Long time no see everyone! I'm BACK! (cue evil laughter) Seriously though, I apologize that it took so long to update.

I do not own Harry Potter, and I wish to thank J.K Rowling for allowing us fanfic writers to play with her characters and the wonderful world she created.

Without further ado...

Chapter 3)

The following day the Grangers headed for King's Cross Station, and went through the wall between 9 and 10. Tom, the barman, had told them how to get to Platform 9 ¾.

Nico pulled her aside. "I shall write to you everyday." He promised.

"Good, you can tell me all about Hogwarts." She smiled up at him.

"Of course. Don't go falling in love with any boys."
Hermione laughed. "Whatever Nico. Don't fall for any girls!" She teased.

"Why would I fall for any girls? I have you."

"I have no idea what you just said." She laughed. He kissed her forehead.

"I'll see you for Christmas."

"See you."

Nico hugged his mother and father, and boarded the train. He found an empty compartment, and put his trunk up above. He let Nagini out, and let her wrap around his shoulders and neck, sticking his head out of the window.

Hermione and his parents were waving at him.
"Bye Nico, See you at Christmas!" Hermione yelled.

"Enjoy yourself son!" John yelled.

"Make friends!" Elaine yelled.

"See you at Christmas, Hermione,Mum, Dad!" He yelled, keeping a hand firmly on Nagini so she didn't fly off of him. He pulled in once the train began to leave. The trolley came by, and he got some snacks off of it.

Hogwarts was beginning again.

He had work to do.

He reached the castle, and put Nagini back in her cage. He grabbed his trunk and headed out to the boats. That large oaf, Hagrid, was calling for first years. It was hard to believe he got a job here when he himself had been refused. He supposed it was just that old coot's doing. If it hadn't been for Dumbledore, he would have most likely been given the Defense position. Then he could have gotten more on his side, raised a new generation of Dark Wizards from a young age and taken over the Wizarding World from the inside. It probably would have taken longer, but there wouldn't have been as many deaths.

Soon he found himself inside the Great Hall, his occlumency shields up high and unbreakable. The only thoughts that would be seen were worries of his classes, Hermione, and thoughts any average student would have. Soon, they called "Granger, Niccolo."

He walked up and sat down on that stool like he had so long ago as Tom Marvolo Riddle. He sat down, facing the crowd as Minerva Mcgonagall-who he still remembered from school-set the Sorting Hat upon his head.

He was quiet as the Hat went through his memories as 'Niccolo', humming to itself.

"Loyal-at least to your sister..Intelligent, so Ravenclaw wouldn't be a bad fit...but hm..Cunning and ambitious aren't you? Then it should be-Slytherin!" The Hat yelled, and Nico jumped off the stool and headed for the Slytherin table, which was clapping politely-while also jeering.

He mentally rolled his eyes at this, as he found an empty spot.

The Slytherins were not happy that they had a MudBlood (or so they thought, He wasn't going to dispute them though) in their House. He was going to be bored out of his mind though-at least until Hermione joined Hogwarts. Then at least he would have her around. He knew the chances of her being Slytherin was slim, but perhaps Ravenclaw? If he was honest to himself, he could admit that she would fit in well with the Gryffindor-though he shuddered to think of what that would do to their relationship.

He decided early that he would stand out to much, and made himself to be as average as possible, only allowing himself to get Acceptables and Exceed Expectations.

Minerva, he found, was a fair but strict teacher who had no time for nonsense. Personally, he thought she had some sense of humor, as she had a tendency to wait in cat form for late students, who, only seeing a cat, would believe they had gotten away with their tardiness, then transform back. He began to play around with the usefulness of the skill, and decided that he and Hermione would become Animagus. Severus, on the other hand, seemed convinced everyone was a complete and utter moron (or 'dunderhead' as he referred to them), although Slytherin was clearly favored. He treated Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff fairly enough, but had complete contempt for Gryffindor. His Defense Against the Dark Arts was a decent enough teacher, although prone to panic attacks. Considering the curse he had put on that position, he wasn't expecting him to last long. Charms was a short Ravenclaw wizard named Flitwick who looked part goblin.

The first part of the school year went by fairly quickly. He got decent grades, made friends with his fellow Slytherin, went to every Quidditch game where Slytherin played, and sent letter via owl to Hermione and his parents.

So, that's the end of the chapter, hopefully the next one won't take so long.

Long Live the House of Slytherin (what House you in?)

Ciao.
