48 hours later
Mike got off the elevator and looked up to notice that there were two police officers in headquarters, he hurried his pace and walked through the door and looked between Steve and the police officers.
"I wish we had better news," One of the constables said as they took their leave, leaving the two worried men behind.
Steve sat down at a desk and rubbed his face as Mike sat across from him and looked at him hopeful for some good news. "We've reached the 48 hour mark, there is no trace of Albert, the man who has taken her. There is no sign of Jo, the police have said we are reaching the point of where we are now looking for—," Steve said before Mike cut him off by standing up and walking to the door.
"Do not finish that sentence Steve, she's a fighter. She won't just give up on us." Mike said before walking out the door and slamming it harshly behind him before taking the stairs down to the ED. Mike nor Steve wanted to accept the fact that Jo could be another statistic.
ED
"Vlasek! Slow down!" Frank yelled, following Mike out to the 4WD.
"What Frank? I'm not in the mood." Mike said, opening the car door and pulling out the evidence bag of Jo's belongings that he had put in there the previous evening as a way so he didn't have to look at it in the office.
"Any news?" He asked, as he watched Mike put the bag down on a shelf and sat down in the passenger seat.
"Not great news no, but we aren't giving up." Mike said, as Frank was paged back into the ED.
"You know where to find me," Frank said, turning around and going back to where he came from.
Mike sighed as he sat there, his pager went off and he looked down to see that there was a job to do. Mike thought to himself as Steve joined him in the garage, 'if I can't save Jo right now, then at least I can go save someone else in the meantime.'
Abandoned carpark
"Shit, they have intercepted my women. Not long and they will find you." Albert yelled, pacing back and forward in front of Jo who was sitting in the corner battered and bruised.
"Told you they'd come for me. Mike and Steve wouldn't leave me behind," Jo rasped as she slumped against the concrete of the wall she had tucked herself into, she was dehydrated.
"You have quite the mouth on you, get up." Albert said, pulling a struggling Jo up by her bounded hands, she groaned as she got up and he pulled her towards the van
"Where are you taking me?" she asked as he shoved her towards the back of the van.
"Cops will be swarming this place and right now we need to leave," he said, shoving her into the back of the van and closing the door.
"I don't understand why you're keeping me. I can't help you, I'm not worth anything. Just let me go, the cops are going to get you anyway." Jo pleaded, as he started the van up.
"Shut up! Only speak when I say something to you." Albert yelled as he pulled out into the busy streets of Sydney.
MRU HQ
"You okay?" Steve asked as they returned back to the office after dropping off two patients.
"I will be, when we find Jo." Mike replied shortly, as he sat down at his desk and sighed heavily. "You okay?"
"Same here..." Steve started before they were cut off by OPS calling through another job.
'Operations to MRU-4 do you copy?'
"Copy Operations, what have you got for us?"
'MRU-4, van versus car. 4 patients, 3 critical.'
"Copy that. Let's go." Mike said grabbing their bags and heading for the door.
