11. 10 - Konoha Invasion - Chunin Exams III

Chapter 10 - Konoha Invasion - Chunin Exams ends!

(A/N): This marks the end of the OG Naruto period, I intent to end this series at Chapter 70, I have almost everything planned out. But after this chapter there is the a huge timeship!

-Konoha Gates-

Today at the Konoha gates it was very peaceful, they didn't have much traffic but the Sandiame Hokage raised the Security threat levels causing teams of ANBU to be patrolling the Gates.

"Today seems very peaceful" - Ibiki said, with a bored expression on his face

"You're right I expected to at least have some sort of action considering our security threat levels were raised" - Said Izumo

Just as they were talking about how peaceful, they seen an Army of Sunagakure Shinobi approaching the village. But considering it was the Chunin exams, there was still the possibility of them coming to watch the exams.

An ANBU member would stand to his fight nervous and say, "We have to alert the Hokage, this doesn't look like people coming to watch the Chunin Exams. This is the invasion the Hokage was talking about"

Suddenly after the ANBU member said that a voice spoke up behind him,"Well, forgive me. But I cannot allow you to alert anyone"

"Yondaime Kazekage-sama?" asked Ibiki with a confused expression on his face, "But Sunagakure is an ally of the Konoha. Why would you guys invade us?

The Yondaime Kazekage would smile and place his hand on Ibiki, "Well to begin, the Land of Wind's daimyo has decreased funding for Sunagakure. Leaving us to depend on wages from the mission request we receive, but unfortunately, we rarely get mission and the people who are stealing these missions is Konohagakure. In fact the Wind Daimyo has hired Konohagakure to do multiple missions even though we are right in the country"

A man with spiky white hair, and a Konoha flak vest with a mask covering the lower parts of his face would appear behind Ibiki, "Welcome to Konohagakure, this is as far as you and your Shinobi go"

Raza, the Fourth Kazekage, would give his ninja a signal and they would then begin a long sequence of hand sign. "I know that my men got it, Hatake Kakashi. I have something else I need to do" - He replied

The suna ninja would yell "Kuchiyose no Jutsu" , before three large snakes appeared. The sounds of the large snakes would roar throughout Konoha.

"This is going to be a bother, let's dance INO-SHIKI-CHO!" said Shikaku, with a lazy tone and a bored expression on his face

-Chunin Exams Arena-

The genin teams, and the Civilians were just begining to settle in for the preliminary rounds of the Chunin exams. But the excitement and happy mood would soon disappear as Kabuto and a bunch of disguised Suna nin would disperse throughout the stadium. They would all begin a long sequence of handsigns before shouting, "Nehan no Shoja no Jutsu"

Team 7 and Itachi would notice to commotion going on in the village. They would notice the Sand siblings and their sensei would appear beside Kabuto would seemed to be the mastermind of the invasion, as there was no sign of Orochimaru.

Kabuto would glare at the sand sibling, wasting no time he would begin by saying "Orochimaru-sama wants you three to go join the team at the main gates, Gaara you will have to let Shukaku take over."

The sand siblings would nod acknowledging their orders. "We understand, let's go Temari and Konkuro" Gaara said

The Sand siblings would begin leaving the arena,

"Naruto, Hinata and Sasuke" Shisui said in a serious tone, "We cannot let the Sand Siblings release the Ichicbi. Go and push them out of the village to minamize the damage of the this invasion"

"Before you guys leave, I don't mean to put pressure on you but the future of the Konoha is in your hands. If the Ichicbi takes control of Gaara, the damage may be irreversible" Itachi added with a dire tone, realizing the gravity of the situation at hand

"Now Kabuto, would you like to dance with me? Itachi of the Sharingan" Itachi asked sarcastically

"I would prefer not to, I am only a messenger of Konohagakure. But here is a document you might want" said Kabuto as he dropped a file and disappeared

"ANBU!" Shisui exclaimed, "I want you guys to do me a favour, collect that file. Make sure nobody but the Hokage or myself has access to it. Nobody is to hear of its existence"

"Shisui!" Itachi shouted, "damn it! Look at the Kage box, it's the Kazekage and Orochimaru"

-Kage box-

Hiruzen would drop his cigar, dropping his robe revealing his battle wear. "What is the meaning of this Kazekage-san?"

Orochimaru would begin chuckling, "Ah, Sarutobi-Sensei. It seems you have a tendency for making enemies!"

Orochimaru who had hold of the Sandiame Hokage would jump onto the roof of a near by building, followed by the Yondaime Kazekage. ANBU and the two Uchiha would try to follow them, but just as they landed on the roof four Ninja would place a barrier around the fight.

"Damn it, only Naruto can get in there." said Itachi worriedly

"ANBU! I am ordering you to go collect Uzumaki Naruto, I want you to have him get Jiraiya-sama and have them use Flying Raijin to teleport to the Hokage" Shisui commanded, punching a whole into the floor he was kneeling on

"We cannot let the Hokage die, we cannot. Although we won't be here for much long, we need a strong ally" Itachi said, his voice barely above that of a whisper

The Anbu would go to Naruto, who was joined by Jiraiya, Team 7, Team 8 and Team 3. They were all holding off the Sunagakure Shinobi, not one Ninja was able to enter the Village as Jiraiya easily took down the three summonings Orochimaru gave the Suna-nin. "Naruto-sama, Itachi and Shisui request that you and Jiraiya teleport the Sandiame-sama. He is endanger and only you can help him" said the ANBU

"I am almost finished here, I will join the Hokage once I am done dealing with the Sand Siblings."

-Rooftop-

"Danzo Shimura, your right hand man ey?" said the Kazekage before continuing on to say "He sold us the information, that was vital to plan this invasion. He wants us to kill you, so we will. So shall we begin"

Hiruzen would feel betrayed because he knew what the Kazekage said was true, as just a year earlier Danzo tried to have the root assassinate him. "I won't die without a fight!"

"Jaiton: Suna Shuriken" said Rasa, a wave of sand shuriken began rushing towards the Hokage. The Hokage would counter this using his own shuriken

Orochimaru would bite his finger, then slap the ground "Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei" two coffins would appear one labelled "Shodai" another labbed "Nidaime" as another coffin rised Hiruzen was able to stop the third one from being revealed

The First and Second Hokage would appear in front of Hiruzen, "Hiruzen, you've grown old which means we've been dead for many years. Who is using my jutsu, I we won't be able to control ourselves you have to seal us away ASAP" said Tobirama

"I am so sorry, Shodai-sama, Nidaime-sama. Damn you Orochimaru, making me fight my own mentors" Hiruzen said with a tear almost streaming down his face

Orochimaru stood surrounded by the reanimated first and second Hokage. The trio, all armed with deadly swords, faced off against the third Hokage, Hiruzen, who stood alone, a small gleam of determination in his eyes.

Orochimaru's eyes glinted with anticipation and malice as he ordered the reanimated first Hokage to attack. "First Hokage, take that old fool down!" he shouted, his voice ringing out in the quiet forest.

The reanimated first Hokage let out an unearthly howl, lunging forward with his sword held high. Hiruzen stepped back, narrowly avoiding the attack, and countered with a barrage of kunai. The first Hokage intercepted the missiles with a flick of his wrist, sending them clattering to the ground.

The second Hokage moved forward, her sword slashing through the air, as the first Hokage moved in from the opposite direction. Hiruzen was forced to jump back, his arms raised to block their attacks. But he was quick on his feet, and he managed to duck and weave, dodging their strikes with effortless elegance.

The fight was fast and brutal, with Hiruzen using his own skills and experience to hold his own against the reanimated kage. He managed to land a few blows of his own, his own sword flashing through the air, the sound of metal on metal echoing through the forest.

But in the end, it was a battle of stamina, and Hiruzen began to tire. His movements slowed, and his focus slipped. The reanimated kage sensed his weakness, and they attacked with renewed ferocity, the two of them surrounding him, sword raised high.

In that moment, Hiruzen was filled with a sense of determination and resolve. He knew that the only way to protect Konoha and his people was to use a dangerous jutsu that he had locked away for so long - a jutsu that could cost him his life. But he was willing to accept that risk if it meant saving the village and those he loved. With tears in his eyes, he raised his hands and began the complex sequence of hand signs that would unleash the jutsu he had kept hidden for so long.

"Shiki: Fujin" a huge shinigami appeared behind Hiruzen as the Shinigami begin extracting the souls of the First and Second hokage. He was able to successfully seal the two Hokage, but as he began to seal away Orochimaru, the Yondaime Hokage launched his ultimate jutsu,

"Jiton: Sakin Taiso" a large amount of sand began covering Hiruzen. It was the end for the elderly Hokage, he had served a long life of success now it was the time for the next Generation to prevail.

With his last remaining strength, Hiruzen looked up at his opponent and spoke his final words: "I may have lost the fight, but Konoha will always survive. For the people we love and the village we call home, I am ready to sacrifice everything." And with that, Hiruzen closed his eyes, a tear rolling down his cheek, as he was swallowed up by the sand and buried.

The Yondaime would raise his hand and clench his fist, "He is definitely dead"

Orochimaru would let out a scream, he was in pain. "Damn you Sarutobi-Sensei my arms! Rasa, call off the Invasion I am out of here" Orochimaru said signalling the four ninja's to help him teleport away.

Soon after the sand cleared, Naruto and Jiraiya would appear next to Hiruzen's dead body.

"We were too late, if we have just left that damn fight Sarutobi-Sensei would be here"

"Jiraiya of the Lengendary Sannin" the Yondaime said before continuing, "I am responsible for the death of your Hokage. I have ordered my men to leave the village, I know you have to avenge the Hokage and I know what I have done, I am willing to accept the consequences in return that the Hidden Leaf doesnt retaliate when a new Kazekage is installed"

Naruto would chuckle, wiping the tears from his eyes, "No, Jiraiya-sama isn't going to be the only one avenging Old man. I am going to give you a painful death Rasa!"

Naruto and Jiraiya would do a sequence of handsigns and would yell "Futon: ODAMA RASENGAN" Naruto would throw a kunai at the Yondaime Kazekage, and than teleport to him landing a blow which disintegrated the Yondaime's body.

The ANBU would collect the body of Hiruzen, and Itachi and Shisui would fall to their knees knowing they should've and could've done so much more. The Hokage was now dead, his death would forever be remembered in Konoha. He was a father figure to all in the Village, this village was his family and they failed to protect him.

-Outskirts of Konoha(Moments Earlier: Flashback)-

Naruto had never felt so angry in his life, the fire burning inside him matched only by the pain in his heart. He stood in front of Gaara, his eyes locked on the monster who had caused him so much anguish, his fists clenched tight, ready to fight.

Jiraiya stood beside him, his eyes filled with resolve, aware of the danger of the situation, but still determined to end it. "Gaara, enough!" he shouted, his voice ringing out in the desert.

Gaara's eyes narrowed, the sand swirling around him in a threatening swirl. "You dare to challenge me?" he sneered.

"We don't want to fight you," Naruto said, his voice low and determined. "We want to help you. You don't have to be alone, you can have friends."

Gaara laughed, a harsh, mirthless sound, and the sand around him erupted, sending a barrage of sand needles at Naruto and Jiraiya. They dodged, narrowly avoiding the sharp attacks.

"You want to help me?" Gaara scoffed. "You know nothing of the pain I've suffered, the loneliness that consumes me."

"We can understand," Jiraiya said, his voice soft, but filled with a determination that surprised even himself. "We too have felt the sting of loneliness, the pain of loss. But we've found hope, found friendship and allies."

Gaara's eyes widened in surprise, his sand whirlwinds slowing. "No one could ever understand me," he growled.

"I can," Naruto said, his voice filled with a certainty that surprised even him. "I may not understand everything, but I understand the pain of losing someone you love. And I know that feeling of loneliness, of thinking you're alone in the world. But I've found that there are people out there who will love you for who you are, who will be there for you when you need them."

"You're lying," Gaara spat, but his sand whirlwinds had slowed even further.

"I'm not," Naruto said, his voice calm and steady. "I'm speaking the truth."

Gaara hesitated, the sand around him still, as if holding its breath. And then, in a sudden burst of motion, he fell to his knees, burying his face in his trembling fists.

Naruto and Jiraiya stood staring at him, surprised and moved by the sudden change. Gaara raised his head, his eyes wet with tears, and spoke in a voice so small it barely carried past the desert wind.

"I don't know how," he said, his voice shaking. "I don't know how to trust, how to have friends. The only way I've ever known is to be alone."

Jiraiya stepped forward, placing a hand on Gaara's shoulder. "We'll show you," he said, his voice filled with compassion. "We'll show you that the world doesn't have to be a lonely place, that there are people who care, who want to help."

Gaara shivered, the first genuine smile on his face in years, and in that moment, Naruto and Jiraiya knew that they had made a difference in this young man's life. They had turned him from an enemy into an ally, and they had given him the hope that he had so desperately needed.

Gaara would signal his battalion to retreat back to Sunagakure, with a changed heart Gaara would say "Thank you, Naruto and Jiraiya-sama"

Knowing the primary forces of Sunagakure has retreated Jiraiya and Naruto rushed back to the arena to help the Hokage

-End of Flashback-

The death of the Kazekage and the Hokage was a tramatic event for both villages. Sunagakure shinobi's who were retreating cursed Orochimaru for leading the Kazekage to his death.

"Pops" Naruto said, his voice full of warmth and remorse "It's not your fault, I should've teleported you to him sooner"

Jiraiya would turn his head to naruto, and then look down. "No, Naruto. Sarutobi-sensei was going to die either way. He used the Reaper Death Seal, as you can see by the seal on his stomach."

Kakashi would dash towards Jiraiya and Naruto with urgency, out of breath he would utter "We must convene with the Village council immediately, they are having an emergency meeting to decide the Godiame Hokage"

"So soon?" Jiraiya said bowing his head, "They are already trying to replace Sarutobi-sensei"

"Yes, and Tsunade-sama, will be returning to Konoha. She was in the land of fire somewhere, she will be coming to help with the health aspect of the village."

Naruto would place his hand on Kakashi and Jiraiya, "Let's go shall we?" as he teleports to the Council chambers.

-Konohagakure Council meeting hall-

An elderly women would stand to her feet and bow her head and began by saying "Please bow your heads, as we hold a moment of silence for the fallen Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen."

After two minutes, a village councilor, Homura Mitokada, would speak up by saying, "I am positive that everyone in this chamber is aware that Hiruzen Sarutobi was murdered by Rasa and Orochimaru. Leaving the Hokage position vacant, myself and Koharu have made the decision to ask Jiraiya to succeed him as the Godiame"

"Splendid decision" said Shikaku Nara

Jiraiya would look up, with a frown and say "Altough I am grateful for the opportunity, I am going to have to decline the position. During the invasion, I noticed Hatake Kakasi was leading a battalion of ninjas on an defensive attack. To me he shows all the qualties of an Hokage, and considering he was a close confidant to the Sandiame and Yondaime Hokages he surely will be a great asset"

"Yes, I agree. Kakashi was appointed to the position of Jounin at twelve years old. He also served in the Elite Anbu Black ops, Hokage Protection Unit" Itachi added

Homura and Koharu would exchange a glance at eachother, before Koharu spoke up and said "Kakashi Hatake, would make a great Hokage. What do you say Kakashi?"

Kakashi stood up and bowed his head, "I humbly accept your recommendation, I would be honored to serve Konaha as the Godaime Hokage. I recognize that I have big shoes to fill, but I assure you that I am willing to do everything in my power to protect Konoha and its people."

The Fire Daimyo covered his face with his fan and began, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hiruzen Sarutobi, who so dutifully served under four different Land of Fire Feudal Lords during his lifetime. As a token of my respect for him and his memory, I hereby grant Homura and Koharu the ability to appoint any Hokage without my intervention."

He paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts before continuing, "Furthermore, as my final effort as the sole appointer of the Hokage, I officially appoint Hatake Kakashi as the Godaime Hokage. Please accept this position with dignity and grace, and know that you will serve not only as the protector of Konoha, but as a symbol of hope and justice for all of the Land of Fire."

"Thank you, I do accept. And I promise to serve with dignity and grace." Kakashi said

The room was quiet as the Anzu member spoke, a sense of tension hanging heavy in the air. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but we have credible information that Danzo Shimura may have been involved in the plot to overthrow the previous Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi," the Anbu agent stated solemnly.

Danzo's face contorted into shock and dismay as he listened to the accusation. "What? That's absurd!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with emotion. "I could never betray my lifelong friend - this must be a misunderstanding, or a lie from one of my enemies. I swear on my life, I had nothing to do with this!"

As the council members examined the evidence, their expressions became serious and grim. After a moment of deliberation, they turned to Danzo. "I'm sorry, but the evidence is overwhelming. We have no choice but to remove you from office and take you into custody for questioning."

Danzo's face fell into despair as the guards moved to cuff him, and he whispered, "I understand. I will not resist."

As the council members filed out of the room, Danzo's expression was one of shock, disbelief, and devastation. The realization that his own actions, his desire for power, had led to his downfall was too much to bear, and he stumbled out of the room, his eyes filled with tears.

-Sunagakure, Council Hall (Three days Later)-

"Konohagakure has yet to inform us of their demands. We failed the invasion, and it costed us the life of the Yondaime Kazekage." said an Village Councilor

"We must select a new Kazekage, the Godaime must be a descendant of Rasa our late Yondaime Kazekage." said Baki

"We have three options, Gaara, Temari or Kankuro. Gaara has the Ichibi and magnet release just like Rasa, I personally think he is the best option" Another Village councilor spoke up

"But Temari and Kankuro are older" said Chiyo

"Gaara should be the Godaime Hokage, Rasa highly revered Gaara. I think it's only right that we honor Yondaime-sama properly by respecting his wishes." - Ebizo ordered

"Altough he is too young, I will serve be the acting Godaime until he is of age" Baki Added

"I am honored to accept the position of Godaime Kazekage, and I promise to serve the land of the Wind with honor and dignity," Gaara said, accepting the title with both pride and a sense of responsibility. "I am determined to be a leader that my people can be proud of, and I will work tirelessly to bring peace and prosperity to the land of Wind. Thank you for your faith in me."

-Konohagakure-

As Tsunade walked through the gates of her old home with Shizune, they couldn't help but shed tear no longer sensing the Sandaime Hokage.

"So they weren't joking, Sarutobi-Sensei is really dead" Tsunade said with a gloomy tone in her voice

"I am sorry for your lost, Tsunade-sama" Shizune said bowing her head

"Hold on, why do I sense a Senju and Uzumaki mixed Chakra?" Tsunade said confused

Jiraiya and Naruto would show up infront of Tsunade, Jiraiya smiling because he finally gets to see his old teammate.

"Hello, My name is Uzumaki Naruto, son of Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Kush-" Naruto said before getting interrupted by a hug from Tsunade

Tsunade would begin crying, "Naruto, my dear Grandson. I thought you were dead, that damn Danzo sent me a letter telling me you died the same day as Kushina. I cannot believe I didn't know all this while, I want you to tell me everything that has happened to you Naruto. I am sorry I wasn't here to take care of you your entire life"

Naruto would begin shedding tears aswell. He was shocked that this was his Grandmother, Tsunade the Legendary Sannin, "Ba-chan, You don't have to worry I am only 13 years old. You didn't miss that much, Jiraiya has basically been my Grandfather. He has taken care of me and trained me since I was 5, but now I am leaving Konohagakure to restore Uzushiogakure and restore the Uzumaki Clan"

Naruto would look over to Shizune who was a female his age, around the same height as him, with beautiful red lucious hair. Which was proof of her Uzumaki lineage, "You're really beautiful. And you're an Uzumaki, I wonde"

Tsunade would look at Shizune who was blushing, and she would scold Naruto by saying, "Keep your eyes off of Shizune! She is my assistant, do not even think about it"

Jiraiya would chuckle seeing his old teammate scold her Grandson, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

"Anyways, We are heading to the land of Whirlpools. We are restoring the Village Hidden in the Whirling Tides." Jiraiya explained

"I can help with that, I can put skills to use. In fact, I am leaving Konoha today. I just have to quickly pay my respects to Sarutobi-sensei. I happened to miss his funeral" Tsunade replied

"Sounds like a plan, We have a long road ahead of us" said Jiraiya

(A/N): Chapter 10 is complete! The series will be going on a 6 Year timeskip, I am debating whether to pair naruto with Shizune, Karin or Hinata. Naruto and the Konoha 11 will be 18, in the next chapter. This will be the last timeskip, and I can promise you the story will only get interesting from here.
