The girl, Anh Thư, carries her belongings and follows Ryo, leaving her mother behind in the hotel room.

The man leads her to his family dojo, South Town's Kyokugen-ryu Karate dojo. Today, Ryo has not opened it yet. With all the troubles he is about to face, he intends to not open it for the day. The Karateka suddenly hears a young female voice: "You found a new student?"

It is a young woman in traditional Japanese clothes standing at the entrance of his dojo. Kasumi Todoh, one of Ryo's acquaintance. Their relationship is a bit complicated. She is hostile to him, blames him for her father leaving. He considers her an interesting rival without caring about her hostility. For the past year, Kasumi has been living in this dojo, despite her grudge against the Sakazaki. She says that she wants to watch closely how Kyokugen-ryu Karatekas fight, so that she would neutralize every existing technique of the style that shamed her father. Despite this, Ryo allows her to stay, he is a martial art maniac and considers an evolving opposing style would help him advance his skills. Furthermore, Todoh family's Jujutsu is a gentle art, completely different from his fierce Karate and his wife's agile Muay Thai, there is nothing that can make him happier than having such a unique fighter among his sparring partners.

"Is this your wife? She's quite young.", Thư asks her father.

Kasumi hears what the child says. Her face turns red, and she angrily glances at the little girl.

"No, she is not.", Ryo answers the child, then turns to Kasumi. "She is not a student. I will explain in a moment."

The Karateka continues walking to the dojo, and Kasumi and Anh Thư follow. The three pass the training hall, into the dining room of the Sakazaki household. Ryo then points at the table where his family has been taking meals everyday, asking them to stay there and wait for him. Ryo then goes to his room, where his wife, King, and their youngest daughter are, and another room where King's brother lives. He tells them to go to the dining room and he has something to discuss.

In the small dining room, there are six people: Ryo, his wife King and their one-month old daughter Rose, King's younger brother Jan, Kasumi and Anh Thư. Nobody knows what Ryo wants to say, however they can sense something is troubling the usually fearless Karateka. They also wonder why there is a little girl joining their conversation.

Ryo suddenly bows on his knees and says to King while lowering his head:

"I am sorry to ask you this, but please allow me to take care of this girl."

Everyone is even more surprised by this sudden demand. The Sakazaki is a family of martial art tradition, taking a child in shouldn't be such a big fuss. Kasumi and Jan wonder if this man has caught up with his father's senile antics, despite his young age.

"If you want to take this girl in as your disciple, you don't have to ask me.", King says while trying to subdue the urge to laugh at her husband.

Ryo sees that he has failed at explaining the situation to his family. The Karateka tries to elaborate, however he cannot find the expression he needs. This man has devoted his entire life for martial arts, he does not know how to deal with this kind awkward social conversations.

"Just like mother said, you are such a clumsy man.", Anh Thư suddenly raises her voice.

King and Kasumi, as experienced martial artists, have been wondering who is this girl that Ryo wants to take in the Kyokugen-ryu dojo. Their attention immediately turns to her.

"Let me introduce myself.", Anh Thư says as she notices that everyone is looking at her. "I am Bùi Thị Anh Thư. I am the daughter of Ryo Sakazaki of Kyokugen-ryu Karate."

King, Kasumi and Jan cannot believe what this little girl just reveals. King has been closed to Ryo for years, spending tremendeous efforts to make this densed Karate enthusiast to realize her feelings. She could never have imagined her husband to have a child this old. Kasumi and Jan have always considered Ryo to be a dull man with no interest in women, they still think his marriage with King was out of character.

While King is still in confusion, Kasumi cannot control her anger. King may be the wife of her rival, but she is also one of her former teammates, Kasumi considers this woman to be a friend and sister. The Japanese girl starts interrogating the husband:

"Who is this girl? Who is her mother? What is your relationship with that woman?"

Ryo starts telling the story of seven years ago, when he first met Luan, how they fought against the rogue Hizoku assassins, and that fateful night when they intercoursed. The explanation should be focused about his relationship with Luan the assassin, but Ryo talks about those details lightly and spends more time analysing her and the other Hizoku's martial arts. This style of story-telling from Ryo makes the others both annoyed and entertained, they wonder if it is because this man is too much of a martial art fanatic or that he is too shamed to talk about these details.

King lets out a long sigh, her face shows a bit disappointment, but no anger. She says:

"If it happened 7 years ago, we were not dating and it would be unreasonable of me to be angry at you for sleeping with another woman back then."

"Are you sure about this, sis?", Jan asks. "Don't you have anything else to say to brother-in-law?"

"What do you want me to say?", King replies. "What happened has already happened. None of us had confessed our love for each other 7 years ago, he was free to have romantic relationship with anyone he wanted. I cannot blame him for what he did at that time, I also have no right to stop him from taking responsible for his own child."

"Talking about the child, I know that it sounds insensitive, how can you be so sure that she is this man's daughter?", Kasumi says while pointing at Anh Thư.

Anh Thư suddenly raises her left hand and pulls an amount of hair off her head. She then shows it to Kasumi while saying: "If you think I'm not his child, you know what to do."

King, Kasumi and Jan are surprised at how mature this little girl is. They would never imagine a kid her age could act so decisively and thoroughly. King thinks: "This girl has been following her assassin mother for so many years. Growing up in such harsh environments, her mentality and maturity is not that of an ordinary kid."

Kasumi slowly pulls her finger back. The Jujutsuka realizes something, that although this girl looks much more delicate than the brute that is her supposed father, that fierce look of her eyes is exactly the same as Kasumi's rival, Ryo Sakazaki. She starts to think that this girl may actually be Ryo's daughter, however as a traditional martial artist, she is taught not to be hesitated in any situation. She collects Anh Thư's hair, and in a sudden movement, she quickly cuts Ryo's hair using the edge of her hand.

Kasumi wraps the girl's hair in a piece of white cloth, and Ryo's in a piece of red cloth. She then gives it to Jan, implying that he should bring these samples to a DNA testing service, as he is the younger brother of King.

Ryo has been waiting for the others to end their discussion, the situation was so awkward that he did not want to raise his voice. He was surprised at how much of a coward he was in something not related to fighting. He says to his wife:

"Thank you for understanding my situation."

"You don't have to thank me.", King replies. "But please, let me alone to think about this for a while."

The Muay Thai woman turns away and carries her daughter back to her room without saying another word.

"Then I will sleep at the guest room tonight.", Ryo says. It is not his most desired outcome, however the Karateka thinks to himself that this problem was solved easier than he expected. He turns to the young girl: "I'll show you aunt Yuri's room. It will be your room for now."

Jan waits for the King, Ryo and Anh Thư to be out of sight, he then talks to Kasumi: "I'll see if this girl is really his daughter. But, I don't know. It is a mess!"

The boy also turns away in a hurry, leaving Kasumi behind, still wondering how could that Karate brute suddenly turn into a lady-killer.
