However, despite the defeat of the Fairy Godmother, Harold was nowhere to be found with only his armor and clothes laying on the floor which his saddened daughter ran towards.
"Oh, Dad!" Cried Fiona as both Shrek and her mother comforted her while everyone else was crying as well.
The person who was the most saddened by this development was Dulcinea since she was starting to warm up to him since he was able to go against both his prejudice and the Godmother's order and save her daughter from falling in love with a man she didn't love.
"Is he…?" Asked Pinocchio looking at the empty suit.
"Yup."
RIBBIT!!!!
"He croaked." Said Gingy as, to everyone's surprise, a crown wearing frog crawled out of Harold's chestplate or, more accurately, HIS chestplate.
"Harold?" Said Lillian as everyone was shocked at this recent development.
"Dad?" Asked a confused Fiona as she looked at her once human father though the only one who wasn't shocked by this was Dulcinea.
"I can't believe it. You're the Frog Prince from the story!" Exclaimed the excited feline. "Indeed, I am" Answered an ashamed Harold. "It is one of my favorite stories. A rude prince gets cursed to become a frog until the kiss of the beautiful princess is reserved" Dulcinea explained the story to everyone until Puss asked a simple question. "I thought the princess threw him violently against a wall to turn him back?"
"No, it was a kiss, my fine feline though honestly, I'd hoped you'd never see me like this." Asked Harold as all the characters ganged up on him to give him his just desserts and by desserts, I mean beatings.
"Hey! And he gave you a hard time!" Said Donkey before he was quieted by Shrek who didn't like his friend attacking the man who saved his life.
"No, no, he's right. I'm sorry. To both of you. I only wanted what was best for Fiona. But I can see now… she already has it. Shrek, Fiona…will you accept an old frog's apologies… and my blessing?" To the frog's surprise, both Shrek and Fiona accepted his apology by shaking their heads up and down which meant Yes.
However, there was one person he thought would never forgive him for his horrendous acts, his wife. "Harold?" Said Lillian looking at her regretful husband. "I'm sorry, Lillian. I just wish I could be the man you deserve." Harold was just about to leave until the hands of his wife caught him. "You're more that man today than you ever were… warts and all." Said Lillian as her husband croaked with joy and relief.
Both Puss and Dulcinea got off of Donkey and toward the king and queen as Dulcinea pulled out her little book. "When you fix your bad deed, then people's forgiveness is what you'll receive" Dulcinea to the king and queen before putting it away.
"Thank you for encouraging me to fix my wrongdoings but umm, are you one of those crazy fans who will kidnap me and tie me up?" Asked Harold to a worried Dulcinea who was getting some bad memories from the past. "Oh no no no, I won't. I learned my lesson the last time I did that" said Dulcinea at the confused King and Queen who were going to ask another question until…
DING DONG!
"Boss! The Happily Ever After Potion!" At Puss' words, Shrek realized that they wasted much precious time with the climax that it is almost midnight. "Fiona, is this what you want? To be this way forever?" Asked Shrek.
"What?" Asked Fiona before Shrek started to explain what he meant. "Because if you kiss me now…we can stay like this." At that moment, Fiona was shocked. Shrek was willing to give up his life as an ogre to make his wife happy. "You'd do that? For me?" Asked Fiona which Shrek only replied with a simple "Yes".
At first, Fiona was hesitant at first but thanks to the encouragement of her parents, she made her decision. "I want what any princess wants. To live happily ever after…" said Fiona.
Shrek puckered his lip and leaned toward his wife to kiss until he was stopped but not by Harold, rather Fiona herself. "...with the ogre I married." Fiona had decided he didn't want a handsome man for a husband but rather an ogre with a heart of gold that cared about her until the day he died.
Of course, stuff like this gets Puss very emotional. "Whatever happens, I must not cry! You cannot make me cry!" Said Puss before crying into Dulcinea's shoulders as she comforted him. "It's okay, Puss. It's okay."
As the clock rang, the two lovers held hands as they were engulfed by a magical aura and floated into the air. Even Donkey did the same thing though he wasn't as happy about it as the couple.
As Dulcinea watched, she was amazed by the spectacle. Sure, Puss' resurrection via true love's kiss was good but this was more epic, more spectacular, and more beautiful than anything she has seen before.
The couple, along with Donkey, were then lowered back to the ground as we see that Fiona has transformed into an ogre herself though Donkey was upset he returned to his old self.
"Hey. You still look like a noble steed to me." Said Shrek as his compliment raised his friend's spirits up just for a minute. "Now, where were we?" Asked Fiona.
"Oh. I remember." Said Shrek as he leaned his wife over and kissed each other romantically as everyone Cheered for the happy couple.
"They are so cute together, don't you agree Baum? '' Asked Frank who was sitting at a table drinking his banana flavored champagne. "Indeed they are, Frank" Answered Baum who did the same thing.
"And they lived happily ever after" said Dulcinea who was happy at the two ogres and their relationship though Puss has something else on the mind. "Dulcinea, I am sorry for being selfish and thinking about myself. The life of adventure is too intoxicating for me to retire but I know how much you want to start a family and I need to think about your needs more" Explained the ashamed kitty cat until he felt Dulcinea's paw on his shoulder.
"It's okay, Puss, I was never going to leave you, in fact, the memories of us together made me decide that I didn't want to leave you even if I have to give up the Fairy Tale princess life that Fairy Godmother planned me to do so" said Dulcinea in a sad tone in her voice. "You will always be a princess to me" those words from her beloved melted her heart as she and Puss were about to lean in for a kiss before Donkey interrupted them.
"Hey, is it just me or is this party completely dead?" Complained Donkey as the 2 lovers looked around to see that the place was dealer then a empty line for theme park ride. "You right, aren't we supposed to be having a fiesta?" Yelled Puss as everyone Cheered as the cat and jackass took the stage.
"Uno, dos, quatro, hit it! Puss and Donkey, y'all…"

"Oh, Puss!" Said Dulcinea as she catches her love as the whole crowd begins to dance.

Dulcinea saying she learned her lesson the last time she did that is a reference to the AOPIB episode "Written By" where, in a spoof of the film, Misery, Dulcinea kidnaps her favorite author, Miguel A. Andante, so Dulcinea can force the author to write a sequel to her 1st book. This is sadly also the episode that Puss x Kitty shippers use to prove why Kitty is better than Dulcinea because life isn't fair or nice.
Puss' compliment to Dulcinea is an altered version of what the Genie says to Aladdin before he leaves in the 1992 animated film. Aladdin: Genie... I'm gonna...miss you…
