"Henry come on let's go!" His mom shouted up the stairs, trying to get the teens attention. "You are going to be late for school and I have an early morning meeting." The Mayor looked in the mirror in the foyer and straighten the collar of her coat, a skin tight black dress laid underneath. She reached into her purse and pulled out her signature red lipstick, applying the color with ease. Henry ran down the stairs and jumped off the second to last step. His mom turned toward him. "You know better then to not run in the house. If you want to run so much join the track team."
"You know I don't like sports, I want to be a writer." The brown hair kid said with a smile on his face. He grabbed his backpack slipped the straps upon his shoulders and slipped on his shoes. The pair headed out the door and entered the Black Mercedes-Benz. "As long as I can remember I have had a desire to write, I don't know where it comes from."
The mayor drove away from the house heading to downtown Storybrooke. "You can do what ever you set your mind to kid, you are so smart. I can't believe you are already a teenager, where has the time gone." She said, using her right hand to ruffle the brown locks on top of his head. The drive was quick as always. She parked the car in front of Granny's diner. Henry leaned over and gave his mom a sideways hug, he got of the car and waved at his girlfriend Violet who was waiting for him outside of the diner. The mayor checked herself in the mirror making sure there wasn't a single hair out of place before exiting the vehicle. She waved goodbye to Henry and Violet as they walked off to school and she made her way into the diner.
"Good morning Madam Mayor." Ruby said from behind the counter dressed in her normal short skirt and low cut top. The mayor didn't understand how this women held down a job dressing in such a way.
"Morning Ruby, can I have my usual please." She said sitting in a bar stool. A few minutes later Ruby set a bowl of mixed fruit and a coffee in a to go cup in front of the Mayor. She ate the fruit as quick as she could with poise. Thanking Ruby for the breakfast and handing a five dollar bill she grabbed the cup of coffee and head out the door and made her way to the car. A short drive later she was walking out of the car once more and making her way into the mayor's office.
"Ella I have an early meeting this morning, please hold my calls for me, unless it's an emergency." Heels clicked against the marble floors as she made her way to her office.
"Of course madam mayor." Ella said nodding in response to the mayors words.
The mayor shut the door to her office and walked around her desk setting the coffee cup down. Looking over her calendar the date read Friday September, 2nd there were several meetings scheduled for the day, it was going to be a long affair. She had a few minutes until her first meeting of the day she started answering as many emails as she could. Until she heard a commotion outside the door.
"The mayor cannot be disturbed this morning unless it's an emergency, you can leave a message or schedule an appointment for later this week." She heard Ella say to someone.
"This is an emergency." The second voice was raised. The two voices approached her door and it was opened with a sense of urgency.
"What is the meaning of this? Who are you?" The mayor said in a stern voice standing up from her desk.
"I'm sorry Madam Mayor." Her secretary responded her voice cracked. "I tried to stop her and tell her not to enter but she got past me." The young girl was worried about how the Mayor will react.
"It's fine Ella, go back to your desk I will take care of this, shut the door on your way out." She waved her hand in Ella's direction. The secretary followed the directions and left the room as fast as she could.
Left standing in the middle of the Mayor's office was a women in a red leather jacket, black jeans and black boots. What a tacky jacket the mayor thought to herself. "What are you doing here and who are you?" The mayor asked sitting back into her chair. On a normal day she would have thrown an intruder out of her office but she was intrigued with the women who stood before her.
The women in the leather jacket stepped toward the Mayor leaning her hands on the desk in front of her and said. "Emma, you are not going to believe me when I tell you this but you need to keep an open mind, can you do that for me Mayor Swan?"

Wednesday two days before.
Regina woke up, trying to get a sense of her surroundings confused on who's bedrooms she was in. Did she get black out drunk two nights in a row. A phone rang on the bedside table next to her. A sleepy "Hello," escaped her lips as she answered the call.
"Mills, did you figure out where Stewart is? Last night you texted saying you had a credible lead on his whereabouts. This will be a big pay day for us if you catch him." The voice on the other side said.
"Stewart? Who is Stewart? Who is this?" Regina asked pulling the phone away from her ear looking to see called her. Boss, Regina was the Mayor, she didn't have a boss.
"Did you drink to much last night Mills, this is Graham your boss. Stewart is the latest scum bag who skipped bail. The price for his head is twice the normal going rate. Once you have some coffee call me back with the details you found last night." Graham ended the call, leaving Regina more confused then what she already was.
She set the phone back down on the side table as she removed the blanket noticing she was wearing a pair of shorts a white tank top and a yellow bracelet on her left wrist. She didn't recognize the clothes she was wearing, wondering what happened to her silk pajamas. Regina stepped out of bed and headed out the bedroom door. She entered a living room that she didn't recognize. Hardwood floors covered the room that led into a small kitchen, the furniture was defiantly not her taste. To her left was a large open window that showcased tall buildings around her. "If am not in Storybrooke any more. Where am I?" Regina said out loud to herself, she ran back into the bedroom and grabbed the phone on the bedside table.
The background photo was not her usual photo of Henry it was replaced with a picture was of herself standing in-front of a water fountain with her arms in the air. When was this photo taken she thought. The date on the phone read Wednesday, August 31st.
'It was May yesterday.' She though confused on what was going on. "Where am I and where is my family?" Regina rubbed the back of her neck attempting to calm her down. She brushed a piece of her raven hair behind her ear, siting down on the bed trying to grasp what was happening. She pulled up maps and revealed her location, Boston. As she scrolled through her contacts it was filled with names and numbers she didn't recognize. Henry's, Emma's, or Snow's numbers weren't in her phone. Knowing the number by heart she called Henry's phone but the line was dead, the same thing happened when she tried Emmas.
Regina had to find them and figure out what had happened. She headed over to the closet to pull out some clothes, the doors opened to reveal clothes that seemed familiar but they weren't hers. Brown eyes noticed a red jacket in the corner of the closet, she touched it and sure enough it was a jacket she had seen so many times before, it was Emma's. All of these clothes were Emma's, she had seen the younger women wear most of these outfits through the years.
That is when it hit Regina she had recognized this apartment from photos, this was Emma's old apartment in Boston, the apartment she lived in before she came to Storybrooke. "Shit, is this another curse?" She shouted throwing her hands up in the air. Grabbing the most presentable clothes she could find out of the array of jeans, t-shirts and sweaters. Regina headed into the bathroom, she glanced at her reflection in the mirror relieved that she still looked liker herself.
Forty minutes later Regina emerged from the apartment phone in hand dressed in a blue button down shirt and a pair of dress pants. It wasn't Regina's style but it would have to do for now. Her phone was pulled up with directions to Maine. It was going to be a long trip but needed to get back to Storybrooke and fast. She found the hideous looking yellow car that Emma loved so much in a parking garage next to the apartment building. Unlocking the car and stepping in the driver seat felt foreign she had never driven the small care before. She was missing her beautiful Mercedes-Benz in this moment. As she turned the key in the ignition and was about to back out of the spot the visor popped open dropping a key and a piece of paper written in Emma's hand writing. She opened it up and read.
Neals apartment before Storybrooke.
89 Wooster St, New York Apartment 407
More then anything in the world Regina wanted to go to Storybrooke and find Henry but something in her gut told her to trust Emma and go to New York first. "I guess I am driving to New York." She pulled the car out of the spot and started her journey to the city that never sleeps.

Four hours later Regina was opening the door to an apartment that read 407. She entered, taking in the surroundings that laid before her, the last time she was in this room was when she came to save Robin from her sister. She knew it had been four months since he past away but for her she buried him two days ago. Regina started searching for clues around the tiny apartment. The only thing she had to go on was the conversation she had with the group in the Charming's apartment. The last thing she remembered from that day was helping Emma back up the stairs after running out of the Charming's apartment.
"Why didn't I think of this before, we must have gotten close to figuring how to stop Rumple or maybe all of this could be a side effect of him being successful. Something in this apartment that used to be Neals, Robins, or Zelena's must be important enough that Emma would have left me a note to come here."
Regina spent the next few hours looking through the living room, the bedroom, and going through each item diligently hoping to find some sort of clue as to why she was here. During her search she found a letter addressed to her Robin never sent. She knew it wasn't the reason she was sent here but it was a welcomed surprise. When she found the letter she spent several minutes reading the words over and over. The second time she stopped searching was to grab dinner at a restaurant around the corner.
She slept through the night in Robin's old bed wrapped up in a shirt that had belonged to him while the book she had given him laid next to her. The next morning she looked through the apartment until she found a piece of paper that was hidden beneath a floor board. It had an address located in Chinatown written on the back of it with the words 'There is magic in New York', written in handwriting she didn't recognize. It must have been Neals she thought.
Regina stopped at a store near by and bought something more to her liking, a black fitted dress that stopped at her knees and black high heals. A few subway rides later she was outside a building in Chinatown that appeared to be an herbalist, an older gentlemen with a long beard walked towards her. "How may I help you, Is there anything specific that you are looking for?" The gentlemen asked in a soothing voice.
"I am here to talk to someone about magic. I believe there is something here that can help my family." Regina said to the man still unsure why she was there.
The gentlemen looked at Regina as a smile grew on his face. "Yes, Regina." Regina took a step back, how did he know who she was, she thought. A worried look appeared. In this moment she was hoping wishing she could use her magic incase something was about to happen. "Don't worry child, I mean you no harm. I know what you are searching for but that is not the answer. I have but a message for you." Regina took a deep breath to calm her nerves. "You must tell Emma that August has already given her the message." He said with a calming smile.
"The puppet, how can the puppet help us?" She asked, annoyed and wondering if she wasted her time.
"Trust what I say, now go to Emma and tell her before it's to late." He turned around and left Regina standing in the shop by herself. "How will I know if it's to late?" She shouted but no response was given, she waited for a minute but when it appeared he wasn't returning she left the hope and headed to the yellow Beetle to drive to the one place she had been wanting to be at the last two days, Storybrooke.
