Chapter 38- Reunited
Hagi raced to the ball park where he could sense the distress of the newest chevalier. Yes, he was the forgotten one, but he would still need to have a few things explained to him. Perhaps things may have been different for the cellist if someone would have been there to explain things to him after he fell from the cliffs.
It had been a very difficult 30 years after Saya had gone into her first hibernation. Poor Hagi had no clue what was going on.
Saya had been getting weaker and weaker with each passing day after the Zoo burned down. Joel's son, Joel II, was doing everything he could to understand what was happening to Saya, but most of the attendants dismissed it as a reaction to her grief. The man she knew as her father had died tragically at the hands of a young woman that Saya now knew was her sister- Diva.
One day, Hagi came to the bedroom where she rested to find her completely unconscious and with a fine layer of what looked to be spider webs covering her body. His distress was great, but something inside him insisted that she was alright.
He was in his own struggle that was taking all his effort to fight off. Every moment that passed in Joel II home was pure torture for the new chevalier- a chevalier that knew nothing about what he had become.
The first Joel's diary had been found and read by Saya and Hagi as well as many of the members of the newly founded Red Shield. While it explained all that was discovered about Saya and the other unnamed subject in the tower, it said nothing about what could explain what had happened to Hagi. In other words, he was something completely new.
The one thing that made this easier and more difficult was the fact that no one, save Saya and himself, knew what had happened to him. He could just imagine what they may do to him.
Hagi was slightly concerned with his lack of fatigue, even in the dead of night, he just could not sleep. He would lay for hours at a time, just staring at the ceiling. Finally, he opted to venture to the burned remains of the mansion where he and Saya had lived. Those nightly ventures to the Zoo leant to the rumors of the place being haunted, therefore, frightening the locals away from the place.
Another thing was his body's rejection of food. When offered to him before his accident, he could eat pretty much anything placed in front of him, but his appetite had been brought to an abrupt halt. He could handle tea or wine, but solid food was just not tolerated and would come back up quite violently.
However, he did get hungry. While he would wonder the countryside at night, he could smell the people in the villages. He could feel his body react quite alarmingly. There would be a sharp prick at the back of lips and his vision would cloud with a red haze. More than once, he had succumbed to this raging demand and found a transient to sink those pointy new fangs into the poor soul. It took nearly 30 years of self discipline to control his hunger.
The transformation was something, however, he could control. Saya's expression that day was burned into his memory for whatever his lifetime would be. There were days that he would have to run as far as he could to just expend the energy in himself. It was a poor substitute for what he really needed- her. He could not keep himself from her, even though he was certain she was dead.
When 25 years had passed and the doctors, Joel II, and everyone else had given up on her, they had placed her in a coffin. Hagi had to be restrained to keep him from ripping the place apart. After he had injured many of the men and destroyed most of the grounds, it was agreed that they would place the coffin and Saya in a crypt rather than bury her.
For the next five years, Hagi stayed in that crypt, playing for his love- the love that did not know of his feelings for her. When no one was there to see, the chevalier would rest his forehead on the smooth surface of the coffin where she lay and cry his heart out.
When the thirty years had passed, he was there in his usual routine of playing when he thought he heard a heartbeat. He stilled the bow to strain his powerful hearing, but heard nothing.
Pulling the bow across the strings again, he could now feel the heartbeat pounding against his own chest. This time, he placed the cello against the wall and the bow on his seat as curiosity took over. When his hand rested on the coffin, he had the overwhelming urge to lift the lid.
Once the lid was lifted, he gazed on the soft webs that surrounded the object of his affections. Looking at her like this was so difficult. He couldn't even see her and it killed him inside. He brought his tall frame down to kneel next to her and folded his arms, resting his head on the folded arms.
Pouring out all that he had been doing while she was here, he suddenly requested as he felt tears prick the back of his eyes, "Please, Saya, wake up."
Hagi came out of his memory when he arrived at the ball park across from Omoro. The man was lying on the ground near the old stands. When Hagi came up to the young man, he heard him ask, "Why are you here? They all left me here."
Hagi did not answer and instead turned his head to Omoro as the wind caught the hair surrounding his face. The tendrils of ebony danced around his alabaster face as he stood with the moonlight glinting off his blue-grey eyes, cello case held securely on his shoulder. The look was ethereal.
Raoul then added, "This is my punishment. I am to live on the outskirts of it all and to watch from a distance as my queen is served by someone else."
Eyes as cold as steel then turned to the man on the ground. For a time, the two just stared at each other. Finally, Hagi said, "You did not care for the heart you have hurt."
A snort came from the new chevalier before he retorted, "Neither did you."
Hagi did not respond. There was no reason for him to explain himself to this traitor. Instead, he informed Raoul, "You will begin to feel different soon. You will need to feed on blood and will no longer require any human food. Your eyes will never close in sleep again." He looked up into the building across the way to the one window he knew better than anything. "You will also have an uncontrollable urge to be at Hibiki's side."
He snorted again. With a bitter chuckle, he responded, "So that was what she meant by this being a punishment. I will never be allowed to do what is in my nature now." Shaking his head, he sat up and looked at the quiet predecessor. "I thought immortality was a reward."
"It can be, when done correctly," Hagi responded. "I must go." Before the new chevalier could argue, the tall, dark figure was gone. Hagi had to get back to his apartment. He hated to leave Mary Frances alone there with a man… and this one was much worse. These two were always all over each other. He was not informed of their declaration of love, but he knew two things- they were not married and he was not about to allow his daughter to do that… not in his home!

Shortly after the chevalier left, Mary Frances moved from the sofa to the kitchen, biting her lip in anticipation. Her Jack had asked for a glass of water- her Jack. She smiled contentedly as she opened the refrigerator and pulled out the pitcher of ice water, deciding she liked the thought.
As she poured a glass of the cold water, she felt a pair of warm arms going around her waist and warm lips press against the pulse point on her neck. With a happy sigh, she leaned against him as he molded their bodies together and pressed his hips against her back side.

"Miss me?" she gasped as he dug the thick erection into her backside with a needy whine.
"God, yes!" he replied quickly as his hands began to fondle her breasts through the layer of fabric that covered them. With a deep moan, he took her earlobe between his teeth and nibbled before he commented in his a husky voice, "I am so happy you aren't wearing a bra."
Her nipples came to attention immediately in reaction to his touch. She had been craving these hands for so long! Those men before were definitely a poor substitute. Her body was humming with anticipation as his fingers twirled around the twin buds that hardened even more, causing her to arch against him.
With a smirk, the man of her desires brought his hand down her body slowly, skimming over her belly that was bare since the shirt was a bit short. Skilled fingers found the waist band of her sweat pants and played along the rim as she angled herself to have the bulge in his pants rubbing against her in just the right way, causing him to feel a jolt of demand shoot through him. With a groan, he turned her around and pushed her against the kitchen counter.
With a swift movement, he yanked her shapeless sweat pants down, bringing him to be positioned at eye level with what he had been dreaming of for the past month- or had it been longer? With wide eyes, he watched as her long fingers began to fondle the wet folds he was dreaming of. His hand instantly came to the twitching demand that was still confined in his pants. It was aching to be inside her- literally.
Knowing what it was he intended to do, she pulled him up from the floor. He didn't come all this way to rub one out in his pants. With a husky breath she demanded, "Jack, I need you inside me- NOW!"
Eager as he was, all he could manage to do was lift her onto the counter top and bring their mouths together in a much wanted kiss. Her hands managed to pull his zipper down as their tongues danced together as one kiss blended into the next. They did not stop as he could no longer wait.
His hips thrust forward, but he was still in his boxers. He managed to bury half his length within her as he wrapped her legs around him and began to move in spite of being hindered by those confining boxers.
Mary Frances' giggle broke through the fiery haze of pent up lust as his eyes joined hers between her legs. His small chuckle joined hers as he pulled himself from her and worked his way through buckles and zippers to completely free himself. "I guess that answers your question, baby. Yeah, I missed you…" He began kissing her neck again as he re-entered her, bringing a moan from both of them.
She moaned as she felt that wonderful, delicious fullness that only he could give her. With a whimper, she reluctantly pushed him back from her and said, "We have to stop."
He continued to move as he pinched her nipples in just the way she liked. The hiss that came from his lover nearly caused him to lose himself in her. "I can't stop now, MF. I've been dreaming of fucking you for too damn long now."
When he angled himself just the right way, she could feel that tingling, pulsing that she had been wanting for far too long. Her hips began to move the way that made her quiver around his perfect length. As he freed her mouth for a moment, she was panting out, "I don't… want to… stop!"
She was climbing higher and higher with each stroke and she couldn't stop even if that damn Hagi came through the door right now. Between kisses, she panted, "He'll… be… pissed."
Jack pressed in and pinned her hips to the counter in his strong hands and began to rub his length in and out, causing her to cry out her frustration. He knew how she liked to move against him to bring her orgasm about, but he wanted to be the one to bring her there this time. Kiss swollen lips came together before he pulled back and said, "If he catches us, I'll be the one to tell him that he needs to get laid."
She was too close to even hear the joke much less get it. With the way he was holding her and that wonderful feeling that building inside her, she was not in this world. The sensation was beyond anything she'd remembered feeling before. No one could ever make her feel as good as this man. Her body was already tightening around him as he continued to push and pull inside her.
It started with a cry and he could feel her entrance pulling him further inside of her. The warm pulsing was drawing him closer and closer to his end, but he winced as he willed himself to stay in control.
The next stroke caused her to arch off the counter top with a high, keening wail and he quickened his pace as he angled himself to keep rubbing over that same spot that made her scream and scream is what she did. One stroke more and she tightened around him like a vice and the next stroke brought out a long cry of passion.
He continued moving between her legs, quickening his pace as she quivered around his painfully hard erection. He felt his body begin to quiver and locked eyes with the love of his life. "I love you…" he declared between breaths. "I love you so damn much, MF."
Her brown eyes were dreamily content as she responded with a half smile, "I love you, too, Jack."
The words she spoke made his heart soar as he felt his body finally release powerfully as he buried himself inside and stilled, coating her inside with a layer of his thick white seed. He cried out his love for her into the empty kitchen, grateful that no one had interrupted them.
They were both panting hard as they sank to the floor in a pile of limbs and sweat drenched bodies. He could fell his shirt sticking to his chest and arms and his boxer shorts were damp where he had tried to penetrate her earlier.
He pressed his forehead to hers as he gave a long breath of contentment and locked his lazy gaze with hers. His length was already beginning to pulse to life, but he decided to pull away instead. There was no telling when her brother would come home and kick him out. Reluctantly, he began to right his clothes and help his love, his lover, to her feet.
~end lemon~
He watched as she tugged her sweats back over her firm, rounded backside and took a deep breath in. Heart hammering in his chest, he knew that she may refuse him, but knowing her feelings had fueled his courage and his fingers ran over the small box in his pocket.
But he wasn't quick enough. Mary Frances suddenly went rigid and her eyes opened wide. "Shit!" she murmured as she bolted through the apartment to the bathroom and returned with a aerosol can of air freshener and began spraying the kitchen down with it.
Only when the two of them erupted in a fit of coughing did she stop spraying and returned the can to the bathroom. Her brown eyes finally turned to his and she asked, "Wanna go back to your place?"
He gave her a smug grin and responded, "Don't you think you should let your brother know where you're going first?"
The corner of her lip twitched into a frown and she responded, "He can kiss my ass for all I care." The expression on her face seemed cold, but being around her as long as he had, Jack knew that expression was a mask.
The man had hurt her. Jack's fist closed and began to twitch in anger before he thought better of it. He knew she could hear him speak through clenched teeth as he said, "Let's go back to my hotel and you can tell me what he did."
She nodded and answered, "I can sense that he's on his way back and I really don't feel like being here, either. You know he won't let me have anyone over?" Her eyes then turned angrily to the window. With a growl, she added, "Get this one- the asshole wants me to go back to school! DO I look like a kid to you?"
He smiled at her rant, but responded, "We'll talk about it at my hotel room, baby. Right now, I'd rather be doing something with you than punching him." He motioned to the door as he began to head toward it with her following.
She gave a wide, genuine smile as she locked the door behind them. Her mischievous eyes turned to her beloved and sparkled with delight. "You know, I haven't been this damn happy since I got here."
He pulled her into an embrace around her shoulders and began leading her down the stairs, hoping her brother would not be returning too soon. "Me too, babe, he responded as he kissed her temple. He couldn't help the tingle of excitement as he guided her to the rental car that was downstairs. The beautiful, tall woman was going to be his for the night… hopefully, for the rest of their lives.

A soft thud, too light for human ears to register, was the only sound that announced the return of the owner of the apartment. Waves of raven hair danced around the alabaster face as the cool, steel-blue eyes scanned the apartment for the offending parties.
His super-human senses told him that there was indeed something the two wanted to cover up. Tears nearly came to his eyes as he strode confidently into the kitchen. There was an overpowering scent of lavender in the air that stung his sinuses nearly to the point of tears.
The instincts of the chevalier told him that something had happened here. As he passed the counter top where the two had been only five minutes ago, he caught the distinct smell of something other than cooking.
150 years he had been alive! In all that time, he had been abused, beaten, neglected, left for dead, and humiliated, but he never even bat an eyelash. He could feel his jaw tense as his teeth ground together. In the 150 years he had walked this earth, never had he been so close to losing his temper. This girl was becoming a real problem very fast.
Kai's speech suddenly came to mind, making Hagi wonder if it was the right thing to do. After all, he wasn't a father and he had no idea how to be one. Kai, on the other hand, had raised four children to adulthood. He had to have some pretty good advice if he had gone through all that, especially with two of them being chiropteran queens like Saya. Hagi went over those words that Kai spoke after he brought Mary Frances back to Okinawa the second time.
"Hagi," the red haired man spoke as he looked off into the scene laid out before him. There were children playing finishing their baseball game at the park across the way, before they headed home for dinner. A wistful memory of youth flashed in the grey and red haired man's eyes, causing his to now sport a somewhat goofy smile.
The chevalier had not turned his gaze and Kai was not going to budge. Kai knew the chevalier was having a lot of trouble adjusting to the fact that he was a father- a father to a very will full princess. What advice he would give him now, he did not know. Hagi was a very stringent kind of person and possibly may ignore him, but he had to give this a shot- for Hagi… for Saya… and mostly, for Mary Frances.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "Hagi, Mary Frances is your daughter. Whether you want her to be yours or not does not matter anymore. Your main priority is her."
"My priority is Sa…" he began but his eyes cut to the red haired man when he was interrupted.
"Not anymore." Kai then added, "Sorry to burst your bubble, but Saya is a grown woman. She has family that supports her now. Yeah, you get to come in and do your chevalier thing, but…" He then turned to the chevalier and continued with sincerity, "But there's someone who has no one on this planet other than you- and she needs you."
In the dim light just after the sun had set, Hagi's skin seemed to glow ethereally against the midnight tresses that surrounded his face. Kai could see his jaw tense and the way his eyes narrowed. This was not going to be easy.
With a heavy sigh, Kai allowed the uncomfortable pause to settle as he sought out what he should say next. His eyes passed over the field and he finally murmured out, "You know when a guy is learning how to bat, he sometimes gets a bit scared of the ball. You'll see him purposefully miss the ball or maybe even bunt rather than try to hit the ball."
If Hagi had less self-control, he might have rolled his eyes at the analogy. Kai always used baseball for life lessons.
"Don't knock it, mister!" Kai scolded, seeming to know the chevalier's thoughts. "I'm about to give you some really good advice- so listen!" When Kai felt that his audience of one was paying attention, albeit reluctantly, he continued. "It's plainly obvious that you're scared of what Saya's gonna do when she wakes up, but that's not it. You are also scared of raising your daughter."
The chevalier's eyes opened a bit more, proving that Kai had hit the mark this time. "I get it that she's pretty much grown and all, but… I don't know… she seems… younger."
This caught Hagi's attention, causing him to turn and face him. Truth be told, he could use a bit of advice in this situation and he almost hoped that Kai would guess that Mary Frances was lying about her age as well as her identity.
Instead Kai continued, "When I was a kid, I was scared of the ball, too. One day, I got hit by a pitch and it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. The next time I was up to bat, I knocked one clear over the fence!"
He took a breath and explained, "You need to realize that parenting is not as scary as you think either. Sometimes, you gotta get hit by it to see that."
After a time, they continued to sit together. Kai was surprised when Hagi actually asked a question, "What can I do about her destructive and rebellious attitude?"
Kai smirked and responded, "When the time comes, you'll know. I had to do it with the girls, David had to do it with Michael… shoot, I had to do it with George and Riku."
Kai nearly laughed out when he caught the scowl on Hagi's face and the chevalier asked, "Do what to them exactly?"
The red-head's smirk widened when he looked at the confused chiropteran. "Do you remember when we were on the Red Shield's ship heading to Vietnam?" When Hagi nodded, he commented, "I was being very rebellious and stubborn and David straightened me out."
Hagi's eyebrows raised at this, knowing what it was that David had done to Kai on that ship, had they really done that to their own kids?
