Touya felt his throat tighten as he looked at the broken expression on his lover's face, "Baby…"

"He's really…we're really… I-" he started to hyperventilate and Touya quickly scooped him up in his arms, carrying him back towards the bedroom.

"It's ok, Birdie. I'm here."

Tears started pouring down the blonde's face as Touya sat them both down on the bed, cradling Hawks against his chest. "It hurts." he choked out, holding his hand over his heart.

Touya stroked his fingers through Keigo's hair tenderly, "I know…I'm sorry…" He felt his own chest tighten as he tried to comfort the blonde.

Keigo's fingers clenched his shirt, "Thank you…for saving me again." He sat back, looking at Touya with puffy eyes, "I love you."

Touya smiled, kissing his nose, "I love you too."

A week later, things finally settled down. Touya watched Keigo fluttering around the kitchen as he made them breakfast. The news channel was finally reporting on the crimes of Endeavor and the hero commission. They omitted some of the more sensitive subject matter, but still got their point across. The night Keigo got his memories back was hard on them both. It was a constant mix of the blonde desperately trying to ride Touya or crying while curled up against his chest. Touya did his best to give Keigo everything he needed, trying not to drown in his own feelings. After that night, Keigo was slowly getting back to his normal self. Wrapping his head around the two meshing versions of himself and the kidnapping was draining, but he coped quicker than Touya would ever have expected.

"I'm not gonna let him haunt me the rest of my life." Keigo said, holding his hand over the flame of a candle to feel the slight heat. He did that often now. Explaining that exposure to heat that he could control was helping him overcome the pain from his memories. They kept the TV off the entire first week, but it no longer bothered Keigo to hear someone re-telling the story.

"Here." Touya blinked out of his thoughts as he stared up at the ray of sunshine smiling down at him.

He grinned, taking the plate and settling back against the couch. "How did I get so lucky?"

Keigo laughed, sitting down next to him, and curling up against his side with his own plate. He glanced at the screen showing Endeavor's face, "Wow, he looks rough."

Touya nodded, taking a bite of his food, "He deserves it."

Keigo ate silently beside him for a second, before staring at Touya for intently. "Your eyes aren't like his…"

"What?" Touya asked in confusion.

Keigo sat his plate down, inching his face closer, "I was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle your eyes being the same…but they're not. Yours have this halo of white around your pupil now. I really like it."

Red danced across Touya's cheeks and he ruffled the blonde's hair, "Eat your food, Birdie."

A month after Keigo's memories returned, Endeavor was sentenced to life in prison for crimes against humanity. The commision was re-worked under new leadership that would be directly supervised by the Police Chief. Things were peaceful again, and everyone's spirits were high. A festival was planned to honor spring, and Touya made sure to drag Keigo along. They strolled through the booths, happily trying the new foods, and winning prizes along the way. After a couple of hours, Touya pulled Keigo over to a small bench near the edge of the festival to watch fireworks. "You know, we're gonna have to lock you inside soon."

Keigo tilted his head, and turned towards Touya, "Why's that?"

Touya laughed airly, "I'm terrified of how spring is going to affect your sex drive."

Keigo's face lit up pink and he shoved Touya's shoulder playfully, "It's not that bad."

"Well…there is something I wanted to do while you're still in your clear state of mind."

"Wha-" A loud boom cut off Keigo's question as the first firework lit up the sky. The sparkles reflected in the gold of his eyes as he looked up with a smile on his face, "I love these."

"I know." Touya smiled as he kneeled down in front of Keigo.

Keigo's eyes widened, no longer enraptured by the fireworks, "W-wait. What are you doing?"

Touya carefully pulled a small box from his pocket, "I don't want to spend another day without you for the rest of my life, Keigo."

The hero froze, eyes wide as he watched the box open to reveal a dark onyx ring with a diamond embedded into the center. He couldn't move, feeling his throat tighten.

"Will you marry me, Keigo Takami?" Touya asked, his eyes shining brightly with love and adoration for the man in front of him.

A laugh ripped itself from Keigo's throat and he doubled over holding his sides, "How dare you?"

Touya titled his head, his heart racing "Wh-what?"

Keigo sat back up, a grin spread across his face as he unveiled another small box in his own hand, "I was gonna ask you first."

He opened it showing Touya the solid white ring inside. A rush of pure happiness surged through the former villain, "I love you, Keigo."

Touya pulled him into his arms, kissing him softly in the glow of the fireworks. "I love you too, Touya." Tears brimmed in both of their eyes as they traded rings, carefully sliding them onto each other's fingers. Keigo smiled, twisting his hand around to see the ring. "So…three kids?"

Touya laughed, kissing Keigo's forehead as all was finally right in their world. "2 kids and a cat."

Keigo smiled up at him through the tears escaping his eyes, "Deal."

I can never explain to each and every single one of you how much each view and comment has meant to me. You guys have brightened some of my darkest days as I have coped with my mom being in the hospital for most of the time I've been writing this.
