Lloyd POV: There are a few times where I have felt bad for Kai. This would be one of those times. I haven't seen him, but the looks of Nya and Zane made me very worried. Zane agreed to cover for him and Nya planned to take care of him. But I couldn't help myself.

When Nya was getting some medicine I checked on him while Cole and Jay were busy practicing on the deck. I quietly opened the door and saw him shaking under two blankets, his back facing me.

I walked over and saw he was also sweating badly. He was also gripping his head in pain. That alone made my heart drop, but I stopped myself from making a sound.

I gently felt his forehead and it was still really hot. I looked around and saw a bowl of water and a rag. As quietly as I could I got it out, wringed it out, and placed it on his forehead. And he visibly relaxed, though he didn't wake up. He must be really out of it.

I left the room, but right after I closed the door I heard someone say, "What are you doing?"

I flinched and turned. And felt my blood freeze as I saw Nya standing, clearly not happy that I was leaving Kai's room.

"Hey, Nya." I said, nervously.

"What. Are. You. Doing." Her voice was quiet and cold. Which is worse than yelling in my opinion.

"I… um… was checking on Kai." I said, not wanting to look her in the eye.

"He needs to sleep." She sounded like she was calming down a little.

"I know, and I didn't wake him up. I even put a cool rag on to help with his fever." I stated, taking a chance and looking at her.

She sighed deeply and calmed down, though I bet she was still a bit upset, and said, "Well, thanks for that. But please don't go in by yourself. Just in case."

"But… okay." I wanted to help, but I can understand her reasons.

I was about to walk away, but heard Kai throwing up. Nya and I rushed into him leaning over the bucket, almost falling off the bed. He continued as Nya went over and tried to calm him down. I grabbed an extra bucket for him.

After a good while he finally stopped and groaned painfully. Nya handed me the bin and said, "Feeling better?"

He just nodded and leaned against her, panting heavily. I felt uneasy as I helped her put him back into bed. Usually he would try to do everything himself, even when he was sick. He's just that stubborn, so seeing him like this was too… unsettling.

After getting him settled back in, Nya quickly cleaned out the bin and I watched over him. He fell asleep as soon as he laid down, but he was still panting a bit with a small scowl on his face. Like he was still suffering despite sleeping. He was still sweating a little, but it wasn't as bad as before.

Nya came back and placed the bin next to him before whispering, "Come on."

We left the room and walked to the deck. Cole and Jay were still training, but stopped once they saw us.

"How's Kai?" Cole immediately asked, walking towards us.

"Still out of it." Nya answered.

"He'll get better in no time. He always does." Jay said, trying to reassure her.

"I know, but I still feel bad." she mumbled, looking down.

It was weird seeing her so depressed, but considering how Kai was, it doesn't surprise me completely.

"It would also help if we try to plan out patrols better." I stated.

"Agreed. We need to have a better system so this doesn't happen again." Jay said, and I agree with him.

"We should discuss this when Kai is feeling better, but the one thing that definitely needs to change is covering patrols." Cole said, and we all nodded.

Later that night Cole and Jay were asleep and Nya stayed in Kai's room to keep an eye on Kai. I waited up for Zane because I wanted the full story on his condition. But I'm guessing something went down because he didn't get back until around midnight.

When he walked through the door I asked, "Was there trouble?"

"Three men tried to rob a bank, and they were armed." He said, going to his room to change.

I followed and asked, "You okay?"

"Yes, I managed to catch them off guard." I let him change in private.

"Do you mind telling me more about Kai? I saw him earlier and he didn't seem good." I asked, leaning against the wall.

He didn't answer right away, but once he finished and opened the door he said, "As bad as he seems, his illness is just a bad case of flu. However, due to him pushing himself so hard for three days put a lot of strain on him."

"Well,... that's better than what it could have been." I said, relaxing a little.

"Indeed. And normally it would take a couple of weeks for someone to recover, but Kai has always recovered fast. So he will most likely be back on his feet by the end of the week." he said, smiling a little.

"Yeah." I responded, thinking about all the other times he's gotten hurt and sick.

"You should probably get some sleep. You have patrol tomorrow." he said, patting my shoulder.

"Oh, right! Well, good night Zane." I said, remembering that.

"Good night, Lloyd." And I went to my room. I hope that Kai gets better soon.

I felt better after talking with Zane, but when I passed Kai's room I could hear him throwing up again and Nya trying to calm him down. And I felt worried about him all over again. I really hope that he gets better fast.
