Chapter 14: Shattered
A cool breeze came through a crack of the room's single, tiny window. A window that from behind, came the only light source to the room; a red, softly flashing light from the currently dormant alarm system. Gaz turned to her side, she woke with a bit of a start, a creak in the room, she was always a light sleeper and very cautious, now more than ever. She was frustrated with herself, she was so tired, and for some reason the room was altogether hazy. It was a bit more obvious as to why she woke up as she turned; she felt a pressure on the right side of her body pressed into the bed. Her eyes shot open at the dark chuckle to her side.
"Hello, little Gaz…" it almost came across as a hiss, Gaz could've sworn the was almost hate in the was her name was spoken, and it shocked her. She gasped, then remained silent for a while. 'Could it actually be him, how did he get in here, the alarms are flawless, what's wrong with him?!...' "…Zim?..." "Who else." The tone of his voice didn't change, terse and angry. She knew she was in trouble. Before she realized what she was doing, she leapt up, a sad attempt for the door. He sighed, snatching her from the air effortlessly with his pak appendages, she was pinned by the wrists before she could blink.
"Didn't think so." She growled under her breath 'Damn it!' "The effort's just sad now, foolish Gaz." The tone was so new, so different from how he ever spoke to her. "How did you find me?… So Quickly!" Gaz asked, she struggled uselessly against the restraining tentacles. "None of that matters, you shouldn't have ran away from me my dear Gaz, stupid, foolish, human Gaz." He glared at her, the look was so dark, and she could literally she the hate in his eyes. 'could he truly be so furious I escaped.'
"Don't you ever speak to me like that space worm." Gaz growled at him. He glared at her, then grinned insanely. "And why does it matter how I speak to a pathetic dirt whore, one, who might I add, won't be living to care." Now Gaz was truly shocked, something in his already messed up head must've snapped, but Gaz just gaped at his words. He pulled his mouth down on hers, she screamed, now thoroughly shocked, and very confused. She struggled hard felling the lizard's tongue around hers, tightly pulling hers to his mouth. She screamed in pain as he bit down hard on her poor tongue with his strange, quite sharp teeth, she felt blood as they pierced it.
He bent down to her ear as she recoiled from the pain. "The moment you left, you were dead to me, now, I'll make you the very same to the rest of the world." Her eyes shot open could he be serious?! She felt a familiar pressure on her ankles as her wrists, his pak tendrils holding them. "Zim…" Gaz breathed, unsure of what to do, the room seemed to grow even hazier now, and all she could truly focus on was the blood red glow from his eyes.
She screamed in terrible agony as the pressure on her left wrist, the vice was getting tighter, he smiling all the while, finally she heard a crack, it was done, and she continued her pained screams, faintly catching the monster's laughter. The grip just kept getting tighter, so slowly though, she could feel the bone continue to shatter in many places, she could only imagine how her poor wrist could've looked at this point.
Finally the tightening clench stopped, she exhaled, the tendril began pulling, and then forcibly ripped her arm out of socket. She screamed again, her now useless arm throbbing mercilessly. "Awe, does it hurt Little Gaz?!" She glared at him. 'Why was this happening, why was no one coming to help her, couldn't they hear her screams, was she going to die?' "hehe, oh, you should see how pathetic you look, this is way past due, no one's coming because they can't hear you, and yes, you are going to die." He knew what she had been thinking, and she screamed as he quickly broke her right wrist, also ripping it out of place.
"I always did enjoy the sound of your screams." Her legs were broken next; he took the time, working down one to the other, shattering everything from top to bottom. She had never felt so much pain in her entire life, and was surprised she hadn't passed out. All she did was glare into his evil eyes. He pulled out a knife.
"You know, I'm sick of your glaring…" the blade fell quickly into her left eye before she could react, screaming, this was horrible pain, maybe even worse than her mutilated limbs. 'why, why can't I just pass out?!" He laughed, moving the blade around before scooping out the remainder of her eye, tossing it to the floor. He brought the blade to her right eye slowly, wanting her to see the blade, as it enters her most sensitive organ, ending her visual world forever. The laughed manically as he brought it into her eyes slowly over and over disposing of it just like the first one. The blood mixed with tears and something similar to puss oozed from the hallow sockets of her face.
"The saddest thing is, you're still beautiful." He purred to her ear. "Fuck you." She breathed to him, sobbing. "I'm afraid you'll ever get the chance." He laughed. "Just kill me". "Gladly." She felt the tip of the knife sink into her chest, followed by the rest, it was over, she felt the warm liquid fall from her torso, soaking into her bed. She felt calm and darkness began to consume her, somehow, two orbs of red shun through.
Screams echoed through the entire base, Tak ran to Gaz's room, Gaz was holding her chest with one hand and her eyes with the other, curled into a ball. "Gaz I heard screaming, is everything alright?!" Gaz sighed, never had she been so relieved. "Yes everything is alright, I was… it was only a dream…" But Gaz was not alright, her thoughts and sense of safety was shattered.
