Dust Old Cabin
It is quiet with only the faintest of sounds of nature in the air, and line rays of light sneak their way into a dusty and bordered-up room. Nowhere in the room is untouched by dust apart from a small writing desk with a large closed leather-bound book.
Squawking birds can be heard as they flee from their trees, and loud rustling can be heard outside followed closely by a young male voice cursing the brambles and thickets "...Bloody plants… Let go…" The rustling slowly and steadily makes its way closer before there is a thud against the door knocking dust down from the ceiling. "Ow! Why did they have to build this shed all the way out here… Now let's see how this place has held up"
There is silence before a dull thunk echoes from the door before the sound of wood being pried apart "Come on don't be stubborn…" There is a grunt of effort before there is a loud snapping crack as wood is split. "Not what I wanted but it'll do." The person repeats what they're doing two more times.
The door starts to jostle as they fiddle with the handle and quickly there is a click as the door unlocks. "The key still works that's good." They quickly push open the door having to step away in a coughing fit as they disturb many years of piled-up dust "Cough cough How cough long has it been?" They cover their mouth with a cloth and step into the now-sunlit room. "Well, this place hasn't changed much." Slightly muffled through the cloth as the looks at the bookshelves to the left of the door the titles of the books are not readable through the layering of dust on them.
Looking to the right side of the door they spot the closed window which they quickly walk over to kicking up dust in the process before grabbing the latch and opening the window as the wind decides it's the perfect time to explore the room throwing the settled dust into a frenzy forcing the young man to flee the room hacking and coughing in between cursing the wind.
After several minutes and regaining their composure. "Really glad I came here alone now Coughs." They drink some water before spitting it out onto the grass to get rid of the last bits of dust they had somehow found their way through the cloth. "That's better." They stand up and re-enter the shed.
Giving out a sigh they see that the gust of wind has blown most of the dust out of the room leaving it only slightly dusty. "I'm really going to have to give this place a cleaning." He mutters as they walk to the writing desk brushing the last of the dust off of the stool before sitting down on it, and stares down at the leather-bound book and gives one last sigh.
"I never thought I would pick this up again." He slowly and carefully unlocks and opens the book to reveal a smaller, more normal-sized book with a Red lotus encircled by nine fox tails on top of a gold background surrounded by the title 'RWBY: One With Nine Tails'. "Well, old friend let's see if I can pull this off" While reaching under the writing desk and pulling out an old ornate fountain pen and spins it on his fingers as he opens the Book to where he left off and starts to write once more. The camera starts to pull back out of the shed through the door watching the Writer before turning and flying into the sky where a shattered moon eclipses a yellow sun.
Author's Notes:
Well... I'm back and it has been nearly eight years since I've... sighs ...It's been rough, I burned myself when writing this story, I wrote too fast too soon, But I've returned. I've thought about coming back many times to continue writing this story, but I've never been able to find the right motivation for it, some part of me felt hollow when I thought about writing this. But every time I see my Email pop up with a new person Favourting or Following a small Part of me remembers why I wrote this story, I lost sight of that for a long time and now I think it's time for me to come back and continue this.
I will not be writing this as fast as I did when I first started with one chapter every day sort of thing, but I plan to write one chapter a week at the very least, it might not be uploaded on the same day each week, so I kindly ask for your patience as I get back into this story.
Finally to all those that Followed and Favourited this story, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I dearly hope I can live up to at least a small part of your expectations. To Those that have followed and Favourited me and stick with this story even if you've forgotten about it, you have my biggest thanks
