"NO!"
Kid will come home. Liz would make sure of it.
Though he would never admit it, Tsubaki made him better and he needed to save her before he lost his hope for good.
The lighting flickered in the slimy, wet room of Arachne's cave. Tsubaki gradually opened her eyes, revealing the disgust and mold of the room. She had no idea where she was, or who brought her here. The room shimmered with the glimpse of markings and jar of different body parts. The door stood seven feet high with bars in a little window. Tsubaki tried to move her hand but was restricted by a cold chain grasping her wrist. She looked to her body and saw she was chained to the wall. Tsubaki whimpered with fear of who could have snatched as she slept on her bed. Who was sneaky enough to keep her relaxed and at slumber while they chained her to this cold and cobwebbed filled wall? Who could hate her so much to do this? As Tsubaki looked around to find the answer to her daunting questions, she saw another woman chained to the wall. This woman didn't look at all healthy or alive for that matter. Her bones were glowing off her skin, imprinting her tan coat. Her eyes seemed to droop but not of exhaustion but lack of food. Her lips black as coal, and dry as a desert. The woman spoke no words aloud but mumbled to herself. Tsubaki tried to make out this quiet jumble of words, but could only hear death and protect. As the woman continued her chant, the door swung open causing the concrete floor to make an awful creaking sound. A figure in a black cloak entered the room, stepping forward to the chanting woman. The woman looked up at the cloak and began to scream. Her pitched scream pained Tsubaki's ears but the dreaded noise halted. Tsubaki glared up and watched in horror as the figure sliced the throat of the fragile woman and began to place spiders on her lifeless body. The spiders began eating away at skin of the dead lady. Making her body bleed more; Tsubaki's eyes began to tear as she watched this stranger's life be taken from her.
"You know, the people say to never make a deal with the devil or all hope for you is lost. She should have listened." The figure spoke with this malicious but still seductive tone. She spoke properly as if she was born in an early time.
"Hmm, dear did I forget to introduce my acquaintance? Well Tsubaki, my name is Arachne. I'm a close friend of your brother and love interest."
"You lie! Blackstar would never settle himself with someone like you." Tsubaki retorted back angrily.
"Oh feisty are you? Mifune never said that in his description of you." Arachne chuckled at Tsubaki's dumbfounded face as she finally realized who would put her in this situation.
"Mifune..."
"That's right. He said if I wanted to get Blackstar's attention, you would definitely be good as the bait." Archane shared her little conversations she had with Mifune to Tsubaki, explaining how everything came to play. Tsubaki didn't understand what was happening but she needed to know why torture Blackstar.
"Why do you need him? Why Blackstar?" Tsubaki asked bowing her head so her eyes would meet the floor.
"Haven't you heard? Your precious Blackstar is the Dark Assassin, killer of many and the son of the most dangerous couple of my gang. Too bad his parents couldn't make it, but they crossed the line."
"What do you mean, didn't make it?" Tsubaki asked, voice trembling afraid of what answer she might receive.
"Well they were beheaded of course, hearts ripped out their chest and framed on my wall as awards. To kill such a treacherous pair, one must simply hang her achievements. Besides it's not like he recognized his own parents when he walked through my halls." Arachne stated with a sly smirk stretching across her lips.
"Blackstar would never walk here. And his parents were never killers, they died and he was too young to understand, so someone took him in." Tsubaki said trying to convince herself that her story was true.
"Is that what he told you?" Arachne began laughing as if what Tsubaki said was a cruel, sick joke.
"No…but his family can't be killers." I won't believe that he and his family were killers!" Tsubaki yelled, tears streaming down her pale cheeks while stinging her eyes.
"Well believe it, want to see?" Before Tsubaki could protest, a picture dropped from the ceiling, covering the whole other side of the wall across from her. Tsubaki gawked in horror as she saw two people, a man and woman, holding human body parts in their hands and evilly smirking at the camera with blood soaking clothes. The woman had long, dark, blue hair like Blackstar's but soft green eyes to make a child's heart sing. The man standing next to her was completely opposite of what the woman was. He had half of his face covered but his eyes were dark and wicked. His hair was in the shape of a star like Blackstar's except white as the snow. The two looked sinful and not what Tsubaki expected at all. Tsubaki looked away wanting to rid of this image, but the picture was already burned in her memory. The image of two people joyously holding their victims in their hands scarred her mind. She silently cried to herself; Arachne had a ball watching Tsubaki be tortured by her perfect image of Blackstar's family be desiccated with the hanging image.
"Do you believe me now?" Arachne asked knowing the answer to her sadistic question.
Tsubaki nodded; Arachne walked out satisfied with her torture.
Tsubaki sobbed, wanting to leave this cruel and dark room, but she was trapped. Tsubaki's tears ran down her face, touching her pink lips, stinging her now red eyes, hurting her in every way. The door swung open again, exposing a strong man holding a loud, little body. Tsubaki squinted to examine the woman, Tsubaki's jaw dropped when she realized who she was.
"How dare you grab me?! I will kick your sorry ass when I get out of these chains! Fuck you Giriko!" Maka screamed as Giriko laughed and shuffled away. The blonde hadn't notice her friend, also chained the wall next to her. Maka began cursing under her breath and examining one side of the room onto the next. Finally Tsubaki whispered Maka's name. Maka slowly turned and saw the violet orbs she missed dearly. Tsubaki and Maka smiled at each other, wanting to be in each other's embrace. Tsubaki looked into her friend's eyes and began to sob; baffled by Tsubaki's sudden tears, Maka whispered to her scared friend.
"We can get out of here." Maka whispered to Tsubaki. Tsubaki eyed her friend; she stretched a faint smile across her face.
"I know we can. I'm just worried."
"About?" Maka asked her friend.
"I might be in love with a killer." Tsubaki turned her head to the hanging picture of Blackstar's parents. Intrigued by Tsubaki's last words, Maka turned her vision to the direction Tsubaki's eyes wandered to. Maka gasped in shock; was she looking at Blackstar's parents? Maka looked back to Tsubaki and watched helplessly while her best friend wept at the cruel image. Tsubaki bit her lip from the pain Arachne caused. Tsubaki tasted the blood from her bite travel to her tongue. She let out an exhausted sigh and turned back to her friend. Maka knew Tsubaki would be in the most pain from learning where Blackstar really came from. After this, Tsubaki might never see Blackstar again. "But what about Soul?" Maka thought to herself. "Is his family any better?" Maka's green orbs began circling until Tsubaki captured her attention with her whistle. Maka and Tsubaki looked towards a metal, dissecting table. The table had a body on top of it, but a raggedy, grey, long cloth covered the person. The sheet hid the identity of the person especially that the person was Kid.
Tsubaki spotted red blood stains on certain areas of the cloth. Something didn't feel right about the covered body. Before Tsubaki could open her mouth to discuss the body to Maka, the door opened again. Mosquito walked into the room with the master keys jingling from his black pant loop. He looked at the two girls then to the covered body. Mosquito walked to the dissecting table, grabbed the covers and exposed Kid's face. His eyes were closed, mouth sewed into an 'X', and body full of tiny bite marks. Maka's jaw dropped and Tsubaki's eyes began to water again. There lay their dear friend, someone who means more than the world to, unconscious to whatever Arachne did to him. Tsubaki held onto her chains tight, gripping the cold metal until she could feel her hand numbing. She couldn't stand the pain of seeing one of her friends be tortured by this spider wretch. Tsubaki began to pull from her chains, causing a ruckus to the room. Mosquito glared at Tsubaki and laughed as she struggled to set herself free. Tsubaki began to shake and pull harder on her rusted chains. Surprised by her friend's effort, Maka watched as Tsubaki's chains began to loosen as she pulled on them. Tsubaki didn't know but she was actually setting herself free. Maka looked at her chains and realized that her chains were as loose as Tsubaki's. The two girls shook and pulled on their chains together. Maka pulled hers silently while Tsubaki cried and scream of anger. Tsubaki's blood boiled in her veins, building her anger causing a fire in her heart – Kid needed to be saved. She pulled herself to Kid trying to reach for him. The rusty chains detached from the concrete wall causing Tsubaki to fall on her knees and hands to the cold floor. Tsubaki slowly got up from her spot and looked directly at Mosquito with tears in her eyes. Mosquito backed up, frightened that she was able to get out of her chains. Maka scrutinized the room and found a small pipe next to Tsubaki.
"Tsubaki, the pipe next to you!" Maka yelled to her friend.
Tsubaki saw the weapon and grabbed the pipe to get a swing at Mosquito. Tsubaki hit Mosquito with the pipe throwing him backwards into the dissecting table. After getting up, Mosquito ran to Tsubaki and kicked her in the ribs before she could swing at him again. He stomped his foot on the floor; his suede boots clicked revealing a tiny blade on the tip of the shoe. He swung his leg to Tsubaki's face but was stop from a hit to his face. Tsubaki stared at Mosquito's laying body on the floor; she looked up to see that Giriko stopped Mosquito from hitting her. Giriko grabbed Tsubaki long ponytail and pulled her up to her feet. With her ponytail in his hand, Tsubaki didn't want to move for he might have slit her throat. Maka saw the fear in Tsubaki's eyes. She saw how the terror danced in her friend's pupils and the drops of sweat raced on her face. Maka could feel Tsubaki's heart beating harder and faster the more she got nervous. Giriko held on tight to Tsubaki's fragile neck and furiously glared at Mosquito as if he was going to damage his prized possession.
"You asshole, we can't kill them just yet. Besides we have to keep them until the company comes over."
"What company?" Maka asked Giriko. Giriko grinned at Maka exposing his predator teeth. He stepped closer to Maka with Tsubaki's neck still in his grip.
"Didn't you plan to see Soul? Because he definitely plans to come see you."
Giriko laughed at Maka's worried expression. Giriko turned back to Tsubaki to see that her pale face began to slowly change into a shade of lavender. Giriko let go of Tsubaki, dropping her on the concrete floor. As she dropped, Tsubaki gasped for air, trying to refill her lungs with oxygen. Tsubaki crawled back to the wall where Maka was hanging from. She rested her weak body to the grey walls; she breathed deeply trying to think of what Giriko meant by company. Was Blackstar aware of Tsubaki's disappearance? Who else knew she was gone? Would he come and save her? Could she save herself? Tsubaki felt a sting go through her leg, piercing her toes. Tsubaki examined her leg; to her surprise, she found a bruise from falling to the ground. The pain was intense but she swallowed it. She knew she would have to be braver if she wanted to get out of this prison. Mosquito finally got up from the hit and walked out the door. Giriko laughed and looked at the girls. He got up close to the girls and grinned.
"If your little friends don't show up tonight, you two will end up like your friend over there, or maybe worse." Giriko laughed knowing he put fear into their hearts. As Giriko walked into the hallways of the facility they kept, Mifune stood waiting for Giriko to return from his visit to the detainees. Giriko tried walking passed Mifune but Mifune placed his hand on Giriko's shoulder before he could go any further.
"How's Tsubaki?" Mifune asked sincerely.
"Why the hell do you care?" Giriko asked with full knowledge that Mifune was still in love with Tsubaki.
"Just because she stopped caring doesn't mean I have." Mifune stated revealing his full intentions with trying to get Tsubaki back.
"Well that just means you need to stop. She doesn't want you. I guess the blue haired kid gave her better loving than you could." Giriko laughed until he felt the sharp blade of Mifune's sword slide under his throat. Mifune pinned Giriko to the wall and lifted him until he floated in the air.
"Don't you ever say that…no one will love her more than me." With that last statement, Mifune dropped Giriko to the ground and walked away.
Ring-Ring
The bell rang all throughout the cave. Arachne smiled and demanded someone open the door.
"The company is here."
4 hours earlier….
"Liz wake up! We need to get Kid." Patty jumped on her sister's bed trying to wake her up. Liz slept soundly in her blankets until her energetic sister interrupted her sleep. Liz couldn't exactly sleep since her dreams enhanced her fear of Kid's well being. The fear of Arachne massacring Kid didn't sit too well with Liz's stomach, especially now that there was a baby growing inside her womb.
Liz groggily sat up on her bed, stressing over what the day would bring her. She wanted nothing more than to have Kid home and keep him that way. Sadly, her love was stuck with the spider from hell. Arachne has a reputation of torturing her victims and if she doesn't get what she wants they die. Even on some occasions, the victims were so scarred from being tortured that they ended up committing suicide. But Liz knew Kid was a strong man, nothing really scared him. That's why he got into the field of being a sheriff. Kid wanted to save lives and nothing scared him but every case was new to him; he didn't want to be in the education system like his father (even though, he was practically raised in the classrooms), he wanted an adventure and he found his job…and her.
"Liz, get up! Blackstar is downstairs." Patty said forcing her sister up with her strength.
"What does he want?" Liz asked confused by his presence
"Arachne saw him last night, Tsubaki is with her." Patty explained to her sister the event that Blackstar shared with her. Liz grabbed her sister's shoulders to stop her talking; Liz stumbled to the stairs to see if Blackstar really was downstairs. When Liz and Patty reached the staircase, they witnessed their dear friend concentrated on their living room wall. Liz and Patty exchanged looks and settled on going downstairs to see what he would be looking at. The girls walked down the stairs and stared into Blackstar's direction. The group stared at the picture of all the girls, laughing in the dance room they all met in. Maka reading how to do a Royale, Liz and Patty both doing Pas de deux, and Tsubaki smiling while doing a Penchée. The girls looked so happy in their picture. To think that two sisters coming off the streets and being dance students at Shibusen, meeting two amazing friends and now culinary teachers at the same school could be possible. As the group scrutinized the photo, Blackstar broke the silence.
"She looks so happy in that picture." Blackstar said not moving from his spot.
"We all were. Tsubaki, Maka, Patty and I were happy, and then the truth came out." Liz said with no hesitation.
"You mean I came in the picture. None of this would have happened if I never met her."
"No Blackstar, it would have happened either way, Patty and I were still in Arachne's gang. No matter what she would have did this." Liz tried to clarify, but Blackstar couldn't fight this sense. The sensation of someone reminding him how much of an idiot he's been; the feeling of someone resting bricks in his stomach; to have something replay in his mind and the ending gets worse with every play. He felt guilt in his heart. The guilt of not protecting Tsubaki, the way he should have been. Blackstar knew Arachne as a cruel woman but he needed to save his goddess. If he didn't she would die, plus people would think the great and powerful BLACKSTAR was scared of some insect.
As Blackstar, Patty and Liz stared at the picture, a knock came at the door. Patty went to open the door but never took her eyes off that happy moment. When Patty opened the door, her eyes caught interest of a slouched Soul with a ruined bouquet of flowers in his hand. Soul walked into the house, dragging his feet along. Liz looked to who was at the door and snickered at Soul's appearance. Curiously, Blackstar turned his head to Soul and burst out in laughter.
"Damn, what happened to you?" Liz asked
"Yeah! What happened?" Patty excitedly repeated.
"I know what happened; Maka gave him a piece of her mind! HAHAHAHAHA!" Blackstar laughed and pointed in Soul's face. Soul pushed the laughing Blackstar out his way and headed straight for Liz.
"That's not what happened. Maka is missing! Giriko took her last night. He left this note but I think it maybe something worse." Soul stated; Blackstar stopped laughing and got up from the floor. He walked to Soul but looked at Liz the whole time. Liz swapped expressions when she heard about Maka. Now both of her friends were in danger, along with her husband. Liz sat down on the couch and rested her face in her palms. She couldn't take this news of despair but the four of them needed to save their companions.
Liz and Soul began to think while Blackstar paced the living room floor. The four of them needed to know how to get in Arachne's cave and sneak the others out before she could notice their presence.
"Where would she keep them?" Liz asked
"Maybe in her room or in the cages when you first walk in." Soul suggested
"I doubt she would put them in an obvious place, plus if she even put them there, we wouldn't be able to sneak them. She has guards in her room as well as the damn front entrance." Blackstar said
Patty walked away from the conversation to where the note Arachne left last night. She read the note and laughed to herself. Blackstar, Liz and Soul look at Patty bewildered of her sudden outburst. Patty glanced in their direction and grinned widely. She knew they had no idea what she was laughing about, but she did. She knew where their friends were. Arachne had a special room where she would put special hostages. Cobwebs filled the room; so many spiders lived and fed on human flesh. Patty only went down there once but that was because she wanted to follow where the spiders go.
"If I say I have a plan, will you believe me?" Patty asked the trio.
Liz, Soul and Blackstar exchanged face and then looked to Patty. Happy that she had everyone's attention, Patty sat and explained what she needed everyone to do.
"So let me get this straight, you want us to distract Arachne and her little henchmen and you get Tsubaki, Maka, and Kid to escape?" Liz asked trying to get the plan to stick in her brain.
"Yes, that's what I'm saying." Patty confirmed.
"Sounds good to me, it's cool." Soul said
"As long as I am the center of that skank's attention and I beat her for taking my goddess, sounds like a good plan." Blackstar stated with his chest out.
"Cool, so are we ready to do this?" Soul said.
"Don't we need weapons?" Liz asked
"A GOD LIKE ME DOESN'T NEED WEAPONS." Blackstar yelled proudly.
"I have guns at home. If we need any." Patty said.
Everyone looked confused at her last statement. Did Patty just say she had guns? The boys looked at Liz and she seemed to be as baffled as they were. Liz walked towards her sisters; she held Patty's shoulders and looked her into her bright blue eyes. Liz sighed, "Patty, where the hell do you keep guns in your small apartment?"
"Just follow me." Patty said walking and leaving out the front door.
Blackstar shrugged his shoulders and followed after the enthusiastic powerhouse. Liz and Soul sighed and shuffled along. The group traveled to Patty's apartment in need of her weapons. The friends strolled into the apartment looking into the closet for the so called "guns" Patty might have. The trio searched her whole apartment; they looked into her bathroom, bedroom, inside the cabinets of the kitchen and under the sofas in her living room but found nothing. Patty walked back into the closet and pushed her clothes to the side. Exposing a slight crack on the wall, Patty pressed a red button attached to a door. The opening door revealed many different types of weapons ranging from pepper spray and pocket knives to rifles and AK47s. The group stood wide eyed as Patty pulled at least two firearms for each person. The group grabbed their guns and ran over the plan again. The four nodded their heads and walked out the door.
Liz started the car and everyone hopped in. They rode the car in the distance with the sun hanging low from the sky. The yellow pigment spreading through the rippling sky, mixing with the blue and red hues captured the eyes of citizens; the sinking sun changing into the evening moon. After driving for an hour, Liz finally pulled up to the warehouse. Liz looked at the time – 7:50 pm – and gazed at the old place her and her sister came to find family. Liz and Patty committed ordered crimes and still considered these horrid people family. Liz let a tear escape from her eyes, burning her face as it sprinting to her lips. Liz thought these people would protect her and her sister from anything. But they didn't care for them, they needed people to do their dirty work. Liz wiped off her lonely tear and woke the cohort up. The boys yawned while Patty unraveled her body from her fettle position. The group of friends sat for the next ten minutes; Patty goofing around, Blackstar thinking of Tsubaki, Soul humming, and Liz praying for a miracle. The silence swallowed the car until the clock changed to 8:00 pm. Finally with a puff Soul interrupted the unrequited silence.
"It's eight." Soul said
"That's Kid's favorite number." Liz chuckled remembering her husband's crazy OCD.
"Ready to kick some ass Liz?" Patty asked
"HELL YEAH! I DEFINITELY AM!" Blackstar screamed
Liz laughed and Soul smiled back at Blackstar, "Well then let's give them a show", and with Soul's statement, the four got out the car and walked up to the door. Soul rang the door bell and a minion answered. The group looking seriously at the henchman, Blackstar pushed his way to the front of the group. Blackstar smiled in the henchman's face and said:
"Tell Arachne that her company is here."
Sorry it's been a while, school has been killing me plus I have other activities. But of course the story stayed in mind and I got tired of looking at it unfinished so time to finish and work on new chapter. Damn I try to make this good, so review and tell me what you think. Needs more love? More fighting? (you will see it in chapter 12) More sex? if you answered yes for the last question, you are naughty ;3. Oh by the way. The dance terms for one of the parts in this chapter, you can look them up on google , they are extreme dance moves so it wouldn't be hard to explain but if you are too lazy to look them up here's the definition.
Pas de deux - dance of two people
Royale - jump, in which the dancer takes off from fifth position, extends the toes towards the ground, beats the front leg into a tight fifth in the air, switches the feet front to back, and lands in fifth.
Penchee - A lean of the body.
There you go! well time to write the next chapter, oh by the way, HAPPY HOLIDAYS !
