A blaring sound of an air horn woke Kevin up. His eyes widened in surprise before he sat up in bed and rubbed them. He glanced out the window and guessed that it was around seven.

Kevin let out a yawn and stretched his arms as he grabbed his clothes and headed on off to shower and get dressed for the morning.

After he was dressed and changed, he found Chris and saw that Jaden was also there.

"How are you both already dressed, ready to go?" Chris asked.

"I was already showering. I'm an early riser, Chris, so don't expect to ruin my mornings," Jaden commented.

"I just headed straight to the shower soon as I heard the horn to wake myself up," Kevin replied.

Chris looked at the two in annoyance at their response and then ignored them as everyone else showed up. Kevin smiled as he walked over to stand next to Heather.

"Good morning. I hope you slept well," Chris roared.

"Hi, Chris looking really buff in those shorts," Heather pointed out, trying to get on his good side.

"Nice one, beauty," Jaden commented with a brief laugh.

"I know," He winked."Okay, I hope you're all ready because your next challenge begins in precisely one minute."

"Suck up," Kevin whispered in Heather's ear.

She glared at him and punched his shoulder at his comment."Shut up!"

Kevin just smiled in response to her punch, loving her feisty attitude.

"Oh, excuse me. I don't know if that's enough time to eat breakfast," Owen mentioned with concern.

"Oh, you'll get breakfast, Owen, right after you complete your twenty-kilometer run around the lake, " Chris said gleefully.

"Oh, so your funny now. You know what I think would be funny-" Eva started to rant while walking over aggressively toward Chris, which made Duncan and Geoff move to restrain her.

"Eva, try to control your temper," Courtney harshly whispered to Eva.

"You're enjoying this, aren't you," Eva said aggressively.

"A little," Chris replied shamelessly."You have thirty seconds."

Eva glared at him but slowly calmed herself down and pulled away from the boys restraining her and walked away with her head turned away and her arms crossed.

Everyone else moves to get in line, ready to start running. Kevin doesn't bother. He wasn't going to start off running just yet. He decided to pace himself and then run closer toward the end.

"Okay, runners, on your mark, get set, go!" Chris instruct.

Everyone set off, with Heather, Gwen, Harold, Sadi, and Kaite all deciding to walk. Since Kevin wanted to get to know Heather more, so he decided to walk with her.

"Hello, Heather," Kevin greeted with a smile as he reached her side.

Heather looked at Kevin and opened her mouth, about to respond before Noah ran into her, knocking her slightly to the side as Kevin quickly steadied her balance, holding her arm.

"Do you mind?" She said with a glare at him, but Noah ignored her and kept going.

"Nice teammates, we've got," Kevin said sarcastically.

"Stupid nerd," Heather scowled, annoyed at Noah for bumping into her, and then looked at Kevin, embarrassed as she saw how close he was holding her arm still.

"My bad," He swiftly apologizes and lets go of her arm."The other boys on our team suck. Don't they?" He asked as he recalled how Cody and Trent had been all over Gwen. Justin was busy looking t himself and Owen's constant gas smells. Worse of all is Jaden.

"Don't get me started, especially with Owen are Jaden. I can't believe that Owen broke the hot tub!" Heather complained."Jaden is a downright flirt, and he straight touched my chest during the hot tub party!"

Kevin sighed as he shook his head, trying to get off the feeling he remembered feeling that night when he saw Jaden touch her chest.

Flashback

"Woo! You're looking good in that red bikini!" Jaden exclaimed as he saw Heather walk out of the bathroom the girls shared with each other.

Heather rolled her eyes as she started to walk past him until Jaden stopped her and touched her chest. He then smirked at her creeping her out a little.

"Wait up, beauty, kiss this rocker. Why don't you?" He asked with a smirk."I know you want me just as much as I want you, especially when you have that on."

"You disgusting move!" Heather snapped.

Kevin walked out of the boy's bathroom and felt his blood boiling at the scene in front of him. He didn't know why, but he couldn't stand seeing Jaden close to Heather like he was now.

"Jaden, get away from her now!" Kevin snapped, walking over and roughly pushing Jaden away.

"Oh, Kev, did you think she was your girl?" Jaden asked with a smirk.

"She not an object, so back off!"

"Kev, we both know that I always will get the girl," Jaden said, starting to walk away."So don't bother trying to win her."

Kevin took a deep breath, trying to calm the anger in his chest at Jaden's words.

"You didn't have to do that," Heather muttered.

"I didn't, but I chose to," Kevin replied. "You don't have to thank me," He said, smiling at her as he walked past her slowly.

"Ugh, okay, thank you for the second time today," Heather said, looking down at the ground.

End of Flashback

"What are you sighing for?" Heather asked, irritated."He was messing with me, not you. I should only be sighing in annoyance!"

"What's wrong with me being annoyed with Jaden?" Kevin asked as he took in Heather's expression.

"It's dumb, mainly since he didn't do anything to you," Heather scoffed, crossing her arms.

"This coming from the girl who seemed immensely grateful for me helping her out?" He pointed out.

"I don't know what you mean?" Heather dismissed with a wave of her hand.

"Whatever you say, Heather, through no need to lie to yourself," He teased, leaning closer to look at her beautiful eyes, making her swallow nervously.

Heather quickly glared at him and pushed him back. The moment she calmed down from his intense stare in her eyes. The two of them continued to walk silently until they both walked through a small stream.

Heather lifted her wet feet in disgust and surprise. She then noticed Owen drinking from the stream disturbed. Kevin sighed as his soaks were getting soaked through his shoes and gave Owen a gross-out look for drinking dirty stream water.

"Must...catch...breath...must...have..condition," Owen gasped out before falling in the stream on his chin.

"Yeah, it's called overeating," Heather informed with attitude, standing with her hands on her hips as she gave him a judgmental look, "Look into it."

Kevin found his gaze trained on Heather as she stood with her hand on her hips. He couldn't help but see how beautiful she looked even when being mean, but his lovely thoughts were ruined as Leshawna came up and dragged her feet, breathing heavily against a tree.

"What's your excuse? You skinny, annoying...Oh, I'm too tired of insults."

"Pick it up, people!" Chris said on his megaphone as he drove by on his four-wheeler bike, "If you're not back by dinner time, you don't eat!"

"Oh, I hate him so much," Heather said with a clenched fist.

"I know how you feel," Kevin said, catching Heather off guard as he picked her up and gently tossed her over his shoulder.

"Hey, let go!" Heather exclaimed, trying to break from his hold on her.

"You do want to make it there in time, don't you?" He asked.

"Ugh, whatever, just go then, mush already!" She shouted, seeing he wasn't going to let her go.

"Hang on!" Kevin shouted and started to run past Owen as Heather sent Leshawna a mocking look.

"Hey, Leshawna! Bet you wish you had a ride like me!" She shouted as they left Leshawna behind, as Kevin ran off, chuckling at Heather's comment.

Heather and Kevin, we're one of the first few to arrive at the mess hall. As soon as they did, Kevin had put Heather back down on the ground.

Kevin decided to sit away from Heather to give her some space, not wanting to push her too much into becoming his friend.

"Hey, why were you walking with Heather and then carrying her? That girl has a bad attitude," Leshawna asked lowly, standing on his left.

"She not a bad person if you don't push her," Kevin dismissed."Plus, got to admit the girl is beautiful and hard to resist a beauty like her."

Kevin saw Heather as a person who was only mean, trying to protect herself from something. He also wasn't lying. He could see Heather's beauty, especially when you could see her eyes without her sunglasses. He was positive he was developing a crush on her, but unlike Jaden, he wasn't a flirt or perv. He generally had feelings for her. Though he was sure she wouldn't ever go out with him.

"Your crazy if you can't see her true personality behind whatever beauty you see on the outside," Leshawna said.

"That might be valid in your eyes, but to me, I see someone different from a mean girl," Kevin smiled, looking at Heather."Jaden is just a perv who sees a prize to kiss. You see a mean girl, but she definitely more than those two things," He explained.

Eventually, the last contestant arrived with Owen carrying a limp Nosh.

"Clear a table stat!" He shouted.

Owen put Noah on the Gopher's table and started doing CPR, but then Gwen noticed that all the Gophers got to the mess hall first as Harold, who was a Bass, go there last, which Courtney criticized him for.

"Hey, wait a minute. If they lost, that means we won the challenge," Gwen said excitedly.

The Gophers started to cheer, except for J

Kevin and Jaden, who kept quiet as Chris spoke, and destroyed the cheer of the others."Whoa there, hold your horses, guys. That wasn't the challenge."

"What did he just say?" Gwen asked with disbelief.

"Ah. I thought this was too simple to be a challenge from a guy like you, Chris," Jaden commented.

Chris then moved to stand in front of a giant purple curtain that Kevin had just noticed was there.

"Who's hungry?" Chris asked.

The curtain opened, revealing a buffet, making everyone gasp and look excited they had only been surviving on Chef's gross gruel. Kevin hadn't had a full-course meal since before he was in the orphanage, so he was also excited.

Everyone dove into the food. All of them overeat in the excitement of Kevin being a victim as well. He rubbed his bloated stomach and mentally cursed at himself for getting carried away, but the good just looked way too excellent not to eat.

"Okay, camper's time for part two of the challenge!" Chris announced while standing on top of the buffet table and unnecessarily using a megaphone.

I thought eating was the second part," Owen said with a mouth full of food.

"What more do you want from us?" Gwen asked desperately.

"Weird goth girl is right," Heather agreed as she rubbed her full stomach in discomfort."Haven't we been through enough?"

"Um, let me think about that...no!" Chris responded statistically."It's time for the awake-a-thon!"

"The what-a-thon?" Owen asked.

"Don't worry," Chris said as he hopped down the table."This is an easy one. The team with the last camper awake wins invisibility."

"So what your saying is the 20 K run and the turkey-eating frenzy were part of your evil plan to make it harder for us to stay awake?" Gwen rationalized, looking mad.

"That's right, Gwen," Chris said, looking pleased.

"Man, the good," Gwen commented with her arms crossed.

"You're a real pain Chris," Jaden stated, running a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, I know," Chris smiled and then yelled."Move, Move, Move!"

~Confessional~

"A challenge where we have to stay awake. Not only that, but he made us run and eat that food to make it even harder. I'm really starting to hate this guy even more than after tricking us onto a dump of an Island," Kevin said with annoyance in his eyes.

"Chris is such a pain of a host. Thinking that he was funny masking us run and eat this food," Heather commented.

~Confessional end~

"How long will it take before everyone is out cold?" Kevin asked as he walked next to her out of the common.

"I will say about an hour. Give or take."

They then saw Owen walk by, drooling.

"Actually, probably less," She commented.

Kevin nodded as he and Heather followed the others outside with Chris for the challenge.

Hey everyone, I hope the fourth chapter of M Cruel Ice Queen is. In this chapter, they are taking on there their second challenge. It was getting pretty long, so breaking into parts.
