Chapter 4

Quick note: Sorry this one took a bit longer than the rest. I wanted to work on Loki of Hogwarts some more, but its a longer chapter than normal. Anyways here's the conversation between Harry and the unknown companion that he's harbored since he was less than 2. (Note from a later date, I have decided to work on these chapters and maybe post some because my brain refuses to work on Loki. Sorry if you're waiting for that)

"Talking" -Mind Talk- ~Parseltongue~ 'Thoughts'

Harry heads back to his cupboard, just as his aunt instructed. However what she didn't know was this was the moment Harry had been waiting for. A bit of peace so he could talk to the strange voice in his head.

Once he got there, his aunt locked him in. Normally this would be the point where he would stare at the ceiling, but today he had a goal.

- Hello?- Harry asked again, using the same strategy from earlier both with the conversation, and the trial and error.

-Hello Harry! I'm glad this wasn't a fluke, but now I have a lot to go over with you.- The voice said.

-I'm sorry, but who are you?- Harry asked. He didn't know if the voice was a threat and the Dursleys had taught him to be polite, even to enemies. Though that last part might have been unintended. Needless to say, Harry was cautious and needed more information.

-Ah, Sorry my name is Tom Riddle. I've been thinking about this moment for a long time so I forget that you don't know much of this. So here's a bit of the basics. I am Tom Riddle, you're Harry Potter. I've been trapped inside your head, don't worry I haven't been able to hear your thoughts but I have seen your life. Now this means that I don't know you, but you don't need to explain your experiences.- The now named spirit said, now being named as the spirit we all knew him to be.

-Wait, how are you in my head? I'm... just Harry! Otherwise I'm Freak or Boy. Am I either of those? Is that why you're here? To make me not a freak?- Harry speaks, with an innocence one wouldn't expect from the words being spoken.

-No Harry, please never think you're a freak. You're no freak, you are a boy but not in the way your atrocious family has lead you to believe. Now, as for the last one its a bit harder to explain.- Tom says, and explains in simple terms the idea of horcruxes, trying his best to be impartial despite wanting to show himself in a good light.

- I am a here because of an mistake I made. Part of it had to do with your family and part of it with you.- Tom said, knowing it would spark the child's curiosity. As expected, Harry replied

- What kind of mistake?- and so Tom decided to stop prolonging telling Harry.

-I tried to kill your family Harry.- Tom said, -I'll leave and let that sink in and let you come to a conclusion about what you want to do,- but Harry soon interrupted, saying -Wait don't go! I know about more then I should, and I know about death. Please just don't leave me!- and Tom knew. Tom had been in this situation, though not exactly. What wouldn't Tom have done for a friend? Someone who could talk to him?

When Billy killed Tom's snake, Tom wasn't furious because Billy killed her. Tom was furious at losing the only thing nearest to his heart, and that was why he killed the rabbit. The rabbit couldn't even talk, so it wasn't a comparison. To younger Tom, Billy didn't kill a snake. Billy killed a person, the only one who would even talk to him, and who would even give him the time of day, though the snakes couldn't do that. They did give an impressively accurate number for the sunset and sunrise, however.

So Tom stayed. He stayed and they talked, in the darkness of the cupboard Harry got to know the real Tom Riddle, without the masks or the fakes, because Tom had nothing to hide, and everything to gain. At the end of the night, when Harry's magic, which he had been using to hear and talk to Tom, ran out and Harry had to go to sleep, the two had a plan.

A/N: Hello all you lovely people! Sorry I kinda died. I have been busy with my business, and now I've slacked off on the writing. I also found a mega-fic that I'm loving. Rating is M for safety and its mostly violence and only in the later bits. 1.2 million words is nothing to sneeze at. I know it's not an excuse but here's the next chapter of Tom and Harry. Looking at a busy weekend, or maybe not. Maybe another instalment of this of Loki? Anyways that's all I have to say,

-Clockwork Witch out!
