Chapter 2: Little Sister, Little Brother, Big Problem
A/N: Hey guys... so, I'm back! Sorry it took so long, but here it is. I'm rewriting all chapters after the first, so hopefully these will be better. Anyways, hope you enjoy, and I own nothing!

Previously:
"ANGEL!"
We turned towards the scream's origin and saw a helicopter rise not too far from our position. And I immediately knew, somehow, that it was the School.
Now: (3rd P.o.V.)
The boy's faces turned hard as Cole started mapping out a plan of escape.
"OK, we're going to split up: 2 & 3. I'll take Kai with me in one direction, you three go another. Stay low, and keep together. If you get separated, find a place to hide out. Fight as hard as you can, but watch your powers since we can't control them yet. If you get caught, then... stay strong we'll see each other soon. Got it?"
He received mixed replies as the boy's mulled over what would happen should they get caught.
"Alright then, Ninja, Go!"
And with that, the five boys split off and zoomed in different directions straight towards the forest below. The helicopter waisted no time and turned in the direction of the larger group, getting as close to the forest as it dared before Erasers jumped out. They started jumping through the trees in order to catch up with their prey faster. And, unfortunately, duh to their colorful wings, they boys were all too easy to follow.
Meanwhile
Cole and Kai raced through the forest in their chosen direction as fast as they dared. They woven in and out of trees with such perfect finesse and synchronization, that it could almost be considered a beautiful dance, if it weren't so panic-driven. They stopped miles into the forest to take a quick breather, while staying on guard, of course. However, Cole realized with a heavy heart that they had not been followed, and he found himself worrying somewhat for the three others. No, none of them were actually related, but they all felt like brothers. Cole's thoughts were interrupted as he felt a foreign, yet familiar presence nearby. Kai must have felt it also, if his actions were anything to go by.
Kai straightened and called out, "We know you're out there. Stop hiding and face us."
Just as Cole was about to lecture him, a voice, that was definitely feminine, called back.
"Funny, that sounds like something I would say."
And out of trees came a girl in her early teens, (though, to both boys, she looked their age) with long, dark brown hair and matching eyes, wearing general clothes (jeans, shirt, sneakers), and a biker jacket. Cole and Kai could clearly see her bloodied, splintered knuckles as well as the signs of one having previously been crying. They also saw the reason her presence had felt somewhat familiar, because, after all, birds know their own kind, right? The girl gave a wry smile as she stepped closers to the boy's.
"Hi, I'm Max, and from what I've seen, I'm just like you."

A/N: So, yes, it's short, but not incredibly so, besides... Cliffhangers! Don't we love them? Yeah, I'm gonna go now before I die. Bye, it's good to be back!
