The Following Day:
"I can't wait to see you again." Mei stated as she kissed Naruto one last time before she left to head back to the Hidden Mist.
"Neither can I." Naruto responded as they broke the kiss.
"Here take this necklace it will allow us to stay in touch." Naruto said as he handed her a necklace.
"I look forward to hearing about your team and sensei tonight then." Mei said as she gave Naruto one last peck on the lips and followed her brother through the Leaf village gate.
Five minutes later Ninja academy:
"Team 19 will consist of Neji Hyuga, Rock Lee, and Tenten. Your Sensei will be Might Guy." Iruka stated. Neji, Lee, and Tenten got up and walked out of the classroom.
A/N: Can't remember what Team number they where so I just gave them 19.
"Finally Team 20 will consist of Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, Sasuke Uchiha, and Yoruichi Uzuki. Your Sensei will be Obito Uchiha and is waiting for you on the roof.
A/N: This is where I left off a while back since then my writing style has changed pretty heavily sorry for anyone that finds this frustrating.
Naruto grabbed Sasuke and Yoruichi on the shoulder and Shunshined them to the roof leaving a few leaves behind in the classroom where they saw Obito waiting with an eyebrow raised. "So Naruto can transport himself and his teammates using the Shunshin very impressive for a Genin." Obito thought in his head as he motioned them all to sit down. "Well how about we start with introductions? I am Obito Uchiha my likes are the village, training with Kakashi, and hanging out with Rin. My dream is to become Hokage." Obito stated as he motioned to Yoruichi to start. "I am Yoruichi Uzuki my likes are my sister Yugao, working on my kenjutsu, and developing my lightning Ninjutsu. My dream is to become the strongest Kunoichi in the Leaf Village." Yoruichi states as Obito then motions to Sasuke. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha my likes are my clan, working on my fire Ninjutsu, and training with my big brother Itachi. My dream is to become the strongest shinobi in the history of my clan without falling down a darker path." Sasuke explains before Obito motions to Naruto. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki my likes are my siblings, Lady Tsunade, and training. My dream is to…." Naruto had to stop even though he spent all this time training his only real goal was to receive recognition from his father and mother and had never had a goal outside of that. "I guess to become strong enough to take care of the people I care about." Naruto finished after a moments pause. "Well I will see you all tomorrow morning at training ground three." Obito stated as he disappeared to report to the Hokage.
A/N: Yoruichi know thinks of Yugao as more of a sister than a cousin thus the change to this. Naruto doesn't refer to Tsunade as his mother because he knows Obito will think that he is talking about Kushina.
Hokage's office a few minutes later:
Obito knocked on the door to the Hokage's office. "Come in." He heard from the other side of the door. Obito opened the door and stepped inside to find Minato at his desk with Kushina standing next to him. "Ah Obito so what do you think of your new team?" Kushina asked excitingly Obito smiled always having had a very good relationship with Kushina. "They seem to be very driven with Yoruichi and Sasuke having very clear goals, but Naruto's goal is very troubling unlike Sasuke or Yoruichi who both want to become strong to obtain a position but Naruto only wants to get strong to protect those he loves and even that answer I'm not sure about since it took him some time to think of it." Obito explained as Kushina and Minato stared at each other knowingly. "Well that would probably be our fault." Said Kushina breaking the awkward moment of silence in the room. "Why would that be Kushina-sama?" Obito asked.
A/N: From know on I am going to try to use the Japanese honorifics.
"We didn't train Naruto or support him when he was younger so he trained himself to try to get us to notice him, but we never did until recently and know he is to far along in his shinobi training for us to teach him most of our techniques so in doing so his original goal was just to receive recognition from us which he never did." Kushina explains as she and Minato have an ashamed look on their face. "I see well I guess it's my job to help him find his goal as sensei. Also you should know that Naruto can use Shunshin very proficentley even moving his teammates with him." Obito reasons as he moved toward the exit having made the best report he could at the time. "Obito please keep Kushina and I informed of Naruto's progression we may not deserve it but we want to know how our son is doing." Minato states before Obito could exit the room. "I will do what I can sensei, but my students will always come first to me." Obito explained as he left the chamber.
A/N: I know this was a short chapter but this is to try and get me back on the move with this story. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Also should Naruto remain in the Leaf or eventually go to the mist with Mei I can make either work for the story so please just let me know.
