Chapter XIII: Legacy of the air nomads! Part Two

Tsunade's office (Three days after Danzo's failed coupe)

Kakashi, Inoichi and Jiraiya are waiting for Tsunade to make her decision. "Are you certain you can't use your clan jutsu?"

Inoichi sighs "Whatever she is using is shielding her mind from me. I did not think such a thing was possible."

Tsunade sighs "So we can't tell if Sakura is lying to us?"

"Sorry Lady Tsunade. But at the moment all we have is her word."

If her mind is protected, there is one more thing we could try. Tsunade thought.

"Shizune."

"Yes Lady Tsunade?"

"Have Karin come to my office in twenty minutes."

Shizune nods before leaving the office. "Kakashi, I know Sakura was one of your students. But I need you to keep a very close eye on her."

"Yes, Lady Tsunade."

"Jiraiya, what is your opinion on this?"

He sighs "We all know what Orochimaru capable of. I would not put it past him to send a spy in our ranks. Again."

Kakashi takes a step forward. "What should we do?"

"For the moment, we will leave Sakura in her cell."

"Should we tell her mother?" Inoichi asked.

Tsunade rubs her chin for a moment. "No, at least not for a while."

"If Haruka learns about Sakura from someone else, she will go ballistic."

"I know."

Tsunade taps her seal on her arm. Naruto. She thought.

Yes, Tsuna? Naruto asked.

I need you to talk to you, meet me at the Anbu prison in ten minutes. She thought.

On my way. Naruto said.

Time Skip (A few minutes after Naruto and his team left for Wave)

Tsunade and Sakura leave the Anbu prison "So I am free to go?"

"Yes. Until your probation is over, you are restricted to the civilian areas of Konoha."

"I understand Lady Tsunade. I am sorry for causing so much trouble."

"Sakura, we will discuss this at a later date."

"Can I visit my friends?"

"At the moment most of them are on missions."

"Sakura!"

Oh great. Sakura thought.

Sakura has a fake smile as her mother approached them. "Hi mom."

Haruka huges Sakura, while her daughter doesn't return it. Tsunade sees that. Not a good sign, I guess we will go through with the plan. She thought.

"Hey Haruka, why not go to Ichiraku and catch up with Sakura."

"Good idea. Come dear let's get something to eat."

As they go around the corner, an Anbu lands next to Tsunade. "Lady Tsunade, the envoy from Kumo is at the front gate."

"Very well, have them meet me in my office once they settle in."

"Hai."

Ichiraku

Pakura, Azula, Tayuya and Ryuzetsu were enjoying their lunch. "Another bowl of pork ramen please." Azula

asked.

Ayame grins "You got it."

Mei raised an eyebrow "What is with you Azula? You never asked for seconds before." Pakura asked.

"What? I am hungry after that training session we had."

"So, Ryu. Are you planning on returning home?" Ayame asked.

"Only for a week. My oldest sister Momo is getting married."

"Does your family know you're the servant to the Avatar?" Azula asked.

Ryuzetsu sighed. "Not yet."

Haruka and Sakura enter the ramen stand. "Azula how are you today?"

"I am doing well Haruka, who is this?"

"Azula, this is my daughter Sakura."

"Hello."

Who is this? She thought.

"Sakura, this is Azula Namikaze and Mei Uzumaki. Naruto's wives."

Sakura's jaw dropped "Your joking, right?"

Karin and Haku approached Ichiraku and leans against the wall. Now lets see if you're hiding something. She thought.

Tsunade's office

The Daimyo and Yami Nara entered the office holding a scroll. "My Lord, Yami."

Yami nods "Tsunade."

"From the message you sent, I take it the terms were agreed upon."

"Yes, the Daimyos decided to use Naruto's proposal. With a few conditions from the Wind and Lightning's Daimyo."

"Such as?"

Yami puts the scroll on the desk. Tsunade raised an eyebrow as she looks through it. "You're joking right? Naruto is to marry Kunoichi from Suna and Kumo?"

"From Suna they have chosen Temari, sister of their current Kazekage." The Daimyo said.

"The Raikage has chosen Samue and Yugito Nii."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow "Wait, he picked both of his niece?"

"It appears that Naruto made a large impression on them."

Tsunade sighs "Very well, anything else?"

"Yami and the other Kumo shinobi will be placed under your command, while they live here. However, should they be recalled, then they have to return to Kumo. No questions asked."

"Alright. I take it you want to return to the Anbu Yami?"

"Yes, as a show of good faith. The Raikage ordered me to share intel from the Thunderbirds."

"Generous."

"Sorry, but the intel is related to the Land of Fire or Konoha."

Tsunade nods "Very well. Anbu."

An Anbu wearing a dear mask appears "Yes Lady Tsunade?"

"Have Azula Namikaze and Mei Uzumaki brought to my office within the hour. We need to talk."

The Anbu nods before she disappeared. "Before you go Yami, I will need some help with a situation."

Yami raised an eyebrow.

Mountain Cave

The wind started to pick up as Naruto and his party enters the cave. Tenzin looks at the murals on the walls. "What kind of animals are those?" Hinata asked.

"They're Sky Bison, the first air benders." Tenzin raised an eyebrow as the group continued down the cave. "How do you know that?"

Naruto grins "Long story. I will tell you later."

They reach the location Yuto disappeared. Ino whistles seeing the city below them. Hinata and Neji activate their byakugan. Naruto looks through a spy glass at the temple "Well?" He asked.

Kiba and Akamaru were sniffing the area "I smell the guy and something else."

Akamaru was growling "Right, boy. There is a second smell present as well. It must be the creature that took Yuto."

"I don't see him in the buildings close to us." Hinata said.

"How can you..."

Tenzin's eyes widen when he saw Hinata and Neji's face. "They have a dojtsu, it's a bloodline that lets them see through walls and other things." Asuma said.

Neji's eyes twitch when he saw how large the temple was. "You alright?" Hinata asked.

Neji has a sweat drop This temple is beyond insane. How did they build something this complex? He thought.

"If Yuto is in the temple, we will have a huge search on our hands." Asuma said.

"Troublesome."

Naruto spot a clearing next to the stairs of the temple. "I found a place we can set up camp. Hopefully the other teams arrive soon."

Everyone nods, Naruto creates several shadow clones as an advance party. Tenzin almost falls over. Ino giggles "Is that a normal occurance?" He asked.

"Yes, it is."

Naruto hands one of the clones his bag. The team then jumps off of the ledge and lands on a building's roof. They quickly make their way towards the temple. Tenzin was full of questions.

Tazuna's house

Since lunch Moegi been watching Kya. After twenty minutes, Kya has enough. "Why are you staring at me child?" She asked.

"When you were cleaning the dishes, were you water bending?"

"Yes, I was. Have you seen water bending before?"

Moegi grins "All of the time, my sensei is very good at it."

Kya raise an eyebrow "I thought Naruto was an air bender."

"He can bend all four elements." Moegi said with a hint of pride.

Outside Ikki and Meelo was playing with Inari. Konohamaru on the other hand was target practicing with his bow. Jinora was watching him for a few minutes.

"Is it hard to use that?" She asked.

Konohamaru put down his bow then turns to her "No, would you like to try?"

"Sorry, I am not allowed. It's a weapon."

He holds up the bow "No, it's a tool. That is what my sensei tells me."

Bumi comes out of the house. Well said my boy. He thought.

"I could show you if you like."

Jinora smiles "Alright."

After a few minutes Bumi decides to give some pointers. "Konohamaru."

"Um yes sir?"

"Would you mind, if I show you a couple of things? I was in the military myself."

Konohamaru hands Bumi his bow "Sure."

Uzumaki Namikaze Compound (Sun Set)

Mikoto and Itachi are sitting on the couch in front of Azula. She is currently reading a document that could effect the Uchiha clan. As she finished Azula raised an eyebrow "Are you two certain?"

"Yes, after Mikoto and I had a long discussion, we feel it would be for the best. At least for a few generations at least."

Sensing Azula's hesitance Mikoto decides to put her two cents in. "We fear that council might make the same mistakes again. We don't want our children to turn out like Sasuke."

Azula sighs as she looks to Mei. "What is your opinion on this?"

"This might cause a few problems with the council. It's not every day that one of the founding clans, becomes a branch member to another clan."

"Given there's only three members of the Uchiha clan left, they might support this." Itachi said.

Azula rubs her chin for a moment before she looks at Itachi. "I will agree to this but with a few conditions. Itachi, I will allow you to run your clan as you see fit. But being a branch family, you must obey the rules Uzumaki and Namikaze clan sets."

"I understand, Lady Azula."

"Second, on the eve of your grandchild becoming clan leader. Your clan will be released. From that day on you will no longer be a branch family."

"In exchange?" Itachi asked.

Azula grabs a piece of paper and write down the conditions then hands it to Itachi.

All of Mikoto's children and grandchildren, will inherit the Uchiha name. The Uchiha clan will allow them to learn to use their Sharingan.

Should a member of either Uzumaki or Namikaze clan needs sanctuary. The Uchiha clan will give it to them.

Mikoto's faith in Azula is well founded. I am grateful for that. Itachi thought.

Itachi smiles "That's a fair exchange, I agree to the terms."

Karin and Haku enters the room "Azula."

"Good your back, discover anything?"

"Haku and I followed Sakura. Not once did I sense anything from her."

Azula raised an eyebrow "Nothing? All day you sense nothing from her?"

"No."

Azula nods "Very well, I will talk to Tsunade in the morning. With her, Jiraiya and Yami's help we might be able to figure this out."

"So, Sakura is back in the village?" Mikoto asked.

"Yes, she arrived a few days after the chunin exam finals."

"Sasuke sent her, to see if I am in the village." Itachi said.

"That's Tsunade and Jiraiya's thought as well. She will keep a close eye on the Uchiha clan compound. It will be for the best, we keep you hidden until Tsunade decides to act."

Itachi nods "Very well."

"Should he stay here?" Mikoto asked.

"No need, I know place I could stay that Sasuke or Sakura doesn't know about."

"Very well, Karin."

"Yes, Lady Azula?"

"What level of seal mastery are you?"

"Seven."

"Keep training, something tells me you will be needed in the days to come."

"Yes Lady Azula."

Karin leaves the room. Itachi starts coughing "Are you alright?" Mikoto asked.

"No. But I will manage."

Azula sighs as she pulls out a three-prong kunai.

Time Skip (Temple Enterance - 30 Minutes Later)

By the time the team arrived at the base of the temple, a camp was set up. Several tents, a grill and a table. Asuma was put in charge while Naruto gone to check on Azula.

"This ability Naruto used seems useful."

One of the clones approached the team. "It's a life saver...where is the boss?"

"He had to take care of a problem in Konoha."

"Alright, we set up camp and scouted out the area around the temple."

"You didn't go inside?" Tenzin asked.

"No."

The real Naruto walks up to the group "Sorry about that, Azula needed my help with a important matter."

The shadow clones dispersed allowing Naruto to have receive the memories. "Naruto look."

Hinata points to the cave entrance, several lights could be seen in the distance. Naruto pulls out a flare and shots into the sky. "Once the teams arrive, we can begin the search. Tenzin, may we see the map of the temple?"

"Of course."

Konoha (Midnight)

Sakura slip out of her bedroom window, then climbs up onto the roof. She quickly hops from building to building. After a few minutes she lands on the ground infront of the Uchiha clan compound.

I know you are here bastard; you will pay for the pain you caused my Sasuke-kun. She thought.

Itachi, Yami, Kakashi and Tenzo watch Sakura enters "Damn it."

"Sorry Kakashi." Itachi said.

"How should we handle this?" Tenzo ask.

"For now, we observe."

"Troublesome."

Itachi raised an eyebrow "Since your return to Konoha, I notice you been saying that more."

"Damn it, I was hoping to be finally rid of that verbal tick."

"What about you Itachi? You haven't coughed all day." Kakashi asked.

Itachi hate to admit it, he thought there was no return from his condition. He would been surprise if he live to be twenty five.

But thanks to Katara's healing technique, hope was on the horizon. It will be a slow process however, given how aggressive Itachi's illness is. He will need more treatments in the future, but already Itachi feels some of his former strength returning.

"Let's just say I am back to my old self."

"Look there."

Tenzo pointed to Sakura as she enters Itachi's family home.

Temple (Sealed Room)

Throughout the entire temple was a honeycomb with passageways and rooms. Only someone with a Byakugan could appreciate the scale of it. To Neji, it almost reminds him of the inside of a clock.

The team enters a large room with twelve statues. On all four walls were murals telling the tail of the Avatar cycle.

"What are these statues?" Asuma said.

"Each of the statues were made in honor of the Avatar and their journey." Naruto said.

"How do you know this? You're not an Air Nomad."

Naruto grins "Are you sure you want to know the answer?"

Tenzin's face was turning a shade of red. Kit, I sense he is getting frustrated with you. It's time to show him who you really are. Kurama said.

"Tenzin, let me show you a magic trick. Everyone stand back."

Once everyone cleared the center of the room, Naruto entered the Avatar State.

"What the hell?!" Kiba shouted.

Naruto opens a bottom of water, then took a breath. Tenzin's jaw draw as Naruto begun to fire bend. He gracefully moves as rings of fire forms around him. "So beautiful." Ino said.

Four of the statues begun to glow, Naruto switch to air bending. The others were in awe watching Naruto bend the elements. This explains so much, I never thought I would meet the Avatar. He thought.

As Naruto finished his eyes returns to normal. All twelve statues lite up, then moves towards the center of the room.

Once they formed a circle around Naruto, the four walls begun to rise. Revealing a hidden door.

Gato's hideout

Gato was fuming, not only did he spend two years in Blood prison. But now his crime empire was in ruins. "Damn that blasted blond hair kid!"

In his mind he can still see Naruto with a big grin. Two men enters the room "Boss."

"What?!" He growled.

"You're not going to believe this, that kid that sent you to blood prison is back in Wave."

Gato smiles "Send word to the others, we attack Wave."

Temple (Main Chamber)

In the heart of the temple was a massive machine with a crystal. After the four doors were revealing it set off a chain reaction.

The crystal begun to glow, moments later the ancient gears begun to turn. The temple trembles as new passageways open while others close. On the floor was a massive door that house the temple's guardian. Once the door fully opened, a pair of red eyes could be seen. Massive black pincers started to emerge from the shadow. While outside the temple starts to rise out of the ground. Once fully exposed the temple was floating in the air. Slowly rotates clockwise as light begun to shine from the jewels of the temple walls.
