I'm back! I don't really have an excuse for the lack of uploads, just have been busy with too many small things and couldn't bother to write if I'm honest. But here it is, chapter 4 of Longing for Freedom!
"So", Victoria said when she saw the fire pit, "Got any ideas to escape this time?"
"Eh", Jack said as he looked around sheepishly, "No."
Victoria sighed as she looked around, looking for anything that would stop them from becoming the main course of tonight's dinner. Suddenly she felt something poking her sides and Victoria giggled.
"What's so funny", Jack asked as he tried to look around and find the source of Victoria's amusement, causing Victoria to giggle only more.
"Jack. Stop it", she said.
"Stop what?", Jack asked, not understanding what was going on.
"Jack please", Victoria said as her body began shaking from laughter, "You're tickling me!"
"Am not", Jack said as he tentatively moved his hand, causing Victoria to giggle again.
"Wait, I am."
A grin appeared on Jack's face when he realised that his hand was tied to Victoria's waist and his hand began feeling around, causing Victoria to snort.
"Jack please", she said as she tried to move away from him, "Now is really not the time to feel me up."
Jack pouted but stilled his hand, "If not now when be it then?"
"When we get out of here you can tickle me all you want but not now. Savy?"
Jack sighed, "Okay, okay. But I'll keep ya to that promise."
Both Jack and Victoria were quiet for a bit, once again looking for a way to escape. Suddenly Jack snapped up his head as he got an idea.
"Victoria, luv, I got an idea", Jack said, "If we bounce enough we can hop off these poles 'hat hold us above th' fire."
"Brilliant", Victoria sighed, "Only one problem with that"
"And that'd be?"
"Your people Jack", Victoria said as she looked around and tried to count the cannibals around them, "You think your new friends will let us go like that?"
"No", Jack said as he saw one of the cannibals run over the bridge towards them, holding a torch in his hands.
"Fye. Fye!", the man shouted as he ran a circle around the firepit causing the other cannibals to break out in cheers. Just as the cannibal crouched to light the wood underneath Jack and Victoria, another cannibal ran towards them and shouted loudly while pointing in the direction where he came from,
Jack narrowed his eyes as he listened to the man.
"Jack?", Victoria asked as she tried to make any sense of what was going on.
All the cannibals turned towards Jack, as if asking him what they should do. Jack looked around for a moment, but there was no one else that would tell them what to do.
"Well, go on. Go get them! Paylala!"
"Paylala!", the cannibals repeated before they all ran off.
"Well I guess that's our cue to leave too", Victoria said as she watched the cannibals run away.
"Eh, 'Toria?', Jack said as he looked at the dropped torch, "We might 'ave a small problem."
"What?"
"Th' wood is on fire!", Jack screamed as he tried to blow out the flames, which only caused them to spread faster.
"What are you talk-", Victoria froze mid sentence as she felt a heat coming from below. Turning her head she could see the yellow flames below her and Jack.
"Jack! Bounce!", she screamed as she tried to move up and down. Both Jack and Victoria bounced up and down before they were lifted into the air and fell sideways on the ground.
"Ouch", Victoria winched as she landed on her shoulder before Jack tried to roll-over.
"Jack, for God's sake, you're lying on top of me"
"That is somethin' that I haven't heard in a long time", Jack grinned as he stretched his legs to free them.
Victoria sighed at his comment before she tried to loosen herself, but the cannibals had done a good job in tying them to the pole, she only managed to free her arms.
"Jack, I can't get free. Only my arms."
"Hold on tight then", Jack said as he stood up, Victoria dangling on his back as she tried to reach backwards and hold on to Jack. Jack then started running in the other direction as that the cannibals went, Victoria screaming as Jack carried her away.
Suddenly they stopped and Victoria looked around, on one side there was a drop down and on the other side were a few huts and a little boy that had a fork and knife clutched in his hands. Jack scurried over to him and grabbed the knife, causing the boy to run away.
"Jack. Jack!", Victoria shouted as she was jostled back and forth, "What are you doing?"
"Gettin' rid o' these bloody ropes!", Jack said before he spotted two people in front of him. He looked at the for a moment before screaming loudly and running towards them. Suddenly they came to a stop when the tip of the pole for stuck in a mountain of coconuts. Jack turned around quickly, causing the single coconut that got stuck on to fly towards the women. One of them caught it right before it would hit her in the face. Once she lowered the coconut the women glared at Jack and Victoria, coconut milk dripping from her face.
"Uh oh", Jack said before both women started to throw all kind of fruits at the pair.
"Jack", Victoria screamed as she got hit by a pineapple, "What did you do?"
"Nothin' ", Jack said as he tried to dodge the fruit, but to no avail, piece of fruit started to pile up on both sides of the pole.
"Stop it!", Jack suddenly screamed and the women froze. Then he let out a wild scream before running forwards, to a cliff, planting the tip of the pole in the ground and flipping over.
"Jaaaaack!", Victoria screamed as they sailed through the air.
With a loud thud they landed somehow on the other side of the ravine, both Jack and Victoria tried to regain their balance as they stood at the edge of the cliff.
"Jack, don't you dare...", Victoria said as she tried to lean as far as possible towards the ground, "Don't you dare to fall backwards."
Suddenly the fruit started to succumb to gravity and move downwards, a piece of papaya hit Victoria in the head.
"Ouch", she moaned before Jack lost the fight against gravity and both fell backwards.
"Aaaaah", Jack and Victoria screamed as they plunged into the ravine before the pole got stuck between the two sides of the ravine and suddenly stopped. The sudden stop caused the ropes that tied Victoria and Jack to loosen and they both fell down until there was no more rope left. Victoria looked at Jack as they were both dangling from their feet, the ground several hundred feet underneath them, along with several ropes bridges. A scratching sound made Victoria look up, the sides of the pole that were stuck between the ravine walls started to slide down.
"Bugger", Jack mumbled before they plunged towards the earth. They crashed loudly through several bridges before they fell onto the ground, Victoria on top of Jack. Jack looked at her, before something else caught his eyes, causing them to widen.
A second later the pole that they'd been tied to buried itself into the ground, only a few inches away from Jack's head.
"Well fuck", Victoria mumbled as she looked towards the pole, "That was way too close."
"Language, luv. Ladies don't talk like that", Jack said as he looked at her, then he noticed the position that they were in. Jack laying on the ground, while Victoria straddled him, "Then again, ladies don't find themselves in a position like this."
Jack pulled her down towards him and placed a soft kiss on her lips before claiming them"But I must say, I like this position. Very much."
Victoria smiled as she kissed Jack, she's missed him. In the past year she'd thought about him daily, how could she not. He was funny, witty and sometimes a bit strange, but he was one of the most honest men she had ever met.
A scream in the distance made them break apart and look in the direction of the sound. Out of the treeline a cannibal appeared, his spear drawn and he sped right towards Jack and Victoria, a loud scream as he charged at them. Then more and more cannibal started pouring out of the trees and running towards them.
"Uh oh", Jack said as he pushed Victoria off and stood up, "Time t' go."
Jack grabbed Victoria's hand and pulled them into a direction, away from the cannibals.
"Where are we going?", Victoria shouted as she tried to keep up with Jack.
"The Pearl!", Jack shouted as he saw a sandy beach appear in the distance. Running on the beach they made a sharp right turn and the Black Pearl appeared in front of them, a few crew members standing on her deck of in front of her. Victoria smiled when she noticed her brother along the men.
"Make ready to cast off", someone screamed as they neared the Pearl. The sails were cast down when Jack and Victoria reached the Pearl and they quickly climbed into the net that was hanging from the side of the Pearl. When she reached the top Victoria was pulled over the railing and enveloped in a hug. She immediately recognised her brother and threw her arms around him.
"You made it", WIll mumbled into her hair, "I was so afraid for you."
"I'm fine, Will", Victoria said as she pulled backwards to look him into the eyes, "I really am. Jack got us out of there."
Victoria looked around her but couldn't see Jack anywhere on deck, then she heard his voice coming from the side of the ship.
"Alas, my children, this is the day that you shall always remember as the day that you almost -"
A big wave splashed over Jack, cutting him off. Victoria laughed as his face, Jack looked more and more like a soaked cat.
"Cap'n Jack Sparrow", Jack finished before he glared at her, "What's so funny?"
"You", Victoria said as she extended her hand towards him and pulled him on deck, "You look like a soaked cat."
"Am not", Jack said indignantly, "I am a sparrow. Not a cat. Hate those bloody buggers. One moment they like ye the next they try t' crawl out yer eyes."
"Alright, alright", Victoria said as she kissed him on his cheek, "You look like a soaked sparrow. Better?"
"Much", Jack said, kissing her forehead.
"Let's put some distance between us and this island and head out t' open sea", Gibbs said as he walked towards them.
"Yes t' the first, yes t' the second, but only insofar as we keep t' the shallows as much as possible", Jack said as he started walking towards the helm, wrapping both himself and Victoria in a big blanket that Pintel and Ragetti handed to him.
"That seems a bit contradictory, Cap'n."
"I 'ave every faith in your reconciliatory navigational skills Master Gibbs", Jack said, before turning towards Victoria.
"Now I believe we were busy discussing something earlier before we interrupted. Twice", Jack said as he pulled Victoria into his arms and lowered his face to hers.
"Jack. Elizabeth is in danger", Will said as he walked towards them.
Jack sighed as he heard Will, "Can't they see I'm a bit busy", he grumbled as he placed a kiss on Victoria's forehead, before turning towards Will.
"We'll continue this later luv, duty calls."
A/N As always, thanks for reading :)
