The next day I noticed that Draco kept glancing at me in lessons and at lunch he made eye contact with me and smiled which made me feel all tingly inside. What is happening to me? Luckily Harry and Ron were utterly oblivious to me disappearing yesterday and didn't notice Draco glancing at me in lessons. Wait...why was Draco glancing at me? I am probably thinking too much, it was probably nothing. As I walked out of the hall I felt someone grab my arm and lead me into a broom cupboard. I noticed it was Blaise when we were in the cupboard.
"What was that for?" I asked why rubbing my arm because he had a firm grip of it on the way to the cupboard.
"I just wanted an update of how it was going with Draco." He explained casually.
"Oh right." I said while looking to the side.
"Any progress?" Blaise asked hopefully.
"No, none at all." I said sadly.
"Oh." Blaise's face dropped in disappointment.
"I'm trying, it's just that he flirts with me and then I get embarrassed and distracted." I explained.
"It's not meant to be you getting distracted it's meant to be him." Blaise said while rolling his eyes and smiling at me.
"I don't know how I can get him to trust me." I said ignoring his last comment.
"Try showing him something special to you or talk about your personal life or something." Blaise suggested.
"Well I don't really have anything special to me and my personal life isn't that interesting. Plus I don't want to be over the top because I don't want him to be suspicious of me."
"Good point." Blaise said and chewed the inside of his cheek. "Just try to be friends with him, find common interests and if it comes to it throw in the flirting card." He said with a smirk and a wink.
"You expect me to flirt with Draco Malfoy?" I asked and raised my eyebrows at him.
"Well it would distract him." Blaise said cheekily.
"Oh I just remembered Draco said that you asked him to be nice to me. What are you plotting?" I asked him suspiciously.
"Oh come on I'm just trying to help you out." Blaise said with a shrug. "I'm just trying to guide you both in the right direction."
"The direction being?"
"You know...friendship?" He said as a question.
"Right, I don't even want to know what you are trying to make happen Zabini." I said and looked away from him which caused Blaise to laugh.
"What makes you think I'm trying to make anything happen? I don't know what you are thinking of Hermione but whatever it is I'm not involved." Blaise said with a teasing tone and I barely noticed he used my first name.
"Wait did you just use my first name?" I questioned and looked back at him.
"Draco's allowed to." He defended. I just sighed and turned to leave. "So you have no excuse now Granger, you have ways to bond with him so use them." He said before I opened the door and left before he could say anything else.

At dinner I kept glancing at the Slytherin table and I noticed that Draco wasn't really eating and was just looking down at the food on the table. Luckily Harry and Ron hadn't asked Ginny about her secret of dating Blaise, she did need to tell them soon though and I kept reminding her that she had to be the one to tell them. I kept watching Draco and noticed that he looked around before standing up and making his way out of the hall. I looked towards Blaise who gestured that I followed Draco by tilting his head towards the door.
I stood up and went to follow him and tried to look as casual as I could, Harry and Ron might find it suspicious that I just randomly left but most people would think I would have left to study. I made sure to stay slightly behind Draco so he wouldn't notice me. He kept on turning around to see if anybody was behind him so I kept having to hide behind statues. Why was I even doing this? He could be meeting a girl for all I know. He kept turning around a lot though which made me wish I would have borrowed Harry's invisibility cloak so I wouldn't have to keep diving behind statues. I then saw him stand in front of a wall which is where the Room of Requirement appeared so I decided to step out of the shadows now.
"Draco, what are you doing?" I asked him softly.
He turned around to me with a look of anger in his eyes. "Why did you follow me? You are meant to respect your friends." He said bitterly. "Who set you up to this? Potter? Weasley? The Order?"
I looked up at him terrified. "I...er..."
"Just spit it out Granger!" He shouted clearly frustrated.
"You won't like the answer and please don't be mad at him." I pleaded.
"It depends who it is." He said calming his voice slightly.
I took a deep breath in and looked down. "Blaise." I said quietly.
"Blaise?! Blaise? He is meant to be my friend why would he ask you to follow me?" He said with the anger in his voice raising so I looked up to him again. "How do I know you aren't trying to protect one of your petty friends." He said while walking towards me and we ended up with me against the wall and him only a step away from me.
"Draco please. I'm just trying to help you." I pleaded. "And why would I try to blame Blaise if it was one of my friends, that would just make you angrier." I said quietly and looked to the floor for a second and then back to his face. "Clearly you have something to hide so you shouldn't be sneaking around otherwise this wouldn't have happened." I said raising my voice at him now.
"It's none of your business what I'm up to." He said bluntly. "That's why you have been nice to me and offered me out on that walk, it wasn't just because you wanted to, you wanted to use it as an opportunity to get information out of me." Draco concluded.
"It was meant to be to get information out of you but I promise you that it wasn't just because of that." I said softly.
"What else would it be then Granger." I felt slightly hurt that he was using my last name because I knew it was because he was mad at me.
I looked into his eyes softly because I didn't want to even slightly admit to myself what I wanted to say to him. He looked into my eyes and I saw them soften and he raised his eyebrows encouraging me to say it. I took a deep breath in "It's because I have a crush on you."
