Guys, I fucking did it! I outlined this whole fucking book. Like chapter by chapter. Like there is no way I won't finish this book by the end of this year unless I have no motivation or die. But like...I can confirm this book will be a total of 16 chapters...like WTF dudes. Sorry for my language but like...I'm so proud of myself.

Anyways, enjoy!

The Kent Apartment

Diana hums to the Greek music that plays from the phonograph that Kal had gotten her a few months ago. It wasn't the ancient music of her people but it was enough to connect Diana to her culture, remind her of a home that she missed dearly. Diana then grabs the saucepan and flips the pancake into the pan.

"You're getting dangerously good at that," Kal says sitting at the breakfast counter and messing with the camera Jimmy had lent him. His chest was bare and his skin glowing as the rays of the rising sun hit his back.

"I had a good teacher." Diana smiles as she takes the pancake out of the pan and pours batter into the pot for another. "Is six good or do you need more?"

Diana turns to Kal and the flash of the camera goes off. Kal then looks at the camera screen and smiles as he captures the beauty of his wife. The way Diana's dark hair captures the sunlight and runs down her shoulders and back. The way his shirt falls over Diana's curvy body but gets caught and frames her chest, hips, and ass could make any man hot.

"Kal." Diana sings getting her husband's attention.

"Yes, my love?" Kal asks finally looking up at his wife and then at the stack of pancakes made for him. "I'm sorry, you're just so distracting."

"I was asking if this was enough for you," Diana repeats kindly. "Is Jimmy teaching you photography?"

"That's enough, Di, thank you," Kal says. "Yeah, he is. He's very good at it. If I can lighten the load when we're working then I will. Lois seems to be very demanding and I'd rather not listen to Jimmy get yelled at."

"Isn't she in the same position as you?" Diana asks, turning off the stove and looking at her husband. "Is Richard White not your boss?'

"He is." Kal sighs. "It's complicated and not worth ruining our morning."

Kal then grabs the camera quickly and takes another photo of Diana, for once catching his majestic wife off guard.

"Kal!" Diana chuckles trying to cover her face at the continued flashes that her husband gives her. "Is this what Jimmy does all the time? I see why he gets yelled at."

"But unlike Jimmy, these photos aren't being shared." Kal reminds Diana. "For my eyes only. Now, pose for me, Diana."

"Kal, I don't know how to pose," Diana tells Kal, scrunching her nose and putting her hands on her hips, Kal takes the photo.

"Well, I'd say you're a natural." Kal compliments his wife and continues to take photos of his wife as she moves through the kitchen, At times, Kal zooms in on Diana's face, capturing the ever-blinding smile on her face, the flush of her cheeks, the softness of her lips and the seductive curves on her neck and the rest of her body.

As Diana finishes cooking, she places a plate of pancakes in front of Kal. Before Diana can walk away, Kal grabs Diana's hand and brings it to his lips, kissing her knuckles softly and thanking her for breakfast.

"I'll be covering the Met tonight, Richard is letting us out early to prep for the event," Kal says as she takes a bite of the pancakes. "I can meet you early, help set up, and meet your co-workers if you'd like."

"I would love that, Kal," Diana says softly as she takes a sip of water and then puts the cup down. Then, Diana leaves the kitchen walks to the bedroom, and returns with a black box. Kal's mind instantly goes to the ring his mother gave him for Diana. He still hasn't given it to her yet, he's waiting for the right moment. "You can't tell anyone we're showing this piece no matter if it gives you a promotion, Kal."

"Di, you know me." Kal reminds Diana to which she nods. "What is it?"

Diana places the box on the counter and opens the box, a chain of gold with a purple stone set in the middle of it.

"What?" Kal asks shocked and looking at Diana. "How did the Met get this? Diana, you hid this here? Why isn't it in a safe?"

"Kal, my love," Diana calls out to her husband. "Too many questions."

Diana then answers her husband's questions one at a time. The Heart of Ares was an object lost to time. Scholars have speculated that it was an object of great protection from harm for the one who wore it. Legend says when Ares had seen Aphrotide for the first time and spent the night with her when the Sun rose the next day, he'd found Hephaestus and had him forge the necklace out of Ares's own heart. This person who holds Ares's Heart holds the outcome of War and is protected from all danger and torment that comes with War.

Diana then informs Kal about the underground trading of artifacts within the Metropolis. Etta entrusted this piece to Diana, no one would look for the item at the house of the assistant. If anyone did try to take it from Diana, they'd be met with a whole world of pain that Etta had not known of. In truth, this item was the safest item in the world.

"You'll wear it tonight?" Kal asks looking at the necklace and then at his wife. "I would look stunning on you, my love."

"Etta asked but I don't want to draw attention to myself," Diana says looking at the necklace and then back at her husband who is smirking at her. "What?"

"You draw attention no matter what you wear, Di." Kal reminds his wife which has Diana smiling at rolling her eyes.

"It was my first time at a nightclub." Diana defends herself. "How was I to know that dancing with other women would allow other men to touch and gaze upon me so freely?"

"It doesn't," Kal says sternly and stands, walking closer to his wife, his hands resting on her hips and his lips to her ear. "Exactly why I told those men to back off and then took you home that night and made you my own once more."

"Hmm." Diana ponders and wraps her arms around her husband's neck. "I don't remember anything from that night or anything after."

"Oh really?" Kal asks, his teeth grazing Diana's earlobe. "Do you need a reminder?"

"Yes." Diana teases. "And most likely more than one."

Kal chuckles and then pushes Diana against the counter and reminds his wife that he is her husband.

The Daily Planet

"You're late, Kent," Richard says walking past his cubical, a heavy thud hitting his plastic desk with a stack of papers that Clark no doubt had to review and edit by the end of the day.

"Sorry, Mr. White," Clark responds automatically, not looking at his boss. Clark reaches into his bag, pulls out the picture frame, and places it on his desk.

"Woah, who is that babe?" Jimmy asks taking the frame from Clark's desk and looking at the photo.

"My wife," Clark says calmly slightly annoyed that Jimmy touched his items, especially the photo of his wife.

It wasn't an intimate photo of his wife that he took this morning. It was after they had their multiple rounds of fun that Clark finally let Diana out of bed and shower. When she'd gotten dressed for the day, Clark took a photo of Diana in her work clothes.

"Oh that's right you are married!" Jimmy shouts which gains the attention of Lois and Kat who are or rather were engaged in a conversation. "She's a total knockout dude. I'm proud of you." Jimmy holds his hand out to give back to Clark but another hand grabs the frame and Clark sighs.

"Aw, this is your wife?" Kat smiles as she looks at the photo and then back at Clark. "I see why you're late to work." That comment makes Clark blush.

"She seems out of your league Smallville," Lois comments looking at the photo. "You couldn't have met a girl like that in a small town."

"She's from Greece," Clark says finally getting the photo of Diana back at setting it on his desk.

"Oh, make sense," Lois says to which Clark ignores the comment, he doesn't have time to play games with her.

"You gotta bring her around, man," Jimmy suggests. "Maybe she could bring her hot Greek friends."

Clark chuckles at that, knowing that even if Diana did bring her sisters to Metropolis, the last thing on their minds would be finding a man, let alone speaking with Jimmy.

"She works at the Met so she'll be at the event," Clark replies proudly as he thinks about his wonderful wife. "You can meet her then."

"The Met?" Lois questions once more tilting her head at Clark. "Can she comment on the stolen artifacts from the past few months?"

"She knows nothing about them," Clark replies sternly, wanting to protect Diana from any questions that Lois may have that don't pertain to actual news, she was a bloodhound and Diana had a temper that she needed to work on. "You could try getting an interview with Etta Candy but I nor Diana could help you with that."

"Lovely." Lois sighs and rolls her eyes.

The crowd then dispurses from Clark's desk and they get back to work. Clark reads over the many reports of stolen artifacts from Museums nationwide. All heists seem to be coordinated attacks at night, with security systems turned off. Every guard on duty that night cannot remember the attack, only recalling the smell of roses before the incident and then after waking up on the floor.

These burglaries have tightened museum security, especially at the Metropolis Museum of Art. Clark is relieved about that, not wanting any harm coming to his wife or any of her co-workers. Clark did care for the art as well but his first instinct was to always think about his wife and better ways to protect her.

Clark understood why Etta trusted Diana with the precious necklace but it still worried Clark. With these attacks being coordinated and precise, it made Clark wonder if the Mueseums were being monitored in the morning as well as if they started to follow the worker's routines. But Clark knows that Diana is more aware of her surroundings than he is, if Diana had ever felt in danger she would have told handled the issue and informed Clark.

Clark's thoughts are interrupted as the multiple television screens change to Gotham City, covering a chase between Gotham City's Protector Batman, and men that are allegedly connected to Scarecrow. It's not long before Lois, Jimmy, and Chloe are dashing through the office and no doubt off to the van to cover the story.

Clark turns his attention back to reading the articles.

The Metropolis Museums

"If you so much as breathe on that painting I will have your head!" Julia warns the movers as they carefully pick up a Van Gogh and place it on the wall.

Diana and Barbara Minerva stand behind Julia checking off every piece that comes into the exhibit. This has been their job for the past week leading up to the Gala tonight. Tonight was important not only for the city but for Diana and Barbara as well, as their names would be on the exhibit as coordinators.

Diana never imagined that this would be her life, that she would leave her island, get married to a man, and work with artifacts from all around the world. Though Diana missed picking up a sword and training with her sisters, there was this sort of normalcy that surrounded Kal and she fell into it softly.

"Is Clark coming tonight?" Barbara asks, texting away on her personal phone.

"Yes," Diana replies enthusiastically. "He working tonight but I hope that it won't be too busy."

"You don't get enough alone time with him at home?" Barbara teases and Diana blushes.

"Not the point, Barbara." Diana reminds her friend who continues to smile at Diana. "I haven't met his colleagues nor him mine. We have to be professional in front of everyone."

"Well…" Barbara turns to look at the next piece of art filling the room. "If there is a chance that you two would like a moment alone, just text me and I'll handle your work from there."

"Barbara, we can handle our–"

"Ladies." Etta Candy says walking into the room and looking at the walls. "This looks lovely, the West Wing is finished now we need those centerpieces. You both have your pieces, yes?"

Both women nod in response.

"Good, they won't come out til the very end of the night."

"We aren't following the schedule you email us?" Barbara asks Diana, catching a hint of nervousness and worry in her voice.

"No," Etta says firmly. "Not with the recent attacks on Meusums. We've added three times the security and we've passed it off as having important guests in attendance which we are but this is about the art. I've texted you both new codes for the items, your safes have been reset so the previous codes won't work. I'll inform you when they're to be present. Good?"

"Yes, Ma'am," Diana replies and Barbara pauses for a moment before agreeing.

The Met Gala 1st floor

Clark fixes his tie once more in the Daily Planet van that is parked in the back of the Met. He was supposed to arrive early to help Diana but she called early and informed him that the Museum wasn't taking outside help which made sense. In truth, he wanted to see his wife but somehow Clark knew the prolonged wait of seeing his wife would pay off in the end.

"You clean up nice, Smallville," Lois tells him.

"Is that a compliment from Lois Lane?" Clark teases. "Jimmy, get the camera rolling, I need to capture this moment."

"Very funny." Lois sighs rolling her eyes and hands each of them their press passes.

The group of reports then made it to the side entrance of the museum. They flash their passes, show a Photo ID, and after a long screening process are let inside the building. Clark and Jimmy take a moment to admire the Museum. Clark loved history, art, and culture and the Met was one of his favorite Museums to visit. A certain pride flooded his veins as he sees the name Diana Kent on the brochure from the event. Diana was settling into the world, establishing herself and Clark couldn't be more proud.

As the event starts the building fills and the press grows with more guests that stroll into the event. A massive uproar occurs when Bruce Wayne steps out of his limo, waves to the crowd, and flashes that Playboy smile that makes all of America swoon.

To Clark's surprise, Bruce Wayne walks towards Jimmy, Lois, and him.

"Mr. Wayne," Jimmy says and reaches out his hand to which Bruce Wayne shakes firmly. "It's an honor to meet you, Sir."

"Come On, James." Bruce Wayne says calmly. "Do you think I'd forget the man who took the best photo of me at the Gotham City Charity Foundation? You know my angles."

"Thank You, Mr. Wayne," Jimmy replies and smiles.

"Ms. Lane." Bruce Wayne acknowledges.

"Bruce," Lois says coldly which has Clark eyeing Lois and then looking at Bruce Wayne. It was clear that they'd met before but their encounters may have not been so friendly. Clark knew Lois was tough when doing interviews but Clark thought that Bruce Wayne would have a distance from Lois, not the other way around.

"You're not still mad about the–"

"No." Lois bites almost loud enough for everyone to look at them. Though Clark and Jimmy look visibly confused, Bruce Wayne doesn't seem to falter at all, if anything he was expecting that response.

"I don't believe we've met before," Bruce says turning his attention to Clark and eyeing him which Clark is doing as well.

"No, I'm Clark Kent," Clark says holding out his hand and Bruce shaking it firmly.

"Strong grip for a reporter." Bruce comments. "-"

"Clark!" A feminine voice shouts and Clark quickly turns to catch the female frame that throws her arms around his neck. "My God, what are you doing here?"

"Dinah, you can't just throw yourself at him, he's working." Oliver Queen says walking over to the now-forming group.

"You didn't tell me he was back in town," Dinah says letting go of Clark and fixing his tie. "How are you doing? How's the wife? Is she here?"

"I'm good," Clark says warming up as he sees the face of his friends. "Diana is good, she's working tonight but we'll see her later probably."

"Clark, you didn't tell me you knew Oliver Queen." Lois interrupts the conversation and holds out her hand. "Lois Lane, a reporter at the Dialy Planet. I'd love to interview you sometime."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Lane," Oliver says shaking her hand. "I'm sure that whatever story you write about me will be kinder than any ones Clark would write." Oliver teases Clark and the two men laugh. There is a history between the three of them that Oliver, Dinah, and Clark know, yet Lois wants to be added to it and so does Bruce.

"Mr. Wayne, Mr. Queen, and Mr. Lance." a voice says and pulls everyone's attention. "Mr. Etta Candy, Curator for the Met. Thank you for–Clark!"

"Does everyone know this man?" Lois mumbles low enough for Clark to hear and no one else.

"Aunt Etta, good to see you again," Clark says and this time hugging the elderly woman.

"Diana has been doing a lovely job." Etta praises Clark's wife which makes Clark beam with pride, he knew Diana would excel in anything she put her mind to. "I'm so sorry she hasn't found you yet. I've had her running around with Ms. Al Ghul but once I find her I'll send her over."

"No rush, really," Clark says, noting the quickened pulse of Bruce Wayne's heartbeat at the mention of Ms. Al Ghul. "I know she's working hard and I'm proud of her."

"A lucky man you are."

The night carries on, and Clark stays to himself as many socialize. He isn't exactly one for parties or events like this. In college, he'd only gone to one party and after a very drunk sorority girl tried to kiss him, he stayed clear of parties. Events like this were part of his job so Clark knew he couldn't avoid them and at some point, he'd have to get used to this. It was, however, a strange adjustment from having been away for a year and only having the company of his wife. The fact that Clark knew Diana was on the premises made his heart beat at an unsteady tempo, he wanted desperately to see her and disappear from this world into their own.

Clark took a sip of water and smiled with his eyes as Dinah smiles at him from across the room. She was engaged in a conversation with a man dressed in uniform no doubt flirting with her. Oliver could clearly see the flirting but he didn't bother interrupting, Dinah could take care of herself and slightly seemed to enjoy it. However, Oliver walked over to Clark and began a conversation.

"You didn't tell me you were back," Oliver says a hint of sadness coming through his words.

"Sorry." Clark apologizes. "We didn't exactly leave on good terms last time I thought you didn't want to hear from me."

"That's the past, Clark." Oliver reminds his friend. "You are my brother and nothing would ever stop me from checking in on you or helping you. You know that, especially after all you've done for me."

"Thank you," Clark says taking another sip of water and putting the glass down on the table.

"How is Diana, truly?" Oliver asks once more. "Is she settling in alright? Do you guys need any money or a–"

"I'm not taking your money."

"Doesn't mean I won't stop offering." Oliver shrugs. "You got documents for her, they're good?"

"Could be better."

"I'll have Dinah make them," Oliver says smoothly. "Leave a paper trail not even the government could poke holes in."

"Thank you."

"We take care of our own…now." Oliver taps Clark knowing that he cannot feel it but Clark's eyes follow the trail of Oliver's as they come upon his wife, in the center of the room.

Diana wears a red mermaid dress with an open back, her hair in a high bun. The dress emphasizes every curve of her body and Clark forgets himself every time he stares at Diana. Clark doesn't say goodbye to Oliver and he understands, he won't stop Clark as he walks towards his wife.

Diana's eyes then find Clark's and they smile at each other. While the room watches the two of them, their eyes are on each other. Clark places one hand on Diana's hip and the other cups her chin, pulling her into a gentle kiss that dares to grow deeper with every second passing. Diana is the one to pull away, both catching their breaths but wanting to kiss once more.

"I'm working, beloved." Diana reminds her husband.

"Mhmm I think Etta can miss you for a few minutes," Clark suggests to his wife.

"Oh, I think I'd need you for a little longer than that."

Clark growls lowly and places a kiss on his wife's forehead. Clark then introduces Diana to his colleagues and friends. Diana instantly clicks with Kat and Jimmy while Lois seems to be standoffish but it doesn't bother Diana. Diana then gets acquainted with Dinah and Oliver while also meeting Bruce Wayne, a man that smiles at Diana with a hint of hesitation.

As the night continues and everyone mingles, Diana takes Clark's hand and leads him through the museum showing her some of her favorite pieces. There is a childlike joy and wonder in Diana's eyes and voice that makes Clark smile every time she opens her mouth. It reminds Clark of when they'd first met, Diana, seeing an outsider, a man, and wanting to learn everything about him and his world. The looks of astonishment, wonder, and satisfaction on Diana's face are expressions Clark always wants to see, he wants to give it to her for the rest of their lives.

"This one is my new favorite," Diana tells Clark as she pulls him by the hand to a painting on the far side of the wall. "We got it my first day working here."

As Clark looked at the photo he could tell why it was one of DIana's favorites. They were on an Island that resembled Diana's homeland. Clark knows Diana misses her Island and her sisters, he wants so desperately to give that world back to Diana but he can't. But he doesn't dwell on what he cannot do for his wife, only what he can give her, trying to fill those voids with their love.

In the center of the painting, there are two figures, a man holding a woman while the while cradles a child in their arms. It does not reflect Clark and Diana now for they don't have a child but if that time ever came, Clark knew he would hold Diana and their child exactly like that and protect them from the world.

"It's beautiful, Diana," Clark says kissing his wife's cheek and holding her close. "You did wonderful tonight. Every piece fits the theme and is perfect, I'm so proud of you."

"Thank you," Diana says and turns around to wrap her arms around her husband's neck, looking up at him. "Thank you for all of this, Kal. I never thought that this would be my life, that you would ever be mine, that we would have–"

"I know, my love," Kal assures Diana and kisses her forehead. "I thank the Gods every day that we found each other."

The two fall into a nice silence, holding each other, listening to the steady beat of their hearts as they beat in tandem. Clark holds Diana securely around her waist while Diana places her head on Clark's broad chest, the firm muscle soft under her cheeks.

Neither knows how long they hold each other, time slips away when they are together. However, time is interrupted when Dina'as phone rings. Diana answers the phone, and Barabra asks for Diana's help.

"Do you need me to come with you?"

"No, I'll be fine, I just need to get the necklace," Diana assures Kal and then kisses his lips softly before pulling away. "I'll be right back."

Clark nods and watches his lovely wife run off.

The Met Gala on the 5th floor

Diana takes the elevator to the fifth floor of the Met gala, where Etta kept the artifacts. She hadn't gotten a text from Etta about showing the items yet. Diana concluded that maybe Etta changed the plans and only told Barbara.

When Diana reaches the fifth floor she calls out the Barbabra dn follows the voice. Down the hall, Diana can smell the intoxicating scent of roses, one of Diana's favorite flowers.

"Hey, Barbara wh–" Diana looks up and sees Barbara held with a knife at her throat, the two black safes on the floor, one opened and the other sealed. Diana then turns to see armed men and women standing behind her. "Barbara…"

"Diana, listen to me," Barbara says calmly. "I need you to give them to code so they can get the necklace and leave."

"Barbara, I can't," Diana says firmly.

"The necklace or your friend, lady." The man threatens that holds the knife to Barbara's throat.

Barbara is clearly frightened in this situation but Diana stays calm. Her Amazon training had prepared her for much worse, she could handle this on her own. However, it meant exposing herself to Barbara and these men, something she nor Clark want to deal with. But if it meant saving Barbara and the people in this even then she would.

"Put the knife down," Diana orders taking a step forward and so do the armed assailants.

"We don't have time for this." Another man shouts.

"Diana!" Barbara shouts.

Diana runs towards Barbara and someone shoots first. Diana dodgers the bullets as best she can, one catching her in her leg, but that doesn't stop Diana as she runs toward Barbara, however, it's too late. An alarm goes off and it's follow by rapid gun fire, Barbara cries out as her throat is slit, her body falling to the ground.

Diana screams and catches Barbara's body, ignoring the mayhem around her. A gush of wind passes Diana and she turns to see Kal on the other side of Barbara holding her body.

"Diana!" Kal shouts. "What happened?"

Diana hears her husband, his questions as rapid as the bullets above them. But the fog is too much, blinding and the noise in the room is deafening to where Diana cannot focus. All she knows is that her hands are red with the blood of her friend, someone she could have saved if she moved fast enough.

Diana then looks at Baraba and she's taken back, the slit on her neck closing and healing itself. Son her skin turns yellow and black spots form on her skin. Yellow eyes open and Diana pushed through the window of the Met Gala, falling from the top floor and crashing into the ground.

The window is knocked out of Diana, rolling onto her side and coughing. More chaos covers the city as people run out of the building. Diana gathers herself, climbing out of the hole she'd made in the city street.

The ground shakes as Barba lands in the street and stares at Diana. Diana tries to call for Barba but instead of being greeted kindly, she is met with punches almost as strong as her own. The two are quickly engaged in a fight, Diana holding back on her attacks, not wanting to hurt the woman possessed, trying to call out for her friend.

But Barbara doesn't hold back as she digs her nails into Diana's skin, cutting her face and dress, slamming into the ground, punching her, and biting her. It's not long before an arrow pierces Barbara's skill, pulling a growl from Barbara. This fight quickly turns into a group versus Barbara and Diana doesn't like this. Barbara is not the enemy and Diana can not count on these people to protect Barbara, especially Batman.

Diana quickly changes sides, fighting not only Barbara but Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Black Canary.

They are not pulling punches so neither does Diana. Diana can tell that most of them are human so rather than punching them, she movies swiftly countering each attack and turning it on each other. Diana has the upper hand until Grene Lantern put her in a box. It doesn't take long for Diana to punch through the box and fly toward Lanter, kicking him in the face and knocking him into another building.

Kal quickly joins the fray, two of them back to back defending themselves while trying to protect Barbara while also dodging their attacks. As the fight continues the crowd grows and reinforcement for the city comes.

Kal grows tired of the fighting and decides to end it quickly, clapping his hands, a sonic boom sending many of them away. Kal then grabs Diana but is pulled back by Barbara and flung into another building. Barbara then slashes at Diana, but she dodges, finally punching Barbara in the face multiple times and kicking Barbara into the ground, knocking her out.

Diana pants and tries to catch her breath, her stamina not quite the same since she'd last fought on the island.

Diana watches as Barbara sprints away from her, too startled to chase her friend. There is an incessant clicking which Diana finally acknowledges. Cameras flash while the sky turns red and white, and police cars surround her.

Green Arrow, Batman, the Flash, Black Canary, and the Green Lantern surround Diana but she cannot focus on them. Too many sounds fill her eyes and disrupt her vision. She doesn't know how to handle this, the death, the betrayal, and the attention now hitting her all at once.

Green Arrow walks towards Diana and she takes a step back, breath heaving and fears evident on her face.

"Kal," Diana mumbles in an instant Kal's frame is in front of her, his chest against her, his arms gripping her tightly and lifting her off into the sky and to safety.

The Daily Planet

The Daily Planet came to life once more after the Met Gala, the exposure of new Metas, Aliens, or whatever the two were called. News trucks race out of the underground garage while many boot up their computers and search their cameras for event photos.

Kat stands in Richard's office looking out to the chaos through the glass windows. She enjoyed the hustle and bustle of this life though it wasn't exactly her forte in media. So, Katherine Grant took a step back, something she found herself doing lately.

"Kat!" Jimmy shouts, bursting into the room. "Richard is going to kill me!"

"What's wrong now." Kat sighs not wanting to deal with Jimmy's emotions right now.

"I didn't get a clear photo of anything!" Jimmy shouts as he clicks through the camera. "Nothing. I took photos all night and nothing is clear." Jimmy walks towards Kat and tilts his camera to show her. "Richard is going to fire me–I really want this job and–"

Jimmy starts to hyperventilate and Kat quickly realizes that the situation isn't safe. Taking the camera from Jimmy's hands, Kat then places her hands on Jimmy's cheeks and looks into his eyes.

"James," Katherine says sternly. "Look at me, keep your eyes on me."

It takes a moment, Jimmy's eyes looking around the room frantically and then finding Kat's. Jimmy blinks once he sees Katherine and their eyes focus now.

"Good, I'm right here, James," Katherine says, smiling at Jimmy. "Now, take a deep breath with me, alright?"

Jimmy nods and Katherine takes a deep breath and Jimmy follows after her. The pair take two more deep breaths and Jimmy finds his center once more.

"Thank you," James whispers so softly that Katherine could have mistaken it for words between lovers.

"Anytime," Kat replies, removing her hands from Jimmy's face.

"I'm gonna…" Jimmy begins to trail off and turns his gaze from Kat. "I'm gonna take a walk, yeah?"

"Go ahead." Kat encourages and smiles softly, watching Jimmy walk away.

Once Jimmy is gone, Katherine picks up Jimmy's camera again and scrolls through the photos. Jimmy is a nervous man, but the one thing he knows how to do, the one thing he is sure of is photography.

Katherine looks through the photos and admires Jimmy's work. He'd gotten photos of Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen, Lex Luthor, and many other prominent figures. Katherine smiles as she sees a photo of Clark speaking with Oliver Queen, Oliver is laughing while Clark is blushing, most likely being embarrassed by Oliver. Kat wonders how Clark knew Oliver but that was a story for another time.

Katherine then gets to the photos that Jimmy is worried about, the ones that are blurred and unclear. However, the photos are mostly of the fight between the first two Metas, they moved too fast for anyone to see, and no doubt the camera couldn't capture anything.

Katherine keeps looking and then she sees the final photo, when the Male Meta entered the fight. The man holds the woman close, shielding her from the world. The woman's face is blurred and it's hard to make out the man's until Katherine zooms in. As Katherine Grant zooms in on the photo and makes out the face, her breath catches in her throat. She knew that man and it didn't take rocket science to figure out who the woman was as the man held her for dear life.

Katherine Grant deletes the photo and shuts off the camera.

How do we feel? Let me know in the comments!

I'm not great with fight scenes so I summarized it only hitting the key points. Diana has seen blood before but she's never seen anyone die especially a friend so it shocks her. Also, all the exposure and attention is a lot for anyone and Diana is still new to the world so to have the police, the JL, and the press looking at her, she freezes. Diana is also 20 which is the youngest I've ever written her, she doesn't know how to be a hero or handle the press at this point so freezing is understandable for this moment.
