'BOO!'
'What?'
'I'm bored.'
'So?'
'Play with me.'
'I've got better things, to do, kiddo, and let go of me.'
'C'mon, it'll be fun!'
'Shut your pie hole, girl, I can't play with you right now.'
The girl with the aforementioned pie hole pouted petulantly. Being the youngest champion in League of Legends, Annie was constantly bored out of her mind. She only had her shadow teddy bear, Tibbers, to keep her company, but he wasn't the best at conversation.
So she resorted to pestering the living hell out of the other champions.
Her taunt, 'Beaten by a little girl... Hah!' was one of the best taunt lines, right up there with Ezreal's 'You belong in a museum!' and Alistar's 'YOU CAN'T MILK THOSE!'
Her current victim was a slim girl with long braids down her back who would not have won the award for 'Piltover's Most Sane'. The girl hefted her rocket launcher. 'I've half a mind to introduce you to my friend Fishbones here.'
Maybe playing with Jinx wouldn't be fun. Usually, the blue-haired lawbreaker relished causing mayhem just as much as the Dark Child did, but she was seemingly not in the mood at that moment. The mauvish-crimson haired girl blew a raspberry in the direction of the woman and skipped away.
'I wish I was big, Tibbers. Then mean old Jinx would stop treating me like a kid.'
The teddy, or rather the pernicious spirit bear inside of the cloth, growled.
Even Zoe, who looked just as old as her, wasn't treated like a kid. Of course, she was thousands of years old, but she was only really no more than eight. She had just as much magical energy as that brat!
But Jinx was the only grown-up who put up with her antics. Jinx knew that, sometimes, it was necessary to break things. To blow things up. To burn things.
The girl pyromancer huffed and kicked at the dirt. With the exception of herself, Aurelion Sol, and Jinx, the Rift was empty. The Summoners were still in queue, and the other champions had left for their respective worlds in which they lived. Wait… that was it! The Star Forger was much more powerful than the Dark Child. He could help Annie get what she that in mind, Annie skipped off towards middle lane.
As she approached, she saw the dragon lazing back towards the fountain. 'Hello, child,' he said in his deep baritone voice.
'Hi.'
'By your eyes, I can tell that you would like my help.'
Annie hugged her bear, swaying back and forth. 'Yeah. I just need a teeny-tiny spell to make me alllll grown up.'
'And why would you need such a thing?'
The girl shook her head, but the magic that fuelled her powers ascended, responding to the pull of the magic of the great celestial, and his question was answered in a series of images, each more graphic than the last. If he was surprised, it didn't show. 'Are you certain that this is what you want? Jinx may not-'
'I know what I'm doing.'
'This is extraordinary, even for me.' Aurelion Sol shifted his body, and a sapphire-coloured scale floated from his wing. 'We magical beings have eternal life. You could wait millennia and find the one you want. Yet you choose a human, and a boorish one at that.'
The Star Forger's eyes flared with blue light when he felt a surge of magic from the child. Sure enough, Annie had summoned Tibbers, releasing him from his fluffy prison.
'Don't make me hurt you.' Annie had always had a short temper. Hearing someone belittle one of the few people she cared about was a no-no.
The ursine spirit beside her roared in agreement.
However, it was an empty threat. The dragon had tenfold the power of the child. It would not always be so. Looking into the future, Aurelion Sol caught a glimpse of a possible future. The fate of the worlds could lay at mercy under the sorceress's hands.
'Tsk.' The scale drifted towards the girl, now a deep crimson. 'Take this scale. It is only a charm for the time being, but if you manage to carry out your plan, you can make your spell permanent.'
The last part of the spell had been cast out of generosity, and the girl knew it. She grinned and threw herself around the dragon's forepaw.
Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyousomuch! I can't thank you enough!'
'You've already thanked me enough, so stop it.' Aurelion Sol groaned.
Magical potential and capability increased with age. The Dark Child already had so much energy in her it would be a shame not to see where this would lead. Knowing her propensity for mayhem, the transformation would likely provide plenty of mayhem with a side of mass destruction.
Fun.

'Gah… maybe I was too hard on the kid.' Jinx sighed. Normally, she wouldn't have cared, but the child was the only one around here who understood that a little bit of destruction was a good thing. She plopped down on her bed and started to polish Fishbones and Pow-Pow.
There was something special about that girl, but Jinx couldn't put her hand on it. It was more than just the fact that they both liked causing havoc, but at that moment half an hour ago, she'd felt something when Annie put her hand on her.
'Why is this so confusing?' She asked Pow-Pow. Her life wasn't usually confusing, and that was evident in the way she talked. She didn't try to disguise shit, because in the end, it was still shit. Just like that Yorick she'd just played with. 0 and 4 in the first ten minutes? She hadn't done that since her first game. Ever.
Jinx went downstairs and onto the street. She turned the corner and bumped into her colleague Vi. For a long while, the police force had been trying to chase her down and catch her, to stop her from blowing up everything in sight. However, the same thing over and over started to get boring, even for Jinx. One day, the Piltover Police Department had approached her with a job offer. She was asked to join Caitlyn and Vi the Criminal Apprehension Sector. At first, she was very skeptical. 'So... is my first assignment to apprehend myself?' They'd presented her with several simple contracts. If she were to sign it, she could go and blow stuff up, not get arrested and get paid for it. It was a very appealing offer. Jinx had taken a couple of days to consider, but in the end, she'd accepted. Jinx now looked at the pink-haired bruiser. 'Was' sup, fat hands?'
'Och, it's you again. Get out of here, I don't want to deal with you right now.'
Jinx winked. 'Later. Go fist Caitlyn or something.'
'Leave.'
Jinx pretended to tip the brim of a hat, and strutted off. 'Damn, that is one fine ass.'
To be honest, the people of Piltover usually weren't much to look at. The city was all about progress; there wasn't much in the direction of good-looking chicks.
Jinx walked to the public garage, and entered a code. In a couple of seconds, her Mag-Lev bike glided over to her, emitting a hydraulic hiss as it came to a stop in front of her. She hopped on.
'Gragas's Tavern,' Jinx commanded to her AI entity, Amanda, after scanning her retina for an ownership check. 'I could really use a drink.'
'Two beers and a shot of that stuff from Ionia, please.'
'Ooooh! Jinx! Jinx! You have manners!' Gragas guffawed. 'What's gotten into you?'
'Shut up, fat man.' Jinx grumbled.
'My, the last time I recall you being polite, there was someone involved...'
'Shut. Up.'
He chortled. 'Here're your drinks, girl.'
