The time has come, and is here. The last Mother's Day chapter for this story since it technically ends during the summer, we all know that one. This one, is just for Lincoln and his mother, Luna. Bonding, spending time and just recalling all they have been through and where they are now. Enjoy reading this newly posted chapter guys.
Family of Two.
Chapter 774: Last Mother's Day for this.
(May 14. The Loud House, Franklin Avenue. Royal Woods Michigan.)
The front door to the house opens, and we see Lincoln Loud and his mother Luna Loud leave the house. Luna sees it is a nice, and sunny day and not a cloud in the sky too. "Alright, kiddo. So, watcha got planned for us this Mother's Day?"
Lincoln smiles. "Come on, I know where to go but we won't be taking the car. We could use the exercise, and if we do need a ride, we could take the bus."
Luna smiles hearing this, and it reminds her of when he wanted to spend a late Mother's Day with her, years ago. Luna follows her son, and they begin their walk to the town, and away from the house. But with Knockback high in the sky, and on patrol.
The others have already left, and Harriet is the last to leave. She then looks to Lincoln and Luna leaving, and she smiles. 'Enjoy your day, you two.' She then makes her way, to meet with Albert and spend some time with him, ghostly mother and her elderly son. Did that sound weird?
(Somewhere in town.)
We go to the local music store, and the door opens and we see Lincoln and Luna come out and they got some new things which the place had on sale, a Mother's Day sale. They got some new headphones, and some new music records. Luna, she was chill with signing a guitar which is based off of her axe.
Luna looks to her son. "That was a good start, kiddo. Kinda just like the one from back then, and I can only assume that we are gonna go and have some lunch someplace special, right?"
Lincoln nods. "Yup, but it won't be at Jean-Juan's, or Giovanni-Chang's or any local eateries around here. We're gonna go and enjoy some lunch someplace else."
Luna smirks. "Oh? Well, I am looking forward to that."
Lincoln then asks. "So, Sam is not gonna tag along with us?"
Luna sighs, and she explains. "Sadly, no she cannot. She is gonna spend a whole day with her mom, at a local spa resort. They wanna bond and spend some mother and daughter time, since she graduates next month and same with me. She won't be living in the Sharp House, and we won't be living in the Loud House soon, remember?"
Lincoln nods. "Yeah, I can't believe how far things have come since then, huh?"
"Yeah, and it's changed a lot of folks around here, and those who are close to us" replied Luna, and so they make their way to wherever Lincoln has planned.
(Ketcham Park.)
The whistle blows, and we see the three legged race has begun, and the mother's with their daughters/sons are performing here, but with Michelle Lewis she is with both her daughters as they try to make the win.
Everyone cheers the contestants on, as the Royal Woods Mother's Day Festival is in motion, and cheering them on is Lincoln and Luna, and they both are enjoying some cotton candy while cheering. They chose not to compete in these games, but to spend some time together here.
They continue to cheer them on, and soon enough we have a winner, and the winner is Mollie and her mother. Michelle hugs her two daughters, and she is proud of them for doing their best, and spending time with them.
Lincoln and Luna are happy to see them cheerful and bonding, and so they head away from the place. "They might not have won, but they had fun and bonded, right mom?" asked Lincoln.
Luna nods. "Dang right they did. Sure is a busy and amazing event here. I mean, everyone who is with their mothers are all here, and even Scoots for some reason..." they do see Scoots, with some elderly woman on a wheelchair.
"Wow, did not see that one coming" replied Lincoln, he then waves to Jordan who is with her mom, and they are doing the apple bobbing game. Lincoln then holds Luna's hand, and this makes her smile as she holds his hand. "Kinda brings back good memories, huh mom?"
Luna chuckles and she nods. "Of every moment we have spent together, especially the ones we had long ago before I fell in line and went along with everyone else. I recall those, and I am glad to be spending this one with you. Sure is fun to see everyone we know here, and some we don't know."
They spot some folks, from Great Lakes City who are here for this, and they see Frida Casagrande, with her kids as well. But they don't spot Rosa here, and they don't wanna have to deal with her at the moment. But they do see Maria, and her daughter Ronnie Anne and son, Bobby.
Lincoln then asks. "You wanna go on one of the rides?"
They then spot the Ferris wheel, and Luna smiles. "Sure kiddo, let's go."
(Tall Timbers Park.)
The park, doesn't seem as crowded as it usually is and not that many dinosaurs either. The only folks here, is just Lincoln Loud and Luna Loud. The duo underneath the shade of the tree, as the afternoon falls. Lincoln sighs and he looks to Luna.
"Things sure have changed, and it all started after you saved my life, and we became this Family of Two. A mother, who is a former sister, and a son who is the former little brother, well middle child." He then recalls, all the good memories he had before they became where they are now.
Luna smiles. "A lot has changed, so many lives changed, and so many issues settled. We are doing fine now, we don't have any more troubling times to deal with, and the main issue has been cleaned up as well, and not ever gonna come back anytime soon."
"Though, we do have some bad moments which we recall, returning foes and near death experiences, but those are moments which we learn from and adapt and try to look forward to." then she has some concerns and she asks. "Do you still recall th worst moment in your life, Linc?"
Lincoln knows what she means. "Y-Yeah, I kinda do. The day when... The day when it all changed and that everything became something else which seemed familiar and yet so very unfamiliar. The day that... The day I experienced near death, for the first time."
Lincoln is talking about, the day he nearly got killed during the No Such Luck Incident. He still remembers, the fighting, when he saved Luna and Lynn, when he took the hit and was badly wounded, and then recovered and woke up with broken legs.
"But, that was long ago and yet it is a marker which started everything that we have now. I don't know where I would be, if that never had happened. I have had some fears on what would've happened if I didn't make it... But, I did make it and I am alive now, and all thanks to you mom. Because, you saved me that night, and everything changed forever because of what you planned to make happen."
Luna is happy to hear this, Lincoln then continues. "We might not have the others with us, like the same big old, loud and large family from before. But, we all need to change, adapt and learn from mistakes and they have made a lot back then when it happened. But, they are adapting and accepting things quite well, and we're proud of them."
"And even if we aren't the same family as we were before, we are still close and always will be, but the truest of true moments and bonding times that I feel close to, is having you as my mom, just as the day when I called you mama." Luna smiles hearing this, and she has a tear in her eye.
Lincoln then hugs Luna. "I love you mom, I always will. Happy Mother's Day."
Luna hugs him back with tears of joy. "Thank you, son. I love you too, Lincoln. Always."
Lincoln and Luna remain in this loving mother and son embrace, and Luna is wearing the Mother's Day gift he made for her, a golden necklace around her neck with a gold sculpture in the shape of Lincoln and Luna hugging. A memory, of a Mother's Day they will never ever forget.
