get involved. I would have to try to focus on my work tomorrow rather than worrying about him, how bad could his problem be really?

I got ready and had breakfast before going to Potions. We had Professor Slughorn so it was better overall but everyone could tell he favoured Harry. He gave us a task to brew any potion we wanted as long as it wasn't basic. I was half way though mine and it had to set for 5 minutes until I could continue, I found my eyes drift to Draco's table subconsciously to find he was struggling slightly. He looked stressed and looked up to meet my eyes. I would have gone over and helped him despite what the students in the class would say but he gave me a death stare so I decided to revert my eyes back to my potion. Why did I even think about helping him, he would never help me, we were just partners for a project, nothing more. I looked back to his table to see Blaise saying something angrily to him. It was probably just saying 'don't be mean to my girlfriend's best friend.' I turned back to my potion and continued completing it.
At the end of the lesson I packed my things away and tried to work out where to go next because I had a free period. I could revise in my room but there were more resources in the Library, Library it is then. I walked out of the classroom and Blaise caught my eye and gestured for me to go to him, he was alone which was strange usually he was with Draco, Theo or Pansy all the time.
"If you want to cheat on Ginny with me you need to find another girl." I said to him and then tilted my head slightly.
"What? I would never cheat on Ginny, or anyone for the matter. I wanted to apologise on Draco's behalf, he has a lot on his mind." Blaise said genuinely.
This shocked me. "Why are you sorry? He has just reverted back to his normal self, which is good really I was starting to get worried that he was ill." I replied.
"Well yeah he is usually mean to you, but he isn't usually mean to his friends because we are all he has got..." I looked at him shocked again. "...I shouldn't have said that should I?" Blaise said nervously rubbing his neck with his hand anxiously. I dragged him into an empty classroom.
"What is going on with him, do you know? I won't tell anyone I promise." I asked him hurriedly even though I shouldn't care.
"Look, it's not my place to say but I think you might be able to get through to him so I will tell you. You have to swear you don't tell anyone because he didn't even want us to know we just kind of found out." He said giving up easily.
"Is it really that bad?" I asked letting the worry cover my face now but feeling slightly confused yet flattered that Blaise thought I could get through to him.
"Yeah..." Blaise started before looking around silencing the classroom.
"Do you silence classrooms a lot?" I asked feeling slightly awkward and worried that he had silenced the classroom, he could torture me and no one would know.
"Huh...oh right Slytherin expectation thing. No I don't silence classrooms a lot, it's because this is top secret." Blaise explained. "Well here it goes, Draco is a Death Eater, he has been given this task of killing Dumbledore." I grabbed the table that was beside me in shock. "But that's not it, there is something else he is doing, something he won't let anybody know about. I don't think that it can possibly be worse than having to kill a headmaster but he literally won't let anything slip about it. He keeps disappearing and missing lessons because of it. When he returns from his vanishing act he looks disappointed and stressed. That's where you come in, you have to try to find out what he is disappearing to and try to convince him not to do it, as in what he is working on and killing Dumbledore." He took a break for a moment waiting for me to understand this information.
"Why would he be so secretive about this other thing when killing Dumbledore is more threatening?" I asked seriously confused.
"That's the thing, I have no idea. I think it is something incredibly important but it's strange you know, I have never seen him act like this before. He hardly eats, doesn't focus, is stressed all the time, and I swear I have heard him crying." Blaise answered.
"You sound like his mother." I said with a small smile.
"Will you help?" Blaise asked hopefully.
I took a moment to think before I answered. "Yes of course I will, if you are this worried about him. I will definitely help. Why do you think I am the one who can get through to him?"
"Well...you are pretty and you are similar to him. He is slightly relaxed around you already from what I have seen so you are the best for the job. Oh and you can tell Ginny I called you pretty I don't care." He said with a shrug afterwards. "Plus if I find you pretty maybe Draco finds you pretty and will become distracted by all the attention you give him." He said with a grin and a wink.
"One problem with this. How am I meant to spend time with him? People will think it's weird if I start randomly spending time with him." I questioned.
"Oh, just make something up like you have a crush on him or that you want to see if he is a good person, friend or even boyfriend." Blaise answered and raised his eyebrows suggestively.
I couldn't help but stare at Blaise with a mixture of shock, horror and embarrassment across my face. "Watch it Zabini or I won't help you." I said threateningly.
"Wow feisty, I'm sure Draco will enjoy that." He said with a grin. I hit him softly in the chest which made him chuckle. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. You will still help right." He said and flashed his incredible smile at me.
"Yes, I will think of an excuse." I said with a smile afterwards.
He held out his hand for me to shake. "Nice doing business with you."
