Chapter 5: Trapped

Paul couldn't help but laugh watching the new girl take her first step into the room and fall straight into the first trap. He balanced himself on the edge of the trap leaning just far enough over the edge so that if he took one wrong step he would fall in too. After walking a good distance around the trap, he settled down on the edge letting his legs dangle against the side of the trap's wall.

He just silently laughed watching the girl's crazy and pointless attempt to escape the trap. She was just adorably short, her height would make it impossible for her to get out of the trap on her own. It's the perfect opportunity to talk to her without her running away again.

After her failed attempt, he decided to make his presence known.

"You almost had it."

Did I just hear that? Sin questioned herself because there was a slight chance her mind was playing tricks on her. It wouldn't be the first time she was hearing disembodied voices.

That just mean. How many times do I have to keep saying it, I'm your guardian angel! Whined Bun-Bun from inside her bag.

Standing up she dusted herself off again before shouting into the dark. "Can you help me?"

"It depends." Replied a playful male voice.

I knew I wasn't imagining things. Squinting her eyes, she tried to spot the source of the voice. Normally she could see really well at night but the lack of moonlight vastly limited her sight to an arm's length from her body. But like Desmond says 'when one sense dulls, another heightens.' Now she just needed to figure out where the voice had come from over the loud music. And what better way than to have a conversation?

"Depends on what?"

"What's your name?"

The question surprised her, she more than half expected some dirty request.

"I'm Emily, and you are?" The name was a lie, but its not like he would know that. She was a really good liar when it came to answering strangers' questions about her name, age and location of her house. Crossing her arms she waited for the guy to reply.

"I'm… a handsome stranger. Are you sure you're not lying about your name?" The guy replied in an amused tone. She couldn't help but laugh at his response.

The guy must have heard her laugh because he started laughing too. His laugh sounded like a nice cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day, it warmed her insides just listening to it. Taking a few steps to her right, she noticed the laugh was fainter. That meant the guy was on her left somewhere. She needed to get him to continue talking so she could find him.

"Why would I lie about my name?"

"Because you don't trust me. Or maybe you're just naturally paranoid of handsome strangers." The voice was right in front of her. Running her hand lightly against the wall she brushed against a sandy shoe. Following the direction of the shoe her hands glided up until she came in contact with some type of rough fabric. The fabric shifted under her hands as the guy laughed above her. Gotcha ya!

"Hahaha, stop that tickles. So do you want my help or not?"

"Yes." Wrapping her hands around the guy's leg she pulled.

"Ow. Why'd you do that?" The stranger laughed a little while he rubbed the back of his head lightly. She had tricked him but he was far from upset, he was amused by her actions.

"You offered your help, did you not. Now hold still..." She reached out to the guy patting down his body until her hands found his shoulders.

Leaning towards the wall she used her hands to judge the distance between the stranger's shoulders and the floor. His warm breath tickled her chest... wait... what?! Sin jumped back but the stranger grabbed her waist causing her to straddle him. She squirmed uncomfortably at the unwanted position and tried to push away from him but he caught her wrists in an iron-clad grip.

"Let go." Growled Sin between clenched teeth, she pulled her hands as hard as she could to no effect. Her whole body tensed when the stranger lifted one of her hands close to his face, his hot breath against her skin sent cold shivers down her spine. He turned her palm upward and briefly brushed his warm lips against her exposed wrist.

"Why do you smell so sweet?" the guy mumbled against her wrist before he nuzzle his face into her hand. She could feel the scruffiness of his face as he rubbed against her hand like a satisfied kitten being petted.

"I said...LET GO!" Sin head butted the guy causing him to release her. The impact forced her to tumble off backwards from the guy's lap, damn the guy had a rock hard head! Still reeling from the impact she was caught off guard even more when the guy started to laugh.

Quick as a flash the guy picked her up bridal-style while still laughing.

"You can put that away. I'm not going to hurt you." Said the guy in between his little laughing fit. His words did nothing to loosen her tight grip on the knife pressed against his throat.

Be on guard Sin but please try not to kill this pervert in a children's attraction, warned Bun-Bun.

The guy sighed a little before lifting her up and placing her on the edge pf the trap. Keeping her eyes on the guy's vague outline she moved away from the edge slowly as he lifted himself out of the trap. The two stood there for a while listening to the lyrics from an Aerosmith song before she decided to take another step back.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you~" the guy walked closer to her making her take another quick step back to maintain their distance.

"Why?"

"Because one more step and you'll fall into another hole."

Taking his warning into consideration she carefully slide one foot behind her to feel the floor vanish. When she turned her attention back to the guy, he was gone. Now where the fudge did he disappear to?

"Boo~!" The guy was standing directly behind her! Jumping out of her skin, her body automatically reacted to his scare and she felt the knife connect with something.

"Stop being such a scaredy cat. Look up~" The guy pointed up to the ceiling and for the first time she noticed the faint glowing checkerboard tiles. The painted pattern was similar to the ground except certain areas were painted red instead of green. "If you stay in the green areas, you'll be good."

On a scale of 1 to 10, she felt slightly bad (probably about a 1.5) for attacking the guy when he was helping her out. Then again he did almost sexually assault her earlier and was being an uber creep for scaring the shit out of her.

At least have a tad more remorse for your actions, my dear.

"Are you okay?" she quietly questioned the stranger.

"I'm good. Barely a scratch on me, except for that goose egg you gave me from your little trick earlier. Now come on, let's get out of here." He grabbed her wrist pulling her down the safe path until they reached the other side of the room. He briefly let go of her hand to push against a section of the wall revealing a staircase. "Ladies first~"

Cautious about his sudden change in attitude she took a step onto the stairs before pausing. If she was going to have the pervert behind her then she might as well put on her hoodie. Untying the hoodie from around her waist she slipped her bag off and put the hoodie back on slipping one of her knives into the front pocket.

When they reached the top of the stairs there was a simple balcony overlooking the Boardwalk. Craving the open air after going through two hellish rooms Sin skipped forward leaving the guy behind. Once she stepped onto the balcony a bright flashing light momentarily blinded her. Surprised she leaned against the wall blinking like crazy trying to rid herself of the purple-blue spots.

"Sorry, did I forget to mention the flashing lights? My bad, girl." The guy grabbed her hand again pulling her towards the other side of the balcony. His pace didn't falter as the lights continued flashing at random angles blinding her even more.

When they reached the other end of the balcony he pulled her down to a slide chute before pushing her. The ride down was more twisty then she would've thought, how the heck do they even make a slide with that many turns? Landing in a mesh netting she groaned when she heard the guy hooting as he made his way down the slide after her.

You might want to move off to the side unless...

Unless what?

You want to be squished by some random guy.

Good point. Rolling to her right just in time she bounced into the air slightly from the guy's sudden impact causing her to roll back towards the guy and bump into his side. Pushing herself away from him she felt a tug on her hair. Following the strands of hair with her fingers she looked at the good coin chain her hair got caught in. Great... now I'm stuck to gold coin buy here. Wait... gold coins...!

"Need help? ❤" Paul smirked at her, his blue eye reflecting his amusement.

"Paul."

"That's my name~ Now Emily, how about you tell me your real name." Paul rolled on top of her catching her hands in his. She relaxed her body sinking into the netting so she wasn't directly pressed against his body.

"My name is Emily." She glared up at him, daring him to do something.

Paul chuckled leaning down to her ear before whispering a low husky voice, "You don't seem like an Emily. You girl are much too feisty to be a plain old Emily. So what's your name?"

"It's Em-" Paul cut her off with a kiss. He slowly savored the lemony flavor of her lips until she was struggling against him demanding for air. When he parted from her his blue eyes glazed over slightly with a hunger he hasn't felt in a long time. He glanced down at her half expected to see a satisfied flush on her face, but was greeted with a pair of golden-green glaring eyes.

"Sin. My name is Sin. Now get off of me!"

Satisfied with her answer, Paul let her go. She scrambled back away from him wiping the taste of cigarette smoke from her mouth. Making her way off the netting she flipped him before storming off back to the Boardwalk.

Paul just leaned back against the netting grinning like an idiot, he repeated her name to the night air. Sin... it's a Sin to be that beautiful.

Lol I know that's a cheesy thing for Paul to say but that's just what came to find as I was typing it out earlier. As you can see Sin really doesn't like Paul right now, but nothing is ever permanent ~ :3 well I hope everyone enjoyed this update. Two new friends I met recently kinda influenced me a lot because I'm a serious noob when it comes to romantic-ish stuff unless yandere stalkers count (it really doesn't count, right?)
