Roxy tested out her newly repaired arms, spinning them in several large circles a few times to make sure she had full mobility.
"So to recap, I'm back, Freddy should reboot soon, and Goldie has agreed to help us take down the monsters." Bonnie concluded.
"Nightmares." Goldie corrected as she closed the still unconscious Chica's torso panel.
"Right, apparently they're called Nightmares, and this isn't the first time Goldie has encountered them." Bonnie said. "Any questions?"
"Yeah. This 'Malhare' you mentioned. You said he can control animatronics? Why aren't we under his control right now?" Foxy asked.
"About that…" Monty said through gritted teeth. "We were."
Foxy looked at Monty, confused. "What do you mean you were? You seemed fine when I first got here."
"Well… It's a bit of a long story, but we were taken over for a time. Freddy was the only one who wasn't, I think." Monty explained.
"There was also this kid named Gregory, we were tasked with capturing him. But once Freddy and the kid went to Fazerblast, it suddenly stopped. We were free." Roxy said. "You came in a couple days after that."
"I see…" Foxy anxiously shifted his weight from one foot to another. He wondered if this 'Gregory' was the same child that he had seen commanding that nightmare in Fazer blast. Why would he be working with them? Something didn't make sense.
"It's likely that he gave up on you all and started building the Nightmares right after." Goldie stated. "I don't know exactly what he's planning, but whatever it is, I have no doubt it's gonna hurt a lot of people."
"Then we just gotta continue tearing down the nightmares, right? We've already broken three of them so far." Roxy said confidently.
"The three easiest ones to break." Goldie corrected, taking the wild out of Roxy's sails pretty efficiently. "The remaining three… They're more… Personal. They will be extremely hard to take down… Nightmare especially."
"There's a nightmare just called… Nightmare?" Monty asked, raising an eyebrow.
Goldie nodded. "Yes, but luckily I have a plan."
"As I've been exploring this place, I've noticed a few… Things. I believe we can use them to decommission the nightmares." Goldie announces.
"Alright, but what 'things' are you talking about?' Roxy says, crossing her arms.
"There's two. The first one is the mazercise course. If someone wanted to, they could overload the controls to the maze room, causing it to change around much faster than it's supposed to, having a good chance of crushing whatever's inside."
"Wait, really?" Foxy asked, a bit surprised that he had been working with such a dangerous piece of equipment this whole time.
Goldie nods. "It would take a bit of effort, but the mechanics under the floor are incredibly powerful for an exercise attraction… Whoever constructed it was either overestimating the weight of children or had an ulterior motive."
"I… See…" Foxy said, unsure what possible motives someone would have for weaponizing mazercise.
"The other one lies in the West Arcade." Goldie explains. "The DJ there. He too is more than he appears."
"Really? I mean, I know he's huge and all. But all he really does is sit on that stage and play music." Monty states.
"Well, while digging through some filing cabinets, I found this." Goldie says, pulling out a small piece of paper.
She handed it to Monty, and he opened it up to reveal a set of blueprints for the giant DJ. Written in the bottom right corner, was instructions for something called "Bouncer Mode." It explained that the DJ could enter Bouncer mode if the command was entered into the computer in the security office.
"Huh, I never heard of bouncer mode before." Monty comments, handing the paper back to Goldie.
"There's a lot more to this place than neon lights and arcade machines." Goldie says. "But that isn't even the worst part. Beneath this building, there's-" Goldie's explanation is cut off by the sound of the elevator activating again, grabbing everyone's attention.
"We're not expecting any more company, right?" Roxy asked, readying to fight whatever was coming down the elevator.
"Looks like they're getting bolder." Goldie stated. "Freddy and Chica are still in a vulnerable state, if the nightmares attack now, they'll be destroyed for sure."
"No way am I gonna let that happen!" Monty shouted, "We'll have to just lure them away."
"Aye, we can use those two places you told us about, Goldie." Foxy agrees, walking over to Roxy. "Roxy and I will head to mazercise."
"Alright, Monty, you and I will go to the West Arcade, try and get the DJ to help us." Goldie ordered. "Bonnie, you stay here, just in case."
Bonnie nodded. "You can count on me, as soon as they both wake up, I'll explain the situation to them, and try to meet up with you all."
The four ran out of the repair room, ready to intercept the monsters.
As the elevator reached the bottom, two large sets of footsteps began to make their way towards the repair bay. Two large bears, one yellow and one black, both wielding large sharp claws and teeth.
As they near the door, a metal bar flies out of nowhere, and smacks the yellow monster on the side of the head. Both creatures turn to see Montgomery Gator pointing back at them.
"Yeah, you two freaks! We've got a score to settle, you and your idiot master!" He shouts. The comment about their master seems to upset the monstrosities, who let out a couple of near-deafening roars, before sprinting towards the smirking Gator.
Taking off as well, Monty runs into a nearby hallway, leading towards the endoskeleton training center. 'I just gotta figure out how to give one of them the slip, while keeping the other on my tail.' Monty thinks to himself.
Meanwhile, having run ahead, the other three frantically search through shelves for something they can use.
"Aha, I got it!" Roxy shouts, holding up a spare alligator tail. "We can use this!" She and Foxy rush to get into a good spot to set up the trap, Goldie meanwhile, decides to meet Monty by the stairwell to the arcade.
The nightmares begin to close the distance on Monty, causing him to begin to slightly panic. "C'mon, hurry up!" He shouts, rounding a corner. His eyes briefly meet Foxy's before he shoves a large shelving unit over. The ensuing avalanche of metal bits and plastic storage totes caused the Yellow Nightmare to stumble and fall over.
Leaping over the monster, Foxy ran down a side hall, where Roxy was lying in wait with the tail. Quickly leaping over the mess, The Black Bear Monster continued to give chase to Monty. As soon as it was past Roxy, she held the tail around the corner and used her eyes to watch for the moment the yellow bear looked back at. Pulling the tail back around the corner as soon as it was noticed, the monster diverted its course with a roar.
"Run!" Roxy shouted as the two began to sprint for an exit up to the main atrium. The monster now chasing them, having realized it was tricked, gladly took up the new task to hunt down these two instead, leaving the gator up to its partner.
"Now we just have to get to the maze before it catches us!" Foxy announced, as the two turned another corner.
"Easier said than done… Left!" Roxy responded as the two took another left. "You might need to throw down another shelf or something to buy us time!"
"Got it!" Foxy said, grabbing the next metal thing they come across and tossing it back, unfortunately it wasn't a shelf, but rather an endoskeleton. Slamming it into the nightmare, it stops for just a brief moment, staring down at the inactive skeleton, before snapping it in half like a twig.
"Well, that kind of worked." Foxy said, wincing as the beast tossed the halves to the side and continued its chase.
"If that thing catches us, we'll be snapped in half too!" Roxy shouts. "You better keep throwing things!"
The two turned and reached a stairwell. "Up here!" Roxy shouted, and the two began rapidly ascending the stairs. The creature hot on their heels, practically throwing itself up flights of stairs.
Reaching the top, Roxy threw the door open, and the two ran through, slamming the door shut behind them just in time to hit the monster's face.
"To Mazercise!" Roxy announced as the two continued to book it into the main atrium, and over to the escalators that led to the upper levels.
The door did little more than further anger the monster, who tore the door off of its hinges with its massive claws. Barreling into the atrium, it looked around and spotted the animatronics ascending the floors.
"Go go go!" Foxy shouted from right behind Roxy, the two almost at the top, the monster once again gaining behind them.
The two reached the top, and took off for mazercise. As they ran, Roxy spoke up: "When we get in there, I'll lure him into the maze, you take the controls!"
"But Roxy-" Foxy started to object, but he was cut off.
"No, you know the controls better, Chica's told me about how you would help out from time to time. It has to be you." She stated, looking over at Foxy.
"Alright, but you better be careful, ok?" Foxy replied, a bit uneasy at the thought of leaving her in the maze with the monster.
Roxy smirked. "Hey, you don't have to worry about me, I'm the best, remember? I can handle myself just fine."
The two reached the entrance of Mazercise, its neon lights glowing softly, marking their goal.
"Alright, let's do this!" Roxy says, confidently pushing the door open and dashing inside.
"Aye." Foxy replies following her in.
