Renesmee almost had a heart attack when she looked out of the window of her class and saw him. For a second she thought that maybe she was daydreaming. She hadn't daydreamed about Jacob in a very long time. While she was pondering the time frame of exactly when she had, she realized that this was no daydream. Jacob Black was standing outside her lecture hall. She almost walked out of her room right then and there without permission. Thankfully, the professor was excusing the class.
Running down the steps, she almost knocked over one of the deans of her college. She apologized profusely and then headed to the door. Peering out, she pondered the reasoning of his presence. There was a chance that Jacob had decided to take college classes, but she knew that he always kept up with her whereabouts. He had a deal going on with Alice. They had once stopped her from tracking him down when she had been much younger.
Pondering this memory in her mind, she noticed that Jacob seemed to be looking for someone. No. Someone. Maybe he came to talk with mom. Both of her parents had enrolled specifically to keep tabs on her. Her mom hadn't really talked with Jacob in some time. She was a little bit upset with how he had left Renesmee. Not that he had left her, but the impact that it had on her.
When he had left, it felt as though her entire world had ended. It took her years to be able to get over the initial shock and years after that to find different friends and eventually date. Lord knows that her mom and dad were so excited when she told them she had a date that they couldn't contain their smile. She was certain at least her father would have been a little bit overprotective. However, since her first date was with a human, he knew that she could handle herself. He was just overjoyed that there was a chance his daughter might find happiness again.
Suddenly, Renesmee came up with an ingenious idea. She wanted to follow him, but she needed to be unseen. The only way was to get out of the lecture hall and double back. Maybe then she could get to the bottom of this. She decided to act like she was heading to the library. Maybe he wouldn't see her and then she could follow him and get some answers. She put her messenger bag over her shoulders and took a deep breath. Opening the door, she didn't make eye contact. She walked down the stars and took a left towards him. He was about fifty yards out, so she made it seem like she was overly involved with her phone and tried her hardest to make him not see her. Then she realized he had found the target he was looking for when he had seen her.
Out the corner of her eye, she noticed that he seemed to be visibly relieved and he just turned around and walked away. Renesmee knew three things were certain at that moment. First, Jacob Black had come to her university to see her. Secondly, he was visibly relieved when he saw her which means he might think that she is in some type of danger. Thirdly and the most disheartening is he had no intention of saying hello even though it had been 10 years since they had been in the same location.
Well that's not going to happen bucko.
Renesmee turned and walked straight towards Jacob. She was going to definitely at least say hello and maybe even give him a piece of her mind. How dare he just leave without saying hello?
She walked fast behind him and when she was close enough, she stood with her arms crossed and just looked at him. "Going so soon?"
