Yuya woke up with his face still smushed against Dan's chest. He smiled at the warmth, the feeling of Dan's breaths in the top of his head, the hand that was still tangled into his hair. He looked up so that Dan's face was right in front of his. Oh how he wished that he could place a kiss on his lips to peacefully wake him up.
But he couldn't just yet. He placed a kiss on Dan's chin and moved back down to lay his head back against Dan. Then he shot up, pulling his hair in the process to look at the time. He reached for the backpack on the ground, reaching in and fishing out Dan's phone.
He clicked on the power button to see the time; 7:42. Yuya hurriedly tried to get out of the bed and pulled his hair again. Dan woke up hazily to look at Yuya. He smiled but it quickly fell as he saw the expression on Yuya's face.
"Dan, can you try getting your hand out of my hair?" Yuya asked. Dan looked at the hand in his hair and made quick work of getting it untangled with his other hand. Once it was out, Yuya rubbed the irritated area.
"Thanks. Now get up before we're late to school." Yuya said as he grabbed his bag and headed out of the room, most likely to the bathroom. Dan sat up in his bed, still dazed from tiredness. Then his eyes shot open in the realization that he forgot to set his alarm yesterday morning. He was too distracted by the stupid video. He saw how late it was and was in the same rush as Yuya had been, fishing out the first set of clothes he saw and putting them on. He grabbed his bag, almost forgetting to put in the homework on his desk. He quickly slung it over his shoulder. He ran down the stairs to be greeted by Yuya, who was waiting for him.
"Don't worry about putting on your skates. I'll carry you. Let's go." Yuya said, grabbing his skateboard and running out the door with Dan close behind, slipping his shoes on. Yuya kneeled down and Dan hopped on his back without a second thought. Yuya put the skateboard down and got on it, heading to school.
When they arrived, he checked the time on his phone, it had only taken the two of them fourteen minutes to get there. It was pretty good time considering both of them had to get ready. But it wasn't fast enough since they had to get to their class and Yuya still had to put his stuff in his locker. Dan ran to their class while Yuya put his stuff away, making it seem less obvious that they arrived at school at the same time.
After Yuya had sorted his stuff, he ran to his class, the bell ringing just as he was halfway up the stairs. He sighed as he slowed his pace, not really caring for a couple extra minutes now that he was already late. He stepped through the door and the light shown on Dan's face and finger-combed hair.
"Glad you could make it to class today, Yuya S." His teacher said, lightly giggling at her accidental rhyme.
"I'm glad I could make it here too." Yuya responded as he sat in his seat. He looked at Dan who was silently laughing at him, rolling his eyes and turning back around to take his stuff out.
At lunch, Yuya had made a point to drag Dan with him into the lunch line. Dan stood awkwardly in line next to Yuya. Since Yuya chose to bring Dan with him, the lunch line had already formed in front of them. Groups of two to four people created crowds in the line. He saw them converse with each other, leaving gaps in the line until one of them noticed and the group moved up. He looked up to lock eyes with Yuya who was already staring at him.
"Do we really have to wait for lunch?" Dan asked.
"Well, you didn't eat breakfast today, so yeah." Yuya replied. Dan looked away from Yuya and towards the slowly moving line in front of him. Then he felt Yuya's hand in his hair, ruffling it. He quickly looked up at him to give him a glare.
"What? Your hair is soft." Yuya said shamelessly. It was like Yuya didn't care for the hundred or so teenagers in the lunchroom. Dan looked to the ground, a blush from the idea of it. Yuya was showing off that Dan was his again, even though he wasn't his. Dan smiled when he remembered who was in charge that week.
"Yuya, I'm going to go outside. Don't bring me lunch, I'll be fine. I can't stand another second in this line." Dan proclaimed like he was above the other students.
"Aw, Dan. You don't want to stand in line with me?" Yuya whined.
"No, I don't. I'm going to go outside to our table now. Meet me there after you get your lunch." Dan said. Yuya didn't say any further words as he watched Dan walk out the doors. He didn't want to hear another command from him. Yuya had been playing this week as smart as he possibly could, using all the tricks in the book.
And the less he complained, the less chance of a command getting passed Dan's lips. And that meant less chance of him using another safe word opportunity. He had to save the two that he had, or else whatever Dan had been planning would come to action. And all of Yuya's instincts told him that he didn't want to discover what it was just yet.
In the future? Maybe, but it was still too early for him now. Yuya was too deep in thought and hadn't noticed Marucho standing beside him until then.
"How did you get all the way up here?" Yuya asked, swearing to himself that he wasn't there earlier.
"I saw Dan leave so I just took his place. It's just the law of equivalent exchange." Marucho said, shrugging his shoulders. Yuya had no comment, the people behind them didn't seem to mind so he thought that he shouldn't either. But as much as Marucho might want to believe it, he could never be equivalent to Dan.
Dan sat down on the opposite side of Sora Perse and Sylvio, resting his cheek on the table.
"Is Yuya not coming to sit with us?" Sora Perse asked seeing Dan's pained expression.
"No, he is. But I just forgot something." Dan replied.
"What did you forget? I could retrieve it for you if you'd like." Sylvio said.
"I just forgot to tell Yuya not to get me lunch. Well, I told him, but I didn't command him." Dan said, sitting back up to see if Yuya was coming.
"I think it's nice that he cares about you enough to make sure you're eating." Sora Perse stated.
"Yeah, it's nice. But now he's standing in that crowded line by himself getting both of us food." Dan said.
"Well, technically, he's your servant. So, don't feel too bad about it." Sylvio said.
"Yeah, but I also could have probably gotten another one of his safe words." Dan replied.
Sylvio nodded in agreement, "but he could also just end up feeding you his food like he did yesterday." Dan's eyes opened wide for a second of comprehension, then he groaned.
"By the way, why are you trying to get him to use all of his safe words?" Sora Perse asked.
"Oh, me and Dan have devised a plan to bring chaos." Sylvio said.
"It's really not that big of a deal. We just wanted to play a little trick on Yuya." Dan replied.
"What kind of trick?" Sora Perse asked.
"Well, it would require some money, but we figured that Yuya would pay for it anyways since he's a simp. But asking him to buy his own torture would be absurd. So, we have to have him do it unwillingly. Plus, Sylvio already found out that he was going to be winning a bet worth sixty dollars." Dan stated.
"Yeah, a bet with Zuzu. Gong Strong didn't say what the bet was but he was sure that Yuya would win." Sylvio said.
Sora Perse was confused as to how Sylvio acquired the information but thought that was for future explanation.
"Wait, would we even need him to buy anything?" Dan asked.
"Well, I just wanted it to look professional, but he really doesn't have to buy anything." Sylvio said.
"Still, in order for him to agree, he would have to use all of his safe words." Dan replied. Sora Perse didn't get any explanation from what the two were talking about, but just as she opened her mouth to ask a question, Yuya sat down.
"What am I agreeing to?" Yuya asked.
"Nothing yet, Yuya." Dan said. Yuya raised his eyebrows but didn't open his mouth to interrogate them. He slid Dan his plate of food and started to eat his. Dan looked at Sylvio with eyes that read, 'I told you so.'
When Dan was done with classes, he went over to his ride home. Yuya took his stuff out of his locker and kneeled down to allow Dan onto his back. Dan got on without complaint, he didn't have any other way home unless he walked. Yuya carried Dan to his house, he was just going to get himself something to wear and then they would head to Yuya's.
Yuya worried about how much Dan was away from his family, but it wouldn't be that much different if he stayed at home. The only time they really hung out with each other was after nine pm, that's the time that rational people would go to sleep. The only time that they actually spent away from their families was when they did homework together or just hung out. And that was rarely compared to the amount of time they spent at the skatepark.
Dan ran into his house and up the stairs. His mother looked to the open door and saw Yuya, relieving her worries. Dan came back down shortly with another bag over his shoulder. He gave his mom a quick hug before running back over to Yuya, shouting an adieu before he closed the door again, locking it.
He smiled at Yuya, expecting him to turn around again but Yuya just handed him his skateboard. He took it and Yuya picked Dan back up bridal style. Dan quickly got comfortable in Yuya's arms, making Yuya laugh.
"Aw, Georgie, have you finally fallen for me?" Yuya teased.
"No, you're just very comfortable." Dan replied, laying his head on Yuya. Yuya smiled as he carried him home with pride because he knew that Dan did love him.
When they arrived at his house, Yuya set Dan back down onto his feet. He opened the door and held it that way as Dan stepped inside with a thankful bow. Yuya walked in after him, closing and locking the door.
"Dan. Have you heard of pizza rolls?" Yuya asked.
"No, I haven't." Dan responded. Yuya smiled as he practically skipped over to the freezer, pulling out a box and setting it on the counter. Yuya opened the box to get the white bag out, meanwhile Dan inspected the product.
"Oh, so they're like pizza pockets?" Dan asked.
"Well, yeah. But they're just smaller." Yuya replied, spreading the pizza rolls onto the plate.
"Yeah, a little bit. And they're also round." Dan said, trying to measure the pizza rolls with his hand to see how they compare in size.
"Round? Where do you get round pizza pockets?" Yuya asked, shooing Dan's hand away to put the plate in the microwave.
"Pizza pockets are round. That's just how they are." Dan said, confused as to why Yuya would argue about the shape if he knew what they were.
"Wait, let me check." Yuya said, walking back over to his freezer and pulling another box out.
"Oh, I guess these are called hot pockets." Yuya said, raising the box up to show Dan. Dan shook his head at the stupidity. He pulled out his phone and pulled up a picture of pizza pockets. Yuya looked at the image and his mouth opened to form an 'oh.'
Then the microwave beeped, and Yuya pulled the pizza rolls out. They walked passed the living room and Yuya's sister raised her head in interest. "Go make your own." Yuya said, knowing she was going to ask him to make her some.
"Why didn't you just ask me before you made them? Don't you think of me?" She asked.
"No, I'm hungry. If you're hungry, you can make yourself some." Yuya said.
"You treat Dan better than your own sister." She said as she put her head back down to scroll through her phone. Yuya weakly sighed and handed Dan the plate.
"I'll meet you up there." Yuya said as he walked back to the kitchen to make some more pizza rolls. He heard the thumping of the stairs and the sound of the reclining chair being pushed closed. He put the pizza rolls on a plate.
"Put some more." She said.
"Why did you come over here? Just to criticize me?" Yuya asked as he turned to look at her.
"I just wanted to make sure you did it right." She replied. Yuya reluctantly placed more pizza rolls on the plate and put it into the microwave.
"You know you annoy me sometimes, right?" Yuya asked.
"But you still love me." She stated. Yuya walked out of the kitchen.
"Those burnt pizza rolls will be my gift to show you just how much I love you." Yuya said. He watched as his sister rushed to the microwave to check if they were actually burning. He laughed as he went up the stairs.
"You're an ass." She yelled.
"I know I am." Yuya said from the landing. He walked down the hallway to his room. He stepped inside to see Dan waiting patiently on the bed with a remote in his hand.
"If you like Cinderella so much, why don't you have it?" Dan asked as he looked through Netflix for something to watch.
"I probably have it, I just have to find where my mom hid the box of DVDs." Yuya replied, sitting next to Dan.
"What do you want to watch?" Dan asked, still flipping through Netflix.
"Actually, I may still have a box set in here somewhere." Yuya said as he started to go through the drawers of his desk, finally pulling out a DVD box. He opened it and put a disk into the DVD player. Dan exited out of Netflix and Yuya sat back down on the bed. The beginning ads played and bubbles appeared on the screen, floating up to reveal the main menu screen.
"Spongebob, really Yuya?" Dan asked
"What? Everybody likes Spongebob." Yuya replied, grabbing the remote.
"Look, I'll show you a good episode." Yuya said as he filtered through the episodes to turn on one called, 'Pizza Delivery.' Dan and Yuya ate their pizza rolls, most of the time Dan feeding Yuya directly as the plate was closer to him.
Dan didn't know what to expect of the episode but he really didn't expect both Spongebob and Yuya to be singing about pizza. Or for Yuya to be screaming the word, 'me,' to try and match Spongebob's pitch. Dan stuffed another pizza roll in his mouth, "you don't have to be as loud as him."
Yuya chocked on the pizza roll and ended up having to hold it in his mouth with his hand to swallow it. "Hot." Dan said, smirking at the reaction he got from Yuya.
"WHAT? I WAS CHOKING!" Yuya yelled as he started to laugh. Dan wasn't the best at putting on a smug face, and his dimples always made his expressions show ten times brighter than usual. "Ha- your face." Yuya said between laughter. Dan rolled his eyes and focused back to the television.
After the episode, Yuya just let the rest of them play out. Episode sixteen being a Valentines day special.
"If you ever rejected me, I bet I would be just as mad as Patrick." Yuya said.
"No, you wouldn't, Yuya. You wouldn't ask me out in the first place." Dan said as he watched Patrick destroy the park.
"I would ask you. And then you would reject me, because you don't love me, Dan." Yuya said, fake frown plastered on his face.
"Who said I would reject you?" Dan asked.
"What if I asked you right now?" Yuya asked falling into his flirtatious ways. He turned Dan's head to face him, lifting him by his chin.
"Yuya, stop." Dan said. But Yuya just moved closer to him, causing Dan to lay back on the bed.
"Why Dan? Scared that you'll actually reject me?" Yuya said as he moved to straddle Dan under him. He could see Dan's brightly red colored cheeks; he was so pretty.
"Yuya, I command you-" Once again, Dan was cut off by wood being stuffed in his mouth. They had already finished the pizza rolls so Yuya just grabbed the twinkie that Zuzu had given him last week.
"Damn, that's my last one." Yuya said. Dan smiled, thinking that he had won. But Yuya just leaned down and took a huge bite from the side of the twinkie that wasn't in Dan's mouth, missing his lips by only half an inch. He pulled away and ate his part of the twinkie, looking down to see Dan's dazed face. Dan sat there in shock for a few seconds before remembering he had a twinkie in his mouth and eating it.
"Twinkies are good, aren't they?" Yuya asked.
"You would like twinkies, wouldn't you?" Dan said as he sat back up and licked the small amount of filling off of his lips.
"Why wouldn't I?" Yuya asked. Dan just shook his head with a smile.
Dan had already fallen asleep on Yuya's shoulder by time they reached the end of the last disc. Yuya smiled as he pulled Dan down with him, struggling to get the blanket from underneath them and put it over them. Eventually he managed to do it. It woke Dan up in the process, but he just wrapped his arms around Yuya's neck to pull himself impossibly closer to him.
Yuya felt Dan's hair tickle under his chin. He leaned into it, grabbing his phone to set an alarm for fife-thirty before using the remote to restart the episodes on the disk.
"Are you ready kids?" The captain spoke.
"Aye-aye, captain." Yuya whispered.
Soon, he fell asleep with Dan. Yuya thought it was so much easier to fall asleep when he was laying in Yuya's arms. He could never find someone who gave him as good of a sleep as Dan did. That's why he hoped Dan could be patient with his feelings, and he could confess to him next week.
