Chapter 45: Plan after Plan

"So, it was Maria and Marina that made 'world crossing' possible in the first place?"

Shido couldn't help but gasp in surprise.

After Maria was summoned to this world, Mayuri explained how things worked for everyone. Frankly, Maria was the AI of Fraxinus, the battleship that Kotori took charge of, and she had distinct connections with Marina from the other world. Even though she had forgotten her sister's existence due to some reason, the connection between them remained.

One year ago, when Shido was first summoned to this world, it was Marina who activated the "AI Spirit Path" that resonated with Maria, who was residing in Fraxinus. Although the battleship AI didn't know how her functions reacted, she was still able to form a pathway that could teleport Spirits to the neighboring world that Shido was stuck in.

Of course, Marina concealed her identity so that it wouldn't startle her little sister, considering that her existence, along with Rinne and Rio's, was completely erased by Ren's power. No matter how painful it was, she still managed to get Maria on track.

Maria, on the other hand, thought that she accidentally developed a new skill. She could send Spirits to the neighboring world, however, she was stuck in the original world herself, totally helpless in reuniting with Shido. But, none of that mattered anymore.

"Shido…"

Maria stepped forward and pressed her head against Shido's chest, hugging him affectionately.

"It's so good to see you again."

Shido patted her head softly, like a little kitten longing for love.

"Kuku, you are such a spoiled little girl."

"Affection. Maria is so cute, like a little cupcake."

The Yamai Sisters stepped forward and poked Maria on the cheeks on both sides.

"You two…"

Maria blushed as she realized how unprofessional she acted, quickly backing off.

Mayuri giggled at their interaction, hiding her mouth with her little hand.

—In the meantime—

"Haven't been in this system for a while…"

Floating in the database of Fraxinus, Marina glanced around her nostalgically.

She remembered how she used to work under Issac Westcott, hoping to hack into the system of Fraxinus and cause it to crash into Tengu City, all for the purpose of receiving love from her so-called father. Now that she recalled these events, she almost slapped herself for her actions.

If it weren't for Shido and Maria, along with all the other Spirits, she would have died without knowing anything about love. It was thanks to them that, as tragic as her eventual death was, she was able to learn about love and express her feelings. Also, it was a relief that at least Maria survived.

But now, it wasn't the time for lamentation. She was here for an important mission.

"Found ya…"

She exclaimed silently as she reached her destination, then she modified the function of the teleportation device. With this, it should stop absorbing the reiryoku of the Spirits, allowing all of them to teleport to the neighboring world whenever they wished.

That's right, no reiryoku would be required anymore!

This would be crucial for the preparation of taking Ren down. Of course, they would need to find her location first, and initiate a battle plan before confrontation.

Suddenly, she noticed something unusual implanted in the security system—

"The bath is ready…oh and welcome, Maria-chan."

Rinne greeted the new guest politely like a hostess.

She had just finished her bath with Rio, and when she stepped out, she saw that Marina had been "turned" into Maria like she envisioned.

"Rinne-san…thank you for bringing me here."

Maria quickly bowed.

"No, thank Mayuri, she's the one who brought you here and restored your memories."

Rinne smiled.

"Well….it really hurt when she hit me…"

Maria rubbed her head awkwardly.

"—Did you say something?"

Mayuri smiled benevolently.

"No, nothing!"

Maria quickly shut her mouth.

Shido rubbed Maria's head gently, comforting her in his own way.

Seeing this intimate behavior, Rio jumped forward and wanted it too. Then, Kaguya and Yuzuru felt their hearts itchy and wanted a piece of it too. But unfortunately for them, Mayuri dragged them to the bathroom.

"Nighty-night, Rio."

Rinne put Rio to sleep in the bedroom, closing the door gently.

Now that she had finished, Shido couldn't wait anymore and approached her.

"Rinne…"

"Why don't we take this inside?"

With that being said, she activated her powers and engulfed him in her realm.

"Tsk….."

Ren slammed the book in her hand down after seeing the pages not showing any content again.

"...If you are gonna do it again, I don't give a fuck…Whatever, I shall continue my preparation."

—Back to Shido—

"—I had this bizarre dream, and there's Mio, and you, and Mayuri, and…"

"Calm down, I know what you are talking about."

In the pink pocket dimension, Shido poured out his feelings hastily.

Rinne, on the other hand, was relatively calm compared to her lover.

"...You do?"

Shido asked in doubt.

"Of course, I was the one who shared it with you."

Rinne said with a smile, then her expression turned into a serious one, saying:

"Also, please keep this a secret for now."

"Why?"

Shido asked curiously.

"Because I don't want Ren to know."

Rinne replied.

"What does this have to do with her?"

Shido was confused.

"Think about it, you can't activate the Angel [Rasiel] in this world, correct? That means somebody else must be using it! What will happen if she eavesdrops on our conversations?"

Rinne explained, then she added:

"Don't tell the others just yet either. Knowing Kaguya, we can't guarantee if she will spill it."

Hearing this, Shido was completely shocked: Indeed, how come he never suspected such a possibility?

Now that he thought about it, Ren seemed to know everything about him, including his current location. If he wasn't careful, she could infiltrate his house and take his life!

"I have appointed my guardians all over this house, so we should be safe."

Rinne spoke as if she saw through his concern.

Now that she mentioned it, Shido remembered that she had her guardian spirits during the time of Rinne Utopia. They would serve as great bodyguards.

"How did she get her hands on [Rasiel]?"

Shido couldn't help but ask.

"That I do not know."

Rinne shook her head helplessly.

"Hold on, if what you said is true, then…"

Shido quickly shut his mouth as if he just realized something.

"Relax, nothing can probe into my realm." Rinne pressed her lithe finger on his lips playfully. "That's why I brought you here to discuss it, you see?"

"Oh…"

Shido sighed in relief, then he gasped and said:

"Hold on, Maria and Marina just…"

"—This is not a secret to Ren, so let her peek."

Rinne reassured her lover, soothing him nicely.

Now that his concerns were addressed, he felt a lot better.

"Rinne, you are really smart."

Shido complimented her, making her lips curl up in delight.

"So, are we the only two who know about this issue?"

"No, Mayuri and Marina know about it too."

"Can I ask you one more thing?"

"Sure, what is it?"

Shido took a deep breath, before asking with nervousness.

"Can we…do it again?"

—Five Minutes Later—

In the living room, Shido was standing in the center, his face dejected.

Earlier, he asked Rinne if he could have sex with her again, but she turned him down!

Her reasons were simple: First, she was tired since it was her first time. Second, she didn't want him to have brain overloading dysfunction. Third, she wanted to hug Rio to sleep.

As of now, she had never turned him down on any request, and this was a first.

Shido, on the other hand, had never proactively asked any of his girlfriends for sex. This was a first, and it was turned down. For good reasons, he understood that much.

Rinne could transfer memories via sex, and he was well aware of that. Of course, he may be eager to gain more memories, but it was mostly because he wanted to have sex with her. However, she told him to save it for tomorrow.

As much as he would like that, his libido was starting to kick in, making his body hot; after all, he passed out from memory overloading earlier!

At this moment, Mayuri and the Yamai twins were still taking a bath and engaging in a heaty girl talk. As long as the three of them were together, it would be hard to ask the twins, unless….

Suddenly, Maria put her hands on his shoulders, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Are you feeling alright?"

She massaged him gently, to which he nodded.

A smile formed on Maria's lips. She used to be an AI girl who was a novice in love, and she had to resort to experimenting with Shido and the Spirits about love. Slowly, she grew from an expressionless doll to an emotional girl.

"Shido…"

She blushed as she asked.

"Can we…"

Before she finished, Shido closed his eyes and kissed her.

Their lips met, and a tender feeling engulfed their hearts.

As much as Shido wanted to grope all over her body, he restrained his hands properly, convincing himself that she was not ready for the next step. A real man must have strong self-control when it comes to lust, otherwise terrible mistakes would be made.

Pulling apart from him, Maria shyly jumped back and went into Rinne's bedroom, joining them in their sleep.

Now that he was alone in the living room, he quickly gulped down a glass of cold water, calming himself down.

"Sage mode: Activate."

He shut his eyes and emptied his mind, entering the "sage mode". In this case, he would refrain from having any sexual thoughts, truly achieving his inner peace.

When he turned around, he bumped into someone—

A beautiful voice echoed in the living room.

When he opened his eyes, he saw a gorgeous woman with an extremely curvaceous nude body.
